They actually have a wine bar here, which boggles my mind because I didn't know WMs even had wine bars. Might be a fun, unique way to meet new people. World Market surprised me in a good way. I walked in thinking it was just a place for a few decor items and instead found a wide range of products. They have a men's section, furniture, snacks, and a lot of unique food items from different places. I was especially surprised to see Garrett Popcorn and a variety of seasonings and treats that you do not always find in regular stores. It feels like a mix of gift shop, furniture store, and international market all in one. The layout makes it easy to browse and discover new things. I will definitely be back. Great haul here yesterday. The clearance section always has some goodies worth buying. As much as I like this place, I did have to wait longer than normal to be called over to the register. There was one cashier working with one customer who talked and talked and talked, not thinking about other people waiting in line. Could this be avoided in the future by adding one back up cashier in the event this happens again? I don't see why not. read more

I love that this location has a wine bar! It's so fun to be able to try a few of their wines before buying. They're always super friendly when pouring and helpful with the pairings. There is a large parking lot infront. This World Market is located next to Costco. While I was browsing, I was greeted by a friendly staff. However, I wasn't looking for anything specific. It kind of fun browsing around. The Home furniture and decor section has very unique hand made items from India or other country. I came to this location to pick up an online order, expecting a quick and easy experience. Unfortunately, it wasn't. Despite the store being completely empty and arriving during a quiet time, I waited over 20 minutes before being acknowledged and assisted. The woman at the register saw me standing there and mentioned someone would assist me, but no one did. The employee at the online orders counter helped a man, then walked right past me without a word. The woman at the register finally came over took all of 5 seconds to grab my bag and have me sign for it. While BOPIS (buy online, pick up in store) is supposed to be a convenient service, this location missed the mark entirely. read more

I have to say, this location has some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced in California. No matter how great the selection of beer and wine might be, it means nothing when the staff is rude, unhelpful, or indifferent to customers. A business is only as good as the people running it, and unfortunately, the service here is dragging the place down. Management seriously needs to step up and make changes--better training, better attitudes, and a customer-first approach. Until then, I can't recommend shopping here. This location has turned me off of the brand. Customer service from the top down is abysmal. I've been to this location a few times a year since it opened because I love the brand but each time I go in, I'm left with a bad taste. The greetings for customers entering feel mandatory (no one looks at you as you enter but they all mutter, "welcome"). There is no one on the floor to help or answer questions. The staff at the front is unhelpful at best. Usually staff at the front greets you with, "that coupon won't work for food" - even if there is no food in your cart. The two times I've ordered for pick up, they have forgotten at least one item, once they forgot a whole bag attached to my order. When I've gone back in to claim the missed items, I am met with contempt from the manager. The manager? She's never had a kind word for anyone that I've seen her interact with. I think I am done with WorldMarket because of this location. Upper management should really secret shop this location multiple times and see what I'm talking about. read more

Store hours online state open at 9am and I arrived at store doors were locked. I called store and employee answered and said I was reading the website wrong, other people reported the same issue. The website clearly states they open at 9 AM in bold Green letters. Store hours are incorrect online. Someone needs to adjust this. What's unique about this location is there is a wine bar inside! Price for a glass is anywhere from $6-9. The cabs I sampled were OK and the Whispering Angel rose was sweet. If you like sweet they also have moscatos in different flavors. Unfortunately I didn't notice any organic wines at the bar. read more

I have always loved Cost Plus for their unique selection of great gifts. This location is like most of them, which is a good thing :) The staff is friendly, the store is clean and the shelves are always fully stocked. They are located in a pretty busy shopping center but you can usually find parking fairly easily. The main thing to watch out for are the other drivers, this is one of those parking lots where people cut thru a lot and just don't pay attention. While the store is open for shopping, I have been ordering online and doing curbside pickup. They even give you a discount just for using curbside pickup and the website is easy to use whether you know exactly what you want or are just browsing around. Plus, there are dedicated parking spots at the door, just call and someone comes right out with your order and they will even put it in your trunk! Boom, that's it your back on your way :) I definitely plan to keep using this service in the future. This has been my main goto for everything from Mother's Day & Birthday gifts to Christmas shopping this year. In addition to "perfect gifts" they also have lots of food and drink items that really round out your pantry. And they are right next door to a Bed Bath & Beyond which also has curbside pickup. Neat place to spend a few hours. Great selection of wine and lots of other household items. I bought some beautiful Crystal wine glasses and some pasta and sauce for dinner. All of my culinary is from World Market, kitchen items, and some furniture. They have the best candles and I have gotten quite a few jewelry pieces from World Market over the years. Their food items are rare and sooo good. They have the best chocolates. This is one of their best stores in the LA area. The store is always clean and styled nicely. I love how everything is organized there are many sections to look at. Always great seasonal selections to choose from - many Christmas items. The staff here are super friendly and helpful. Hate to write this review but I must. Love the store and the vibe. What I don't like: 1) You don't see the screen as they're scanning items so you don't know what the cashier is ringing up or the price. That is important because I got home and looked at my receipt and saw that a jar of tuna rang up $16.99 when it was marked $5.99 on the shelf. 2) They also rang me up for buying 3 of an item when I only bought 2. I called and spoke to a manager and they said I have to come back to the store for them to fix their mistake. Get in my car and sit in traffic for ANOTHER 30 minutes?! I walked into World Market in Hawthorne to replace a basic SodaStream canister, not knowing my life would be forever changed. I was mentally exhausted after a long Costco run next door, prepared to be in and out with my can of CO2 goodness. Inside the store I turned to the left and my heart skipped a beat, my knees instantly became wobbly, and I did a double-take. There was none other than a full wine tasting bar with a number of happy patrons, sipping glasses of wine and chatting away. When I approached the wine bar my ID was immediately checked and the friendly Sara let me know their tasting policy, promotions and asked my preferences in wine. It was hard for me to hide my excitement but I gave Sara my preferences and she poured me some excellent recommendations. I was delighted to see that wines by the glass were available, as well as an impressive stock of bottles for purchase. I ended up buying multiple bottles in addition to the SodaStream canister. Surely I will become a regular customer of this store, their customer service and creative retail acumen have impressed me heartily. read more

Review is for service, not the merchandise (obviously great finds here). I always loved shopping at World Market, but i will stay away from this location. My experience today with the Return bar was bad. I was returning $500 boots and Ana who said was a manager didnt know how to, it was obvious, kept telling me to contact the seller. Return to the seller was already generated with the bar code, which per Ana didnt work. I was worried to be stuck with boots that didnt fit. I asked to try again, or call someone else who knows. She finally pushed some other button ti try and it did work. Very incompetent. You should not worry your customer like that. Just call someone competent. If she is a manager- even more so. When i told her you shouldn't worry a customer like that and its ok to acknowledge you having trouble and call for help, she just showed attitude "okaaay". Apology goes a long way dear. read more
