The salad was nothing special. It was a little smaller than I thought a full would be but still tasted good. I was impressed by how many dressing options they had including lots of light options. The pizza was delicious. They didn't skimp at all on the toppings (we got a deluxe). It was ready super quickly and tasted hot and fresh. The hot wings had a good kick to them but not so much I couldn't eat more than one (and I'm a wimp about spice). I'd definitely order again, but maybe just get pizza. The owner called me twice after my pizza was delivered. I worked in the restaurant service before and a firm believer that your "tip" is earned. However due to me picking up a shift I ordered a pizza for my daughter and in the memo wrote "leave at the door" the driver kept knocking after being told on the camera to LEAVE AT THE DOOR. Located in a clutter of different boutique shops, the sign out front doesn't even say the name, Pointer's, anywhere. Instead, there is a yellow awning that just reads 'DELIVERY [] TAKEOUT'. Had to walk in and confirm I was at a pizza place. Ceilings were noticeably low, being in the basement of a complex. With such a deep kitchen, it was humid & muggy inside. Anxiously raced home for the unboxing of my large, Deluxe, which includes sausage, green pepp, & mushrooms. A notable wide-cut, each slice had a great flop to it. Ordered delivery from here and would NEVER order from here again. Our food was delivered to our hotel and we had ordered soft drinks. Upon noticing the missing item, my boyfriend called to ask about the missing items. Instead of the employee listening and kindly informing us that the item was not added to the order and therefore not charged, he became very defensive stating that the beverages was never ordered. I got to try the pizza after my friends failed and we also ordered wings and the italian sub. Solid solid place that's open late at night. Their pizza (maybe it was because of the pointasaurus challenge) was pretty greasy, especially in the middle, but the crust was great, a thicker, doughier crust. Pointer's seems to usually be a good choice, so I gave 'em a buzz and placed a pretty simple order: 8'' pizza, half cheese half mushroom, and an order of toasted ravioli. The guy on the phone was super nice and took my number and informed me that it would be about a half hour. Not long at all! And $12 for all of that? That's a price I can respect. An equally friendly employee called me when he was outside and I could already feel my hangover fading when I smelled the pizza. It was pretty good! The bad thing about getting thin-crust pizza delivered is that you run the risk of it being soggy by the time it makes it to your door. That was the case here, but at least the outside pieces were crunchy. I'm a huge fan of the sauce on those bad boys, too. The toasted ravioli was pretty standard but A-OK... the marinara sauce gets a sold 4 stars, though. Great flavor, pretty chunky, and overall well-made. To summarize, Pointer's isn't serving up gourmet pizza, but that's not what they're going for. They're a reliable place for carry-out or delivery if you're craving something greasy, and I find it adorable how thrown together this place is. On their menu, they have a typo that reads "sandswiches" that I find endearing. Pointers Pizza has a pizza challenge called the Pointersaurus Pizza Challenge. It's a 28" pizza which weighs in at about 10 lbs. A team of 2 has one hour to finish it and there has to be either 2 meat selections or 4 vegetable selections. If you win, you get $500. Only 17 teams have completed it and 2 of them were professional eaters. So my friend and I figured we wanted to try this challenge. Well. It was a friday and we wanted to practice for it so we got a pointersaurus pizza with just pepperoni on it. I've heard people say that if you're going to get the meat, go with something light like turkey. Well. The pizza box is enormous and barely fit into my rental mazda 6. I had to put the back seats down in order for it to fit. Actually, I almost lost the pizza carrying it to my car because the wind picked it up and almost flipped it out of my hands. So I bring the pizza to my friends place and we time ourselves. Well. We finished half the pizza in 30 minutes before the wall hit us. And my god did it hit us hard. We ate about 5/8 of the thing before throwing the towel in. There was no way we could have finished it in one hour. We actually got so sick of looking at it that we threw the rest of the pizza out. Well. The pizza itself was pretty delicious. It's a thin crust style pizza which really helps for the challenge because there isn't too much bread in it to fill your stomach up. This is definitely a great choice when you want Pizza catered for a large group. I'm normally not a huge cheese pizza person (absolutely never order it), but I have really enjoyed the cheese pizza from here. The delivery can take a while, especially if you order during a baseball game or when Wash U and SLU have their final exams, the delivery might take quite a while longer. However, most of the time I've depended on them, it hasn't been more than 30-45 minute wait. It's definitely a great alternative to Domino's or Papa John's. In fact, I would definitely prefer it any day to the any of these other chains. Another thing I might recommend for a unique experience would be to get a Pointasaurus Pizza. The diameter is 28 inches and is extremely huge. It's great for catering something like a birthday party and will floor anyone who hasn't seen it before. It's simply ginormous. Decided to try pointers for a lazy Sunday dinner. Ordered the toasted ravioli, hot wings and a 12" cheese pizza. Everything was a little mediocre. The toasted ravioli were all breading with little filling. The hot wings where tiny and not as crispy as I was expecting. Yes, not too high of standards of wings from a pizza place but still should be a little crispier. The pizza tasted like a pizza you would pick up from a grocery store. The price also seemed a little bit high for everything that we ordered and even though it was a Sunday night, the wait was over 40 minutes. I ordered Pointers for the first time this Sunday after a night out, and it was really good. The pizza was fresh, gooey and flavorful and the sides were pretty good too. I got a 12" pizza, half order of wings, and a house salad...definitely enough for more than 2 meals. The pizza was your basic, all American pie. Soft crust, red flavorful sauce and mozzarella cheese. With all the thin crust pizzas dominating St. Louis pizza joints, it was nice to get a regular pizza. The dough could have been just a tad softer, but that's just nitpicking. Really I would have probably eaten my entire pizza had I not ordered wings and a salad also. The wings were some of the more flavorful wings I've had, but also some of the greasiest. I ordered them with the hot sauce, and they were pretty good. But unfortunately, they were so greasy that the ranch dressing I dipped them in slid off completely. But hey, they're wings...I suppose they're supposed to be greasy and messy. The house salad was OK. There was definitely nothing fancy going on. Just lettuce, onion, tomato and cheese. And the "house italian" dressing was just packets of Marzetti dressing. I actually ended up just using some of my dressing I had at home instead.
