When Impasto opened, I was skeptical. Another pizza spot in a neighborhood already overflowing with excellent pizza didn't feel so exciting. But I'm happy to report I was very wrong. Their Roman-style slices are on the pricier side, but totally worth it. I like to head here with a friend, order a few different slices, and share. They thoughtfully cut each slice in half, which makes sampling easy and fun. There's always a strong mix of slices, both veggie-forward plus meat options, with plenty of great cheeses in the rotation. Recently I loved the sausage and mushroom slice, the trifolata, and one topped with buffalo mozzarella. They usually have small outdoor tables out front, perfect for a nice day, though there's also a slim counter inside for eating in. They also sell sourdough loaves, which is high on my list for a future visit.

I've been wanting to try this spot after Teo's closed. When I dropped by Saturday it was very busy with all the tables outside full. People definitely enjoy the pizza and rightfully so. Most of the slices were priced at $7/each which was a little steep. Despite that I think it was a really delicious slice. I got the bufala slice and my friend got the diavola. Square, thin slices that handle all the toppings and flavors well. The dough and crust was really crispy.

This great little place for Roman style pizza opened in Park Slope (where Teo's ice cream recently closed).

I think this is what Detroit pizza should taste like (haven't been to MI) but it's one of my favorite types of pizza besides classic NY or Sicilian. They have a variety of flavors and various sizes including personal to large. The prices are reasonable and portions are filling. I went on a busy Friday night for take out and the host was great. She got me set up and ready within 10 minutes. The shop was busy at 11pm to closing and everyone looked like they were having a good time. It's a bar pizza shop in the heart of Williamsburg. Accepts cash, card and Applepay. Open late! Indoor seating and takeout available. I think outdoor seating is available as well.

It has become my go-to whether I'm fueling up before a night out or attempting to resurrect myself the day after. The food comes out quick and consistently punches above its weight, easily some of the best in its class. The staff are super friendly and nail that perfect balance between attentive and laid-back, which fits right in with the spot's chill 90s vibe. And do yourself a favor, order the root beer. It comes in a frozen mug and is probably the most uplifting thing you'll ever put in your mouth. Fair warning:,the place gets packed, If you can make a reservation.

So, eating at this restaurant before the Bruce Springsteen concert, the other night was a thrill. Ate with lifelong friends. We shared several appetizers, including meatballs, a margarita, pizza, bake clams, and spicy shrimp. All were delicious. I had a seafood pasta with squid ink that was memorable. Lots of seafood and the pasta was fantastic! Nice bottle of wine at a reasonable price. Good service. Frankly, I think the prices were cheaper than what I pay in Austin area, and the food and venue were authentic and much better than in Texas!

Not sure what the menu currently says, but the menu from just 3 months ago said it's 18% for a party under 6. Maybe they've changed it. Not sure. This is the first restaurant we've been to with 20% auto gratuity for a party under 6. But the borderline dishonest part is that the check that you sign tells you in tiny letters that tip was already added, but has huge font for additional tip and written out tip calculations, so it is very easy to tip 40% without noticing. Sometimes I do tip extra generously, but I don't want to feel like I was tricked into doing it! Looking thru reviews here, I see other people also experienced this, including people in small parties who were locked into the 20% when it should have definitely been 18%. :/ So close to a good experience, but ruined by tricksy billing.
