This is such a treasure to have at YVR! In my opinion, Paragon is among the best tearooms in Metro…read moreVancouver whether you're into matcha or other teas. The airport location is the only Paragon where you can get vegan ice cream by Mister in vanilla or tea flavours, served on its own or in a drink. I've been indulging in the ice cream stuff here but I've tried pretty much all of their teas either at other Paragon locations or at other cafes that serve them. I think all of their teas are great, but I will caution that the stone-ground teas are significantly more potent than their looseleaf counterparts (particularly the jasmine) and if you aren't used to that, it might catch you off-guard. The Mister ice cream is great! The oat milk ice cream is very smooth and the tea flavours are pleasantly strong. You can get a tea float with any choice of tea latte and ice cream. The vanilla ice cream or doubling up on matcha tea/ice cream are the safe choices but I tried the combo of hojicha latte and Thai tea ice cream and that worked really well. The matcha ice cream/genmaicha shot affogato was also delicious. I was kind of worried that the matcha ice cream would cover up the nuance of the genmaicha and it would all just taste like matcha, but I could taste the genmaicha just fine, and if anything, the matcha ice cream enhanced the genmaicha flavour rather than the other way around. The baristas here are very friendly and professional. Every time I've come here they've done a good job preparing the tea. I haven't noticed if the prices here are the same as the other Paragon locations, but they're basically in line with what high-end matcha drinks usually go for in Vancouver.

I had been wanting to try this spot for some time now, and have heard really good things! The employee was very kind and took the time to explain their drink selections, as well as the process for making their matcha drinks. They hand-craft each drink and you can instantly tell the difference between Paragon's matcha and other matcha places. I chose the matcha coconut refresher with coconut water and it was DELISH! Such a refreshing drink! I recommend Paragon Tea Room if you're going through the airport and are looking for a nice, refreshing beverage to start or end your journey!

I ended up ordering a coffee, sausage, egg and cheese croissant and some timbits (plus a bottle of water for the flight). I waited maybe 5 minutes for my croissant, but it was hot and a perfect breakfast before a flight. I'm taking the Timbits home to share with my husband since he didn't get to make the trip with me. There was a short line of travelers grabbing their final Tim Hortons fix, and with only one worker that morning, the wait was a bit longer--but still totally reasonable. There are a few tables, but given its airport setting, it's primarily a grab-and-go spot. - Iced Latte -- simple shot of espresso over cold milk; I opted for no syrup and it made for a clean, refreshing midday caffeine kick - Honey Cruller -- light, airy, beautifully honey-glazed; perfectly fried and not too heavy, my first time trying a cruller and I loved it Once we placed our order, service was quick. Ambience is standard airport vibes--wasn't too busy when we went, though I'm sure it fluctuates depending on flight schedules since it's tucked between multiple gates. Overall, this location isn't as modern or spacious as the Bridgeport Road Tim Hortons, but it definitely hits the spot for one last Tim Hortons craving before heading out of Canada!

Lots of locally made food is available. I like this place because it gives you an authentic taste of Vancouver and because it punches above its weight in terms of quality for the type of restaurant it is. The baked goods are sourced from reputable local bakeries. The main supplier used to be Purebread but seems to have switched to Swiss Bakery, which I was initially skeptical of because I feel like Purebread is hard to beat, but the Swiss Bakery chocolate pecan bar I got was quite good. The hot food bar (rotisserie chicken and various sides that can also be ordered on their own) is very good for pre-cooked food. The flavours are interesting and it feels like healthy food. The fresh-made sandwiches were also very good (especially the smoked salmon bagel sandwich), and the stuff from the grab-and-go fridge is probably also the best airport grab-and-go I've tried. The pizza was kind of a letdown. The crust was too dry and crispy, and the cheese was kind of oily. They used a blend of cheddar and mozzarella, and I think just mozzarella would've been better. I don't like to promote the big chains, but I think that Vino Volo has a better veggie pizza. The coffee and tea are pretty good! The coffee and chai is from Parallel 49th Roasters. I especially like the chai! The people working here are friendly most of the time. Sometimes you get a cashier who comes across as indifferent and mentally checked out. There's a decent amount of seating behind the shop area. Some of the tables have outlets. I see staff cleaning often.

The walls are decorated with pictures from Europe and the teacups are very "British." Besides scone and tea, you can get regular food here as well such as fries, salt & pepper chicken, and radish cake to name just a few. You can also get cold drinks like juice & bubble tea, and bubble tea drinks here too. So...not your typical British style Afternoon Tea joint. Kind of half restaurant, half tea place. My friend had a pot of Leisure Fresh Fruit tea and a scone. We'd already had lunch a bit earlier and while my friend had room for a scone, I had zero room in my stomach for any food so I just had a pot of Longan Red Date tea. It was a cold day so a pot of hot tea really hit the spot. I thought it a bit pricy at first, but when the tea came, I saw that the teabags were Fortnum & Mason teabags. That is a very a prestigious company from all the way over in England. When I realized we were drinking Fortnum & Mason tea, all of a sudden $10.25 didn't seem so extravagant any more. My friend said her scone seemed like more of a biscuit than a scone. It came with butter and jam. I think she wished there had been some clotted cream to go with it. I can't say too much about the food as I only had one pot of tea but I was impressed that it was Fortnum & Mason tea, and I very much enjoyed the flavor of the Longan & Red Dates in my tea.
