First time here, and I really enjoyed it.We got "The SPB" pizza. The crust looks thick, but it was light and crisp. The sauce had a really fresh, slightly sweet flavor. The pork sausage was seasoned well and ground up so that it spread well in every bite. The pepperoncini and bacon filled out the flavor. It was really tasty. I got the Tamno Pivo beer to drink. It was a dark lager. It had a nice strong flavor, but not as strong as an Ale. We'll definitely be back. The staff helpful and patient, and the food came out surprisingly fast. It is a fun location and will be a great place to hang out in the nice weather. read more

Getting another stamp in our Pizza Passport!!!! Advise that this place is located across the street from the Side Project Brewery.. There is no indoor seating so if it's Hot (like it was when we went) be prepared. The rain cooled it off a bit. I highly recommend the Fries with Parm and Lemon Aioli for dipping!!! We ordered the SPB Special pizza. It was a bit spicy for us with all the peppercinis. But we kept trying to think What is Missing?? It's cheese!! There is no mozzarella or pizza cheese!! Just Parm. So if you want your pizza with cheese.... This one is not for you. We would not order this one again but would go back to try something else. The service was friendly and fast! read more

I've been eyeing Side Project Pizza for months. Finally got a few people together and made it happen. This is an outdoor seating only area. Has a counter for ordering. I was famished. The good news is that everything tasted good. I love goat cheese on a pizza (and anywhere else). Yet I didn't enjoy the pizza as much as I could have because cool water and ice were in short supply. You had to ask for ice at the counter. I guess you could maybe get cool water from there too. Outside plenty of warm water was available. I know it's the side project restaurant of a side project brewery, but not everyone drinks alcohol, or should drink only alcohol on very hot days. The heat and the difficulty of keeping cool beverages around us made for a meh experience. We were so hot and sweaty. This is the fault of summer more than Side Project. I felt positively gross after sweating it out for a few hours with my friends, lol. I'll keep it in mind, but for fairer weather nights. read more

After a long day of unpacking, the last thing I wanted to do was cook, so we decided to order pizza. Found Side Project online and we selected the Monday, $40 two 2-topping pizza and 4 pack of beer, special. The chicken tenders were the best I've ever had! So juicy and flavorful, and the buffalo sauce I selected as the dip was actually spicy! I also loved that they had a drive thru, which made pick up super easy. Everything was a bit too salty, however, resulting in the negative star. Hopefully it was a one off and things won't be so salty the next time we visit. read more

First time here and we were impressed. We loved the pizza! The crust was just perfect, thicker on the outside but nice and crispy on the inside. They have a really nice patio that you can sit on to have your pizza and a craft beer and it is dog friendly. Side Project pizza has very good pizza on their patio in Maplewood directly across from their main brewery and shop that is my favorite brewery in St. Louis. The pizza we had including the SPB (side project brewing - sausage, Parmesan and bacon) I ordered and the side project Hawaiian pizza and both had excellent quality toppings but we thought both pizzas were a little bready along the edges and discarded some of the crusty ends although both pizzas tasted great especially in their centers. Neapolitan style pizzas are my favorite style of pizza and this was a similar style pie and features a sourdough crust that's really good.. For appetizers we shared a spinach salad with a great dressing and wings with habanero sauce and the wings brought some heat and I loved those. Service is friendly and you order at the window and then give them a table number and they'll bring the pizza out to you if you decide to dine in on the patio and was a great night to eat outside the night I was there but they'll heat it if it's too cool and provide a/c if it's too hot apparently. read more

I've tried coming here twice now and have been straight up ignored. The first was in the drive through and was not addressed or helped to the point where we just left. The second time was this past week we walked up to the window, waited for at least 7 minutes, the guys back turned to the window the entire time. He left the kitchen, delivered food to a table, returned and did not come to the window. Back turned the entire time. It felt like a joke but we literally walked away, which is saying a lot because it's a walk up pizza spot. Not impressed and won't be back to the best of my ability. Side project, known for their award winning craft beers recently opened a pizza restaurant (formerly known as Pizza Champ). I recently visited on 3.14 day to take advantage of their deals and had a great time. You can either order at the window or using a QR cold on the table, and then a server brings the food to you. I ordered their pizza beer, half and half taco/buffalo chicken pizza, and chili garlic wings. Overall the food was good and atmosphere was decent. All the staff were very nice and I look forward to coming back again when the weather is warm! read more

So I feel like Side Project Pizza is pretty much the same product as Pizza Champ other than the pizzas have gone from 18" to 14". Nice flavorful (fermentation) crisp crust and quality toppings. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Pizza (no celery) and I liked it. The chicken is pretty good and the blue cheese crumbles were generous. I thought the pieces of chicken were too large and could be better distributed on the pizza. Otherwise this is a great non St. Louis style pizza option. I'll be back! read more

Forget IMO's. Come here for pizza instead! They're thin crust pizzas but like way better than your classic thin crust pizzas. Seating is a covered outdoors area so I recommend coming to dine in when the weather is nice. We got served pretty quickly and they have some cool drinks on the menu. Got some side project pizza on 314 opening day! The place was wildly busy because it was opening day but even so, staff was friendly and welcoming. They had a good system to make sure folks got their tables after waiting and offered takeout. We got some pizzas and a salad. Everything was pretty good! This is a new addition to Maplewood. The brewery is affiliated with Side Project and then there is also a pizza place. You order from the two businesses separately but sit in a share covered patio. My wife and I stopped in here on a day out. The beer was good. I didn't love the atmosphere. It likely is going to be better in the summer, but in the winter it was just a bit cold and dreary. The shared patio is a bit industrial. I also was not a fan of the fact that the space utilized disposable plates and tableware. It seemed very wasteful. Overall it is an okay place to check out if you are in Maplewood. I think it has a bit of growing pains but will improve with time. Right now I think it needs to distinguish itself from Side Project. Many of the beers overlapped and Side Project Brewery is a nicer space. read more

Giving this a 4 simply because like other reviewers have said, the pizza was OVERBAKED!!!! Cut the temperature by 25 degrees and the time by probably 2 minutes and it will come out better. The crust was so HARD and DRY!!! It was either DARK BROWN or BURNT TO BLACK there was nothing less. Flavor? It was alright but again would have benefited from having been baked properly. I love this new patio spot that opened in Maplewood. I'm not much of a beer drinker anymore but I enjoyed a Paloma which is my favorite summer cocktail! Would definitely love an expanded cocktail menu. The seating is really nice with lots of shade in the hot summer weather. The perfect match to Pizza Champ which shares the space. I didn't love that the QR codes were separate it was a hassle to have to order/pay/tip separately between food and drinks, but it's not the end of the world either.
