ARC…read moreprovided a quote ( without visiting our home) that included the following sentence, "Please confirm exterior walls are framed 2x4". I told the rep that other companies have inspected our home and stated that our walls are suitable for blown in insulation. ARC never came to visit our home - while their competitors did this as a standard account management cycle. Fast forward to this week, I was ready to sign the agreement and pay the deposit - the rep asked me to confirm the 2x4 framing. I asked him how he wanted me to do this - he suggested I drill pilot holes in each wall or pay a 3rd party to do this and that ARC was not responsible for verifying the details of our home. Not responsible for validating a critical project detail before having you customer pay thousands of dollars?! Extremely poor customer service and frankly, a lazy sales team. I am sure the crews doing the work are great, but the accounts team could use a refresh. I will work with a competitor unless ARC has employees willing to visit their prospective customers!

He heard my concerns about time and parking and sent a double crew to get everything done in one day. Crew was professional, attentive, and quick. Overall they did a thorough job masking everything - only issue was a door was left open for a while so our kitchen got pretty dusty. Recommend anyone be extra attentive to what should be masked off and closed etc, but I would use Eco Tec again and would recommend to others.

He was able to help me convert my garage to a gym by insulating the roof for me - which has made it possible for me to work out in the winter there. He also had his team insulate my entire house as well as do some ventilation work. The work was great, fairly priced, and they were responsive. 5/5, would recommend to anyone.

Our inspector…read moretold us the insulation looked like it hadn't been refreshed in 40 years and was severely deficient by modern standards. Jim was one of a few companies that I received estimates from for insulation, but he was far and away the most thorough and descriptive. As a first time home owner, I didn't know a shingle from a soffit - Jim made the whole process easy to understand. Further, his report on our home after the estimate was like a graduate thesis, but in layman terms. I'm far more educated about my home after working with Jim, and I finally have adequate insulation in my attic and crawl space. He was also reasonably priced (competitive with another estimate and 1/3 of the most expensive estimate that we received). TL:DR - I would recommend Jim and his team to anyone looking to up their insulation game (he also does HVAC and Solar, although we weren't in the market for these).

Eventually made it to scheduling 8 weeks out... fast forward to today OCT 1st... I never received a confirmation that they were coming or a time frame they would arrive. They show up unannounced while I'm at work and are repeatedly calling/emailing me. The office manager, Leslie, left me a nasty email. When told that I was not home because they never confirmed, she replied with "We do not work that way. Never have, never will." She was extremely rude and unprofessional. They were not happy that they traveled a distance and I was not home due to the lack of communication. How is this a proper way to conduct business? It is 2026. A confirmation that you were coming and a time frame is pretty standard for business nowadays. If you're mad about me not being home and you traveling a distance then maybe you should have confirmed the appointment. They also didn't even offer to reschedule. When I told them I could have someone there in an hour I was told we had to cancel the job all together. My business clearly means nothing to them. Needless to say I do not recommend using them for anything.

I did months of research, called dozens of companies and finally, by accident, I called an insulation company in the western suburbs that didn't provide spray foam insulation. The calltaker however, was kind enough to refer me to Lighthouse for the best service. Yeah, right. Within the first few minutes of talking with Patrick I knew Lighthouse was going to be the best "mistake" I'd made through this whole remodel process. Patrick will not steer you wrong and will give you honest and forthright answers to all your questions. He is thoroughly knowledgeable and completely honest about every detail in the industry. The work was completed in a timely and professional manner, and the price was absolutely the best value in the market. If you're looking for an honorable and competent professional, look no further than Lighthouse Insulation Services. Thanks a million, Patrick! Bless you and your family.

Jim's initial assessment of what we needed felt very honest and he spent a lot of time answering our questions and helping to educate us on why he recommended certain things and not other things based on our home and what he saw in our attic. The price we were quoted felt fair based on the work that was needed, and the rebate that Jim was able to offer was also a gamechanger. We'd happily work with Jim and his team again for our energy related needs. For context the work that we had done was having additional blown-in insulation added to get up to code, sealing gaps & air leaks, and adding weather stripping around our hatch to create a better seal.

While other assessors came across with a salesman approach, Jim was super practical and realistic from the start about my options. Like I was initially set on getting cellulose for my attic, but Jim pointed out some limitations given the age and construction of my home (condo built in the 1970s). He mentioned examples of older places with cellulose developing issues like sagging ceilings. No other assessor mentioned this, so deciding to work with Jim was an easy choice. He was honest and only recommended what worked best for my situation. As of writing this review, it's been over 2 weeks since his crew came and completed both air sealing and insulation. Before, my second floor would always had a 4 to 5 degree temperature difference from my main floor. Since their work, there is no significant difference. I even checked the temperature consistently for a few days just to make sure. Whatever they did, it's made a huge difference! Overall, I'm very happy with Jim, his team, and the quality of work they provided.
