Cocktail menu 10/7/26
Jim P.

Iki Toro is an upscale Japanese Sushi Restaurant. The inside has a rich feel with its black and red colors and neon lights. Even the restrooms were decked out in black. The service was excellent and our server gave us some great recommendations. We had both the Crudo Trio A & B off of the special menu, But felt the Crudo Trio B was the best. It had the Bluefin, salmon, and Hokkaido Scallop. Next up was the Iki Toro Imperial Roll with Caviar. This was delicious. If you like Bluefin Toro, this is the roll for you. We also tried the Bafun Uni Nogiri. The Uni did not taste fresh or it was harvested while the ocean was churned up. I love Uni, but this particular time was not the best. I had some hot Sake, and my wife had a Sapporo with our dinner. After the meal, our server brought us some Plumb Wine for desert. It was a nice touch. We will definitely give it another try. Cheers!

Nice vibes. Service was good. However, the food lacked flavor. We only liked the langostino roll. Everything else was just okay, nothing special. The rolls had too much going on and the focus wasn't on the fish. BE CAREFUL when selecting the tip at the end. The selection is on 22%!! Overpriced as our bill came out to $250 and it wasn't anything special.

Came here recently for Mother's Day as I love sushi. When we arrived I was surprised to find it was the same sushi place we had visited a lot quite a few years ago. Not sure if they remodeled or if this is a new group but the inside is very upscale and modern now, a complete change from the old place. The food is also very upscale and top dollar. The menu was interestingly presented meaning I was curious to try different things. I enjoyed discovering what everything was. The specialty rolls were delicious, the skewers, especially the waygu and mushrooms were delicious! Large cocktail and mocktail menu. The only issue with this visit was the rate at which the food came out. It was really slow. We got one dish and had to wait a long while for another, even the waitress asked if we got everything toward the middle. We ordered drinks and one of the drinks didn't come out with the others. After waiting a long while we asked about it and finally got it but it was after we already ate a few dishes (Like to have the drinks out before the food comes out). The long wait wasn't on our waitress but I think the back kitchen but she also seemed to be super busy with a lot of tables. Pleasant waitress though, she did check on us a lot. I believe it was their soft opening so get that they are still figuring things out. While the food was very enjoyable, beautiful and tasty, it just needs to come out faster. Especially sushi, where some of the plates are small and get devoured immediately. Yum food, nice interior, will try again

Absolutely incredible sushi! The fish is unbelievably fresh, and every bite is packed with amazing flavor. Beautifully prepared, delicious, and truly a standout sushi experience in Glendale. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful and the restaurant is beautifully designed with energetic music. I can't wait to come back!

Soft shrimp tempura roll and Golden Langostino roll

Was in the area, hungry, and saw this was a newer spot, so we walked in to give it a try. Felt like a soft opening still. We were able to get seated right away and waters were brought to the table. Ordered the Japanese Candy Shop cocktail with cucumber and passion fruit. The cucumber really comes through, as it usually does with most things, and the passion fruit was hard to find. Still felt like a refreshing cocktail, just missing something. Appetizers, we started with the spicy tuna crispy rice and scallop crudo. The crudo was very good, the scallops tasted fresh with different textures coming together. Just a nice bite. The crispy rice was also delicious, nice crisp on the outside with soft rice inside, topped with tuna and a jalapeno. We also tried a wagyu skewer which felt underwhelming, unfortunately, but was seasoned well. Entrees consisted of two rolls. The spicy shrimp tempura roll felt like something was missing to bring it all together, while the Langostino roll was very good with flavor throughout the entire bite. Overall, newer Japanese restaurant in Glendale at the time putting out some decent dishes. Scallop Crudo and spicy tuna crispy rice are a must, as if the Langostino roll. Skip the wagyu skewers and the shrimp tempura roll though.

This is actually the best sushi in Glendale. The execution of the menu and selection of fish is exceptional. Everything is always incredibly fresh and the quality is consistently excellent. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients. The service is always friendly and attentive, and the overall experience never disappoints. Sooo happy they opened up in this location. I've been back 4 times so far!

10/10 ... for our full experience The ambience (decor, lighting, everything was nice) The drinks The appetizers The rolls The service & There's free 90 minutes parking in the lot next door The girls and I found this place on Yelp and went in for a late meal. Jasmine & Phoenix gave us the best service, and were full of laughs! The restaurant has only been open 3 weeks so we wanted to try everything, and we weren't disappointed. For the 3 of us, each getting a drink, appetizer and roll it was $177 and we left full! The standouts were the Yellowtail Serrano Twist, it was fresh and flavorful. Also, all drinks were 10/10. It's perfect for late night, date night, or ladies night. We'll definitely be back! Tell a friend to tell a friend.

Great food and chill environment. The Langostino roll was delicious. The nigiri set was very fresh (not fishy at all!) Great service, the staff was very nice to explain the popular sets. The music was a bit too loud.

Scallop iki toro roll

By sheer chance, I wandered into this establishment on a Friday afternoon, and I can only describe the experience as a spectacular ambush upon my mouth. I ordered an unnecessarily amount of food. Much to my delight, every single plate justified my lack of discipline. The salmon crudo was graceful, the yellowtail crudo bordered on the divine, and the yellowtail roll vanished from the table with alarming speed. To accompany this culinary expedition, I enjoyed a modest glass of water alongside an alcoholic beverage enigmatically titled "Japanese Candy." Its name raised questions; its flavor answered every one of them. Pictured below is the Scallop Iki Toro Special Roll, a rather aristocratic arrangement of scallop, toro, uni, and caviar. Finally, I must extend a formal commendation to our marvelous waitress, Mia. She possessed that rare talent of being attentive, cheerful without pretense, and genuinely welcoming from beginning to end. May fortune smile generously upon her future endeavors. An establishment of uncommon excellence. I shall most certainly return, likely under the flimsy pretense of "just stopping by," only to once again order with reckless optimism.

We celebrated Mothers Day and a birthday with the girls. Food was amazing!! Hands down one of the best I've had in a while. Order all the different crudo, it's delicious-my favorite is the scallops. Our server was so sweet and friendly and attentive. Inside of the restaurant was so cute and cozy.

I loved this place, pretty new in Glendale. They have special yellow tail menu - it was amazing. All fish is super fresh and potions are big. Service is fast and I lived the interior, comfortable sofas and chairs.

i came here for a dinner date and we loved it, will be returning. great ambiance, clean, great customer service, good quality food, all around 10/10. their specialty roll with the caviar top was my favorite! the servers really put their best foot forward explaining everything to you.

Baked mussels and !!BRUSSEL SPROUTS!!

Amazing customer service and food! We reserved the wrong number of people and they were able to accommodate us (3 adults + a baby) We've been to this place before the new ownership and it's completely revamped and upgraded. The whole restaurant felt super luxe but not stuffy if that makes sense. EVERYTHING WE ORDERED WAS SO GOOD. No misses or notes. Ordered the Omakase platter, crudo trio, cut rolls, meat skewers, brussel sprouts, mussels, and gyoza - everything was GREAT. The fish was soo fresh and the bbq skewers were perfectly charred. We also got to try 4 signature cocktails and they were all great but our absolute favorite was the suntory sour. 10/10 experience and food. We will be back!

Highly recommend! Classic Glendale establishment!…read more The Famous has been under new ownership, a lovely woman, who has great new ideas for the bar. Lots of themed nights and engaging activities to really bring the community together. I love the creative and fun cocktails. Lots of asian themes but also traditional tiki drinks. Unfortunately parking may be a bit tough (you'll need to walk) - either street parking (paid in front), free street parking in the residential, or parking at the mall

(Drank 03/28/26 SA @ 6:00pm): How famous was this bar in Glendale?…read more After a late-afternoon film at the nearby AMC The Americana At Brand 18, my friend and I walked around a bit and eventually found ourselves at The Famous Bar. With the seemingly ever-changing landscape along Brand Blvd. in downtown Glendale, this establishment has been around since 2012 (which I believe was the first and only time I came here). Primarily known for its inventive craft cocktails and a killer whiskey selection, it was a nice place to sneak away into before or after your main event... or, maybe this could be the place to spend an entire evening. Would this bar famously make an impression on me to remember to return in the future!? PURCHASE(S) Fremont Brewing Dark Star Double Oatmeal Imperial Stout Beer 8.00% ABV 16floz Draft ($6.00 HH; Reg. $9.00): Dark brown color, coffee oatmeal roasty aroma, medium body, chocolate coffee oatmeal roasty toasty flavor, mouthfeel smooth finish, and coffee oatmeal roasty toasty aftertaste. This was a really tasty brew and my favorite of the two! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=ad_C9YTJYF9lVr2FOEQLkg 12" Margherita Pizza ($20.00 HH; Reg. $26.00): A simple pizza with a somewhat thin crust that was kind of cardboardy, the flavor was rather pedestrian with chewy mozzarella although the basil was fragrant and fresh. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=kdkvUttCLmMOAGQ1nyp5tg Figueroa Mountain Brewing Co. Danish Red Amber Lager Beer 5.50% ABV 16floz Draft ($5.00 HH; Reg. $8.00): Dark amber red color, malty allspice aroma, low body, malty sweet flavor, clean smooth finish, and malty sweet aftertaste. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=QQjsTWce5Lstcxj5PowrYw Steak Fries ($7.00 HH; Reg. $9.00): This was an impulse buy as something to pair with my second beer. A decent portion-sized snack, each spud stick was hot, steaming, and thick and came with a side of ketchup. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=GVoy0nzxFUL6rHWaxNdG7Q SERVICE We were warmly greeted by a sole young woman behind the bar who handed us a menu and directed us to sit anywhere. After a few minutes of reviewing the menu, we each placed our order at the bar, our drinks were delivered quickly while the food took mere minutes to arrive at the table. We had to approach the bar each time we ordered something, but any empty glasses and plates were collected at the table. Once we closed out our tabs, we were thanked for coming as we headed out into the night. Everything was chill and easy - thank you! PARKING (Varied; FREE this instance): I parked in the nearby original Glendale Galleria parking structure and simply walked over first to The Americana then to this place. Otherwise, there was limited parking along the main drag of Brand Blvd. and other surrounding side streets, the nearby Glendale Galleria II parking structure, The Americana parking structure that offered validation, numerous public transportation options, and rideshares - 'nuff said! ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A dark cavernous speakeasy-like place with open space, various tables and couches strewn about, and a large long somewhat decorative bar with an impressive whiskey selection displayed behind it. I appreciated the exposed brick walls which gave it that old-time feel with a few framed pictures hung on them. Minimal natural lighting came through the front doors and windows while minimal electric ceiling lights filled in rest. There was at least one projection TV where we watched the Dodgers game while music played in the background. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=SomLKsk1KVcemeOCHGOZfg ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL It was nice to slip into The Famous Bar for the first time in over a decade, and if I found myself spending time in downtown Glendale again, I'd consider another visit. Sadly, I try to avoid the highly congested area as much as possible. I loved the fact that they had a daily happy hour (4pm-7pm) and late-night SU-TH happy hours (10:30pm-close), so there was always a deal to be found. The drinks were the main reason you came, while the food was just an add-on. The prices were elevated, but you had a good menu selection of libations (nice local craft beer list) to choose from. The customer service was easy, friendly, and straightforward. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $42.00 BEFORE any discounts/tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... They have different themed nights with DJs & live music, & I believe it was Mediterranean night when we went. I could definitely see this being a fun spot to come with friends, family, or for a celebration. When we went, the restaurant was pretty empty...there was our table & only one other table, which was a group celebrating a birthday. Because of that, I did feel like the music was extremely loud for how empty the restaurant was. I completely understand having loud music when the place is packed & everyone is there to dance & enjoy the nightlife, but since it was mostly just the two of us trying to have dinner, I think turning it down a little would have made the experience more comfortable. We still tried to make the most of it and enjoy the atmosphere. The food & drinks were good, although I would say the prices are definitely on the expensive side. We still had a fine meal. I'd be interested in coming back on a busier weekend to experience the restaurant when the atmosphere is more lively. One thing I did notice was that an 18% gratuity was already included in our bill. I understand automatic gratuity for larger parties, but since it was just me & my niece & we only ordered one meal, I only had one drink, & she had water, it felt a little high...especially considering how empty the restaurant was that night. I understand this may be their standard policy, but it was something I noticed. They also currently have a promotion where you can receive a sweet treat or a drink on the house for leaving a Google review, which was a nice little perk for a first time visit. Overall, I think this could be a really fun place for a group, birthday, date night, or anyone looking for dinner with music, dancing, & a nightlife atmosphere. I'd definitely be curious to come back on a busy weekend!

TBH this place was one of the choices cause it was closest to us while we ran our demands. After parking in the garage, we gathered our dog and popped in fur lunch. Our server Derrick is memorable, exceptional, patient, knowledgeable, quick, intelligent, and friendly. The place is so amazingly designed. My husband was having a difficult day and Derrick truly had the best people skills navigating us through the menu and the tough day. Truly, after the whole 2020 pandemic thing - dining out has just about lost its shine and charm, but the restaurant's layout and the human experience Derrick brought to us was reminiscent of a time before. My husband felt at ease and even ordered a glass of wine which he took the recommendation with immediacy. He is usually resistant to suggestions too. Highly resistant. So that was even more pivotal to the experience. Our dog was even in the happiest of moods. All around this was therapeutic AND I haven't even go to the food yet. Wow. The FOOD. THE EFFING FOOOOOD!!!! Whatever the cook needs give it. The texture and creaminess plus tanginess of the tzatziki- it was delicious and perfect. The lemon potatoes - they reminded me so much of my grandma's growing up. The lunch special was excellent and truly it's a staple in Los Angeles dining because where else? For sure this is one of my favorites from here on out. My dog, my husband, and myself all satisfied. The day changed entirely after coming here- truly. This is a diamond of a place. Thank you.
