Really good brick oven margarita pizza. I sat at the bar and the service was good was there as well
To my favorite pizza place in New York.. thank you Hector for the wonderful experience! We immediately walked in and got seated. Our server hector was the best. I asked if he had a certain drink and he went out of his way to check and find something similar and created a drink just for me! We ordered the diavola pizza and I have to say that's the best pizza we've tried in NYC so far. That is, if you like just a touch a spice. We added extra red chilis to make it even spicer and it was the best! I will absolutely come back and come here and I recommend you try this pizza!!!
Found this absolute gem of a restaurant for neopolitan pizza and am OBSESSED with their ten year anniversary margherita. Beautifully pillowy crust with a fiery char, and there's a perfect balance of sweetness and acidity from the tomato and savoriness from the pesto. We were curious about the white pizzas so we tried the norma and that one was nice as well with a lot of textures from the eggplant and tomato. Personally prefer the margarita as it seems to be a more well-rounded pizza and the tomato just can't be missed. It was pretty packed inside when we got there and took the bar seating, so would probably recommend a reservation for larger parties (2+) on evenings. Definitely one of my top neopolitan pizza spots in NYC!
I've been talking about having pizza in NY since I arrived and I went inside this place. They have Michelin placards for various years include 2025. It's a small and quaint place with an open kitchen in the back. There is a bar as you walk in and I sat at the bar. The bartender is great and I asked him what the most ordered items were. He directed me to the special pizza page. I saw they have fried pizza but I didn't try it. I got a mixed salad with The Butcher pizza .it was delicious. The dough is chewy but not crispy. I would have preferred it more crispy. It's hard to fold the pizza but it was also hard to cut it because of the chew . In the end I ended folding the pizza.
We stopped by Don Antonio for lunch. When we arrived, it was quite busy inside and we were told it would be a 30 minute wait but we ended up getting seated faster than that! We tried the 10 years anniversary pizza which came with red sauce, stracciatella, pecorino romano and topped with fresh basil pesto. We also got the Macellaio (the butcher) which came with four different proteins split into quadrants including sausage, ham, salame and prosciutto. The pizzas came out piping hot and quickly, and the flavors were good. It was Neapolitan style, though the crust was a bit too thin for my personal preference. Of note, their pizzas are personal sized (12") - we were looking for a light lunch so sharing a few among a group of 4 worked well. Service was super prompt. Overall, a nice experience for Neapolitan pizza at a busy location!
Visiting New York for the Fourth of July weekend. Staying on Times Square this place is recommended for good to sit down pizza.. we were greeted and seated right away. Bernadotte what time did the pistachio pesto. It was simply amazing. It came out so fast. I actually thought it was meant for another table. looks perfectly thin sliced Neapolitan with fresh flavor.
The Good: One of the best pizzas I've had in a long time! The dough is just light and chewy in a perfect way. And, the sauce is amazing! Fast and friendly service too. The Bad: I'm not going to find a pizza place like this back in LA. The Ugly: We just had to order a second pizza because it was so delicious. The 10 year anniversary pizza with pesto is a flavor bomb and out of this world!
I honestly did not expect the pizza to be as good as it was here, like I saw the signs for one of the 25 best pizzas in the world and thought I wouldn't be able to tell. But you definitely could! Just thinking about it, my mouth is watering. My friend is gluten free and swears this is the best gluten free pizza she has had and I can see that with how good the pizza in general was. I'm a sucker for a truffle/burrata/prosciutto anything and was so excited to see all that together in one pizza. The char on the crust was delicious along with all the toppings. I finished the whole pie and had room for tiramisu surprisingly. Staff was very attentive and the hostess were very mindful of when people came and started waiting to have a list. Bar is open seating though. I cannot wait to come back.
Phenomenal meal! I can't believe that a top tier pizza restaurant like this has an entirely separate kitchen dedicated to making gluten free items. It's an incredible gift for someone with celiac like me daughter! We ordered a salad and focaccia for the grownups to start (very yummy!) and two pizzas (margherita and 10 year anniversary) for the table. Some of the best pizza I've ever had, full stop gluten or no gluten! The service was friendly, helpful and efficient. The whole place was super busy on a Wednesday night but we were able to get a table in under 20 min). We didn't try the dessert bc both options were Nutella based so maybe having a scoop of option would be another good option. But that's just being nit picky because everything was truly stellar!

You must try the Pere & Noci salad along with your pizza, it peas, exquisite‼ Giorgia Caporuscio, an acclaimed and world champion pizzaiola who has earned international recognition for her authentic Neapolitan pizza, is behind the beloved Don Antonio restaurant. Located at 309 West 50th Street in New York City's Hell's Kitchen neighborhood, the casual eatery has an extensive list of pizzas. Don Antonio has over 30 types of Neapolitan pizzas, and the menu is a little bit daunting at first due to so many options, but even the pickiest eater will find something they'll want to eat. Had a great time at Don Antonio having dinner with my fianceé's friend from her master's program along with her boyfriend. The 4 of us decided to grab a relatively early dinner at 6pm on a Friday evening. You'd be surprised, but the place was nearly full. I think it's due to the proximity of Times Square that there might be a lot of tourists, but I don't know. This is where the flexibility of not having to book a reservation helped. We somehow got a table right after we got here. Tables are packed quite compactly here, but there were quite a lot of people here. Service was quite quick - quicker than our usual fast selves. But we didn't have a difficult time making decisions. We got a Squash & Kale Salad to start. Between the 4 of us, we split 3 pizzas. We ordered a prosciutto pizza as a non-vegetarian option for our friend. We also got a simple margherita pizza while I ordered the Norma Nostra. The Margherita was great, but the Norma Nostra stole the show for me. Note that these are individual sized to an extent. I wish the sliced the pies a bit better, but that's okay. The pizza tasted awesome. Also, there's a spicy olive oil provided at the table. That added all the bounce I needed for the pie. For dessert, we ordered both the options: Tiramisu & the Angioletti with Nutella. Tiramisu was good as expected. Angioletti was a lot, though maybe a bit too much for all of us. It was okay. Still think this place gets a 5 star review from me. Will highly recommend for anyone wanting a relatively quick sit down dinner.
Probably one of my top pizza places I'd recommend! Their fried pizza is something different that most places don't do and it was crispy and there's no "crust" which was different than most pizzas! Their servers are super attentive and quick to assist when you need it most! They have some great recommendations when we didn't know what to order to try besides their most popular pizzas! We stumbled upon this place after checking out celiac reviews online, and it turned out to be just a convenient six-minute walk from our hotel. It is such a cute place that deeply honors its heritage and ancestry, and their understanding of celiac disease immediately put us at ease. They explicitly let us know they use a dedicated oven and explained what pizzas can be made gluten free. They also have a dedicated fryer for all their gluten-free items, which is a massive relief for anyone with strict dietary needs. To drink, I ordered an Aperol Spritz, though you will want to double-check with the staff since a few of their other cocktails are not gluten-free. We kicked off our meal with the gluten-free arancini and a gluten-free Margherita pizza, and the pizza was genuinely delicious. They even offer gluten-free desserts, so we naturally went all-in on the fried dough with Nutella to finish things off. Aside from the incredible food safety and quality, the service and staff were fantastic. They were constantly attentive, clearing empty plates and bringing new ones throughout the meal. Perfect napoletana wood fired pizza. They do just the right amount of cheese to sauce the dough is perfect and the spicy olive oil is a must. Will definitely come back next time we are in the city. Service was fast and friendly. Ambiance- Interior is large and welcoming Good to hit up after your broadway show but beware they usually close at 10pm read more

Wow completely blown away with how good this restaurant was. I have a friend with celiac so we are always looking for a good gluten free spot and this place nailed everything. I would 100% recommend even if you do not have a gluten allergy. We shared Giorgia's Fritto Misto and they were amazing, the frittatine was our favorite would recommend ordering that. The pizzas we had were unbelievable the gluten free crust is top notch and the regular pizza crust is amazing as well. The prosciutto margarita pizza was one of my favs along with the star of the show was the MONTANARA GENOVESE. If you get anything order that. The service is great, the atmosphere is very casual. read more

One of my favorite pizza spots in the city. They've got tons of fun flavor combinations. In all of the pizzas, the dough is crunchy, chewy, and perfectly leavened. Service is ridiculously fast--we've been in and out of the place in 30 minutes. I'd recommend sticking to the classic types of pizza, not the fried dough options, such as the Pizza Pianeta & the Montara Classica. The latter was too smoky for our liking. The atmosphere is bustling, but fun. Definitely stop by sometime. read more

The pizzas came out really quickly. Some parts were slightly burnt but I assumed that's what happens when you use a traditional oven. The food was good, just not worth the price. The chairs we were seated in were quite small and the restaurant felt a bit crammed. The service was attentive and the waiter checked on us regularly. With tip, the bill for two pizzas and two beers (from cans, not draft) rang us up about $100 and for that money I think you can find other options. I did like the post card that came with the bill. read more

We dine here every time we come in to see a show. Arrived at 11:30 for an early lunch before our Matinée. Shared an appetizer of Frittatine Napoletane which are spaghetti fritters & the Margherita pizza. Both were delicious but the fritters were outstanding unlike anything we ever had & the service was excellent. And we will be bringing our relatives from Italy when they visit this summer! read more

The Montanara Classico was an amazing pizza. I was skeptical of a fried pizza but this was so good. Would definitely recommend. The Smokey mozzarella was so yummy. I usually prefer a very thin crust but this one was not ans I still loved it. The tiramisu was not that good. I didn't really like the lemon flavor of the sponge at all. Service was good. It's a bit loud but overall ambiance was ok. read more

Let me start with I am Italian and I also turned gluten free recently: this pizza at Don Antonio was one of the best I ever had. The quality of the dough is great and they also have a spicy olive oil which you can add that really makes a difference. The place is not too big and the service was excellent. I recommend! read more
Went here for a girls night dinner. The drinks were very strong! We each had 2 and were varying degrees of tipsy. The place is small and they don't take reservations so be patient or have a back up plan. We ordered the burratta. I've had better burrata but this one came with a really delicious fried zucchini topping definitely worth getting. Then we ordered three pizzas the montanera which is a fried specialty and unfortunately our least favorite. I didn't like the taste because it tasted a little bit chemically my two companions love to The Taste but did not like the thickness of the dough. Then we ordered the 10-year anniversary Pizza that one was better. But our favorite was the regular margarita with mushrooms and prosciutto. read more

Michelin recognized pizza spot whose owner is recognized as one of the best pizza makers in the world. Came here for dinner in a group of three around 8:30pm and we were able to get seated with a minimal wait. They don't accept reservations; it's walk-in only. Credit cards accepted. Indoor dining only. Food-wise, we split the following: Calzone Classico - this came with salami inside and was very filling. If you're hungry, I'd recommend ordering one of these for yourself. Margherita Ghialla Pizza - the sauce is unique since they use yellow tomatos, though the taste is like a normal Neopolitan style pizza. The crust is thin with a nice char, and the sauce is more subtly sweet than a normal marinara sauce. Montanara Al Tartufo - a montanara is lightly fried pizza dough with toppings. This particular one was crispy without being too oily. The cream sauce with truffle was rich and was flecked with small bits of cheese. read more

What made this spot stand out wasn't just the great flavor it also offers gluten free options, which was perfect since my wife can't have gluten. The service was excellent, and while the space was small, it had a lot of character. The pizza was so good we completely forgot to take photos! The Pizza here has some serious street cred. Eighteen hundred reviews and counting, this four-star yelped rated pizza joint packs some serious flavor. We went with the Pizza Del Re. This pizza consists of mushrooms, prosciutto, and a truffle cream sauce. You will also have at your table some chili oil which really adds some spice to your pie if you choose to dip your slice in the oil or lather it on top. The pizza has been described as chewy, I agree, however it goes down very easy, almost like a pringle how easy it is to devour a single slice. My girlfriend and I saved leftovers for later in the night however so you can definitely get away with just ordering one pie for two people. My only qualm with the restaurant is they really do not make a margarita well at all. They listed it on my bill at fourteen dollars for a house tequila and up charged two dollars to make it a margarita. I couldn't taste the tequila in it, and it tasted like they only mixed it with lime juice. I highly recommend for pizza and for those that can only eat gluten free, they can make any pie gluten free. Ok. We relied on Daniel to pick it. And he did not disappoint. Nor did the food. Daniel downed an entire GF margherita pie all by his lonesome! In addition to getting us here from Boston in a very safe, efficient manner, Ariel took charge of our order. A couple of pear noci salads to split. Yes, Gloria's was dressing and nuts on the side. And by nuts, I don't mean the rest of our family! Then we shared a regular margherita pie and a mushroom calzone. Both were expertly prepared and came out very fast. I knew beforehand that there would be no little side dish or marinara for dunking. This is the only disappointment. I'm not sure why the pizza bottom is floppy. The crust is thin, tasty and floppy. Washed down with a glass of the best water this side of the Mississippi, NYC Tap Water, and we had a great meal and phenomenal New York experience! read more

Do they sell by the slice?
no. they really want you to sit down at a table and run up a bill by getting pasta and wine, but the pies are small and can be be shared by 2 people.
Are there ever any pie specials featuring Goat Cheese? (More a question for the Chef, I guess.)
Is the pizza safe for celiacs?
Absolutely! I have celiac. Not only did I not have ANY problems, I never felt bloated, full, or any of the wonderful symptoms I have every now and then from gluten free dough. Just make sure ur server knows you are gf.
