The worst delivery and assembly services ever. Don't waste your money. Go to Bob's Furniture, Ashley, Pottery Barn, Z Gallerie, anywhere else but here. I ordered online 2 full bedroom sets for my kids. When requesting delivery for the order, I did write in the notes that we live on the 2nd floor, and there are several sets of stairs. Ikea only sent one person for the delivery, and he had to carry all the boxes by himself up 2 flights of stairs. No one warned him in advance that there are stairs, or that he would need a dolly. It took almost 2 hours for him to carry each individual box from the truck, down the long driveway to the garage, then up the stairs. It was insane. With assembly, another person came a few days later, was the laziest, slowest human being ever. He came 3 hours late, said his car broke down. He only finished one girl's bedroom furniture, and it was all assembled in one massive pile in the middle of the room. He threw 4 huge, full cardboard boxes from our move onto the bed frame, didn't bother to open and place the mattress on the bed frame, and we couldn't even get to the bed anyways because of all the assembled furniture piled up in the way. He left all the piles of empty cardboard boxes all over the living room and kitchen. We waited another 2 weeks for him to return and assemble the other kid's room. He did the same thing. Left 3 large wardrobe closet cardboard boxes barricaded on the inside end of the bedroom behind piles of assembled furniture too heavy for us to move. There were cardboard boxes again on the assembled bed frame and too much furniture in the way to even enter the bedroom. He had already taken off after a few hours of work, and again arrived 4 hours late. I had asked him when he arrived if he could help by clearing out the empty cardboard boxes from the assembled furniture. He said that's not part of his job, and that I would have to take care of the disposal of the boxes myself. There were over 40 ginormous boxes everywhere. I had already tipped him $200 after the first assembly trip 2 weeks earlier. He still refused to help. Even after I explained that both I and my 2 kids have long Covid, and we could not carry all those boxes. He didn't care. I paid an extra $600 for delivery and an extra $800 for assembly. Completely wasted $1400. What an utter waste of valuable time and money. Both kids' bedrooms remained unusable for a full month after their furniture was delivered. We finally managed to miraculously rearrange the furniture in their rooms, with the three of us pitching in together. It was exhausting & grueling, and made us realize how wasted that $1400 was. Just go to a real furniture store for proper service. IKEA is such a joke. read more

I could be wrong, but I swear there was a restaurant (in addition to the bistro) here, but this would have been years ago. Had to pick up one item that I knew would be in stock, and was looking forward to sitting down and eating the only meatballs I'll consume, but after walking around after making my purchase, I realize this location lacks the restaurant I enjoy at Burbank. Since the Burbank one is normally closer anyway, I'll make a point to only go to that location from here on out since I find it easier to maneuver my way around, and I know what I'm getting in to. read more

This Ikea is like most other Ikeas. It doesn't stand out nor was it bad in any way. Every Ikea is like a maze of furniture that brings out your creativity towards owning a home. We purchased a cabinet that was located downstairs in their warehouse. All you need is the code for that piece of furniture as you browse through the store. Afterwards, we bought the iconic meatballs. Of all things, Ikea has the best meatballs. Summary: - BATHROOM. Clean and simple. Hand air-dryers only, no paper towels. - CLEANLINESS. At the time of writing, it looked like some renovation was happening on some floors of Ikea. Overall, it wasn't a big issue. The store was generally clean. - COSTS. Getting expensive. Inflation is affecting all of us. The price of furniture is steadily going up and was probably 10% cheaper a year ago. - CUSTOMER SERVICE. Good. No issues with any rude employees. - FOOD QUALITY. Are you thinking of using IKEA for a kitchen installation? DON'T!!! It's been one massive headache. We paid to have a home kitchen consultation. That went fine. He's a sales person so it was all good until we tried to implement the next steps. We went to the store to order & pay for everything for our new kitchen. Instead of having everything delivered to our home, we were told to go to three other IKEA locations (Long Beach, Burbank and Costa Mesa) to pick up the materials. That's in addition to three trips to Carson. After having all the materials, we booked the installation. We paid to have the demo done and booked the installation. Who doesn't enjoy walking through IKEA. My Scandinavian go to. I so enjoy touching and experiencing the furniture before you buy it. You get amazing ideas when you walk through this store. Not to mention all the nick nacks that you didn't know you needed.. Oh and don't forget to stop by the deli food section. There's always something they're good to try. Jaylene from customer service was very rude. She made me wait a long time before speaking to me when I was trying to solve an issue of a broken bed. When she came to talk to me, the first thing she said is I don't know what you're trying to do here but we don't have the part that you're looking for. I tried to explain my issue again and she said "there ain't anything I can do for you" you want me to say it another way? Her language was unprofessional and rude and didn't have any manners. Honestly the whole store is backwards asf. I waited 40 minutes for boxes of furniture after I paid for them while 5 people stood around doing nothing and I could've just gotten the items myself but this location won't allow. The dining area is also cramped and they sell smaller portions than other locations. 0/10 go to Burbank, you'll spend as much time waiting for a single small box as you will driving up to the valley. Infuriating. Burbank and Phoenix are the other locations I've been to and they didn't force ikea employees to fetch boxes on an aimless schedule. Won't be returning here. This is about delivery, or IKEA's inability to deliver, five items, about $430 worth of stuff. The Purchase was made in store on Thursday, April 10, 2025 with delivery scheduled for Friday, April 11. It was to arrive between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm, per voice mail notification. No email notification was sent. I called the IKEA number provided in the voicemail at 1:00 pm for delivery status and was told everything was on the truck and should be delivered pretty much on time, by around 2:00 pm. With no delivery having yet arrived, I called at 3:30 pm and was told the items had never been put on the truck and there would be no delivery that day. After apologies from customer service, and a gratuitous negation of the $39 fee, delivery was rescheduled for Monday, April 14. An email notification April 13 listed the items to be delivered and indicated the delivery "was on its way". A voicemail notification the same day indicated it would arrive the next day, April 14, between 8:00 am and noon. But one $14 item was not shown on the email notice. I called customer service just before 8:00 am on April 14 to let them know about the missing item. They said the item was out of stock and that their data indicated that, once again, none of the merchandise was loaded onto the truck. They said the order might still be delivered but it was quite possible it would be delayed to another date because of the missing item, the inference being that IKEA wouldn't make two deliveries, that standard procedure under such circumstances is to postpone delivery, But the customer service person couldn't be definitive. Nor could they call the store to determine anything because the store wouldn't open until 10:00 am. Since the truck would have been out already in order to make morning deliveries, the indication was the items wouldn't arrive that day at all. The customer service representative was making sure this was understood as likely. IKEA did it again, they blew it off and said nothing, until I called, either about the missing item or the delivery. I cancelled the delivery. Now we'll see if they return the funds. I cancelled as much out of loss of confidence as anything else, confidence they would actually deliver the right stuff in good condition, given the ongoing buffoonery. To say it was all a disappointing and very time consuming experience would be an understatement. I was very much looking forward to getting these things in the house. And over the years we'd always kind of enjoyed going to IKEA, it was one of those comfortable places, a kind of "feel good" store to get basic things, things to enjoy. But never got anything to be delivered before. Advice: DO NOT GET DELIVERY from IKEA!...at least not this IKEA store. read more

I always seem to find something no matter which IKEA I end up in lol! But I did like the fact and they may have been a part of IKEA for a while, but I like the yellow little pool buggies that they have for shopping carts versus the bigger ones, especially if not getting larger items or a lot of items during your visit. I did notice as I was going through different sections that the location does need some revamping as there were ceiling drippings of roof concerns with water coming through. So they had buckets laying throughout certain areas on the floor, which intern is a trip hazard Without any signs to notify of the concern. Overall, I would say there were a few small pieces that I picked up. I did take a picture of one item that I was looking for and then when I got downstairs, they had a larger version of the item, but not the exact size that I was looking for it that kind of put a damper in my visit. I did not visit the cafeteria this time around, but it was still a pleasant visit especially getting there as soon as they open as it is less crowded. After wasting nearly an hour at the store, they told me they would call me to transfer over the credit to my credit card over the phone. They emailed me once, ghosted me, and closed the case. Making a return here is the worst! I bought the Idanas bedframe 10 weeks ago and as me and my partner were waking up, one side of the bed collapses and as we try to get off the mattress, the middle bracket and rest of the bed follows suit. The screws that were embedded (glued) into the legs of the bed frame literally ripped out of the legs. We hadn't even had the bed frame for 3 months and have never had a bed collapse beneath us. I called customer support and they said to return it to the nearest store if possible so we loaded the bed up and made the drive. We arrived, explained what happened and the lady at the register said the manager had to sign off on it. Another lady came out, looked at it real quick and walked away. Then another different lady comes out and says they can't issue a refund because it "doesn't appear to be a manufacture defect". After some back and forth, we just decided to call customer support again later. We start to load the pieces in the car and I realized, they didn't even look at the pieces that were broken! The screws that were ripped out of the legs ( and sticking out of the side frame) were facing down on the cart and none of these three ladies looked at them. I found out later that the Second Lady was the quality inspection person who determines if it's a defect on their end. We decide to go back in with the pieces showing the hardware didn't hold up and ask for it to be reinspected. This time we get a man who looks at it, again says nothing to me regarding the issue, and walks away. I see him talk to the same manager but she never comes out to us. Instead we wait 30 minutes for a different manager, Ernesto (finally started to jot down names at this point) to ask us what the issue is. I show him the screws that use to be glued into the legs. I tell him what happened. His exact words are "unfortunately I've been told we can't issue you a refund or replacement". The biggest issue I had with this is why even ask what the problem is if you already knew and someone else made a decision for you? We just wanted it reinspected after it was barely looked at and Ernesto starts accusing us of breaking it. We never exceeded the weight limit, never jumped on the bed or had it installed incorrectly. The most movement the bed incurred was during coitus, which if a $500 bedframe can't handle slight movement then why doesn't it say that?! What do they think people are doing on their beds? Sleeping perfectly still? Definitely made my blood boil when nobody in the returns section was of any help, especially the managers. They couldn't even give us a good reason for rejecting the return other than "not a manufacturer defect" despite it literally being an issue with their cheap hardware. Long story short: don't bother returning large items to the IKEA at Carson. Just call customer support and get it picked up. read more

IKEA has seriously upgraded since the last time I was here, many years ago. Really, I was never a fan of this place until my recent visit. Now I can't wait to return. They have everything you need in terms of home essentials, literally everything! I came to pick up an item I purchased online and ended up shopping for two hours. I stocked up on candles, including a 100 pack of tea light candles for only $5 and I bought a huge, beautiful Monstera plant and a nice boho planter. They have endless live plants for a fraction of what you'd pay elsewhere. If you have a boho style like me, they have a nice variety of jute rugs, planters, and place mats for dining, rattan storage baskets, and beautiful wooden salad bowls just to name a few things. Datric from the Furniture and Pickup sign is the most UNHELPFUL employee ever. They have just ONE JOB to help people load the item in their car, and they REFUSED to help my ELDERLY mom to put a bed frame in the car. We parked in the loading zone with EASY ACCESS to loading. The left side of the car was a no parking zone in front of exchanges and returns. I included the picture of what you can see from the window. And his excuse is "you need to back up the car because we're not allowed to block the street and it's too hard to load otherwise." We have a chevrolet tahoe with SPACIOUS room. It is 85 degrees outside and it appears he didnt want to go outside. And because he gave me a hard time, and refused to call anyone else to help us, my ELDERLY mom and I had to load the heavy boxes ourselves. What would have taken less than 5 minutes to help us load took my ELDERLY mom and I much longer! I went back to get his name and he REFUSED to talk to me saying "I'll get the manager". The manager gave me his name and that was it. She did not give me her name. If you are elderly and require assistance loading items into your car, THIS IKEA IS THE WORST PLACE TO GO. THEY REFUSE TO HELP. Employees like Datric do not care about the elderly and want everything their way before they can provide help. OK where to begin with Ikea is a very huge store with the building just as huge, parking is no problem at all because even the lot is huge too. As you enter staff greet you to make sure you're wearing a mask, now up two escalator to begin your shopping maze. Ikea has everything you need to furnish your place from your office bedroom, dining room, living room, kitchen, bathroom and even your outside area. Ikea furnishings is affordable and cheap plus some items require you to assembly. On your larger items you order the staff will write it up give you a slip to take and pay for it at the cashier downstairs and pick up outside. A lot of furnishings do look good and last from here, but one thing to remember you get what you pay for. read more

This place has the worst food and the dirtiest dining area among all IKEA stores worldwide. It's completely different from the impression I had when I visited years ago. Now, the dining area has no staff cleaning up; the tables are filthy, trash is overflowing from the bins, and, worst of all, the food is terrible. The hot dogs are cold, the kids' meal--which is completely different from what is advertised on the website--only includes two meatballs. Despite being priced the same as in other locations, the portion sizes are pitifully small. The meal that is supposed to include green beans is priced as such but doesn't actually have any. This location compared to the Burbank one is not as up to par. They don't have the classic blue carts, but instead smaller gray style carts that you'd find at a grocery store. It's still has the showroom and their classic Swedish foods. There is a Bistro at the exit that is more 'to-go' style since you pick it up at a window whereas the Burbank location is more cafeteria like. At least they have the classic Swedish Meatballs though! Is it even a trip to IKEA if you don't get their Swedish Meatballs? I don't think so. I recommend checking the IKEA website to check inventory which is the reason why I ventured to this location instead. IKEA also can notify you when a product is back in stock. In Europe we enjoy stopping at IKEA restaurants for food. They have plates with different kinds of meats, dumplings, meatballs, a variety of vegetables, and a whole section for desserts! We stopped at IKEA in Carson expecting something similar. Depressing. Just depressing. We saw a few gray limp, hot dogs,and some dried pizza slices that looked like they have been sitting there at least six hours. There were Swedish meatballs hidden under a cover, you could get 8 for $8 and each meatball was half the size of a Chicken McNugget. Never again. My next stop at an IKEA restaurant will be back in Poland, not the USA. Got to the location to pick up the purchases and they said they didn't have the item in stock anymore. He said let me talk to the manager and see if he can give you guys 10% off which is the same as $10 off $100, manager came in and said nope sorry I can't give you a discount for your repurchase of items. I just love ikea when they are decently stocked. I came for a couple of 74in lack shelving for a DIY project. They provided the best prices for the product you receive. My husband was able to cut it to fit in our living room and it looked fantastic. These floating shelves were selling for $50-70 bucks everywhere else I looked. Thanks IKEA! read more

Offering self check out as an option for your dumbest or most impatient customers to be tricked into working for free is bad enough, When you try to make it the only way that people can leave the store, you lost me. I'm your customer, and you should want to make that experience great, especially during check out. You are a multi million dollar store who can absolutely positively hire people. On top of that you have two people sitting there staring at people and trying to herd people to self check out. If you've got two people to can stand around chatting you got two people that can run a register, and chances are they'll put people through a lot faster than themselves. I walked out of your store with over $400 worth of goods just sitting on your stupid cashier counter because nobody would check me out and help pack up my stuff. I hope it was worth it. I'm not coming back till you get your shit together and hire some cashiers. My hourly rate is 100 bucks an hour, does that mean that I get to subtract 25 bucks for every 15 minutes that my check out takes? Didn't think so. I'm not stupid and neither are your customers. I've bought plenty of things here before, but from this point forward if I don't see people at the checkout, I'm just going to shop somewhere else, and chances are it'll be better quality than what I was going to get at IKEA anyways.
