Review #982 2026-048 HomeGoods is located on the north end of Torrance Promenade; the store replaced part of defunct Kmart. Owned by TJX, it's a sister company to T.J. Maxx & Marshalls, selling home accessories, furniture, linens, cooking products, etc. HomeGoods used to offer online shopping but removed it a couple of years ago (10/2023) to refocus on the "treasure hunt" in-store experience due to low e-commerce sales & ever changing inventory for that surprise find. Their inventory of "home goods" is usually larger, better, & competitively priced in comparison to its sister companies. HG also stocks snacks, treats, coffees & teas, etc., but their prices are slightly higher than T.J. Maxx & Marshalls. Over the years, I alternated between this location at Torrance Promenade & the one in Torrance Crossroads on Crenshaw Blvd. (refer to Review #821) for deals on bedding, blankets, cookware & kitchenware, etc. I prefer shopping here for cookware & kitchenware because it's better organized than the hodgepodge at Torrance Crossroads. Parking is equally challenging since they're next door to Marshalls, particularly on weekends. My recent visit was looking for a nonstick fry pan replacement. Marshalls stocked only ceramic frying pans... this popularity surge was due to their marketing as a non-toxic, eco-friendly, & safer alternative to Teflon, ceramics' nonstick properties durability is short by 1/2 or more of the estimated lifespan. I was so happy to find an All-Clad pan... both versions: ceramic & nonstick were available, & I stuck with the nonstick (pun intended... LOL). Since we recently adopted a 2nd cat, I checked out their cat supplies but didn't find anything that could withstand Butter's high energy, macho tendencies. He's quite friendly & isn't destructive towards our furniture, yet he's more rough on his toys. His l'il sis, Snow, rivals Butter's play enthusiasm since he joined the family, & ripped a modular track with ball within a couple of weeks. Though the cardboard scratchers are nice, I think sisal poles or boards may work better for both their personalities, especially since they influence each other's behaviors. I normally don't see any staff on the floor, but if you need help, you can always ask a cashier to page someone for assistance. If you're looking for an alternative to expensive retail home décor & furnishings, HomeGoods is the place to be for competitively priced "home goods" for your home. read more

The good: I got some chamoy gummy bears here and they are one of the best candies I've ever had in my life. They weren't wet and gross. The powder on the outside was finer and not grainy. It was delicious and they had pineapple gummies too! I will be coming back to get this yummy. It was under $4. My brother and I devoured a bag in a day. I also got a lamp here for $50. I expected it to be cheaper but got it anyway because I didn't like the other options. I love their candle selection, office supplies, pet supplies and picture frames. It's hard to beat their prices. The bad: I wanted to look for sun-related or yellow party items (plates, napkins, banners, decoration etc) but didn't see any. The interesting: I found toilet paper holder here that was the exact same looking one as the one I got from Anthropologie for twice the price. read more

The store looked good. Pretty well organized and clean. Enjoyed browsing the store. Nothing affordable caught our eye. Still, it was a nice visit overall. read more

Love knickknacks or looking for some unique one-of-a-kind items for your home? This is your place. Reasonably priced umm, well as the name says, home goods. This is a professional browser's dream. Hmm, browser sounds like it's internet-related in this computer age. What was it called before? Window shopping? Okay, this place is window shopping deluxe from the inside. This is a busy shopping area and during these times, HomeGoods has someone at the door to greet you and they are counting the people coming and going and when the inside reaches a max social distancing level, they hold the herd at the door and a line starts to form. Have to wait until some people leave. They do have the floor marked with arrows to show the direction of people traffic flow but you know how that goes. If drivers ignored traffic signs the way people ignore store signs, you'd stay off the streets from all the accidents. Maybe we need a DMV for store customers. You have to pass a test that shows you can follow directions and maintain proper spacing. You'll be issued a license to shop and store police will give out tickets to unconscious customers. read more

This store is very unprofessional and very rude staff all around. Does not help look for untagged merchandise and rips off red tags when you're at the cash register stating this is the wrong price when they're the ones who attached the sticker. Be alert of this store they're doing fraud here! I will be alerting corporate about this. They need to be managed better. They lost my service and service of all my friends and family. I don't really shop for anything for our home when it comes to decorative pieces. But, we started to purge and clean up our place a bit. It got us in the mood to start redecorating, added some new furniture etc. We got to a point where we really were excited with the changes we made, so we needed some final touches in terms of home decor. We came to this Home Goods location for the first time and let me tell you. This location is WAY better than the other Torrance location off of Skypark/Crenshaw. This location is much more organized, spaced out and their employees are super friendly. We'll continue to come here for all of our home goods needs. read more

This HomeGoods is located in the heart of the South Bay in the large shopping center that used to house K Mart on Hawthorne Boulevard for those of us who can remember back that far. That's just to let you know where it is and so you will know that there is tons of parking. Like most HomeGoods, this store is full of all kinds of stuff Whether you are looking for furniture, linens, home decorations, pet supplies, or the various level of tchotchkes that this store-chain offers, you can find it here. The store is packed full. Like other HomeGoods, the shopping aisles at this location are fairly tight. That is because of the fact that they offer so much stuff. Thus, no matter what you were looking for you will probably be able to find it here. Overall, getting to this location is easy, parking at this location is fairly easy, the staff at this location is always nice, friendly, and helpful, and you can find that item that you really need or that item that you never knew that you needed. I came here because my cousin needed to return something, and I was realy hesitant to bring my wallet because I just KNEW I would end up bringing things I didn't need home. Well, lo and behold, I brought home things I didn't need. This store is organized, yet structured in a way where you will definitely pass by things you don't NEED yet are intrigued to look at, pick up and eventually place into your cart. Only issue I had with this place is that the entire store smelled like moth balls? I forgot about it every so often but in some aisles the smell would hit harder than others, and it wasn't very pleasant. Other than that, I was overall satisfied. The cashier worker that helped me was super ecstatic. (So sorry didn't catch her name) She commented about every single item I bought saying "Oooh this is cute!" or "Wow have you tried these? Should I get it?" She really made me feel less guilty about my purchase haha. I wish I got her name, she is amazing!! read more

As we are leaving on a major assignment in Europe, we have a big farewell-eat-all-the-German-cookies-glühwein-party at our house tomorrow. All in all, we need fifty gifts, so I spent more than $1000 on little surprises, almost $400 in this HomeGoods today. One of the items did not have a price tag. I told the lady that other items in that size were 5.99. She sent someone, who brought another, significant bigger piece, which was 9.99. I tried to explain she was comparing apples with oranges - she did not care. I did not want to waste more time on a $4 issue - I will not go again as a matter of principle. read more

I love HomeGoods! This one in particular seems more organized and has a bigger selection of items compared to the surrounding stores. I love how it has a designated pet section. I've been looking for a hallway mirror for 3 days straight and been to the other HomeGoods. One thing I noticed was that their clearance section was very organized. Also the employees on this particular evening on a Friday were very nice and helpful. They all greeted me and assisted with my mirror without me even having to ask. Also, I love Barbara! Official HomeGoods addict and this is one of my fave stores in the area as it is in a row with other big box factory stores so you can shop hop along all day, taking a break inbetween to walk over to Trader Joe's for a salad lunch ;) I always find something I don't need and really really do need here, for half the price you can find in department stores, and often cheaper than online too. It is always full of stock and a good turn over of good so there is always something new to find. Plus I usually get great service from the friendly staff....but....and here is the 4* reason....the carts don't work outside so you have to carry everything to your car! I see so many people struggling with their purchases, and at the weekend and peak times there are so many cars parked right outside the door loading up heavy items that it is hard to get into the store. Wish there was a way of unlocking the carts so customers weren't abandoned at the door. read more

They have a really nice selection of home decor at this location. Employees are very friendly and watched my carts while I pulled my car up to load my purchases. As with other TJX store locations they have arrows on the floor to direct traffic for people to maintain social distancing, and these are being ignored because...people. I recommend coming in as soon as they open or later in the evening when it's less crowded so you don't run into this issue. We encountered a lot of ignorant customers taking their masks off and not being courteous to others, crowding their space or spending a ton of time taking up an entire aisle. The store itself seems to be well stocked and the center aisles are emptied out to keep the area open which is nice. read more

I have been to a number of HomeGoods locations around LA and I truly believe this one is the best. Every time I come here I always find exactly what I am looking for with a variety of options. The store is neat and the employees I have interacted with are friendly and helpful. There have been a few times I have been on the fence about making a purchase and end up putting it back because I suffer from impulse buying when something is cute even though I really don't need it. I end up coming back the next day and the item is gone. I recommend if you see something you like GET IT! You can always return it later. This is also a great location because there is a Marshalls, Ross, Party City and Trader Joes just to name a few within walking distance in the same lot. The Homegoods shopping carts do not go very far in the parking lot without locking, but there is a yellow loading zone in front of the store where you can leave your purchase next to the cash registers and pull your car in front to load any heavy items. read more

What What a disappointing experience. Granted the store is a discount store, so what can one expect? I had selected several items, one of which was a rug / runner. Since it had no price I asked a a nearby associate a price. Adolfo selected a similar rug and told me to tell them at the checkout register. So I did. The woman said - 'Oh no That's wrong. Adolfo is a newer employee ' After standing in line I was now having to wait AGAIN while this woman goes searching for a price - there were no exact rugs of this type. The price she decides on is 50% more and can provide no example and has no apologies for: the item not being marked, the error of the floor associate or the additional wait. Tonto it off her attitude was flip and cavalier. Ugh - what more can I say? Management attitude trickles down to the employees. read more

This place has a ton of different types of items to choose from ranging from furniture to Knick-Knacks. Good luck getting out of the store in a timely manner once you really begin to look through the merch. I went to return some items today before the Christmas cut off and Jazmine the "manager on duty" "(why they chose her I can guess for a 100 years and will still be at my wits end.") had the worst customer service skills ever. This store has become one of my favorite stores to shop at! Much better than Macy's! The prices can't be beat! I was shopping for an all-clad pan & and to my surprise they had a 10 piece set for a ridiculous price of $249!!! Regularly priced at $499!!! These are the HA 1 Nonstick Hard Anodized cookware! The top of the line for this brand!!! Alexandra the store employee talked me into it and putting this box into a cart! She even got the cart for me!!! Originally I had two pans on hold that Shapnea keep for me! I had to go home to get my money! Then I get to the checkout and manager Irma said I should open up an T.J. Maxx rewards credit card! She said I could receive 10% off if I was approved! I was!!!! Three lovely employees made this all happened!!! I received the best, outstanding, Award winning, customer service! I stopped by here today on a whim because I was in the shopping center and oh my GOSH I forgot how much I love this place! They have so many things here that I wanted to buy but I definitely would have been broke if I bought everything here that I liked. Although, I did make a few select purchases that I am most proud of: I was browsing around the kitchen department and found a nice thermometer. My boyfriend and I have started baking and cooking a lot of stuff together and had been looking for a nice, but reasonably priced thermometer to measure the temperatures of stuff when we're baking breads and whatnot. The lowest priced one I saw at Target was $12 and guess how much this one was at Home Goods? $3.99! I literally screamed when I saw how cheap it was. I was going to buy a cute dachshund sign that said "Live long and prosper" but I opted not to, thinking of the limited wall space I had in my room. I was a little disappointed by that until I came across an adorable dog mug by the checkout line. It was the cutest thing ever and, to top it off, it was $4.99 and had a dachshund on it too! I HAD to get it - I have to feed my dachshund addiction in some way, come on. Needless to say, you will, without a doubt, find at least one thing to buy when you come to Home Goods - they have just about everything for your home! Their prices are unbeatable! I struggle with stores like this one...these types of "everything" stores aren't my favorite (same concept as TJ Maxx, Loehmans, Ross, Tuesday Morning, Marshall's). I'm not a shopper. I can't stand searching through rows and shelves and sales floors full of things that have been picked through or displayed haphazardly. This is one of those stores. Yes you can find treasures at fantastic bargains, which in my opinion is the "reward" for your hard work. Another quirky attribute of these types of stores is the fragrance that permeates throughout. The smell of cheap candles, the likes of which are never really purchased by anyone who has a decent sense of smell. I can't figure out why a retailer thinks they will sell them....eventually, and maybe they do, but not to this reviewer. This shopping center is conveniently located but it does have a couple of the aforementioned stores so parking and crowds are likely especially on the weekends. read more

I love home goods, their products are gorgeous! Unfortunately I received a very bad customer service from one of the cashiers named STACY at this location. My friend and I went in home goods just to look around without the intention of buying anything.I fell in love with these night lights so I decided to purchase them with apple pay because my purse was in the car.As I approached Stacy the cashier she told me home goods didnt accept apple pay.I was fine with that and told her I wont be making the purchase today since I dont have my purse on me.She gave me the most nastiest look and took the lights and placed it behind her.Feeling humiliated I went to my car. I really wanted the lights so I got my credit card from the car and went to home goods to buy them.I waited in line for 5-7 mins than I got Stacy again. When she sees me she says "yes" in her nasty tone again.Clearly I am there to purchase the lights that is still placed on back of her.She didnt even say Hi or Bye after making the transaction but I saw her say it to other customers.Not only this, everytime I go to this Home Goods she just gives me the evil stares This cashier needs to learn to respect all customers whether they make purchases or not. After not finding mantle stocking hangers from Marshalls we came in to home goods. Wow this place was packed. We came in the week before Christmas so maybe that was a factor but it was a little overwhelming for us. I wasn't able to find what I needed but I did find a few other nice items. What I did like about this store were the beautiful array of throw blankets, it was possibly a little more extensive than other stores that I've been to. The place seemed a little picked over and a little messy which was mirrored by the marshalls next door but it wasn't too far away from most of these stores that I've been in. For the average everyday item that you are looking for, this place gets the job done. read more

This is the 6th home goods store I've been to in the past 3 days and while it's not the largest one I've been to, it's definitely the most organized. You can get lost in HomeGoods stores with all the different types of products that they sell so I really appreciate that this one keeps everything so neat. A special shout out to the pillow section. Wow. Color coordinated and the pillows were kept with their mates. In other HomeGoods stores, I would have to search all pillow-aisles to see if they had two of the same pillow..not here. Bravo to the woman in charge of this section (I saw her organizing the pillows so I know who it was). She exemplifies the idea that we should do our best at whatever job we take on. read more

Great place for gift ideas! It was my first time stepping into this store. The products they sell are pretty cool. For those who like making things or like unique products, this place can give you ideas. My side addiction. This is my secret place for great quality home and kitchen furnishings at super, super low prices. I have bought so many great items from this particular Homegoods to decorate vacation rental homes for my company (Rental Ninjas). My second favorite is the one next to Del Amo mall, followed by the one in Burbank, and I'm told (by other experienced decorators) that Glendale is good too. The worst one in terms of inventory is the one by LAX (El Segundo). I have bought expensive-looking paintings, crystal lamps, super unique side tables, rugs, decor, fake plants, scented linen linings, benches, and so much more. And they have an incredibly friendly staff of people who help with inventory, check out and even help you load things to your car. It's refreshing to have such great service when having gone to Ross for so long. (Some of the worst customer service in retail is at Ross.) read more

WOW is all I can say about this store which opened today at the site of the old K-Mart on Hawthorne Boulevard near 190th Street. I'm a big fan of the other location in Torrance Crossroads (near Crenshaw and Skypark) and this one is even better! I think it might be a little larger, and it's jam-packed to the gills with all kinds of home decor. They have one-of-a-kind furniture pieces, lamps, linens, glassware, garden items, dishes, kitchen gadgets, pillows, kids' stuff, Halloween items, photo frames, pet supplies, decorator pillows, art, and the list goes on and on. Seeing all these beautiful things makes you want to get rid of every single thing in your home (except your clothes, of course) and start over. read more

In general, I love HomeGoods. After finally getting my own place, I need to stock quite a number of items for the house. The prices are always great to fair and they stock a wide range of goods. The parking at this HomeGoods can be difficult, but it's worth it to hit up the Loehmann's and Marshall's in one sweep. read more

Bought a kid's piggy bank and one of the legs broke off the same day. i brought it back the next day with my receipt and got a full refund. They have great customer service and I get tempted to buy everything in the store as they look so good! Sometimes you can find a real good deal. I'm def coming back. read more
