Love Manhattan beach and their local stores. So many cute stores around town with unique items. This one is really nice if you are looking for items for your home or even for gifting. Lots of candles, lotions, vases, plates and more. They even have a nice selection of cookbooks. Furniture and bedding even some fashion jewelry... cutest pieces here. It's nicely organized and really fun to browse. There was a sidewalk sale going on last weekend so they had a few items at 50% off outside. I got a cute and unique vase under $30. Customer service was not so friendly but not bad either. read more

I have been in the market for dish ware. Not urgent, just wanted to find something that "speaks " to me. I happened to walk by and saw dishes and completely fell in love with the pattern. I was able to purchase a set of four dinner and four dessert plates for a reasonable price. Kim helped me. She was very pleasant and kind. This was my first visit to the store. I love this place. Jill and Ashley are wonderful. The store is inspiring but their service and design capabilities are great. To be fair, I leverage their experts to confirm or deny what I'm thinking for my home, or suggest what I may have overlooked. They have pieces that are affordable and on the higher end so you really can play to many budgets. I especially love their taste in photography and pillows -next level. I'm not an easy client and although they don't always return my calls/texts - I'm ok with it because I am not a huge spending client. Just happen to go into this boutique because it looked so inviting from the outside, with their Christmas table decorations. My daughter and I were just browsing but found the most wonderful cover for the cold and a comfy robe. We were so delighted with our finds that we bought them. lol The woman whom helped us (I believe her name was Kim, but i may be wrong) was just so nice and kind. She made us feel like we had known each other for years and we chatted for a bit. I highly recommend Waterleaf interiors. I will be going back the next time I visit my daughter in Hermosa Beach. read more

My beautiful cousin Melanie brought me to this sweet boutique tucked away in Downtown Manhattan Beach's Sand Section. Close to the busy Manhattan Beach Blvd & N Valley intersection across from Vons. It's wall to wall quintessential coastal living. A little tight to walk through because it's merchandised with Manhattan Beach everything so it might be good to visit here sans strollers or kids. Beautiful flow of colors and styles galore. Just about every inch of this treasure trove has been carefully mapped out by a discerning eye for spacial organization. Very well organized and all laid out so lovely. There were no piles of Black Friday remnants to sort through. It was clear the details mattered here. Wow! I love how I was able to walk around the store several times without being followed with pretentious sales people. I didn't want to just pick out something pretty, I wanted to be inspired. When I asked the gal behind the counter if I could take photos she seemed relieved that I wasn't going to ask her a hundred questions. "Yes! Please do!" I found a number of inspiring pieces from hand wrapped rattan chairs to stacked books to seashell home decor. Yes, you can expect to pay higher prices here as with any other designer boutique in West Los Angeles. Stacy was very hospitable and thanked us for coming in as we headed out. Beautiful coastal aesthetic! The prices are high, but the quality is too. When I want something special for my home, I head to Waterleaf.

Rude employees = major turn off. My parents just moved to Manhattan Beach and have an entire waterfront house to decorate in Coastal decor. Being in the interior design world, I was confident that this design service/home goods spot would be the way to go so I took my mom and sister to this store over others. The second we walked in, the middle aged blonde at the counter turned her back to us and proceeded to ignore us for the entire 15 minutes we were in the store. No "hello" no "welcome in" no "let me know if I can help you" not a word the entire time we were there, and we were the only people in the store until the very very end when it seemed someone she knew walked in. It was so noticeable that she thought we were just window shoppers and couldn't be bothered to even say hi or look at us. I surely wouldn't be wanting this type of attitude from an interior designer whom you spend years working with and pay thousands and thousands of dollars to. I am incredibly disappointed as it wasn't a very nice welcome to the neighborhood. Take your business somewhere else, they clearly don't care and you won't receive the help you need or deserve. If the woman who was working isn't the owner, I would be mortified to have this attitude at my store, especially since she just cost me a very large sale. And as a business owner myself, this type of "service" surely isn't helping small businesses stay alive. Sad. read more

Bought some merchandise at Waterleaf interiors. Worked with Ali. What a gem. She is wonderful to deal with and super helpful. Although what I didn't like is, both days we were there, employees from their interior design side came over to the retail side of the store unmasked. With a state wide mandate in place, this behavior is reckless. The owners of this store should not allow employees to mingle maskless. The customers don't. Beautiful assortment of home decor, some of the best beachy and coastal style furniture you'll find anywhere. I have shopped here for years and went in the other day to see about having Jill the owner help design our new home in Pacific Palisades. She took the time to chat with me and the customer service with the other people working there was excellent. I inquired about a dining table and they got to me within 24 hours on pricing and availability and remembered my name on the phone without me even mentioning who I was when I called in. I came in to buy a rug and could not get any info on when the colors/sizes I'd been told they had would be replenished. Saleslady was beyond lackadaisical. She was having so much trouble trying to fit the rug I did select into a bag that I gently told her I'd be looking around. When I circled back five minutes later she just handed me the unwrapped rug without a bag!!!! When I asked her if I could try a bag that looked like it might fit sideways she acted like I asked for a another rug for free! this after I had shown her the rug was dirty & wondered outlaid if it dirt would rinse off(she did not respond or seem to care at all). I would have ordered the sizes & colors I asked her if they had any more of not out, or might be getting in if she had cared to show me patterns or shown any interest, but she did not offer any info at all, let alone help. Even when I told her the manager of another local store who knows my taste had recommended Waterleaf because they would have a great selection in bright colors & patterns she did not perk up. Clearly she was trying to drown her sorrows but she drowned the rest of her emotions as well, and her desire to make sales to boot. read more

I am SO grateful for all of the great advice I have received from Suzanne Ascher and Christina Murphy at Waterleaf Interiors! In the first phase of my home remodel, I picked out tiles and fixtures all by myself for two bathrooms. Both were fine, but they were going in divergent design directions. I was eager for some guidance to find a consistent look for the rest of the house. One day I happened to visit the Waterleaf store (which has wonderful beachy decor!) and noticed that they had an interior design department in the back. Even though I live a little far from the store, Suzanne agreed to take me on as a client. I am so glad that we got her involved from the beginning. She helped immensely in the architecture process, suggesting moving some doorways, adding a bay window, changing a bathroom configuration, adding laser cut wood panels in the kitchen (genius!), how to configure the kitchen island, raising a ceiling and so much more! All were great ideas that she thought of quickly. She and Christina also helped with choosing fixtures, flooring and furniture. Our house is looking fantastic!!! read more

Too bad I have to give a star to post here. Ok, so where do I begin with this place. Waterleaf is located in downtown Manhattan Beach a few blocks from where I live. The first time I went in there the saleswoman never once ask if I needed help. I was actually interested in buying a polish nickel bar cart but the service turned me off and I left. Now, I didn't want to jump to conclusions and gave the salesperson the benefit of the doubt, I thought that maybe she was having a bad day. Thus, I visited the place a second time. This time I went to the side of the store where they have all their accessories. I saw a cute little mat for my doorstep and again, no one asked me if I needed help. The salesperson that day was beyond rude. When I asked her the price for the mat she replied in a very condescending voice that it was $100.00. Her demeanor was very standoffish and see looked at me like I provably couldn't afford it. Little did this person know that my husband and I had just purchase our dream home and were looking for a design company to design our ENTIRE 4,600 square foot beach home! I had actually considered waterleaf for the job but after those two experiences I decided against it. I was completely disgusted with this place. I ended up hiring Stacey Vuduris, a Hollywood based interior designer and I absolutely loved all the designs and fabrics she choose for our home. Bottom line: avoid this place! read more

This is a beautiful store with a great and knowledgeable design staff. It has a varied inventory that caters to a beach lifestyle. I have been in there several times and today purchased an outdoor zinc dining table for my new patio. The saleswoman was very helpful and went through catalogues to help me choose the right chairs for that table. Her taste was impeccable and she put together exactly what I wanted.q read more
