And, he's the only true local in this small group. His menu is what I call a "yes please" menu. There isn't anything on it I don't want. The Crab & Tuna Tian is a favorite appetizer of mine. And then I have to decide between Cod, Tile or Black Sea Bass. It isn't easy. Dessert, on the other hand, is easy. The Apple Pecan Caramel Cake. My wife likes the Molten Cake. Winter evenings are especially great with the fireplace burning local locust logs. Creative fresh food, a great wine list of wines you may not know and a romantic setting with great service.

Oops lol It was a quiet Friday evening and Plaza Café is conveniently located near my friend's house there in South Hampton. Being off season, there has been very little traffic and people on the streets. There were only 3 other parties in the restaurant when we walked in. This place is cute, private, has great good food, and service. Their menu is very small, but I was still having trouble deciding what I wanted to eat for dinner. Finally decided on the Tile fish....Yeah I know, I was like. Was told that they're like human beings because they eat just about anything in the sea. No idea if that's true or not, but I'll take it. The dish was light and full of flavor. Tried some of my friend's Salmon/Udon dish and I actually think his was the better choice. The salmon went very well with the udon. Noodles were kind of firm and juices full of flavor. Plenty of parking in their private lot. Looks like they may share it with businesses/hotel in the area. I'd eat here again. The décor and feel was okay, nothing amazing or memorable.

The restaurant is huge and always busy. They have two levels, and while I prefer sitting upstairs, both spaces are great. This time, I tried their New England Clam Chowder for the first time, and it was phenomenal. There wasn't a grain of sand to be found, and it was absolutely loaded with meaty, perfectly cooked, tender clams. The flavor was unforgettable. It managed to be creamy without feeling heavy. You know when a chowder leaves a thick coating of cream in your mouth that lingers long after each bite? This wasn't like that at all, and it was perfect. I also enjoyed the Caesar salad. I've seen it presented this way before, and while it does put a little more work on the diner, it's really not a big deal to use a fork and knife. The lettuce was crisp and cold, the dressing tasted homemade, and the crouton crumble was a game changer. I decided to add the seared blackened scallops, and they were cooked perfectly. The upcharge was a little more than I would have liked for the amount, but it was worth it. After all, who doesn't love a scallop straight from Montauk? That scallop traveled less to get to my plate than I did to get to Hampton Bays. The drinks were festive, the wine was cold, and the atmosphere was lively. It's the perfect place to bring friends and family and have a great time.

I don't know if they're discriminated or something, but that was something, but besides that the bathrooms were very squeaky clean.

We stopped, were greeted cheerfully, and quickly found parking before heading to the window to order. My daughter had been there before, but this was my first visit, and we were both treated very well by the staff, including the Vice President of the Shinnecock Nation, who teased me for comparing their lobster rolls with ones I had tried previously at the original Lobster Roll in Montauk, Lunch in Southampton, and Cousins' Maine Lobster trucks back in Pennsylvania. He said theirs use fresh, not frozen lobster meat and are better. We both got the four ounce "Guppy" served Hamptons style - warm lobster topped with warm butter and chives over a bed of arugula served on a toasted brioche roll that came with a generous portion of classic shoestring fries and a pickle. Our sandwiches and fries were terrific, and I even got to try a Montauk iced tea, a local favorite that has half the sugar of Gold Peak sweet tea and came highly recommended by one of the private chefs in the Hamptons that I follow on social media. I don't get it, New England is kicking our tails (See what I did there?) Lobster: It wasn't coated in butter but a mayo-y mess I ordered the biggest, baddest Lobster Roll they offer. It was meaty but with filler meat like parts of the claw. After I ate the big chucks of cold lobster coated with mayo and was left with cheaper part of the lobster, IMHO the roll wasn't worth the expensive upcharge. My wife ordered a Fried Fish platter. It came with three large pieces of fresh fish. The fish was lightly coated in batter and fried gold brown. The french fries were good as well as the fish, no complaints. The potato chips, I'm assuming they were homemade but after a few minutes became cold and oily, it didn't want me craving more. The Shinnecock Lobster Factory got the lobster bisque down, if they can work on the lobster roll this place would be 5 stars hands down.

We were seated right away inside, which I requested, not knowing what August Summer heat might be. Our server was so sweet, patient, made great recommendations, all of which did not disappoint. We shared the Italian BLT salad and the tomato on Toast to start. The tomato on toast when it came out was a little under whelming, but it was beyond amazing. The tomato's tasted like they had no acid, and were picked straight off the vine out back. I had the ribeye which was perfectly medium rare, so tender, flavorful and a really generous portion. The potatoes were pure velvet, the smoothest and most delicious potato I've ever had. My husband had the past with shrimp and I think lobster? He loved it, was licking the plate clean. They also sent us out a dish of linguini with clams and again, my husband was licking the plate. The pace of all the food coming out was perfect, our server checked on us and the best part of the entire evening, was seeing Rocco! He went around to all the tables, ran food, talked to everyone.
