During this review I am going to compose myself to the best of my ability, since this company has pissed me off to a level of pissed off that i have never been in my 37 years. We booked this company 3 weeks ago for a move. They told us we were the first move of that day and we had an appointment of 8am Saturday morning. Thursday before our move we get the confirmation call... Now we are at 11am.. This is fine with us, we just need to move. 10:30am Saturday morning day of the move. My wife received a call that they are running behind and that we are now moved to 5pm IF NOT SUNDAY Morning.... Yes Sunday morning... They have to call us back to confirm. By 1:30 we have not heard back from them. I call get someone that has no idea about my situation... I'm then told the owner will call.... NO CALLS at all not one. I called that number 25 times and left 5 vmails. It's the 30th and I have to be out by the 31st and this place dosent call me. I sat at my condo until 11pm that night all my clothes are packed, all my food is gone since we made it so we didn't have to move food... My 2 dogs are stressed out at this time and oh did I mention I ended the electric for that night since we were moving out.. Could I have ended the electric on Monday or Tuesday? Yes I could have.. But I didn't expect a company with this high of rating to be as completely unprofessional as they were. So Saturday night no power no ac apartment full of boxes totes and bags with no tv eating pizza in the dark. How could anyone run a company like this... How unprofessional are you? Use any other movers but these guys don't let this happen to you. In fact call these instead they are amazing and really helped us when others lied..... Update---- I wrote this review the day after they never showed that was July 31st it's Aug 2nd. You would think that with the move being scheduled for July 30th and after all they did us that I would have received a call the first business day back? Right? Wrong no call just both numbers going to vmail...no one has called and talked to us... Update as of 8/9/16 more calls placed still no return call. read more

I used them in 2015 and had no problems. 2016 Was NOT the same experience. The guys that did the packing SEEMED to know what they were doing, however, when the load arrived, the boxes clearly marked HEAVY were on the top of the load, several had fallen as they were NOT SECURED PROPERLY, and I had a LOT OF DAMAGE. They did NOT HONOR my claim AT ALL!! They said "IT'S NOT OUR FAULT, ALL WE DID WAS PACK IT AND LOAD IT. Another company drove it to FL, it is obviously their fault." REALLLLLLLY I'd NEVER recommend this company again - they have NO INTEGRITY!!! I do have pictures of the damaged items - they totally destroyed a printer stand that was extremely sturdy, but couldn't sustain a HEAVY box falling on it!! Other items damages had been handmade in China when I was there and had it shipped home. It made it just fine from around the world but not from IL to FL!! REALLLLLLLLY read more

Illinois Moving Systems is likely a very poor economic choice. I was quoted a move at a price of $1,372 and ended up paying over $2,000 because of extra time. The movers were okay, but I definitely felt the sticker shock of an extra $800 relative to the price quote. Estimates should NEVER be that far off. I couldn't be MORE DISASTISFIED!!! I wouldn't recommend this company to someone I disliked. They are terrible. First the nicked and gouged up my bedroom furniture which is an heirlom from my grandmother! I told the office that it was very important that they take very good care of it. Then they said they'd use runners and I even reminded the guys moving my things, who most of them didn't speak English, that I wanted runner used as our carpet was just cleaned and the other carpet at the new home was new. They not only didn't use runner except on the stairs their shoes were filthy! There's dirt every where! They lost the casters to my heavy bedroom furniture and then to top it off they left empty bottles of Gatorade at the end of the driveway in the LAWN! They didn't wrap my expensive rug and used the padding under it as the "wrapping" that came inside BLACK and grimmy with a couple tares! The pad is very thick and expensive as well. This company doesn't CARE, when I called the office about my experience and spoke to Joanne she acted like she didn't know anything! I WOULD NEVER USE THIS COMPANY! OH, AND AS I ENTERED MY GARAGE CODE INTO THE KEYPAD THE MAIN MOVING GUY WATCHED THE PAD CLOSELY! I'VE ALREADY CHANGED THE ACCESS CODE. DISTURBING! read more

Best kind of move is one where you barely break a sweat. Illinois Moving Systems did a great job moving us, taking care to wrap all furniture and breakables, were on time and worked efficiently. They took time to make sure the truck was properly packed so items wouldn't shift in transit. I'd use them again in the future! read more

This is the second time I used Illinois Moving Systems. I called them a second time, based on my good experiences with them for my first moving job. The most outstanding aspect of their work, both the first and second time around, was the involvement of the movers to do a good job. I had to separate out important boxes on the fly, making quick and difficult choices on what was to be discarded and what was to remain. The movers put their heads into helping with the task, reading the labels and actively working with me to make the decisions. In a few cases, a mover noticed a box I had missed that looked important, and brought it back up on his own for me to look at. You have to look hard for that type of commitment. Furthermore, there was a lot of stuff, and the movers worked long and fast. The clerk at the storage lockers, who actually saw them packing the stuff into the truck, commented on how fast they worked. This company remains my first choice for any moving job. read more

I hired two movers (Josh & Alex) to come load a storage container and wasn't expecting the outstanding service I received. The movers were, quick, efficient, friendly and very reasonably priced. I was worried all my things wouldn't fit into the container, and they packed it so perfectly, there was room to spare. I even requested the same movers to come unpack the container at my new location, even though they were a bit out of the service area. They were even quicker unpacking! Overall, it was a great experience. I've moved over 5x in the past several years, and I've never been more pleased with the movers than with Illinois Moving Systems. DO NOT USE! Used them last year, were very late and very slow. After I moved in, realized they damaged my TV. They had given me proof of insurance prior to move and they said they would take care of it. A number of emails, calls, and WEEKS pass by and I start to get the feeling they're giving me the run around. I call the insurance company directly and they basically state I got scammed, they don't cover the company, and that the moving company went "bankrupt". Try to call back and this company completely stop taking my calls and returning emails. Out $1000 for a television. I basically gave up after finding out they went "bankrupt" and 1 year later, return to find new movers and find them up on yelp. riigghhtttt... SCAM ARTISTS to the highest degree. Used this company to load a container going from Palatine to the St Pete/Clearwater, Florida area - Dave was great in his estimate - came in under budget (and stayed there, no hidden fees) even came out a few more times to baby-sit our concerns. Daniel, Ceasar and Bonito showed up on time, courteous, quick and very respectful of our treasures - we've now unpacked about 90% of the multitude of boxes and so far not a single broken item - only casualty was a picture glass which "Himself" packed, not the Il Move people. Would recommend this company in a heartbeat - since we will be visiting the Chicago area every summer, we will tell everyone about them! Way to go, guys! read more

Very unhappy with this company they broke my daughters bed ( it was a 1600 dollar bedroom set which is useless now the bookcase attached to her bed is gone!) when they moved my things into my new home after it was in storage, they give me a whopping 100 dollar credit, big deal. But what is really unfortunate is that after so much going on and finally after a few months of construction and painting going on in my home and getting out of boxes, I realize the trundle part of her bed is GONE, so are the glass shelves from my antique cabinet, and I had a big longerberger basket full of matches that my family and I had collected for over 30 years, its GONE...gee I wonder what they did with that??? Thieves! I called David to ask him where my things are??? and he never returned my call, why should he he got his 1252 dollars. read more

I have used Illinois Moving Systems seven times in the past. I kept choosing them because not only were the movers fast, they always went above and beyond for me. In the past, for example, when I was a single pregnant mother, the two man crew worked past the amount of time I could afford, to help me. Because I was a loyal customer who have used then numerous times, the manager at the time, Bob, always gave me a great rate and remembered me by name. I have written rave reviews in the past on social media regarding this company. However, for this recent move I found out there is new management. A representative actually came to my house and gave me a written quote (out of 7 past moves, never have I had a rep come to my home personally and give me a quote). When I asked about Bob, I was told he is not with the company any longer and a new manager is in place. I was impressed with the service to this point. When it came down to the actual day before my move, I never received my confirmation call from Joanna, so I called them. There was a mistake is scheduling on their part, but the new manager, Nick, graciously fixed the problem....The day of my move, the moving team called me to tell me that the scheduled time (1 pm) would not happen as their truck had broken down. I was understanding of course...At 6:30 pm, they arrived (2 man team, as I have always used). It was evident immediately that these guys were tired before they began. My estimate was quoted at 4 hours total. I knew the quote was accurate because, once again I've used this company 7 times in the past ten years... This was the WORST moving experience I have had. Not only did it take 4 hrs to just load the truck (double the time it should have), but these men were verbally in pain, verbally aggravated, and they worked at my new home, which was literally a 30 second commute around the block, until nearly 1 a.m.! The men worked very hard, and again they were visually physically in pain. I am in the medical field and it was appalling to watch them moan & groan. I called the company several times with no response. The new management seems ill equipped and completely unprofessional. I am sad to write that this company is no longer my choice, and it had lost any recommendation from me or my associates. Not only was my final bill very much higher than the quote (remember this quote was given after a walk through in my old home), the management's failed response to my numerous voice-mail is unprofessional. I was given a crew that was already exhausted and I charged double because of it. I have not received any apology or response to my 3 voice-mail messages. Not only do I not recommend this company....I warn you. This was an abhorrent experience. Many, many more disturbing things about it happened, but I do not want to bash the movers, as their behavior is a result in the company's ignorance. I will never recommend this company again. How sad that they have fallen from my first choice to NEVER AGAIN. read more

Used them in July of 2015. They broke several large pots/planters due to their negligence. I called several times and spoke with their sales person. Both he and the moving manager for the move took pictures and promised to have the owner send a check for the cost. It is now June 2016 and still no word or check. We are only talking $100. They remind me a bait and switch operators. read more
