Do not hire this incompetent company. They are not even capable of showing up for an estimate. First,they had to reschedule the initial estimate because John was sick. Fine. Rearranged my schedule to be there at 4 o'clock on Friday. 415. No one called me. I texted the woman who made the appointment. She said John was stuck in traffic and he would call me. Shocking traffic on a Friday afternoon the weekend before Christmas?!? John called me. He said he was just getting on the freeway and was an hour and a half away. I rearranged my schedule again. I told him I would be there till six. He said that's fine. He would come after his next appointment. 630 he still had not called me or come. I called him and the woman who scheduled the appointment several times left messages and text. no one ever had the courtesy to call me back If they are not capable of doing an estimate, or courteous enough to communicate, I would not hire this company ever for a job. will tell all of my friends not to hire them. read more

We had our whole house insulated by this company in the fall of 2024. They were reasonably priced. But to my disappointment, some of my walls towards the bottom was very very cold. It was apparent that the insulation that they blew in did not make it to the very bottom of some of the walls. We did not realize this until we had some very cold winter days. I sent an email to Benny and to my surprise he called back and came the next day. He confirmed that my findings were correct. He promised that his crew would come back the next week to blow in more insulation and I would get a call letting me know the time frame. No call, I called and was told the timing of the visit. That time came and went. I called that evening to ask what happened. No return call. I had to call again the next day and they said they left me a message... nope, they did not. I do have voice mail. They then apologized for not letting me know. And they would call soon with a new date. Never happened. Because I was tired of waiting, I requested a small refund to purchase foam insulation to do it myself. Benny wanted to talk about it, but I was done. 1. I don't think they use reputable laborers. 2. The owner should come back to check on their work. 3. They have no communication skills. read more

I would not recommend this company. I wrote a review for BBB and it is posted below. I wouldn't want what happened to us to happen to anyone else. We have found another company who confirmed the damages in our home and is helping us remedy the situation. *** Illinois Insulators recommended removal of our insulation to install new insulation in our attic space in October 2022. It took a year and a half but we noticed that we began having condensation buildup in that space. The attic is connected to a living space for our family and is behind knee walls. We were concerned with the amount of moisture we discovered in 2024. Not only that, but we have a pipe in that space that was not insulated at all by them (or even addressed by the company) that burst in Jan 2025. It wasnt a huge burst, thankfully, but enough to cause concern as to why these werent insulated. We asked them to come back in Dec 2024/Jan2025. We were told that they could reinstall the insulation as it was in 2022 for a price. So basically, they would fix their errors for a fee. We just wanted the work done properly so we were going to agree to have it completed. However, the day they came back to evaluate and begin work in the space, they were going to install batt insulation on a WET roof deck. We decided not to go through with the install and contacted *****, the owner. He never returned the email or call. After that day, I contacted three other companies who all agreed we had significant damage to our attic, roof deck, mold, and we needed to have a proper clean up and reinstallation of insulation in the area.There are more details to this story but the basics are that Illinois Insulation improperly installed insulation in our attic which caused thousands of dollars in damage. We gave them an opportunity to correct their work and do the right thing by the customer. They chose not to, which shows the lack of customer care, integrity, and honesty by their company.I would not recommend using this company. I would not trust them to do quality, safe work in your home. I asked for a refund to help pay for the current damage and they refused. Update as of this BBB review, the owner did email (after I wrote the BBB review, as required by BBB). He said he could not refund our money as this was a purchased service and he could not do that. After all of this, I would not trust their company in our home, even if it was free...which they never offered to do. read more

Simply put, we hired Illinois Insulators to beef up our insulation that was resulting on cold floors and freezing kitchen and washer pipes. We waited until the snow melted and the weather warmed since they needed to get at the outside to check things and there was a lot of snow on the ground - big mistake. PRO TIP: If you need insulation, do it when it's still cold out, that way it can be Flir gunned before and after. We thought our worries were gone when the job was done - WRONG. The area, mostly our kitchen, felt colder than before and then the pipes started to freeze again,I could feel a breeze from where the cabinets met, and our dishwasher interior was really cold. I reached out to Steve and at first he was responsive and when it came time to have them come back and assess, he wasn't. I eventually turned over communication to my husband because he wanted to talk about what could be done to remediate and I didn't want to play a game of telephone. Steve was completely unresponsive to him. So here we are with a cold kitchen, cold floors, sink items piled by the back door, feverishly checking the weather reports, and pissed. While Illinois Insulators didn't cause the initial issue, it seems to have been exacerbated by adding insulation. Needless to say, I don't recommend them and we won't be using them to fix things. read more

We hired the company to do both the crwal and our Attic in 02/24. There was shady workmanship from the start and since the company only had half of the payment they came back out and fixed the crawl. Now in December we have water leaking in our attic into our bathroom from the redirected bath exhaust. We have reached out to the company 3 times requesting they come out and look at the damages and we are being ignored. We also requested insurance information to file a claim for damages and both Mr. Benny Vidito and his wife Mrs. Sam Vidito refused to return calls or respond. We were forced to file with the BBB retain other quotes and will be filing in small claims court if the insurance carrier information is not provided. I would not recommend this company. Wife is rude and very unprofessional to work with. They dont back their work and claim its a family owned business yet all calls are directed back to husband and wife. read more

They fixed a mold issue in our attic along with replacing old insulation for new one. Although at times it was hard to get ahold of them, they delivered an amazing job. They were great with communication before they began the job and were priced competitively but once the job was done I contacted my contact and let him know that I was unhappy with the level of improvement their sound proofing job did at my place. I let him know and he said he'd reach out the the guy in charge of the work. Never heard for the guy. I contacted the guy I set everything up with and he gave me the installers number. Our house was built in the late 80s, and we knew that it probably needed an upgrade in the insulation, but we also had an exterior wall that was never insulated, and anytime the temps got really cold I always worried. I called Illinois Insulators based on reading some good reviews, and I was very happy that I did. Steve the estimator came out in a timely manner and gave us advice about what we might want to do to improve the insulation, but I never once got the feeling that he was pushing work that was unnecessary just to pad the estimate. The crew showed up on the appointed day and worked very hard, and left our entire house exactly the way they found it. They vacuumed after themselves and everything was very tidy when they left. Positive experience from start to finish! The sales call measuring the space, assessing the need, outlining the quote, and describing the service to be rendered was thorough and informative. Pricing was very competitive. We were having them add insulation to the attic in our townhome and to install insulation in the ceiling above our garage. My job was completed on 11/10/21 with a couple of issues. The overall project included crawl space encapsulation (foam seal insulation around rim, wrap the walls, and install vapor barrier on floor. They also foam-sealed the rim of my entire basement and blew in additional insulation in our attic. I was very appreciative of Steve that he informed me of the rebate available for the attic insulation. I received three quotes from different companies and felt Illinois Insulators was the right choice and the price was extremely competitive. At the end of the project everything looked good. Unfortunately, my exuberance was short lived as the tape holding the vapor barrier in place against the wall from the basement started failing, exposing a gap. Shortly thereafter, as I moved around in the crawl space insulating air ducts, I found a spot that was missed with spray foam as air was pouring in. While mistakes happen, my issue has to do with the way it was dealt with by management. These guys are very difficult to reach and I have never been able to reach anyone in their office. It appears that you need to stay on top of the sales person who sold you the job. I expressed my concerns with Steve and he had Kevin contact with me. I received my first message from him on 11/17 and the job finally got corrected on 12/6. I did not appreciate the tone of the messages exchanged with him nor the amount of time it took to get someone out to finish the job. If you contract with Illinois Insulators I hope your job goes well. If you have an issue, be prepared for a runaround trying to get it resolved. I also suggest that you ask them for data sheets on the products they are putting in so you know exactly you received. Hopefully they fix their shortcomings so people don't have to jump through hoops to reach them and get issues resolved. read more

Luke, a company representative, came out after our initial call and gave us an estimate and walked us through the process. He wasn't pushy at all, and gave us several options to choose from. Our home was in drastic need of attic insulation. We had approximately 6-7 inches of insulation, just enough to cover the rafters. The second floor was always colder than the first. And to add to the cold, our master bedroom is above the garage. I originally called two big name insulation companies and was quoted at an astronomically high amount. Being pretty handy, I was thinking of doing it all myself. After doing a lot of research, I decided to leave it up to the professionals. I saw Illinois Insulators on yelp, they had great reviews. Decided to give them a call not expecting much of a difference. The owner, Kevin, came to our home. We discussed options and gave us a honest, realistic estimate on BOTH our attic and garage! Kevin reassured me the ease of insulating my garage with little to no blemishes. We are extremely happy with the finished product. Our second floor is finally warm! The Illinois Insulators crew were very professional and clean. I highly recommend them. Do not use! Look elsewhere! The salesman, Steve, is just that, a salesman. I told him what I needed and he tried selling me on other stuff. After he came over for a quote his only means of communication is through text. He will not call back to address your concerns. He made a promise that his guys will take care of a certain issue (venting a fan). When the guys were finished (I was pleased with them) I told about them about the issue that Steve said they'd take care of. They pretty much rolled their eyes as if it's not the first time a customer was lied to. After about 2 weeks of no calls back from Steve I called the company and a message was left for the owner to call me back... which he did not. I called back and eventually got in touch with him. I told him my concern and he told me he'd look up my order and call me right back... which he did not. When I called back he admitted that he should've been more professional and gave me a number for someone else to vent the fan. Save your cash, go elsewhere. read more

I've been needing to get my attic insulated and happened to find a Groupon for Illinois Insulators. It was the perfect opportunity so I went for it. I called them and set up a consultation; guy named Kevin came by the house and measured the coverage we'd need. He had a thermal gun (like in Holmes on Homes!) so we could actually see the cold and hot spots. He was quick, straightforward and thorough. He gave me options about where I needed more insulation like in the walls, overhang etc What was refreshing was that he wasn't pushy about it, so that was great. I gave the go ahead for them to do the insulation in the attic and was able to set it up to happen in the following week. The guys were very nice and covered stuff with a tarp to make sure they didn't get dust/dirt on it. Even then there wasn't much if any. They were in and out in about 2 hours. Cleaned up after themselves and also showed me what the attic looked like after insulation. So it was great! Will definitely go back to them to do the rest of the insulation in my house in the future! read more

Fantastic. All around. Could not have been better. Really. As good as it gets for sure. Luke, our sales guy, popped by for a quick visit, evaluated our flat roof/no attic situation for blow-in cellulose, sent us a quote the same day. He knew what he was talking about, he's clear with his terminology, I knew he wasn't being a smarmy sales guy, there was no pressure....Bam, professional all around. So we hired them. And you should too. Two guys arrived spot on time, laid out a tarp up our stairs, cut a hole and got to work. In under two and a half hours they filled our vacuous insulation-less ceiling and patched the hole back up. Patched the hole, folks. Not everyone does that. After some minor clean up, they gave my husband the bill -- exact to the penny of the quote. Amazing. Best yet? Our upstairs is soooooo much more comfortable now. While they are not a participating company with the utilities for rebates as those programs costs everyone more money, it's all good as they are able to offer lower, more competitive prices. I'm just so impressed with these guys and the way the whole process went. I'd call them back in a heartbeat. read more

Today we had a great experience. It all started out a week ago when our estimator John came by and we explained all of our concerns. Today they were very professional, efficient, and entertaining. They did a great job of cleaning up after themselves. Great bunch of guys - Sal the foreman, Justin, Christian, Sean, and "D". We had blow-in cellulose injected into 3 levels of our home in the exterior walls, and in the unfinished portion of our basement, they used batt insulation between the joists. Overall, it was a very fair price, and they delivered what they promised. I am very pleased by the service and I can already feel the difference in our home. read more

I really appreciated that these guys were fully engaged in diagnosing and solving my insulation problems rather than just trying to come in and stuff more insulation in. They put a lot of thought into their solution which appears to have completely solved my "cold bedroom over the garage" and freezing pipe problems. They were very professional and cleaned up well after the job. They came out quickly to give me an estimate which they turned around that night, and they mobilized to do the work later that week. I was surprised at the poor quality of service these guys provided both during and after the work was completed. There were a few initial hiccups when they didn't have a permit in my town, but they finally came and did the job. Unfortunately they ended up ripping open an 8" hole in my roof while cutting an access hole to my upper attic, but then they then covered it up without saying anything. I found out when rainwater started pouring in through the seams of the poor patch job one evening some time later. When I called to discuss this with the Project Manager, he and the President/Owner refused to look at the damage and started insulting me when I pressed them. I had to open a case with Better Business Bureau for them to pay for professional repair of the roof and interior. This took months to resolve and was a royal pain. There are lots of insulation companies out there, and I would suggest you chose another one. read more

Guy came to our house to give us a free estimate. Seemed super nice and professional. I've been trying for six months to get ahold of the man to follow up on his quote and do the insulating job, but he won't return my calls or emails. NOW GET THIS. I was worried they went out if business or something, so I called again and left a message implying I was a business owner with a big insulation job to do. The guy called me back the very next day thinking he got a big fish in the line. Giving a quote and not following up is very unprofessional. Middle class families with small houses to insulate need work done too-- and if they aren't willing to follow up on the reasonable estimates they give, other consumers should know about this poor behavior. read more

Had fiberglass blown into attic and spray foam in basement joists. Attic was done faster than I expected and the crew cleaned up after the job. Spray foam in the basement wasn't completed properly the first time (possibly due to the trainee doing the work). But IL Insulators came back and made sure the job was done right! read more

I had foam sprayed on my rim joist, cellulose injected into my garage ceiling, and cellulose injected into some walls. Their estimate was reasonable. The estimator, Ryan, pointed out that an estimate from a competitor included spraying insulation onto the cinder blocks between my townhome and the one next door was unnecessary. They came the very next week and did the job. I took off one star because they left ugly holes that were plainly patched. They didn't have an option to have it sanded and painted to match the rest of the wall. My utility bill this winter is lower in part to this and the attic insulation I had done by another company. My garage ceiling is under the master bedroom. The floor is no longer cold thanks to the insulation. read more

I've dealt with my fair share of crappy contractors and wanted to give credit where credit was due to the good ones. We dealt with Steve from Illinois Insulators. He came out and did a thorough inspection and gave us a quote with what he thought needed to be done to warm up the house. We had 3 quotes done, this was right in the middle (and the one below seemed a little sketchy-we would much rather go with a reputable company). We had initially called requesting the basement be insulated after learning it had none when we removed the walls from water damage, so despite not having the best attic insulation or in the garage, he was not pushy AT ALL and said he'd be happy to come back if we ever decided to do the other areas. His availability was good, the guys who came to do the work were professional and nice, and Steve came by at the end of the job to check everything. He was really friendly and a pleasure to work with. I am a younger female and have been taken advantage of by really bad contractors in the past, but it was not the case here at all. I would recommend this company to anyone who needs insulation done. read more
