I ordered a strawberry cheesecake muffin. The worker gave me a muffin that looked nothing like the picture, so I asked him if it was the correct one and he told me it was. i took a bite and it tasted nothing like strawberry or cheesecake. i told him again it was the wrong muffin and he told me i was mistaken. I pointed to the exact same kind of muffin that was on display and it read "walnut carrot cake." i pointed out that the muffin read walnut carrot and the worker finally admitted he was wrong. he offered me a refund or a replacement pastry and i told him i just wanted my strawberry cheesecake muffin, to which he replied they were "out." i told him id take a chocolate chip cookie instead, and i walked away after he put the cookie in a bag. after getting to my gate, the cookie was oatmeal raisin, not chocolate chip. My husband and I were flying home from Vancouver and wanted to grab a quick snack before we boarded the airplane. We stopped at Tim Hortons. I ordered a Crispy Chicken Wrap and Potato Wedges. The Chicken Wrap was okay, but the Potato Wedges were fabulous! I was so busy shoving them in my mouth, that I forgot to take a pic. They were like a thick cut French fry that was really crispy. Decided to try out Tim Hortons while on a quick layover at Vancouver International. I'd never had it before so was interested in trying it out to see how it was. There also wasn't too many food options in the area if the airport that I was in so another reason I opted to try this. Upon walking up, there was a line which took about 7-10 min to get through. Seems like a pretty common spot for travelers to grab food at the airport. The wait was fine though and the line did move. When I got to the counter the place my order, the staff member was friendly. I was relatively hungry so I opted for the chipotle cheddar chicken wrap and and a bagel B.E.L.T on an everything bangle. The food overall was okay. The egg in the bagel sandwich was over cooked but the rest of the sandwich was solid. The wrap was also solid but the chipotle sauce was a bit heavy handed so it was quite saturated.the chicken though was tender and the wrap texture was great otherwise. read more

Tim's Pre-Security in the International Terminal - did you just land in Canada and need a first hit of Timmie's? Or are you picking someone up and they're delayed and you need some caffeine to get excited to see them? In either case, this location has you covered. Unfortunately, the line moved pretty slow, but you still get five-star Tim's food when your order is called. Tim's Post-Customs in U.S Departures - need to import Timbits to the states? This Timmies has you covered. Unfortunately, as there aren't many other food spots in this part of the airport, the line is a bit of a monster. The three-person team at the register was doing all they can, but made-to-order sandwiches take time and the line is even slower than the other Tim's! It's not the best but it always brings me back to my first visit to Canada. So it's more nostalgic than anything really... and now traditional, in a sense. There's a lot of foot traffic here so you're bound to wait in a line. It definitely helped pass time since I had a 4-hour layover. The app says they are open when Security and Customs open at 4:30am. My flight was at 5:15am. I came to the airport early to grab Tim's as my Google search showed it would be the only thing open that early. But they don't actually open till 5am. I was asked not to wait in line when I arrived at 4:41 because the manager didn't want there to be a rush when he opened. He told me he would come get me once he opened the gates. They actually started taking customers at 5:04a. They didn't have several of the menu items available - including any donuts. They weren't exactly exciting food options, but they were palatable and easy enough to eat. My family shared the two sandwiches and it was enough to hold us over until we got home. I would equate Tim Horton's to McDonald's - they kinda serve up everything (breakfast, lunch, dinner etc). The quality is okay, BUT, it is exactly what you expect for this price tag. Tim hortons is very popular in Canada and can be found almost everywhere. This Tim hortons is located in the airport at the bottom of the escalators. The line is very long because there are constantly people arriving at the airport. They only have 2 registers which makes it difficult to get your order in. However once your order is placed you get it right away. Any donuts that are ordered are made right there and then the hot food is brought out a couple minutes later. They have many different sandwiches and also donuts. Very good. They have a timbits special right now that if you purchase 10 after 1 pm it's only $1 when you purchase a beverage. This one, in the US Preclearance area, seems to handle their volume okay-- they get mobbed vs. the smaller one a few hundred feet further to the end of the terminal-- -- but the seating is just-adequate, things seem a little messy due to not enough trash cans/recycling bins, and the hot food is mediocre. When one has an early departure, it is essential that the said traveller starts his day with a LARGE cup of joe to make the day's travel bearable. In addition, if said traveller has two young rug-rats in tow, a couple blueberry muffins and some Timbits (it's what they call donut holes at Tim Hortons) definitely helps to start the day right. Located very close to the International Departure gate 82, therefore making it very convenient if you're traveling out of this area. Being from the good old US of A, our exchange rate is exceptionally good (for now), making even the prices at the airport a virtual bargain. No other than Tim Horton's! Ever since I got to Vancouver I had this place on my bookmarks and I was so happy to see one at the airport. I stopped by before my flight to try Tim Horton's for a late breakfast. I got a egg sandwich biscuit with sausage combo with hash browns and a cappuccino. It was $3.26 for the sandwich and hasbrowns and $2.00 for the cappucino. I also got some Canadian maple donuts for my cousin and myself for later. Donuts are 99 cents. I was pleasantly surprised at how fair the prices were. Considering this is at the airport and considering how popular Tim Horton's is, I thought it was pretty good prices! Both the breakfast sandwich and the donut later were delicious. It's typical breakfast fare but it is good. It was nice to try out a little taste of Canadian fast food.
