I didn't think I would ever review a chain hardware store. I am not a "handy" person and usually wander aimlessly in the garden section after scrolling through too much social media. But we have a home improvement project going on and needed a door. It isn't a door we use often because it's next to the slider and the existing door is always stuck. There was damage to the bottom of the existing door, hence the sticking, so our contractor said we should purchase a door. Well, we went online and picked the wrong door. Did I mention I took woodshop in the 7th grade and barely passed and my husband missed Woodshop and metalshop all together. I just want to say, the fault was ours, we own that. We could have asked our contractor for help, but in our ignorance, didn't think shopping for a door online was difficult. This is why Lowes got 5 stars. They delivered the door, carried it to the backyard, and allowed me to inspect the first door before leaving. If only I knew what I was doing. So when we called them back and said, "We're lame and ordered the wrong door." Lowes said, "OK, it happens. We'll pick up the first door, give you full credit and drop off the correct door" FYI, since the contractor told us which door to buy, we were prepared. This all happened in 24 hours, including the original door being purchased and delivered. Our contractors weren't delayed. No harm, no foul. The delivery guys were the same guys. They were kind and professional. No eye rolls. They would have been entitled to a little annoyance, our pup barked at them from inside the house the whole time. Anyway, it isn't often I have a great experience from a box store. It is usually an acceptable experience to poor. I try not to complain because that is the new normal and those experiences meet expectations. This experience exceeded my expectations. We were braced for the worst because our lack of confidence in our knowledge. Can you imagine our surprise and relief? Thank you Lowes for listening and not judging. Thank you for graciously accepting the wrong door and delivering the correct door so quickly. Thank you for making a stressful project manageable and still on it's timeline.

It took me three attempts to order 3.58 gallon Star Jasmine plants before finally receiving them. Before these three tries, I was able to order the plants without issue. I needed more so I thought buying 3 wouldn't be such a hassle but it was. When I tried to order there were plenty in stock and that my delivery would be by the end of the day. When the end of the day came, it showed a delay and then cancelled a few hours after that without a reason. The next day, I still saw them in stock so I tried to order again and after a few hours it was cancelled again. I contact customer service via chat and the rep says there are none in stock and I point out there are several in stock but he claims my first two orders could not be completed because it showed out of stock in his system. I said I'm seeing they are in stock now, can I order them and he says "Sure...". I ordered them again and again, I received an email saying delayed so I for sure thought it was cancelled. I reach out to customer service via email and tell them I am highly dissatisfied with how my orders keep on getting cancelled when it's showing they are in stock. 32 hours after my same-day order was put it, I received the order plants and now the website says they no longer can be delivered and only purchased in store... I like shopping here but it seems picking up items in-person is your best bet. Ordering same day delivery might end up with your order being cancelled.

I dragged the 30 lbs. of wood to the register and went through the payment process. When I asked if there was a no receipt option, the person working there said, don't worry, it will give you one." I proceeded to throw it away in the trash can as I left. There is no need in most cases to produce a paper receipt. I have an account with HD, give me the electronic option there.

Today I asked a woman in flooring if there was staff to answer a question for a self improvement job. She wanted to know my question so I asked... and yep she was dumb founded and said my guys won't help you but they will install it for you. Wtf is wrong with people's brains?! How can you hire people who are of no help? You'd be better off not hiring at all. So many employees standing around chatting with each other. Lowe's at least have staff that try to help. Actually I stopped coming here two years ago but thought I would check them out for a product I'm looking for.
