OMG!!! My partner was having surgery across the street and it was cold and I Didn't want to walk far so I came here. This is the best pizza I've ever had. I had a buratta, arugula, and cherry tomatoes Sicilian slice.. it was so damn good! I think what made it better was the fact that it was fresh out the oven.. the service was also very good. We were in the area to see a play nearby. Read about the pizza here on yelp. Decided to meet a friend for pre-matinee snackage, since it looked so good and pricing seemed reasonable. Worked out even better than I expected. The crust is light, fluffy, and crunchy! Loads of yummy toppings, too. I had the capricciosa. My friends got 3 slices of margherita. We would all return for more pizza, if in the area. The paninis and salads, and desserts cooler looked great! Pistachio gelato, mmmm. Next time! The guy behind the counter was a sweetie. This place is the real deal for anyone who loves authentic italian pizza. The hazelnut gelato is amazing as well. Probably my favorite thing here are the puree'd veggie soups served with italian bread. For panini I love the caprese (fresh mozzarella, tomato and pesto on focaccia). I also love the ciabatta 'Baretto' which is a panini with truffle paste, Taleggio cheese, arugula, tomato & prosciutto di Parma. Yum! read more

Ohmygod- what a sleeper hit! I had never come to Il Barettp before but was fortunate enough to get their food during a catering event. We ordered several of the pizzas and foccacia sandwiches. The pizza was pretty good- lots of toppings with a soft, thick dough. It reminds me of grandma style pizza, which I've always been a fan of. The foccacia sandwich- however- blew me away. We ordered the parma and the caprese. The parma had SUPER tender and fresh proscuitto, the stretchy mozzarella I've missed from NJ delis, freshly sliced tomatoes. However, the star was that foccacia. It was buttery, crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, with the fragrance of olive oil permeating through the shell. Ordered a pizza, a Caesar, a sandwich, and a dessert. Four stars for the pizza, which was great. The other items were ok: the dessert (a tiramisu) was freezer-burned; the salad was boring. The sandwich was fine -- pretty small. But we really enjoyed the pizza, and will probably try this place again in the future (but stick to the pizza). read more

Stopped by here after the Daily Show and loved it! Tastes authentic and the owner is great. He is amiable and a pleasure to talk to. Once slice is about $5.5 and is filling. There are 4 high seats inside facing the store front so you can people watch and a few outdoor tables. read more

A hidden gem! Literally ran into this place while looking for shelter from the cold and wind after walking away from the Hudson River. There's not much for food and drink in this area, so my friend I were happy to find anything at this point. Well, gosh darn it good thing the cold forced us to seek shelter. This is a seriously charming and yummy place to visit. At first glance you see pizzas waiting to be chosen by the next patron. Then you realize there's a chalkboard menu with a list of fresh pasta items...and the combinations offered made me salivate. We shared the following: 1. Paccheri with Lobster and Shrimp - delish!!! Lots of good sized bits of lobster and fresh shrimp. The pasta had the most perfect chew. 2. Pappardelle alla Bolognese - Well executed classic. 3. Burrata pizza - Could-like dough. So good. Their Margherita Pie was everything I hoped for! I enjoy the simplicity about a good margherita pizza, and this was it. The crust was the perfect thickness with a good flavor. The tomato sauce was perfect with lots of flavor, and in general the pie was seasoned to perfection! I really enjoyed this pie and glad that I chose it, with the help from the previous yelp reviews! I've never been so hungry after ordering $20 worth of food from a restaurant. I ordered the eggplant parm, which was a new item on their menu. What I got was a few slices of eggplant, a tiny bit of cheese that was barely visible, and a bunch of sauce. I've never received a smaller portion of eggplant parm than I did today. If it was actually good, then perhaps the extremely small portion could be forgiven, but it just wasn't that good. Also, it doesn't come with any pasta. It's unfortunate because other items at this restaurant are good, this just isn't. And I get eggplant parm all the time all over this city. This comes in at the bottom for value and taste. read more

This place is bit out of the way, being on the far west side of town but if you're in the area, do stop by and try the pizza. The slices are surprisingly delicious and not like your typical square slice. The crust was like some fluffy clouds with a nice crusty, crunchy bottom and the toppings fresh and tasty. The 2 slices I got was the Salsiccia and Burrata. The burrata slice had this mild, super fluffy melty cheese topped with arugula and cherry tomato and with every bite the silky cheese just wanted to slide off but it was so good that you just wanted to not lose any piece and catch every bite of it. Delicious! I've ordered from here a few times and my orders are always correct and quickly delivered. Salads are fresh. Dressing are delicious. The rosemary bread is INCREDIBLE. I could eat pounds of it! I love it. im addicted to it haha. I wish I could order more of it. I'll definitely be ordering from here again. The pesto is yummy! I paid $43.00 for 7 slices of pizza. What kills me is that I could off gone somewhere els for a pie that coast less then what I paid. I ask the owner why 43 for 7 slices of pizza he did not know what his employee charge me till I told him this will be the last time I go to that pizza shop. And to top it off the pizza was not cook all the way it was still cold. But I put it in my air fryer to get it nice and hot. But to be honest I will never go there because of the price gouging and they act like it's normal to charge so much for a slice. I DO NOT RECOMEND because you will be wasting your money. P.S. I gave 1 star but I don't give any stars because they don't deserve it. read more

We are in the middle of a coronavirus assault and I give Il Baretto's my goddamn business for them to send me a portion size fit for half a Weight Watcher's diet meal. I just ate all the pappardelle, all the bread, and I'm STARVING. How could you starve me like this? I'm in my bubble at home because if I get sick, I will die. Now, I have no food because Il Baretto's wants me to wither like a flower in October. Most Italian restaurants will give you a circular tin filled with pasta but this one gives you a small plastic rectangle of hatred and hunger. Don't eat here, don't order here. They'll starve you to the grave. read more

Ordered from here on seamless. At first I thought they forgot our pizza and just brought us a salad because just a salad and bread were delivered. so I submitted a refund claim on seamless. Immediately after doing so, the pizza showed up in a separate delivery still nice and hot! Food was great, and I'm now trying to get seamless to reverse the credit they gave me so I'm not accidentally stealing from this restaurant read more

We have been going to this place for years and recently the overall experience has not been that nice. Orders placed on their websites or through third party platforms are skipped, we have to call every time we order and they are always 10-20min and this is when they viewed your order. It happened twice that we walked in for a pick up and the order had not been even started. No apologies were offered or commercial gesture. Bedsides from a taste perspective ingredients are forgotten such as Parmesan on a whole pizza pie. When you find out about it and you have been waiting for your pizza for so long, you have no time to go back especially when prior complains were not considered. I would suggest to avoid this place until improvements have been made to reach their usual standards. read more

Ordered delivery last night fir the first time from this restaurant. As I am gluten free, it can be hard to find a great Italian restaurant making gluten free pasta. We ordered the lobster Mac and WOW it was delicious! I was so impressed! My gluten eating husband said he never would have guessed that it was gluten free pasta. Large chunks of lobster and huge serving size. My son loved the focaccia (he's having it for breakfast too as there was SO much food!) he also enjoyed the steak w/mushrooms, spinach and mashed potato. Unacceptable for margarita pizza, it was just a cheese pizza, mostly thick dough, sauce tasted like tomato sauce and no basil, when I tried to call to see if they got the order right they never answered the phone. I would not recommend or order from here again. read more

When we walked in the location was super clean and we were greeted warmly. We ordered and our food came out hot and quick. We got the pesto and the vodka. I was worried it wouldn't be enough food for the three of us to split- but we were just fine!! It was HEAVEN!! Warm and filling - two was the perfect amount for us to split. My tummy was so warm and happy - definitely recommend!!

The flavors aren't so bad overall and if you have a pasta itch it'll scratch. But I've tried other places better at a similar or even cheaper price point with protein added in. I got the "some like it hot" while my friend got "midnight desire" with burrata added in. I paid about 22 for each dish. Now for my thoughts - flavor for "some like it hot" was not bad, sauce was a slight bit watery for my liking. The spice was nice and I liked that part the most. Pasta was "OK". The ravioli was stuck together for some, filling was adequate but, I would've liked a little more. I don't want to sound harsh, but it was all around just an ok spot. Maybe it was just that day. Burrata added is nice, I took mine to go do sadly it was melted on top (recommend to pack the burrata separately for to go orders) - "midnight desire" is basically vodka and the flavor for this one was kind of odd for me. Not the normal vodka I am used to. I personally wouldn't really get it again. It wasn't a bad sauce, just not like vodka I know. Had a slight "bitter(?)" aftertaste from some seasoning I guess. I'm not a pasta connoisseur but I AM Italian and I've tasted a wide ranger of pastas lol-- I think yummy cheese pasta in Hell's Kitchen offers a similar concept, portion but is more filling, diverse options for adding and overall, slightly cheaper. Perhaps I'll give this place another try on another day..

I watched 3 separate groups of people leave while waiting for her, and she barely offered any updates on the wait time. After 15 minutes she asked us again how many people were in our group as if she had forgotten we were already waiting at the entrance. Once we were seated and looking at the menu, they brought us a single piece of cold bread. All the reviews about the undercooked pasta were true, I ordered the La Devozione (the tomato sauce spaghetti) and the pasta was almost crunchy because of how undercooked it was. The sauce was also incredibly greasy/oily, like the equivalent of an entire Costco pizza amount of neon orange oil. For $33, I am appalled at the quality of this dish. When our waiter brought the check, he hovered over our shoulders and watched as we entered the amount we tipped. He wasn't happy with what he saw and just rudely tossed the card back onto the table at us. For a place that advertises itself as high quality Italian, it's actually just sickening.
