I'm a fan of Dewey's pizza and hadn't been there for quite a while for some reason. We finally rectified that and I'm so glad we did! They have great pizzas and salads. Everything is fresh and tasty. They are so consistent! Nothing has ever been "off" when we've had their food. The service is also consistent and we've always had good service. Three of us went there for dinner the other night and ordered two 17" pizzas so that we would have leftovers for a few lunches. It was a lot of pizza! But it's good leftover! Our whole family loves Dewey's Pizza! It's a rarity for all of us to love one spot since everyone has a vast variety of taste preferences but at Dewey's everyone seems to have a favorite dish! Salads are incredible and so are the pizzas! My daughter loves the cheese pizza it has a hint of spice with the pepper flakes and handtossed. Our favorite is getting half and half pizza. My go to is porky fig, and the Bronx bomber, it gives you a mix of a sweet pizza with a more classic pizza deluxe style! Service is always wonderful! Everyone is so kind. My kids are obsessed with watching the pizzas being made. They always toss a funny dough face on the window and toss flour in the air towards them and the kids laugh and love it! Had a party of 9 eating tonight. ($200) bill. Ordered a large (one of three large pizzas) that was 1/2 cheese-Kalamata olive and half veggie. No, absolutely no, sauce on veggie side of pizza and the veggies were stone cold. It appears they tossed the cold veggies on the already cooked pizza and called it a day. Pretty disappointing for a $200 meal for all of us. Why do we continue to go back to this place? I hate cold pizza ingredients. On a positive note the wine was good. read more

We got there around 500pm on a Friday and by 530 almost every table was full. The service was great and the pizza crust was perfect. I really liked the salad as well and was glad to see it was mixed greens and not iceberg. This was recommended from a local family member since we were in town from a different state. Consistently delicious pizza and salad. I just tried their new seasonal watermelon salad with romaine lettuce and green olives. Refreshing and delicious! Always a warm greeting upon entering and great service. My kids love coming up to the pizza window and watching them make pizzas. Food was good but the service was poor. The restaurant had only 3 tables so there should have been some attention made to them. We were never checked on after pizza was served. I got up from the table after no one came for 30 minutes and filled our own beverages. I removed the dirty plates as well. We came in at 730p so not as if it were too close to the 9pm close. At 845p we were brought a check. Unfortunately after this experience we will not come back...I guess side work or whatever they do in the back trumps severing the guest. Such a bummer, as we have been a frequent patron of this Dewey's for the better part of 15 years!! They changed their pizza ovens, to a conveyor belt style...it's impacted the quality of the crust. Massive flop, slightly undercooked & missing some char. Disappointed. I'm hearing the Kirkwood location has the original ovens...that may be our next go too. Service was subpar tonight, must have been off night all the way around...but damn, why did you change the ovens!!!!! read more

Update to the review. Restaurant and food is still excellent. Order online is easy and fast. Customization allows us to get exactly what we want. Curbside service and the staff quickly brings the good to your car. Plenty of parking spots to wait. Just text your name and spot number. Staff extremely friendly. On to the food. Still excellent. The salads are top notch. The pizzas are top notch. I had the beet salad and the peppercorn ranch salad. Both were fresh, crispy, flavorful. I would get both again. I got the 17" pizza with pepperoni and roasted garlic. Delicious. Not greasy. Pro tip. You can get some free dips with the pizza, I selected the ranch and it's one of the best ranch. Horrible experience tonight. I placed my To Go order for a Socrates Revenge pizza ( asked for well done) + salad at 2 pm this afternoon with a desired pickup time of 6:30 pm. When I arrived at 6:30, they told me they were "finishing up my order, that it would be out soon". 20 minutes later I got my order in my car. I don't open the pizza box in the car, but when I got home, discovered the pizza was not "well done", more like "barely cooked". Worse, the Greek Salad I ordered ( with dressing on the side) was delivered with a tomato sauce dressing (OK, it was on the side, as requested). I think this Ellisville location has been pretty successful for them, lots of walk-in patrons, and their pickup service always seems busy. But I'm concerned this "success" has led to sloppiness in their delivery, at least tonite with my order: $45 bucks for an underdone pizza and a salad served with tomato sauce! Maybe tonight was an off-night for them, as I know this happens. But I am concerned with the long-term success of this location based on tonight's experience. read more

I've been here many times and when I tell you it never disappoints! The staff has always been amazing and so kind to us. The food is beyond. The salads are so popular among my friends and family and it's known by everyone. The crust is so desirable and I love how there are multiple sauce options. (Red sauce and white sauce). I love that Dewey's offers a great vegetarian pizza, they have gluten free dough and it was just a heartier and healthier pizza, in my opinion! I was so mad I didn't get that salad as an entree. The pizza is another great find here in the STL metro area, I do think my fellow North Eastern transplants could agree. I hope to return soon. Awesome pizza and salads. Had a party of 9 celebrating a graduation, and we had great service and were able to be seated right away. I seriously think they have some of the best pizza in STL. I really like the concept - just salads, pizza, and calzones as well as the fact you can see directly into the kitchen. Wife and I had the meatball pizza with pineapple and the walnut and grape salad. Children split a Caesar salad and cheese pizza. They also have awesome ranch dressing that I added to my salad. I don't know what happened to this place. Used to be GREAT service. Came in tonight. The restaurant was less than half full. Our waitress (and another one, too) were obviously busy chatting with someone (maybe her friend??) at the bar area and didn't have time or care to refill our water or check on us. My water glass had been sitting at the edge of the table, empty, for the entire night, waiting for a refill that never happened. During the meal, my husband accidentally dropped his knife. It was loud against their concrete/tile floor. We were sitting next to the bar but the little chit chatty group at the bar didn't even cast a look our way. Absolutely FANTASTIC! We went here on a Saturday night and was seated immediately and had prompt service with a friendly server. He took time to explain all of the great options of the menu since we let him know it was our first visit. We ordered a couple salads since we were starving and they were amazing and they came out right away. We followed that up with a phenomenal pizza that had the most delicious crust and just the right amount of sauce. Super fresh and flavorful toppings. They have a decent selection of draft beers and EVERY single person working was so friendly and eager to help you since their system is that they work together. My family enjoys Dewey's because of the many options they have for pizza toppings. While we love their pizza, we really like their walnut and grape salad- that dressing is amazing! I'm a pizza lover and to me, their dough is one of the best replicas of the New York "slice" because let's face it, thin crust is the Pinto of pizza. Our group ordered both the Green Lantern (red sauce, mozz, mushrooms, goat cheese, pesto, artichokes) and Socrate's Revenge (mozz, fontina, green olives, black olives, spinach, feta, onions, tomatoes). They were both absolutely delicious but I would go for the Green Lantern again first. I don't know how I managed to bring two pieces homes.
