We decided to give St Louis style pizza a try. We opted for delivered and it was a good experience. It is easy to order on line and the pizza arrived to the promised time, in tact, and hot! This review is really more of a huh? I was told all about St Louis style pizza. The special crust, the provel cheese. So I order it. It's the same weirdly cut thin crust pizza you can get anywhere in the Midwest. There are some better ones and some worse ones. There is nothing special about it. IMO's is always my go to whenever I am back in St. Louis. The past few times I've been back, we have ordered for pick up from the Des Peres location. It is always ready right on time and is hot and freshly made. We usually go with a bacon and green pepper pizza to share, and then individual half salads as well. We also usually get the mozzarella bites, which are the best. I was raised on this stuff so it's near and dear to my heart, but I can see how someone might balk at the idea of the type of pizza they offer. It was not as good as the pizza we purchased at the Imo's location in Kirkwood. I used to look forward to having Imo's when I got into St. Louis but no more. The company owned stores just don't care anymore about quality or the opinion of the customer. We had our entire family in town to celebrate our 40th anniversary and wanted a snack for everyone before the big day. Delivery to Frontenac Hilton was quick and friendly but what we received was not near worth what we paid. $50 for two pizzas, REALLY? Everyone was hungry and we all started to share when I started to chew on something that was not very savory. It was a METAL-TWIST TIE and thank goodness I did not swallow it. I called Dave the manager and told him what we found. I even returned to give him the twist tie and I never got an apology or any notification of appreciation for letting them know what they let happen. Too expensive, no quality or control, no accountability equals no more Imo's for our family. Save your money! There are so many better places in St Louis to dine or gather than Imo's. They read more

He wanted some St. Louis style pizza before heading off so we went with Imos. Ordering is a breeze plus it's quick, cheap, and decent pizza. We picked it up after stopping by Schnucks to load him up with some Urban Chestnut before he left. And, of course, to enjoy with our large sausage pizza. This is not the Imos pizza from the past. I just ordered a pizza with tomatoes and what I got was a quarter of a tomato on a slice. Who wants a quarter of a tomato per slice? C'mon...can't you chop your ingredients? This is what you do! You make pizzas and you HAVE to chop ingredients to put on your pizza. You don't chop the green pepper, you don' t chop the Canadian bacon( yes, a whole round slice of Canadian bacon is slapped on the pizza) and now you don't chop the tomatoes anymore? We ordered and Extra Large Deluxe Pizza minus green peppers this evening ticket Dothage ticket #90 at 7:33 pm. When I got home after picking it up we have sausage, mushrooms and onions. My family and I were in town for a weekend vacation and this is the last place that we decided to eat before making the trek back home. This dining establishment offers what is known as St. Louis style pizza which is essentially pizza cut in squares and made with provel instead of mozzarella cheese. The pizza was good but a bit messy in eating as the cheese was melted but almost had a liquid consistency. I am assuming this is what happens when one switches to a different type cheese but it was okay because we were dining in the establishment. I've been disappointed by the Des Peres store on Manchester before and I'm sorry I didn't catch my husband in time to tell him to order from the Twin Oaks store. We ordered 5 pizzas last night - more than $100 - for an impromptu family gathering. He ordered at 6:15 and was told 30 - 40 minutes. The pizzas arrived late (just shy of an hour), lukewarm, soggy and pitiful. The veggie pizza had a generous portion of veggies, but the pepperoni and the sausage pizzas had so little meat on them, they were difficult to distinguish from the cheese pizza. Seriously. I had two pieces of the sausage and there were a total of 5 pieces of sausage between the two pieces, each about the size of a lima bean. In addition, the pizzas almost entirely lacked spice. All you could taste was provel cheese. That is absolutely the last time. read more

When family mentioned this to the manager and then the owner , the owner suggested that these 55+ yr old daughters were being dishonest ( please!!) and just wanted a FREE pizza.
