My family loves eating here. We recently lost my Stepfather and he loved a slice from East Coast Pizza in chesterfield so in his honor for his birthday, we came in for a pizza pie and a beer. You can order pizza at the counter by the slice or you can order one up their traditional pies or build your own. If you wish they do offer a kids menu as well. You just need to look at it online or ask for the copy behind the counter they do offer a selection of beer and wine along with soda, water, and milk. Make sure you save room for dessert as they do offer hand scooped ice cream, which is always a great treat. This style of pizza is very large and in charge so I always ask them to cut the slices a little thinner, but I love to watch everyone here in the Midwest hold up the giant slices like we're on the East Coast. This family restaurant never disappoints on nice Sunday afternoons on the patio or running in for a quick bite on a busy day. There are low top tables and high top tables rooms for parties of two and parties of 12. The prices are good and the taste is what keeps you coming back. The space is also fairly accessible for wheelchair users, but if it is busy, you may need assistance finding a proper table for your party so ask the cashier and they'll gladly help you. read more

This place was recommended to me, so I popped in one late afternoon on a weekday. They sell pizza by the slice and have lunch specials. I ordered their Spicy Hawaiian pizza slice, a salad, drink and loaded tots. I felt like the pizza's thickness was perfect and the spicy to sweet balance was intact. I enjoyed the fact that I could add flavoring to my sodas on their machine. I made a cherry vanilla Coke Zero. The loaded tots were very good. I think it was a ranch based dipping sauce to tie it all together. I also loved the fact that they use mixed greens for their salads versus just iceberg lettuce. It's the little things! read more

I've associated Chesterfield, MO, with New York-style pizza dating back to the 1990s, when I used to hit Chesterfield Mall after school and dine at the Sbarro in the food court. It was the best New York-style pizza in the area, with the caveat that it was also the only New York-style pizza in the area, that I was aware of. I'd get pizza-by-the-slice with a friend of mine. On the way there, we'd listen to that Elton John Princess Diana tribute on cassingle. We always said that one day we'd buy an entire pizza and share it. At the time, that seemed like such an extravagance. I was raised in crushing poverty. We finally did order an entire pizza once, towards the end of senior year. Things have been downhill ever since. Fast forward upwards of 30 years. (Yikes!) Chesterfield Mall has been bulldozed and replaced with storage for Tesla Cybertrucks and, eventually (probably), some sort of dystopian forced-breeding facility. Sbarro was shuttered in the process. Fortunately, East Coast Pizza has emerged as a suitable replacement. If I'd been thinking, I would have put some Elton John on the ol' YouTube Music on the way there, for old time's sake. I stopped by at about noon on a Saturday. I'm sure the nearby Walmart was a damn mess. If you wanted to, you could have East Coast Pizza for lunch and stop by afterwards for a little people watching. The nearby hot chicken place was once busy to the point where East Coast had to put signs out front marking a few parking spaces as their own (much more dignified than using lawn furniture), but that didn't seem to be an issue when I visited. The bloom must be off of that rose. If it is, that would be at least the third "L" Drake has taken this year. His friends might need to check on him. I once read somewhere, probably on Reddit, that this place does pizza-by-the-slice, so that's what I was there to have. I could eat an entire pizza by myself, and I even once took down about two thirds of a Pointersaurus, but I'm not trying to live like that anymore. I done gave up that narcotic. Everybody's got problems, and I'm trying to take care of mine. They offer a lunch special that comes with a slice, or various other things, one other item and a soda--which was perfect for me, because I was going to get a soda anyway, and I was sure I could find some use for another item. You don't necessarily have to get a slice. You can select two of any number of items, including a salad, five t-ravs, half a stromboli or calzone and probably a few other things. I seriously considered the stromboli or calzone, which seemed like they might be more food, but I decided to go with the salad, which seemed like it might complement the slice more. If I'd been thinking, I would have asked if you could just get two slices. I didn't find the menu to be particularly useful as far explaining what all they carry and what it costs. If there was another, more detailed menu nearby, I didn't see it. I ended up just asking the cashier. I needed to speak with her anyway. She ran down a list of the salads they carry and the pizzas you can get by the slice, which seemed to be more or less all of them. Some of them had goofy names that didn't indicate what was actually on them, like strains of pot at a dispensary that caters to guys with ponytails who wear bathrobes all day long. That ended up being neither here nor there, since of course I was going with the pepperoni and the cae sal. I was given a to-go cup and a number, and I went to find a seat near a window so I could take pictures of my food, as one does. It's kinda dark in there, and it has an ostensibly charming sports bar vibe. It took a bit longer than it took for me to pour myself a Diet Dr. Pepper and have a meeting with a man about a dog for them to bring out my slice, suggesting they didn't just cut me a slice of something they already had sitting there. It didn't occur to me to attempt to observe their process. Do they keep slices of cheese pizza sitting around that they toss a few pepperonis on and put in a warmer for a minute or two, which I'm pretty sure is what they used to do at La Pizza? Is that why you can get seemingly anything they carry by-the-slice? Whatever they do with this pizza (maybe they say a prayer over it like in the movie War Games), it was on point. I don't know enough about New York-style pizza to be able to say for certain, but this might honestly be better than any pizza you can get in New York. The guy from Barstool Sports might need to try this out. One bite, everyone knows the rules. No Diddy. There was a substantial amount of sauce on it, but it wasn't all soupy. The cheese was generously portioned and seemingly real. The crust was crisp, but with a little give to it. The pepperoni was just whatever, but at least it was pepperoni. Holy smokes the beer and glasses are cold here!! Pick your slice in the way in and they stick it in the oven so it comes out piping hot. My wife's favorite, thin crust cheese and I had pepperoni. Not a bad place, not bad food, the service is on par. The atmosphere is alright, a little cacophonous in there with it being a big open space. What I dislike is that you go up to order at the counter, you pay at the counter, and you get asked to leave a tip. How am I supposed to know how the service is before I even sit down and who is the tip for if I leave a tip? Huge dislike on places like that. The food is alright. It's not the best pizza we've ever had. The spaghetti was quite watery and not really a good sauce (in our opinion). Most of the food was left in the bowl, uneaten. Would I recommend it? I was in the mood for some good pizza. We hadn't been here in years but thought we remembered the pizza was pretty good. It's one of those places where you stand in line, place your order, get a number, and choose a table. We chose one of the few clean tables. Most of the tables hadn't been cleared and cleaned. Our salads arrived pretty quickly. I had the house salad and it was decent. There was SO much onion it was ridiculous. And I like onion! Our pizza was very average and a bit light on the meat. While the restaurant isn't the cleanest I've ever seen, it got worse when I went to the restroom. It is absolutely filthy in the back part of the building. Ordering was easy. I ordered first in my friend group. I got a house salad and wings. I sat down and waited for my order. My salad came out first but they messed it up went back to the kitchen and then came back out with it fixed. About 6 minutes later my friends got their pizzas!! A BBQ CHICKEN and a Pepperoni and pineapple. I'm sitting there still waiting on my wings. One of my friends almost finished their pizza before my wings even came out. Sitting about 30 minutes waiting for wings is a bit much. We had to ask about the garlic knots my friends had with their order. People who ordered after us got all their food before all ours even hit the table. Then when we asked someone finally said "we are out of garlic knots and subbing them for garlic bread. The person upfront should have said that. But here's this order if you wanted garlic bread". Was a weird exchange but waiting almost 50 minutes for our order to finally be complete was insane! As I've said before I've had challenges with STL pizza and the provel cheese, but East Coast Pizza provides a great experience for a reasonable price. We visited on a weekend and was able to get seating inside as well as outside. East Coast does have a very diverse menu of appetizers, salads as well as their signature pizzas. East Coast also has an extensive beer selection to compliment your meal as well as local soft drinks. East coast can accommodate large groups but do recommend calling ahead to reserve. Food was served quickly and boy did the hot wings deliver, perfectly spicy with fresh blue cheese dressing. Every else we ordered was delicious and very satisfying. Lots of bread, not much meat, provilone, bagged lettuce, tomato chunks, and banana peppers. Bread was crumbly and too much for the toppings. Wings were next. Decent size, lots of sauce. I ordered a works pizza and I've ate here before usually a great place to grab a slice. And mind you it's usually staffed with college age kids so sometimes it's a little dirty, I accept that as someone who has worked, managed pizza places in my youth. But to be missing half the toppings and have a long thin dirty blonde hair that looks like it was just thrown in there and covered up with bacon bits was a surprise I wasn't expecting along with 2 actual mushrooms and no meatballs or green peppers along with next to no sauce was a little bit much. I've never been to New York so I guess I've never had 'real' New York pizza. I imagine that requires, other than a location in the Five Boroughs, a coal or wood fired brick oven older than I am. I have eaten a lot of alleged 'New York Style' pizza. I grew up on mall food court Sbarro. Before they were purchased by a private equity firm. More recently, Racanelli's and Pizza-A-Go-Go and many others I won't even try to name. This place is as good or better than any of them. For some reason today I was craving a reheated slice of foldable cheesy goodness. Maybe because I stopped at a Sbarro location in a tollway oasis near Chicago recently. Maybe because I'd stopped by East Coast Pizza after a movie the other night when they didn't have any slices. Probably both. Anyway, that itch was scratched in a very satisfying way. There's just something about a warmed up slice vs one from a fresh pie. Maybe it's the way the toppings soak into the crust after sitting for a while. Or maybe I'm just crazy. Service was fine. Good, even. I've been here many times, never had any problems. Ambiance? Photos of Yankee Stadium and Fenway Park hanging on the wall in a place this close to St. Louis is a bold move, but, hey, this is 'East Coast' Pizza after all. They've got some high top tables and some standard ones. The music is just the right volume. Not too loud, not too quiet. The reg Pizza was good for the boys although no alternatives for GF so VERY disappointed, most all pizza joints (even small town home ones) offer an alternative. Got the chicken philly no bun and was great! At advice of employee FF were safe and completely were not and coated so education would be key! Fryer not a problem but coating on them is filled with allergen so now we paid for fries that are going in trash. Do better educating staff and offer more allergen options or unfortunately we will have to look at other options. read more

We FINALLY found it at East Coast Pizza. This is true NY pizza and had everything you could ask for, a perfect crust, delicious sauce and a perfect balance of toppings and cheese. The salad was super light and it tasted like housemade croutons but I forgot to verify. We smashed it before I remember to get a picture. Soda selection was limited (Pepsi products) but I did get a cherry Pepsi (refreshing). Plenty of seating and high chairs. Cheese and peppers on each table with napkin dispenser. Bummer that they didn't have a changing table in either restroom. The staff was so friendly, everyone greeted us when we walked in. The young man taking our order was incredibly warm and made sure all our questions were answered and he even talked us through the process of where to place our number, where the drinks and restrooms were and just overall incredibly positive. We were excited to order from East Coast Pizza as it's our favorite style of Pizza and I love supporting a small local business. I order a 14 inch extra sauce, extra cheese pepperoni & sausage pizza. What I received was a $23 dry pizza (no extra sauce in sight) with barely enough cheese to call it the standard cheese. I called the restaurant and was on hold for 5 min 45 sec with no one answering. I hung up and called back. A young man answered. I asked him if I had placed my order correctly (extra sauce and cheese) he said I had. I ltold him that I just wanted to let him know that I didn't receive that. He stated I should have receive that and that he was busy and had to go. From any business, all I ask is that I get what I ordered and paid for.....nothing free or comped. It is disheartening to know I passed 5-6 other pizza restaurants to order pizza from a local business and couldn't receive what I paid for. Top tier pizza place! They offer true NY style pizza. Nice thin chewy crust, with soft cheese pull MOOOsarella! They also offer sandwiches, salads, Garlic knots and a few desserts. It's tucked away in a small strip mall off the THF. I've passed it a zillion times and never stopped. But, it's worth adding to our rotation of local spots! Service was counter style. On our way out of town, we stopped for pizza here. Here is what we observed: Customer Service 9/10: Everyone was very kind and welcoming. The person taking the orders was patient and explained the menu well. It is best to get the two slice combo meal with a drink for $9.98. Pizza, Pizza! 8.75/10: We got a slices of cheese, pepperoni and the meaty specialty slice. The crust was crisped perfectly and the toppings were plentiful. There was the right amount of sauce on each slice. The soda machine was out of a lot flavors and Dr. Pepper, so that was disappointing. For five of us to eat was $35 plus tip. Old skool bar vibes 8.5/10: The setup of ECP was like an old skool bar. There was plenty of seating, including the patio. A previous Yelper mentioned the place needing upgrades. I disagree with this but the bathrooms were pretty atrocious. There were stains on the floor and our oldest kiddo said there were questionable stains on the bathroom stalls in the men's restroom. Eek. Overall 8.97/10: I would eat here again. The pizza was hot, fresh, and delicious. It was not crowded and the customer service was great. Used to go there every week. Over the summer our order was wrong 3 separate times so we stopped going. Gave them another chance 12/6 at 4:30pm. Ordered our regular- the same salad & pizza we've always gotten since they opened.( Yes, we were one of their very first customers the week they opened and had no customers). Well, at 6:00pm I asked one of the teens to check on our order. No response. We asked 3 other teens nicely to check. None of them did so we continued to sit while the dining area turned over 4 times with customers who came in after us, ate, & left. We asked for a manager.so we could just get our money back since we never got our food. Again, asked nicely & ignored. Finally a female who alleged she was the manager came over, complained how swamped they were. The food came 1 1/2 hours later. However the toppings were wrong. Most importantly it was RAW! This alleged manager never apologized. We weren't giving her grief. We paid you, we didn't get our food, & we only bothered this "too busy to be bothered with this older couple'" lady to simply ask for a refund to go to a restaurant that wanted our business. I hope the owner sees this. Typically I wouldn't waste my time with someone who runs their business this way because eventually it will hit the owners profits when they teach staff that the customer is there to work for them & give them money for bad food/poor service/arrogant attitude. But, it was so blatantly inappropriate to watch teen boys point at us while we sat quietly & patiently that I video taped it. I posted it just in my subdivision on the short drive home & had 532 views. I also brought the RAW pizza dough served in case the health department needs to be notified. So very disappointed that the owner of this place taught his staff that customers don't matter. We were patient. Meaty pizza had burnt bacon, but aside from that it tasted good. Unfortunately the family we came with had almost eaten their entire pizza before ours even arrived. Salad was a no show had to go back and ask AFTER our pizza arrived. House made ranch was watery. Salad had to sit in the container in the car for two hours before I could get it home. Would have been nice to eat it while waiting for the pizza. Tables were all dirty. Several people at the pizza ovens and behind the counter but no one was cleaning or bussing. Service was okay but being FORCED to tip for service before the entire service is actually experienced is icky business. Me and my buddies were traveling through the area and decided to stop here for some food, my friend got the fried ravioli and I ordered the Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich. The fried ravioli came out quickly and was nice and crisp on the outside but not enough cheese on the inside, mostly just meat. But I had to wait about 15 minutes for my sandwich to be brought out to me and there weren't that many people in the restaurant at the time. So I guess order ahead? Anyways the sandwich wasn't that great anyway, it was edible thankfully but the bread was too thick and dry while the steak was mediocre at best. I've been missing my Jersey pizza and was craving white pizza. I did some searching and saw that this place had it on the menu so I had to check it out. We got there when it opened and the place was already getting busy. I loved walking by the pizza ovens and seeing all the pizza slices you should get. Pizza by the slice is the BEST. The decor transported me to home. Their were pictures of Bruce Springsteen, Derek Jeter and Atlantic City. I felt like I was home in NJ. I ordered the white pizza and my husband got the meaty slice and twisted fries. The pizza was very good. The white slice was missing the ricotta cheese that you'd find on the East Coast and was a little heavy on the garlic but still really good. I liked the crust but it wasn't 100% like home. It was a little too firm (I like a bit of the flop when you fold it and the grease dripping down your hand). The twisted fries were tasty as well. A great place for pizza pie made to order or even order by the slice if you are just looking for variety. Our family Of 4 ordered two large pies: half Hawaiian half BBQ chicken and a half Superman & half Mediterranean. I think BYOP is the way to go everything came out fresh, gooey and delicious. The ingredients were fresh and the timing on the crust was perfect, crispy at the edges but soft and chewy crust in the middle. We ate our fill and brought 4 slices (like Costco sized ) back home.
