I hadn't been in this store in a couple of years so I decided to go in and buy some chocolate 5 lbs. to be exact . When I try to use it the next day the chocolate insert of melting it just got hot and hard so I decided to call the store when I was explain to her I believe it's the owner all she was trying to do was making it seem like I didn't know how to melt chocolate all five lbs. was the same thing that just means that her chocolate has been sitting there and it's old. She didn't try helping in any way so beware if you buy chocolate. read more

Don't waste your time running around from Michaels to Joannes who don't have anything you need and who are usually out of everything. I was in need of food coloring the professional kind and special frosting tips ...working on my custom cookie hobby . I was trying to find gold coloring and nobody had it, even on Amazon it would take wayyyyy to long to get to me . I had shopped here a couple years ago and totally forgot about them because baking is just a hobby and I don't always have time to spend a week making custom cookies for my cousin daughter's birthday lmao anyhoo Like a rookie I went running around wasting time and gas at Michaels and Joannes who only carry supplies for those basic people lol then I remembered this place!! I came here for supplies for a Game of Thrones surprise party. The woman who I spoke with (probably the owner?) was extremely helpful, and I needed a lot of help since I've never melted chocolate with anything but my hands before. :P She gave me general instructions, answered my questions and suggested a website for color blending chocolate. There were lots of supplies in a very small space, and everything I bought seemed very reasonably priced. Granted, I've never been shopping for the stuff before, but I'm pretty cheap, so... Since I was making the chocolate dragon egg for looks, I didn't have high expectations for taste, but it was addictive, especially after being refrigerated. Creamy, slowly melting, with a snap that makes it feel fancy. I used Merken's chocolate for everything, per the lady of the store's excellent suggestion. read more

I love coming to this store. The owner is friendly and helpful. There was a small line to get into the store but we are in Covid so I can appreciate the person at the door trying to maintain order and keep everyone safe. They had everything I needed to complete my treat orders. I have tried other chain stores like Hobby Lobby/Michael's, etc...but their products/brands do not compare!!! They also don't offer nearly as many product options under one roof. A true baker/candy maker, etc understands the value of this little store. Cake Palace keeps me from having to drive all over town. Been coming to this store for ages and it's only gotten better since the new owner took over. She gives me solutions and creative ideas to help me complete my orders and projects. For me it's a 20 min drive to get there....but I am so thankful that I found this place! If you are in need for any kind of baking supplies, this is the place to go. I always get what I need for my baking business and more the Ladies are awesome and always helpful! Doesn't matter if you are looking for cookie cutter, cake pans or chocolate molds, they get you covered and if they don't have it they will order it if it's possible! i have shopped here multiple times over the years and never had an issue other than everything is WAY over priced there's a lot of other stores i can recommend that are WAY cheaper and have more of a variety. The last time i shopped here was a month ago and i spent $80 here . when i got home and tried to use the melting chocolate it didn't melt . i tried a lot of different methods to melting the chocolate and nothing worked. i talked to someone from that store and they kept trying to accuse me of doing something wrong to the chocolate ???? she kept insisting that maybe i did this or that and if i tried different methods maybe i did it wrong . i've been working with chocolate for years and this was the first time here or ever that this has happened. the chocolate was getting hot but not melting not even a little bit it actually got harder than how it originally was. she didn't offer a refund or store credit or anything all the $80 of chocolate i bought off of them i've tried to use it over and over knowing it wasn't going to melt i still tried in hope that maybe some will work and nothing . i wasted $80 and never again ! not at this over priced store where all they care about is making money. Luckily they have what I was looking for...and a lot more that will keep your creativity run wild. Today I went there to purchase some cookie icing/frosting and the women who helped me was not helpful at all. She was curt and almost rude. I walked out without purchasing and instead went to Hobby Lobby for my needs. Not only was it cheaper, but I didn't have to deal with attitude. Reminisce with me... - Candied letters of pure azucar... they made my teeth hurt but I always ate my whole name off the cake anyway! - Shelves upon shelves of molds to make cake versions of trains, cars, Easter eggs, Shamrocks, Xmas trees, and even pineapples! My most memorable birthday cake, baked by my Grandma, was in the shape of a dress for my Barbie doll (with my doll stuck in the middle!) I'm sure if I looked hard enough, they would have the tools here to create it again! - Boxes of every little, plastic decoration you could think of to decorate a cake for any celebration... some of my favs were tiny old school records and miniature cans of Pabst Blue Ribbon. - Edible glitter of various colors... hmm, that may have more uses than just cake decoration! Great variety in merchandise for your baking needs. Competitive prices and I found what I couldn't find at cookin stuff in Torrance. They have corsages, cookies, cakes, candy boxes galore. A lot of Disney and cartoon characters for kids bday parties and cupcake liners to match. There are a lot of candy molds for every occasion. I'll be coming back and the staff as nice and not pushy but answered my questions and they said that if they don't somehow have what you are looking for then they'll get it for you too! I LOVE THIS PLACE! Ive been to 4 different cake supply stores from Orange County to Long Beach and this is by far the greatest because of a very important thing, PRICING! I was blown away at purchasing 50pc cupcake liner for $1.70 not a solid plain color liner but a Tinkerbell & Hello Kitty Regular Sized Cupcake Liner! The other places i've been to were selling thing for $2.99+up for 50pc, some for 25 pc for about $2+!!! Ok, so the place is a bit on the small and tight spaced end, BUT they have ALOT of stuff. They don't have cupcake boxes w/the inserts. like the other stores, but they do carry the see through plastic cupcake holder box that carries 6, or they have cake boxes that can hold cupcakes, just not the inserts. I will absolutely be coming back here, its so worth the drive really, plus my parents live in Carson, so its not at all far from where they live. The staff is very friendly and funny. Not like the other two in OC I went to. They were friendly yes, but more rushing you out than saying hi, how can i help you, etc. Love love love this place! :D read more

The staff is amazingly helpful and offers advice to simplify or add to your creations. Prices are reasonable compared to other shops I've been to. On my daughters 1st birthday I wanted to make cake pops and this is the place I came too. They had different size sticks and baggies for whatever size pops I was making. I grabbed a couple baggies of the pink candy melt and a white chocolate as well. I was ready to check out when the the lady made me aware that I needed an additional product to make the pink candy melt easier to work with. This used to be a great store. Unfortunately, since the ownership change, the quality has gone down considerably. The store is cramped, disorganized, and has much less products than it used to. The customer service lacks quality. Today was the final straw-- I found out they're not disability friendly. They use strong incense which triggers those who have respiratory allergies or disabilities. The ownership does not care about those with disabilities. If you have any respiratory allergy, asthma, or any other non-visible disability, take your business elsewhere! If you are in mobility-impaired, take your business elsewhere!
