I researched and found this salon and was hopefully with everyone's praise. Unfortunately the lady who everyone loves isn't who cut my hair. It was a male and I didn't see a license for him (maybe it just wasn't posted) I asked for face framing and medium layers. After losing my hair to cancer, cutting my hair is something I try not to do often. Ended up paying $60 in total since I tipped and I'm just heartbroken. read more

I've been in search for a great place that will cut my hair and get some highlights. I have not had much luck at barber type shops and was lucky enough last year to find a place that did me very well, but I'm no longer working in that area and work near home now. I figured I would try my luck locally and gave Carmen a call at Studio C (which has the look and feel of a woman's salon) in Imperial Beach (I saw some amazing reviews and was hoping to get Carmen). She answered the phone and I kind of told her what I wanted and asked about the prices. Everything she told me sounded really good. I made a a quick appointment and she took me in same day. I arrived (noticed I'm the only guy lol) and met with Carmen. She made me feel comfortable and welcome. She sat me down, I told her what I wanted, but I really relied on her expertise to make me all guapo for my age. I let her do her work on me and I have to say that I was happy with everything that she did. From color to the cut. I don't know how to express this but I've never been this happy about my haircut and what's even better is that I'm happier every day about my haircut. i wanted to try out a new nail place after work and i found this place on google with 5 stars. I go in and i'm sitting in the lobby for 40 minutes nobody checking on me at all. I finally take a look on instagram and it wasn't clear on google that it was an appointment only business and it's under a different name in person just saying if you want more clients please have the correct information online:) or at least have somebody at the front desk in case someone new walks in. read more

Scheduled an appointment with Carmen because of all the great reviews but when I got there I was sat with another stylist instead. That was months ago and I am still struggling with the damage. My hair is gummy and stretches/falls off even just with brushing when it's dry. I've gotten highlights for years and have never experienced much damage at all, let alone this. I can no longer color my own hair, so I found Studio C on Yelp. I made an appointment because of the great reviews of Carmen's hair colorist expertise. Carmen talked me into highlights to cover and blend my gray, blonde red and brown year-long grow out. I usually used a color all over box dye. I'd never done highlights before, but she assured me it would be terrific. It WAS!! I've never been this satisfied with my hair color. Thank you soooo much, Carmen. I went in not knowing exactly what I wanted but Carmen knew exactly how to help me. She's really the best. I ended up getting partial highlights and a haircut and she knew exactly how to cut my hair. I put my trust in her and didn't regret it one bit. Beautiful layers and she kept my length! I got my hair done and it took 4 hours and the girl was nice she look at my picture a couple times. She didn't know good English... I couldn't really see the back of my hair it was dark and I worked at midnight didn't nap so I could get my hair done.. I was so tired when I let there. I was happy with the Front of my hair but when I got home and play with it The hair in the back was so uneven and the color was not right it's fantasy color when my hair was dry.. wasn't nothing I wanted and the response from the owner was so unprofessional I wouldn't recommend this place and I would never go again.. this is a copy of what she said. "Hi this is Carmen from a studio C salon I'm just returning your phone call unfortunately we don't have refound's I checked my come up and she walk away happy she's safe she likes it so I'm sorry and there's nothing I can do for you we can fix her hair but like you said she already fixed it so I don't have nothing to do with her sorry have a good day..." maybe if she said it a Little more professional I would let this go but to say she's done with me was very unprofessional yes I would not of wrote this review read more
