This Costco used to be located on Skypark Ave. & relocated to a larger warehouse with a bigger gas station on Lomita Blvd. about 10 years ago. Prior to the pandemic, I mostly shopped at the Hawthorne location (refer to Review #50) because it was conveniently off the 405 Fwy. while en route home, & I prefer it for their unique stock & roadshows. Some of my shopping list unique basics include: Kerrygold Pure Irish Butter (sometimes I get lucky when it goes on sale), MìLà Pork Soup Dumplings (surprisingly yummy... standalone or with noods), Heavenly Hunks (convenient bite-size cookie snacks), Kinder Bueno (use these as rewards for the kiddos). Some unique items that are infrequently stocked or when there's roadshows: Dekopan Mandarins (only available in late winter/early spring... it's our family fav!), Inked Bread (especially love the Streusel Cinna' Raisins & Timber Wolf Keto Seeds), Tastelli Drinkable Konjac Jelly (my l'il guy loves this... we usually get 1/2 dz. boxes O_o), Pitaya Organic Tropical Glow Smoothie Blend w/Mango, Pineapple, Spirulina, Ginger, Lime, Turmeric (tasty & satisfying smoothie), Sumo Citrus Cold-Pressed 100% Mandarin Juice (just like the orange but sweeter), Kinder Bueno Hazelnut Cones (just like chocolate bar except it's ice cream), Choolip Squeeze Vita Stick (my cats love these treats!). Some of my favs that were stocked a short period: Qi'a Superfood (best cereal ever!), Sahale Snacks (so addictive... pricey elsewhere since it's no longer stocked here), Herdez Guacamole Salsa (especially on breakfast burritos), Honest Kids (doesn't have added sugar), & marcona almonds (it's the "queen" alright). Prices are slowly creeping up, but it's still a decent value for most groceries & things. I really liked the Delaney Paris 2 piece luggage set; it was sturdy & easy to roll around at the airport. One sad thing is that they're phasing out books in the store, especially since 1/4 of my library came from Costco. ＼(｀0´)／ Parking still sucks... some people are arrogant (taking your space even if you were there first with your turn signal on), reckless (near misses while walking to the store), or careless (leaving shopping carts on the lot instead of the designated cart return spots... Costco could definitely use the Scandinavian method of using a quarter to borrow a cart)... yikes! We have a fav cashier named Fernando... super friendly, sweet guy with awesome hair! Both kids as toddlers recognize him & pointed to him if I'm not on his line; when they were verbal, they would ask to find Mr. Fernando as our cart approaches the registers. It's our thing to look out for & will wait in his line even if it's longer just to say "hi" & chitchat, or cheer for his team. Prior to befriending him, I probably only shop at Costco 2x/monthly. I am so over buying something like oranges and the fruit is dry inside or rots in just a couple days I am over this happening for years I throw out over half of what I but so where is the savings in that? This review is regarding FIGO pet insurance for anyone that is thinking of purchasing. FIND A DIFFERENT PROVIDER. This is the worst experience of my life trying to get an answer from customer service. Every representative has a different story or reason or claim they don't know. There are many pet insurance companies out there but being a loyal Costco customer I thought I couldn't go wrong . Big mistake on my part. This is a third party agreement that has nothing to do with Costco even though they sell through Costco. Watch your wallet and be prepared for weeks of waiting with no communication or updates and denials. One of the best Costco, Clean, organized and you will always get the help you need. They have great selections of almost everything. If you go first thing in the morning or towards late afternoon, you'll find plenty of parking. But I mostly appreciate the manager, John, because he handled an issue with my return professionally. He's got a great calm and polite attitude and I was so impressed. I returned a Brita pitcher which light stopped working after a few months. The front desk lady gave me a hard time since I didn't have the receipt and I wanted to leave because of her attitude and for being loud that I felt embarrassed as I don't usually return things without a receipt. but John handled it in an excellent manner. This has been our go-to Costco for years! We were actually the first ones inside the store and at the food court -- which I absolutely love because I'm "allergic" to crowds lol. I don't like super packed places, so going early is the best! Everyone at this Costco is always so helpful and nice, which is one of the main reasons we keep coming back. With a big selection you'll always find what you need and pleasantly surprised finding something you weren't looking for but wanting. Like all Costcos prices are clear and listed above the item. The staff at this location are friendly and helpful. I needed assistance one time and the man who helped me, personally went to retrieve the item after I couldn't find it myself. Location: In South Torrance between Lomita Blvd. on the north and Skypark Dr. to the south. Parking: Even with a large parking lot, brace yourselves! Parking is a nightmare. With many people waiting with their turn signals on for upcoming spot. Others circle the lot looking for open spots. Best time to go: I have found coming 10 minutes before they open is the ideal time to go. I have found it easier to get a parking spot and the store is not as crowded. Unique: * There is a car wash! You can pay for the service while you get gas. * An outdoor food court with tables to sit and eat. * A specific window to pick up Whole Pizza orders. I had a very disappointing experience at this Costco location today. I arrived around 9:00 AM with my girlfriend hoping to do some quick shopping.When we got to the entrance, we were told we were not allowed to enter because only Executive members can go in at that time. What made the situation frustrating was not just the rule itself, but how it was handled. The staff did not explain the policy clearly and the interaction felt dismissive and unfriendly. As a paying member, I expected a more respectful and helpful explanation instead of being turned away in a way that made us feel unwelcome. I understand that stores have policies, but customer service matters. A simple polite explanation or better signage would have made a big difference. Instead, it left us with a very negative impression and ruined our morning. I hope management at this Costco location pays more attention to how customers are treated at the entrance. I have to give props to this Costco in Torrance, parking is always horribly crowded no matter what weekend you decide to shop. Whats even more impressive is that this Torrance Costco seems to have executive members up the kazoo. Others have mentioned that even during executive shopping hours, this place gets packed. Interestingly other Costco locations arent as busy as this Costco in Torrance. Culver City Costco, Inglewood Costco, Long Beach Costco, Lakewood Costco can't compare and yes I've been to all of them early during executive members hours. I'm not a member for a couple of realms: 1) There isn't one close to me, and 2) there's a Sam's literally around the corner from home. But once in a while, a fam who has a membership tags me along, and one knows how it is: there's always something one needs for the household. It's been a minute since I've been to a Costco, and it is pretty comparable to Sam's. They do have similar items but also different varieties. Price-wise, some are competitive (I was doing a price comparison while shopping) but found a couple of items at Sam's cheaper vs here. Another down side is they don't do scan and go here, BUT! I truly have no complaints! The service was great and it was easy to find everything. I came here to see if they had a water pik, and I left with a couple more things I'm glad to have stumbled across! The Water Pik was fully stocked, and at a great price! I'm glad they had it, so I didn't have to order online! I also ended up grabbing a bag of bagels that were on sale Buy one Get one free! I scored some wild caught shrimp for under $20, and finally, 2 packs of short ribs that were about $25 a piece! Great prices, great value! As a single person, it's hard to use Costco consistently because I have no reason to buy in bulk, and I have no interest in hoarding, or the space to do so if i Wanted to! for that reason I hadn't been to Costco since about 2016! The Baseline: For a Costco Wholesale the store must have organized isles, the prices must be well displayed, the offerings must be exciting, and the parking must work in comparison to the entrance. Layout: This is the largest Costco that i have ever been in and it may contain its own zip code. Well organized and easily accessible. The areas are clean and the staff is friendly, willing to help. Service: I have had several experiences where the Costco staff go out of their way to assist at this location. Selection: The main Costco standards are here and you will see the name brands you love along with all that is Kirkland. The awesome selection is an ode to Capitalism at its finest! The butcher is well stocked, the wine and alcohol area always has fun, new finds. The walk in coolers are easy to access. I also always enjoy the seasonal offerings. Value: Big box store for big box deals for my big box mentality. I always walk out with less money in my pocket when I come to this Costco. I've arrived at opening time to find every parking spot filled on a Saturday morning which is just ridiculous... Service inside is always very good - typically lines move well but on peak times still not enough lanes open. Value is decent but starting to wane a bit. Congratz to the worst Costo's parking lot ever. We all know Costco can get super busy. However, this place step it up to another level. I needed to use the restroom after getting gas so I decided to go inside Costco. Oh boy...the lot was insane. Messy! What an odd parking lot. I exited the gas station then noticed it was a one way. When I exited the gas station, I should have went the other way if I wanted to go in Costco. I thought it was strange how everybody crammed themselves, so I turned to the direction with lesser cars. I had to make a U turn to go back. lol people driving left and right then being stuck. Some people also didn't know how to move. They stayed to wait for a car to come out instead of driving ahead. Like hello? The car ahead was backing out. Just take the spot ahead!!! It caused a line of cars behind my car wth Oh samples day! Yay lol not really? This location needs to rein in their shoppers for safety. Seems too many think their lives are cut short by shopping at this Costco. People pushing their carts like it's a freeway, carts weaving in and out. People speeding in the parking lot. This place is unsafe. Management should be giving out citations or kick people out. I've been hit in the parking lot, people run into my cart or hit me with their carts. People leave their carts in an aisle so no one can get by while they check out products. read more

By far the slowest Costco I have been to regardless of what you are doing here: food court, gas, returns!!!, tire center, being on hold for 10+ minutes. All services have been slow and always either understaffed or just with slow workers. I have not seen another Costco that does such a bad job of moving people as this one. read more

This location is extremely crowded! It is always the hardest thing in the world to find parking. The customer service really is lacking too. Went to return a box of diapers and the girl did not say one word to us or even look at us. I'm glad they are opening earlier though for executive members. Not my favorite Costco to go to, unfortunately, it's the closest around. Parking is abysmal, good luck trying to find parking on a weekend. It's always super crowded here even on weekdays. It's to the point I've seen people parking in fire lanes. At your own risk and I've actually seen cops coming and citing people. My main issue is the staff here, they're not the most welcoming or helpful. Sometimes to the point of being dismissive and rude when you try to get help. Even if you're an executive member, it's still pretty crowded in the morning with the early hours. There's the usual good selection here of everything. Store is kept relatively clean and well organized. Costco is always great value which is why I'll continue to keep the executive, but some other locations are better than this one If you're a whiskey or alcohol, this location rarely gets anything good. On my quest to check out various Costcos, we have been going to this particular location. They even have a car wash! So jealous! Something we do not see in the Bay Area. There's a lot of selection so I finally grabbed one of those packs of Portuguese croissants filled with Guava. It was so tasty. One thing I learned to help the Costco employees have a smooth checkout is to have all the barcodes facing up (while keeping all my items in the cart). Loyal costco enthusiast and executive member. Been going to Costco for rotisserie chicken and hot dogs since the original Price Club. That being said, the Torrance location has it all. Outside of the typical warehouse fare, this location also offers a large gas station (recently added 2 lanes) so the lines aren't crazy anymore. Also, it is one of the few that has 7.99 car wash. The food court is outside, lines can get busy during lunchtime, but they move quickly since it is mostly self serve and just wait for pickup. The tire center offers great service. Had 2 tires replaced (which I bought online) and scheduled to be installed. They also lent me some tools the time I had to change my car battery. FYI Costco sells batteries and recycle the old ones but do not change them. They just added 2 more tire air stations so there is no longer a wait that blocks traffic flow or parking. We utilize the pharmacy for our dog medications. I also use the optometry services and had transition lenses made. All covered by insurance. Returns are quick and easy. No questions asked. Most purchases in store and online in the past 3 years are tracked on your card, receipt not needed. Finally, this location added rapid checkout, where an employee scans your items while you stand in line. By the time you get to the register, there is no need to unload or scan items. Just need to swipe your card and walk through! This Costco has so much to offer, it's almost better than going to Disneyland, but with similar crowds and parking. read more

When would Costco ever NOT be busy? Not tonight when I went. I purposely park down the aisle of the entrance, all the way in the back where it was still hard to find a spot. I was able to catch a family leaving that was second to the back of the lot. As I was walking towards the entrance, a poor woman was walking towards me, stopped, pulled out her keys to "get her car to beep" by unlocking the car. I couldn't hear anything. Poor woman forgot where she parked!!! Costco parking is so bad that you need to pin where you parked your car so the app will tell you where to find it!! Between the pallets and huge shopping carts, it's like playing on the 405 going up and down the aisles. It's actually easier to shop without a cart as long as you aren't picking up a lot of things. While shopping, if you want to examine something you are thinking of buying, where do you park your cart. Holy cow, I actually had to find a structural beam to hide my cart to get out of the way of folks and so that I would find my cart again!! Stopped at the food court, lines are still long. What do people do to pass the time, they check out the things in your cart. Of course they are judging you but twice, two people asked me about items in my cart, asking product questions too. Hey hey hey, I'm not getting sponsorships here!! After 90 mins, I got all the things on my list and took the long walk back to my car. By this time, there were more spots open in the parking lot so I could take my time loading up my car as no one wanted my spot so very far away from the entrance. Ok, bye. read more

TL;DR - I LOVE the 1hr earlier opening for executive members and the wait to get to the gas pump is much shorter now. I was wondering why this costco got an average 3 star rating and realized it's just a lot of the usual complaints you see at many Costco locations -- namely the awful parking situation and long waits at the gas station. There are a lot of poor reviews about the workers there but I've never had a bad experience with them...and I've been coming here for years when it first opened. So I'm leaving this review because of the new 1 hour earlier opening time for executive members. I FREAKING LOVE IT. It opened at 10am for non-executive members and I arrived at 9:10am. The parking lot was about 30-40% full and the number of customers present was much MUCH fewer than usual. No need to dodge other carts or slowly walk behind people because of the massive crowds. Checking out occurred at a record time too. FINALLY the price for an execute membership feels justified. This costco location is also one of the newer ones. They used to have an awful line to get to the gas pump. Fortunately, they expanded the number of pumps. Since then, I have never seen a line of cars go all the way to the stop intersection. I would even say this gas station is the most efficient Costco gas station I have ever used. Very satisfied customer here! read more

I am writing this review as a new Costco member, it was probably my second visit and I happen to lose my cell phone. I was in the middle of running an errand for my boss and I was distracted and I must've dropped my phone. Before getting hysterical, a kind Costco worker by the name of Liz came to my rescue!! not only did she help calm me down, but she walked with me up and down aisles, and around the entire premises of the store, helping me look and backtrack where my phone could possibly be she noticed that I had bags of potatoes in my cart and she said "I'll go double check by the potatoes." I've proceeded to follow her and luckily we were able to find my phone!! I'm so grateful that Liz was there to help me. She was very calm and professional and kind and I just wanted to take a minute to send thanks to her. She is a very sweet woman. I'm just so grateful that she was there in that moment because I probably would've ended up crying had she had not been. The woman who was checking me out her name was Jaylis she to was a good help and put my cart of purchased items to the side while I searched through the store. I have been shopping here for over 30yrs and do not know what I would do without this store! We always buy food in bulk. Egg-whites, Salmon fish patties, Coffee, Quinoa, Fish Sticks, Almond-Milk and Japanese noodles. They have a very large assortment of items. I bought a gaming chair $139 dollars that goes for $299 at other stores. the Cashiers are always so nice and professional. Today I learned that their delivery team doesn't like to work. They first came in with you are gonna have to reschedule. Because they didn't like parking. Then he talks me into using his equipment. Only to tell me later he can't do it. Then because I say it was working before and the guy who put it up had a lot less tools than you. Whoever said not to go to Costco on a Sunday should be applauded. It is chaos in the parking lot and everyone fighting to get those close spots. Relax and take your time, no need to fight! The club itself is huge and has lots of items in stock. It is clean and staff has great customer service. They have a great selection on meats and seafood. Definitely worth buying in bulk so it could last you longer. There is also a huge selection of household products. Make sure to check the app or ad before you shop, items may be on sale or you can receive rebates on select items. During this visit, we went to the tire center to buy a new battery for my car. Our cashier was great and fast. He was able to help us find the correct battery and also gave us $15 back for returning our core battery that was no good. Make sure to ask about this deal because it is great. Overall, you can never go wrong with Costco. I was NOT aware of the dogs presence and out of no where I suddenly felt this sharp forceful CHOMP onto my lower thigh -- his teeth GRIPPING MY LEG and G R O W L I NG and NOT LETTING GO .. I screamed out "he just BIT into me!" This place is always packed. Forget about stopping by just to pick up a slice of pizza. Make sure you come during off hours or you'll be fighting for parking with everyone else. Once you get in though it's great, love the food and car wash and deals on things. This Costco location has 3*Stars. I am giving 3*Stars so as not to change their current score. I am simply sharing information. I was talking with a Costco associate. I asked if it was my imagination, or if the parking situation at this Costco was now harried on a daily basis. They confirmed that it was not my imagination. When this Costco expanded their gas station and reconfigured the approach lanes, it resulted in the elimination of a lot of parking spaces (+/-30 spaces). Before the remodel, it wasn't unusual for the parking to be impacted when the coupon specials were expiring, or in the days leading up to a major holiday. Nowadays, the parking is crazy every day -- to the point where shoppers are regularly parking along the "Do Not Park - Fire Lane". I understand people are people in most places but never experienced such incredibly rude, confrontational and entitled customers than at Costco in Torrance and I'm definitely not the only person that knows this. Even the staff recognizes the situation. I actually feel sorry for the staff at this store. Sad because the staff and store is otherwise great. You basically need to get in and get out, park in the boonies to avert parking rage and avoid the sample stations because that's where many of the confrontations start. read more

It's been a few years. Lately shopping at LV Costco isn't bad. I try different vegan options. Most are good but some need improvement. The shop is clean & employee's service has improved. One thing I would like to see back is vegan cookie dough. Ample parking but gas line is still crazy. I think they have the best gas price though. read more
