I waited to leave a review for Ikea until my second visit, which finally happened over the weekend. The first time I came through it was slammed and all I wanted to do was get outta there! I grabbed two shelves and bounced! I always get nervous to come here on the weekends because I know it'll be packed, just like that. However, I lucked out this time! Parking was a breeze and I was not elbow-to-elbow while browsing for a few things I needed for my new apartment. The staff was super friendly; regularly making sure I was finding everything I was looking for. I definitely did...and then some! I was a little worried because I new I was getting a desk but that worry was cut short when a really nice gentleman offered to help me get it in my cart. The other things I got consisted of a pillowcase, some ice trays and tea lights. The only bummer was that they were out of some shelves that I was looking for. I'll save those for next time! The cashier was so sweet and helped me navigate their credit card machine. I also seem to have trouble with those things. The fella that helped me load the desk in my car was also quick to some to my aid. Overall, I had a good experience at Ikea. I even successfully put my desk together all by myself. I write this as I stand in line for a third visit to resolve issues with the supply side of my kitchen install. First visit (post planner visiting my home): online sales and phone calls with sales rep resulted in no sale. Had to return to the store and a manager was required to finally locate the materials identified by the in home planner. Second visit: planner forgot to add all the require items for the install team to complete the job. It's worth noting that the delivery was also missing items I'd paid for and showed up seven and a half hours late while I was trying to put two toddlers to bed. Third visit: install team is nearing the end realize the store sold the wrong size counter top and the install team has to return to Michigan from Central Ohio today. I'm now in a very long line waiting to resolve this challenge. Over the years I've used Ikea and in general have been happy with the quality when compared to the price. In this case, saving money has come to bite me and I've been extremely disappointed with Ikea's unwritten policy that the customer should do the legwork to resolve their errors. The worst part in all this is the planner's poor measurements. I now get to stare at one inch of my refrigerator that extends past the wall because the cabinets were bigger than reflected on the design. I'm trying to get a kitchen back and at this point there is very little Ikea could do to recover from this fiasco. read more

I love IKEA! And IKEA - Columbus was great! We have tons of IKEA stuff in our house, and I think it's stylish and sturdy while also being reasonably priced. If I'm looking for a specific item for our house I'll always check IKEA along with my other go-to's to see how it compares. We went to this location looking for a specific item we had been unable to find elsewhere. The staff was great and helped us find exactly what we needed quickly and easily. We didn't spend a lot of time at IKEA - Columbus, but I would still recommend it. Our experience was great, and like all IKEA stores I think this one is a gem! read more

Excited to have an Ikea in Columbus. I love Ikea. It is a busy place and it's huge. I don't believe it's possible to get in and out of Ikea in less than an hour because it is like going to a casino-once you get in, you don't know how to get out. It truly is a destination. You will find things you really don't need, but want anyway because it's cool. The prices are very reasonable. If you are hungry, you can get food in their cafe. The associates are helpful and don't be intimidated by the long lines at the cash register, it does move fast. Their process for returns is organized, too. You can load you purchases right outside the front of the building. If you get furniture, be prepared to put it together. Have patience. read more

IKEA stores are unique places to visit , as one could easily spend a whole day negotiating ones way thru the various passage ways and side rooms which are crammed with plentiful stock pieces and decorative nic-knacks . By design , the traffic flow is forced into one direction , with en route exits that are available but Not easily seen . An upper area contains a restaurant that serves interesting foods in addition to certain food items that can be purchased in the freezer section of the building located near the check out lines and exit doors . That particular location also houses a food service counter where sandwiches and other short order items can be purchased and eaten . Chairs and tables are conveniently located for customer use . This same area offers candies, breads , bottled drinks , baked goods and other pre-wrapped food items neatly stacked on shelves or in bins . There are no real help/aid provisions for the handicapped, as it is not possible to offer electric carts and the like owing to the geographic layout of the stores floor plan . I'm told that wheelchairs are available , however they must have been in use as I did not see any . If you have never visited an ikea store , you really must , as it can be quite an adventure and well worth a day trip to either their Columbus or Cincinnati locations . As soon as I into the IKEA, I found that there was no escape. Eventually, I met an employee. A beautiful woman named Boblina. I was in love. I built a base out of various room supplies and made her a room. Eventually we started dating each other. We had our highs, we had our lows. But now, I'm at the lowest of lows. Be very careful if you order an IKEA gift card. I ordered one for my mother for Christmas 2021 and didn't realize you have to use it in the store, ordering items online with a gift card doesn't work. She has placed three online orders, all have been either cancelled or she has been told the items would arrive on a specific day and they never did. Then cancelled by IKEA with no notice. Then she calls customer assistance and they say they will send them, then the order doesn't arrive and she finds out it has been cancelled again. All in all, a complete loss of money unless you take it to the store. read more

I enjoy that you can go room to room and get amazing decorating ideas and price tags on everything so that you know exactly how much it will cost you to replicate the look or part of it. I love that they encourage you to try out the furniture before you buy it. I appreciate that they acknowledge you might get hungry during the shopping process and offer you a café style dining experience that provides healthy, eco friendly food options for all ages in your family. Didn't get enough food at lunch? Well, they offer their food in the frozen section so that you can prepare at home. Shopping with little ones? Drop them off in the kid area, where they will be totally supervised and entertained while you shop for your new kitchen cabnets and fridge to store all that new IKEA stuff you are sure to buy. :) read more

We love IKEA. It's really fun to get inspiration for decorating our house in an inexpensive way. We've bought a few pieces of furniture and are thinking about getting help with our kitchen. I'm disappointed the Ikea app doesn't work because the names of items is really confusing to keep track of. We might have bought more items if we knew the names and locations of the items. Also be aware that larger pieces of furniture may have multiple boxes to pick up. We purchased a dresser and then waited in a 20 minute line only to find out we were missing 2 more boxes. We had to race back and get them. The cafe is known for their Swedish meatballs, but it really isn't that good. If you're going to get food, get dessert. Or ice cream in the little COSTCO-ish fastfood counter in the warehouse. read more

I have now been to IKEA a few times - I have never left without buying something! "I am a fan." My home has small spaces, and sad to say, we have a lot of stuff. The organization/storage options they have here literally make me salivate. I don't have to worry too much about style, color, blah blah blah - everything has that clean, basic aesthetic that I like and is easy to reuse in different areas of the home. We really scored on our last visit - Santa was there! We only had to wait a few minutes for our turn with Santa, which is unheard of at this time of year. Waited 20 min on the phone to speak to customer service. Second time I've had to call and same long wait. We didn't get the hardware with our couch so nothing could be done. Customer service said you can't speak to the Polaris store on the phone so I get to go tomorrow and wait in the service line and then wait on some guy to go thru these gigantic boxes to find hardware. Also the lines at this Ikea are so long. Just not enough registers open. Ikea could be a great store if they fixed their customer relations. We went on a Saturday and surprisingly it wasn't Black Friday shopping busy, which is how I imagine ikea all the time. The store was very bright and clean and the staff was very pleasant! My only complaint is I wish there was another way to get to the department you are actually looking for without having to walk all the way through the numerous people with strollers and kids. We went to look at beds/mattresses and it took us forever to get to that department because there were so many people just standing blocking the walk way with strollers and carts. If you tried to weave through the traffic, you were shortly stopped by another group of people just standing and talking. Hey I'm all for enjoying the experience, but please be courteous and move over so people can walk around you. Never would I ever try to take a cart through there! Not necessarily a reflection of this particular store, but of their delivery service. If there was an option for zero stars, I'd choose that. I ordered $1300 worth of furniture from them, including a $1000 couch to be delivered today. Issue 1: the logistics company they use contracts out their delivery service and showed up late from the delivery window as well as the revised time. Issue 2: they delivered the couch cushion covers BUT NOT THE COUCH! Issue 3: I called customer service multiple times to speak with someone and the automated service hung up on me at the end of the prompts numerous times before I got through to anyone. Issue 4: they informed me that the couch was backordered and while they found a couch that they could ship (after I told them that leaving it at "we can't see when they'll be off backorder and back in the DC" wasn't acceptable and that wasn't what I was asking, I was asking them to find me a couch somewhere and get it to me) Issue 5: they tried to tell me they contacted me and informed me of the backorder on 9/18. They did NOT. I have zero missed calls, voicemails or emails. And when I clicked on the link informing me my order had shipped, it says NOTHING about a backorder (image attached). Issue 6: they are totally cool with the fact that my family now has no couch in our living room and will be sitting on the floor for another week and that I get to take yet another day off of work for them to probably deliver something (hopefully deliver something) outside of the states window. Issue 6: the solution. They told me they'd refund me the $39 delivery fee. Um, what? That is 3% of my purchase. That is laughable. When I told them that they offered a gift card for $75 and said they can't do anything else until the couch has been delivered. My problem isn't with the delivery, or the couch once delivered has an issue, it's with the fact that it WASN'T delivered and won't be for another week (best case). Issue 7: if I want to remedy this situation further (I do, this is not an acceptable remedy for the inconvenience of today), I have to call back in, go through the prompts and start this whole mess from square one. They would not offer a direct line or contact. I'm sorry, but this whole situation is unacceptable. This is terrible customer service. You can do better. I spent my entire Friday waiting on you, and then missed spending my entire Friday night with my husband and children trying to sort out this mess, unsuccessfully. read more

I am very sorry that I used IKEA for a kitchen upgrade. The prices are low, but service is nonexistent. They charged me for and delivered the wrong refrigerator, which they acknowledge. But they refuse to pick it up or refund the $1,200. Now the refrigerator that fits their design is no longer available. Their installer discovered that the diswasher has a broken handle, and he refused to install the microwave because he says IKEA no longer supplies the right bracket. So I've got ~$2,500 of new, unusable appliances sitting in the middle of my kitchen. And no one from IKEA responds to repeated requests to resolve the situation. read more

IKEA is finally open in Columbus! We've been shopping at IKEA for 15 years now, but it's always been a day trip. Great for inexpensive, easy to assemble pieces. Good quality for the price. The style and quality that you would use in apartment or dorm living, not a nice established "adult" home. Houseware items are good, I've gotten dishes, silverware and they've lasted. Cool lighting department. Great solutions for small spaces. Plan to spend several hours in IKEA. It can be a bit overwhelming the first few times. read more
