Warranty Experience with Chef's Toys and Mulberry Technology Initial Purchase and Expectations In 2023, we invested a total of $26,472.61, which included taxes and two warranty insurance plans, for a 3-door KINTORA refrigerator and a 2-door KINTORA freezer. Our initial experience was smooth and hassle-free, largely thanks to our salesperson, Estaban Aguirre. Unfortunately, we later discovered that Estaban was no longer with the company. The Issue Arises On March 6, 2026, the hinge of our 3-door KINTORA refrigerator broke, rendering the refrigerator unusable. Since we had purchased a warranty, we immediately reached out to Estaban for assistance, only to learn from Raul Flores that Estaban was no longer employed with Chef's Toys. Raul provided us with contact information for Mulberry Technology, who was supposed to handle our warranty claims. Challenges with the Warranty Process This marked the beginning of a frustrating ordeal. It quickly became apparent that Chef's Toys was not well-acquainted with Mulberry Technology. Raul initially gave us an incorrect contact number for starting our claim. He directed us to Joshua Wohl at Mulberry, who, while not involved in claims processing, was helpful enough to connect us with the appropriate department--after we had already experienced several unhelpful responses from Raul. After sending our purchase order to Karime, our contact at Mulberry, we learned that Chef's Toys had never registered our protection plan with Mulberry or transferred the necessary funds for our warranty. We attempted to follow up with Raul but received no response until we escalated our concerns to Chef's Toys' corporate office. Unfortunately, reaching out to their main line at 714-662-2433 during business hours of M-F between 9am-5pm only led to a voicemail, and our emails through their website also went unanswered. This is TERRIBLE! Resolution and Lingering Frustrations Eventually, Raul from Chef's Toys responded and offered a courtesy repair for our refrigerator door but informed us that our remaining warranty coverage would not be honored. This was frustrating, as we had already paid for the warranty. During this period, on March 25, the Health Department visited and deducted points from our inspection due to the non-functional equipment. We promptly notified Raul about the urgency, as another inspection was scheduled for April 6. Fortunately, the Health Department accepted our communication with Raul and a photo of the completed repair as proof. The entire process--from the breakdown on March 6 to the repair on April 6--took a full month. This delay was disappointing, especially given that waiting for a part should not have justified such a lengthy timeline; someone could have delivered the part to expedite the repair. read more

2.21.26 Hubby looking for a knife, I'm looking for a sharpening tool It's a smaller scale store but I can easily spend at least an hour roaming the aisles. I love to cook & I see all the possibilities of the items to make life easier or more efficient here. My santoku is starting to become dull & needs sharpening. I couldn't my favorite chef 's knife (the whole knife block cannot be found!) Hubby found a chefs knife & he got me the sharpener. I told him I wanted to get the stone/honing block but he opted for the metal kind. The staff are super helpful & answered our questions. There so many "toys" I wanted to buy but I must resist the urge to amass more "clutter" (that's what Hubby calls it, but he reaps the benefit when he eats what I cook). I still need a dumpling rolling pin, but they only have standard types at this location. Aisles are fairly spacious & inventory appears well stocked, neatly arranged & sorted. Prices are fair & marked accordingly. It has its own designated free parking lot. Good shopping trip, met our goals. read more

Haven't been here ever. I used to go to Chefs' toys when they were at their other location. But I needed specific sized ice cream scoop to make arancini. So took a quick drive, it's pretty close to home. Got there just after it opened on a Friday, plenty of parking. I walked in and the place looked so spacious. A woman at the counter greeted me and I just walked around like a kid in a candy store. Ok grabbed the specific size scoop I wanted and of course grabbed a couple other items I didn't know I needed SMH. I new meat clever a knife sharpener a meat tenderizer a cheese slicer yep go fir one item leave with many. I went to the counter paid, was a smooth friendly transaction and went home to get my cooking groove on. Will recommend for all your culinary needs. Don't be shy anyone can shop here. read more

Big Bro needed a cooking probe thermometer since he planned on smoking ribs and brisket for 16-18 hours. Did my diligent Yelp search and found this place. Sadly, we couldn't find what we needed. (They were really limited with thermometers. The ones they had you can find in some random grocery store.) But the reason for the 3 stars are the choices for your kitchen needs: chaffing dishes, high end kitchen knives, takeout containers, paper plates/bowls/utensils sold in bulk, etc... It was a quick stop, but I will return for those takeout containers. I'd most likely take more time to look around then as there are discoveries to be made! read more

Amazed that this place doesn't have more reviews & pictures! Located right across the street from Restaurant Depot, this has been my go-to spot for the past two years. Chefs' Toys is open to the public and has almost anything a chef or cook needs! They also have a parking lot right next to it so you don't have to park on the street. From chef coats and thermometers to bus tubs and silverware, There's a wide assortment of things that you'd find in any restaurant. Their prices are also pretty reasonable and I always end up leaving here with a handful of things I didn't know I needed until I laid eyes on them. Don't even get me started on their knife selection! There's so many to look at I'm always tempted to get one despite having a suitable one at home. They also do knife sharpening here for pretty cheap! Really convenient because if you drop it off M - Th you can pick it up the next day. You don't have to worry about incorrectly "sharpening" your knife at home and scratching/ruining it. The service here is really good as well. There's always someone wandering the aisles in case you need help finding anything. They also have a small bookcase with some used culinary textbooks. A few of them I even read myself in culinary school! If you're in culinary school or just interested in learning I'd definitely recommend looking at them since they'd be more affordable than buying new books. Overall, this place is my heaven. If a customer lost their credit card, yet had their receipt--and asked for a refund or credit...how would you credit/refund the customer???? That's my gripe with you/your policy. I had my receipt and I did NOT have the same credit card I used when I first came back. I didn't want to have to make a special trip back to your store since it is grossly out of the way. My husband and I went here yesterday to find a restaurant-grade kitchen rack, so that we can put it in our kitchen and use it to store food, like a pantry, almost. We found what we were looking for and it was really nice. The only thing is that they didn't have it in stock, so it had to be ordered, but it's supposed to come in on Tuesday. I can't wait to set it up and start using it. It will be a real space saver. Overall, the store is like a chef's warehouse. They have everything you can think of, from expensive stoves, refrigerator/freezers, fryers and giant soup pots to aprons, cookbooks, knives, plates, floor mats, etc. The store is clean and well-organized. The gentleman who helped us was very friendly, which I appreciated and the prices were better than I expected. For pricing, it's 1-4 dollar signs, because it depends on what you are getting, as to the expense of it, but for the most part, they are very affordable. I love shopping for kitchen stuff. Or maybe I keep hoping to run into Ludo ::melt :: We bought a ceramic garlic mincing dish for $1.00. They sell similar items at farmer's markets/swap meets for $20. I guess you pay extra for the toxic lead paint. Our goal was to buy a wok. Several different sizes to choose from. Since it's only the two of us, we bought one that was rather small. The MU ended up cooking for the neighborhood that night and discovered that: 1. Woks are very messy 2. The Veal Princess does NOT like cleaning grease off her stove/backsplash, countertops, cupboards, etc. 3. A small wok means you have to cook food in small portions We also bought an avocado slicer (WAY COOL!) and some disposable serving bowls. We normally shop at the Fountain Valley location, but thought Torrance would have a larger selection of woks. Great place for us amateurs to ogle the merchandise. Although not in the restaurant business full time I do do the occasional catering or pop up secret dinner. Any time I need that special thing/tool to pull something off and help me grow as a home cook with a mission this is the place to find it and get it NOW!
