While walking in the area, noticed this unusual pizza spot which was very busy on a Saturday afternoon so after debating about where to eat decided on giving them a try. First thing I noticed is the style of the pizza, which is an enlongated square or a flatbread style. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space is not that big but has several tables, and a bathroom which is always a plus when eating at a pizza establishment, many do not have restrooms.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] After some thought I decided on the calabrese pizza and my mom had the pepperoni. I wanted to try something different than my normal margherita/original style pizza. The sauce, cheese and crust on this pizza is delicious. Love the thinness of the square and how it flaked when taking a bit. The staff is friendly and they greet you in Italian, that was a nice surprise. Gave this pizza spot a try as the toppings served here sounded unique. For slices, it appears that you get two square pieces, which makes sense for the price they are charging. I got the Carbonara Slice ($7), which consisted of aged mozzarella, egg yolk, guanciale, pecorino cheese, and black pepper. No tomato sauce so it was very different from what I was used to, but enjoyed it. The guy that was at the counter that served me was not very friendly and was very off-putting. He tried rushing me for an order. When I told him I wasn't ready, he proceeded to just look at this phone. I went to this unique pizza place with an almost factory-like aesthetic a while ago. Compared to some others, this isn't typical NYC pizza, being more Roman-style pizza al taglio, as it's cut more in a rectangle instead of a square. You can also find similar at My Pie Pizza Roma in Midtown East/my neighborhood, and like there, the crust is slightly thicker than a typical NYC slice and has a nice crunch to it. Along with pizza, they also sell custom pasta, sandwiches, and salads, with a notable number of vegan slices. The prices might seem a bit higher than the typical place, but they give a much larger portion. I was a bit unaware of this, so I got two, and this happened to be a very filling meal. The first was the Plain Cheese for $4.50, with aged mozzarella cheese and fresh tomato sauce. Due to the cheese selection, this was a bit less salty than other places, which I liked. For the sauce, it was bright and tasty, though I have preferred some other spots. It was good. My preference of the two was the more expensive slice, the $7 Emiliana, with aged mozzarella cheese, imported mortadella, pistachio cream, burrata cheese, and basil. This felt like more of a rich and indulgent slice due to the burrata and mortadella. Also, the unique nuttiness from the pistachio cream worked surprisingly well. While I usually don't like white slices, the various toppings more than made up for the lack of sauce, and this was easily one of my favorite white slices I have had. This is a tasty and unique slice shop. Would go back and try more. read more

Actually really liked the build your own pasta. The meatballs and cacio e Pepe was great and the vegetables were fresh. It is actually made to order so it took a bit of time. But it also stayed piping hot during my walk home of about 15 minutes which was impressive. read more

The place is fast casual but the taste/quality is proper casual/hip Italian- your eyes will be delighted by the selection of pizzas. Note, these aren't the round style slides, but square kind, so its a rectangular pizza. We got slices of the Calabrese ($6), Chicken BBQ ($5.50) and the Emiliana ($7, along with two beers ($7 each). They heated them up for us, so the crust was nice and crispy and with gooey cheese- delicious! The Emiliana featured mortadella, pistachio cream and burrata, and was fantastic. My husband was super happy with his two slices as well. I saw that they have many vegan options and pastas as well! The crust was thick but bubbled with strands of well-formed gluten. Crisp, chewy, well-fermented crust. Zesty and tomatoey sauce with oregano. Great quality mozzarella and flecks of fresh basil. This is a little airier and reminds me more of focaccia. They have a Margherita pizza, however this is nowhere near what you expect. This one has a thick layer of cheese covering the top. I personally really enjoyed the taste of this, I just think it was more appropriately named cheese pizza as there was also just a very little amount of basil. The fungi pizza was also really good. If you love mushrooms, this has a ton of great umami flavor baked into the slice. Prices of pizzas are fairly standard for a lot of the upper-end slice joints (around $5-6 each). Staff are pretty friendly and bring the pizza to your table after you order it. Overall a pretty good experience with pretty good pizza. read more

Pizza Collective was just average for me. The ingredients seemed fresh, but I think the ratio of sauce and dough to toppings was too high -- it hid the flavor of the toppings. Not my favorite pizza I've had in New York, but I did like the crust. I ordered three slices ($16) and they were absolutely massive. Two is more than enough for a filling meal. I tried the Parmigiana, the Chicken BBQ, and the Sofisticata. The Parmigiana was my favorite and the closest to "normal" pizza, but I thought the sauce was too sweet for my liking. The barbecue sauce on the chicken pizza wasn't my favorite either, but the amount of chicken was ample. The sofisticata was definitely the most unusual with toasted walnuts and Gorgonzola cheese, and I'm glad I tried it, but I wouldn't order it again. I also got a tiramisu which was pretty tasty and served in an actual glass container which I was surprised about. My delivery came earlier than expected and was still hot despite it being a freezing cold day outside, so the overall delivery experience was a positive one. I've had my eye on this place all throughout the pandemic and was so glad to be able to go with the app perks. Unfortunately, I gotta say the employee was sour faced and brusque. Pizza was good! I've been wanting Roman style pizza since I come home from Italy in 2019 and was so glad to have the opportunity to try it again. I went here in the afternoon and this place has a steady flow of people coming and going with a solid out door seating set up. After looking at all the slices I decided on the marg and funghi slices to split with my veggie lady. The slices had a soft crispy bottom and the bread had a fluffy airiness to it. Both slices were delicious with a flavor that popped. These slices were unlike anything I have ever had before and highly suggest it. Pizza was good but service could have been better...and it was for take out. I ordered ahead for pick up. I arrive and the guy at the register grabs my order places it off to the side to ring me up but stops to help someone else suddenly. No "excuse me for a moment" or anything so I'm just left waiting. When he does come back to ring it up, I pay and he walks without passing my order. I have to reach over to get it. Not asking for white glove service to get pizza but a little civility would be nice. Like they're doing me the favor of having me spend my money on them. I'll think twice before ordering from them again on that reason alone. read more
