I've been coming to this location for years at least 15 - , but recently it seems to have gone down hill. The store is a mess, and there's never enough cashiers. Latley there seems to only be one cashier at any given time. Also I can no longer take the shopping carts outside They put big poles on them like the 99 cent store., which means I cant get as many items in one trip, because I can not carry more than I can hold. Mom is a fan and wanted to check them out since she was looking for some specific rugs. (She mentioned she found some she really liked before and was hoping to score more on this visit.) Walked in and my first thought was, "Meh, I'm prolly gonna end up with nothing from here..." Its not really my kind of store. So while Mom ran around like a kid in a candy store, I paced myself and walked through as many nooks, crannies and corners as I can. It's an interesting store! It's part home goods - part dry goods blended together. The first stop was their clearance area, so I found a couple of bargain buys there. This is the only place to shop for me ! I love the international selection of food ,where you can find delicacies from around the world . the glass wears and home-goods is wonderful eclectic and charming. I love how special the clothing is too. The pillows and rugs and furniture is off the charts . The staff is usually very good,management is great at merchandising and display . I've been to the Pasadena location and found Hello Kitty tote bags, notebooks, plates, etc. It's been a while since I last visited. So... why return? 1. We don't have this store in Hawaii. 2. I had some time and saw that Torrance had a World Market. I thought I'd just run in quickly... 3. There was a lot of Hello Kitty merchandise. World Market is awesome! I asked the hubby to drive us here a couple weekends ago because I wanted to get a couple of Christmas ornaments. They had certain selections that are only 2 for $6. (As of 11/26/2023) One ornament I got was a shiny peace sign (since my family member loves peace signs). They carry so many wonderful imported items widely ranging from food, beverages, home decor, and more! During our recent visit, the hubby filled the shopping cart with items. He got a box of Christmas cards and various themed gift boxes such English crackers in Nutcrackers, little bottles of different hot sauces, hot cocoa/marshmallows/peppermint, a movie night gift box, and others. If you are a fan of certain characters from Sanrio, Disney, or the Peanuts Gang, there is a variety of things like food items, a gumball machines, notebooks, and more. This time of the year is great to see the selection of holiday goodies. Our cashier was top notch and enthusiastic. I had always heard about this place but never had the chance to go. I had been looking for a special glassware for a whiskey Sour that my husband wanted so I gave it a try. As soon as I walked in it was a match made in heaven, this store is so adorable and very dangerous for a person who loves cooking and likes fun trinkets for the home. I went thru every section, the glassware was a hit and found what I needed. The selection is amazing, the quality is great and the prices are reasonable as well. They have stuff from different parts of the world that I appreciated. There was a wine that I found from a small restaurant when we were in Spain and I was blown away. They have a wonderful section full of small baskets that you can make gifts to give away with fun small olives, chocolates and other tasty stuff. They had a great wine selection & furniture area. Regardless I'll be coming back because this store is now my favorite and already have my eye on certain things that I saw already. Ken is ALWAYs courteous, helpful and very knowledgeable about the products as well as the World Market system (which by the way is a bit slow and antiquated). Bottom line, excellent customer service. The last time I was in a world market was probably more than 10 years ago. In my mind it was a place for home decor, so I came in looking for votive candle holders. I didn't find any, but I was pleasantly surprised to find so many interesting snacks, including my #1 favorite chips (zapps voodoo kettle chips), which are hard to find anywhere other than the east coast or the internet. Also, terrys chocolate orange which I thought was only available at Christmas. Also, honeycomb and orange flavored Kit Kats. It was amazing. I kind of wish I hadn't made this discovery, because now I foresee myself coming here frequently for treats. There are nice looking home and kitchen things too. read more

A Karen a day keeps the customer away. Just encountered the rudest treatment by a cashier for the first time here, although I love shopping here. The cashier was sarcastic from the get-go, really showed how unhappy of a person she is or forgot to take her meds. When I asked an innocuous question, she completely ignored me. God forbid if she's a manager, this store is in trouble. This store deserves 4 stars as the merch is interesting, and I love the most realistic-looking flowers here, as well as, the unique kitchenware, dishes, home decor, etc. Most recently, I re-discovered the bath accessories. The food items from all over the world are also a must check out and great to add to gift bags. The prices run the gamut from reasonable to overpriced, but the rare clearance items are a decent deal. I also like to peruse the shawls and jewelry when i have time. Post Christmas sales are fun too. I love World Market in Redondo Beach and shop there all the time. Most of the staff there are friendly, helpful, and engaging. However, today I had Kassandra as my cashier. She was not friendly. She did not greet me when I walked to the counter, she did not even invite me to the counter. I just basically walked up because she was just standing there checking her nails, she was not at all welcoming and acted like she had an attitude because I disturbed her expecting her to do her job. She completed my transaction, then laid my receipt on the counter and then called the next customer up to the station. No "thank you for shopping here". No "have a nice evening". Nothing. I don't know if it was just me or if that is her attitude in general, but I do not appreciate it and I made sure that the manager was made aware. The best World Market in Los Angeles County. The staff here are top-notch. They go out of their way to help you - with whatever you need. They will help you load items into your car, get stuff down off the high shelf, bring you a shopping cart, go in the back and look for merchandise, order merchandise from another store/region and have it shipped here. Just OUTSTANDING!! I highly recommend World Market for not only their customer service, but the quality of their merchandise as well. All of my culinary is from World Market, kitchen items, and some furniture. They have cards, skincare, the best candles and I have gotten quite a few unique jewelry pieces from World Market over the years. Love the food variety, many diverse options from around the world. The Torrance store is well kept, always decorated appropriately and the store is bright and welcoming. I love how everything is organized there is a lot of merchandise to choose from. Not picked over. Always great seasonal selections to choose from. Reserve time to just browse. Parking is no problem. They also stand by their merchandise. If you have any problems, they will happily refund your money or offer to replace it. I have never had a problem with World Market. have been here a handful of times but mostly during their golden unicorn event around thanksgiving. that was really fun to do and looking forward to doing that again next year. their selection seems pretty good from what i've seen so far and no complaints about service either. parking lot is also easy to navigate and location is a plus for me. it is a bit pricey--i've gotten some accessories like a scarf and jewelry so far. i think i need to visit a few more times to give that last star but definitely becoming a regular at this point. read more

Due to the pandemic, this store is offering online ordering and curbside pickup (which I love). My order was ready for pickup actually within an hour. However since there were a few items not available I decided to pickup in store next day. The store opened at 11:00 am and I arrived five minutes later. This was one of the most pleasant social distance shopping experience I've had. Pleasant staff and very clean, organized store. They have an associate available just to handle online orders. I was able to browse, get a few additional items and my online order friendly and swift. One thing the pandemic has caused is a paradigm shift in most retail businesses that is humbling. read more

the store is great but today my experience was not fun. i wish i had said something earlier but while i was trying to get rung up there was a clearly distressed cashier calling for help and she was not getting the help as the line was stacking up. when the person finally came she was talking down on the cashier, i think i over heard her name was gene im not sure , and tried to make her look bad and basically insulted the cashier. i should've said something but she had left to finally help. i saw the cashier ask for help multiple times and this employee instead of saying i'm sorry was super condescending and mean. read more

We needed to buy a compact yet comfortable chair for the office. Always a fan of World Market, we made this local one our 2nd stop. The store has everything, seasonal knick knacks, all sorts of snacks, furniture, food and decor. We happened upon a chair that was discontinued in the color I wanted (Megan Swivel Chair) - which also didn't fit in the car. The person who helped us, Jeremy was the real MVP... he told us about their partnership with Lugg, how to get a discount and we were able to get the chair delivered to our place within an hour and a half! Five stars for Jean who provided excellent customer service. I recently made a purchase online to pick up in store. After picking up my order, I went home later to realize that 2 items were missing. Not a problem if it wasn't available, but I was still charged for them. I called next day to let them know what happened but given they were busy, they were going to take my info and get back to me later. Jean called me back, apologizing for the wait and addressed my concerns with a few possible solutions. I would go back for the items if they were still available but didn't mind just getting a refund either. Because the inventory was showing in stock, Jean wanted to look around and let me know if they were available or not. She found one of the items and she'd continue keeping an eye out for the other. I really appreciate that despite the busy holiday season, Jean took the time to search for the items instead of telling me they weren't available and just giving the refund. I understand that online inventories can sometimes be inaccurate so it wasn't a huge deal if I couldn't get them. She was so genuinely helpful and kind and apologetic, although she didn't need to be! I've worked in retail so I really try to be a good customer in return because I know how difficult it can be sometimes. I've always enjoy going to this location. It is not a large CPWM but it is well stocked and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Parking on the large lot is a breeze. Have never had a problem finding a place to park. Slight criticism on THIS visit only (not enough to lower score) is that I purchased an outdoor table (that came in a box) that weighed about 60 pounds. We were given the item on a cart but no one offered to help us load it into our vehicle. We didn't ask for assistance but common sense tells me it should have been offered. Fortunately I had help with me otherwise I never could have done it myself. Other than that we purchased several other items at the same time which were too big for our vehicle. The store held the items for pickup later the same day. When we arrived they were easy to pick up, no waiting, and we were on out way. read more

My kids love it there too! So tonight one of my kids asked me to go there for her birthday to see if see if all the Gift cards were found for the November competition. We went in, noticed that they were all found, so we decided to look around.... just looking. When my daughter said that one of the customer support representatives came by us and was staring at us oddly. I noticed that she was pretending to fix things, while looking at us through the shelves. As much as I spend in this store, and also being in the same industry, I would never treat people that way. I enjoy shopping here. They are known for selling unique items. My routine is to head to the left side of the store where the jewelry is located first. They have great stuff, which I would describe as Bohemian. Then I head towards the back of the store where the food is. They sell a unique selection of foods from all parts of the world that makes it interesting. Great selection of candy for certain. Finally, I walk through their wine section. Again, an interesting selection of wines, and a wide variety. Since I enjoy a good sangria, I purchase the red wine sangria from Spain. The store is clean, and the employees are nice. By the way, they have complimentary tea and coffee samples. It's dispensed from a carafe, so customers can help themselves. read more

Especially when you snag the last one. - 2 stars because of the service I received from Eliana. All other employees have always been helpful and friendly, including my experiences from other World Market stores. I was surprised to encounter someone who was so rude and unfriendly in one of my favorite stores. Curiosity got me so I searched up her name in the reviews and found that other customers have complained about her condescending tone and rudeness too. I guess it wasn't just me. I've never had an employee do the elevator scan on me... twice. Somehow me asking about a coupon made her scan my body from head to toe twice. I even looked down at my outfit to see if I had guacamole on me or something. Not sure why she seemed so annoyed with me asking about the price of an item and a coupon I received.
