They hire young girls that are rude and don't know what they're doing…read more 7/7/26 around 10a.m., I made a complaint to the floor manager Claudia, about a young female worker that was behind the customer service register. I politely asked her if I can purchase one squishy they were guarding behind the counter. I was only pointing at which one and as I was leaning in to point, she rudely snapped and told me to "BACK OFF! "BACK UP!" Apparently I was too near the products that she was guarding behind the register. There was literally a gate/door that blocks the entire shelf, which I wouldn't be able to touch anyway. I was taken aback by it and startled. I found that to be completely rude, out of line, and very unnecessary. She thought I was trying to snatch them? I am a regular paying customer here. I don't know what kind of customers this store gets but I buy here all the time with no issues. The squishy products I know are popular with buyers, but I am not there to steal. When I was cashing out at a kiosk, no one came to help. The same rude female worker stood at the back and didn't say anything either. She was with another girl and they stood there gossiping and chit chatting and just both looked at me and turned around without saying anything. I spoke to the manager Claudia and as I was trying to speak, she was talking over me and I couldn't really get my point across. She was not a good listener. She was trying to rush me and get me off her back. The young workers that get hired here are incompetent, uneducated, and just lack customer service skills. Just young kids trying to collect minimal paycheck with minimal training. My suggestion in the future is proper training and how to politely speak with customers in a friendly manner. Just overall, manners in general, which their parents probably never taught. Because of this poor customer experience, now I am uncomfortable and not willing to step foot back into this business.

And if you haven't heard of them, they're a specialty discount gift shop chain that prices most of its products between $1.00 - $5.00, with some exceptional finds $5+. I've seen this store off the 405 Fwy. (Hawthorne location) due to the brilliant blue name signage, but have never been to one until one of the moms from my son's Cantonese school mentioned there's a cute graphic tee that's she must get: "You're All That & Dim Sum!" at the Rolling Hills store (refer to Review #923). Since that 1st visit 2 years ago, I've been infrequently visiting the discount store, especially around the holidays. They have awesome stocking stuffers! Their tees are only $5.55 ea., & the fabric is quite durable. It's been 2 years & both tees (You're All That & Dim Sum! & Born To Game Forced To Work) are still in excellent condition... color is still dark without fading, no pilling, comfy fabric. There's a couple of current tees that my son thought would be awesome gifts for his cousins: "Somedays You Feel Like You're Surrounded By Idiots Other Days You Realize It's Not Just Somedays" & "My Alone Time Is For Everyone's Safety" (older thinks he knows best & younger likes his space... LMAO); while my nephew & his wife has a sense of humor, they're more likely to be pissed off at me. Then he thought there were 2 that perfectly suits his personality: "To Save Time Let's Just Assume I Know Everything" & "You Are Witnessing Greatness"; to which I reply you're just asking to be beat up. Yeesh! O_o I got some candy bags at Sugar Rush, but you can opt for their mix & match bins where you can get 10 pieces for $1.50 or 15¢ ea. There's a huge Haribo gummies section at $1.50/bag, but you can get similar ones though less flavor options at the Dollar Tree for $1.25. The bargain bins offers knickknacks between $1 - $4, & found some cutesy stocking stuffers for the LOs. While the Torrance location is new, it's not as easy to navigate like the Rolling Hills location. I seem to have this issue with all stores (Dollar Tree, Grocery Outlet, Target, Marshalls, etc.)... LOL... I get used to the layout, & go to a different location & get turned around trying to find things. And holiday shopping is a little stressful for me; I like to get in & out as quickly as possible, Customer service is friendly & helpful... different staff approached me at various sections asking if I need assistance. Considering how jammed packed the parking lot was & heavy store traffic, I only had to wait for 1 customer before it was my turn to use the kiosk to scan my purchases. Is this the sign of the times? No register/cashier, only self-service? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I usually bring my own bags, so I'm not sure if they charge for plastic bags like grocery stores or you're required to purchase reusable totes. Parking is plentiful except during the holidays when it's jammed packed the week before, & slightly after Christmas. Five Below is a great alternative for the bargain hunter! And now that the holidays are here... check 'em out for gift giving ideas.

It was difficult to decide which color to get, but I was glad to have found it. There were some All Clad utensils and I picked up a few new ones. Lots of pots and pans and other kitchen items. Huge selection of bedding and bath items too. Whatever you need, you're likely to find it at this location. Parking can be challenging because they share a lot with Home Depot and In and Out.

They are the flagship chain of TJX Companies; strangely, they operate as sister stores with Marshalls, which I do frequent, & both chains generally stock similar items (men's, women's, & children's apparel, shoes, & accessories; bath & beauty products; jewelry & other accessories; housewares, kitchen & home products) of those found at major department store except theirs is generally discounted. I don't believe the Rolling Hills Estates location is a higher volume store; those store may have a high-end designer department called The Runway. And it's also unexpected to find a discount department store in the affluent hills. During this school year (2023 - 2024), my son's Cantonese class has doubled the students so I've been hanging out with other parents shootin' the breeze, takin' a coffee/tea break, walking (to get some exercise in), & window shopping (sometimes actually buying stuff). The store opens pretty early, at 9:30 AM, for a Saturday morning so we usually have it pretty much to ourselves when we're browsing here. Their inventory is comparable to Marshalls, & I've gotten some great deals. What's impressive about this location is their luxury inventory... some unexpected finds include: Mackage (I knew it was a thing but haven't heard of them & needed to look them up; they're a Canadian prestigious luxury outwear clothing brand), Fendi, TOTEME (Stockholm-based label exploring the appeal of the modern uniform with meticulous craftsmanship, methodic repetition, & distinct design cues). They even carry one of my fav brands: Life is Good; an American apparel & accessories lifestyle brand known for its optimistic t-shirts that often feature Jake, a smiling stick figure. I love their pjs... so comfy & cozy. The store is organized & well-stocked, probably because we're here first thing in the morning. Can't imagine what it would be like mid-day since there's only a skeleton crew in the mornings, I'm sure they'll increase the staff during the busier shopping hours. My friend found a couple pairs of designed shades in the locked display case, & it took awhile to find someone, then another staff member to open the case. While she was mulling over which to purchase, both were great deals, I/she felt rushed into making a decision. And for security purposes (understandably), she couldn't hold onto them & he brought her glasses to the cashier even though the registers are the next row over. The staff is friendly & welcoming on our Saturday mornings, & any purchases are processed quickly. The customer service is great there I had a few questions about several items and they walked me over to where I'd be able to find them. Very helpful and kind I appreciated that. As far as the lines they a few people in line but you didn't have to wait so long they had all the cashiers open so it had a great flow. Over all experience here was great, the shopping area has lots of parking so that's not a problem to find a spot. Can't wait to be back!

This is a hidden gem location…read more It is small in size, so the inventory is limited based on store size and is not a "Greatland" However, if you come here, due to the limitations, it's not crowded and is the perfect location to conduct your returns without long lines to wait in. Also, if you can pick up items here ordering online, this is an easy spot. The staff was friendly and parking was easy. The only downside is that it's not robust in scope of inventory for in store retail shopping compared to most Target stores

Y'all, when I tell you this Target is a bit of a teaser…read more.. It's like a miniature version of the big store with an oversized Target logo. From the outside, you expect the full Target experience, but once you get inside, you quickly realize it's more like a boutique version. That said, it's very clean, well organized, and easy to navigate. If you only need to grab a few essentials, it's perfect. Just don't come expecting the wide selection you'd find at a traditional Target, or you may leave wishing there was just a little more.

I visited the usual departments: shoes, accessories, personal care, and seasonal items. I didn't find any Easter clearance items, but I didn't see LA Dodgers caps... hmmm... tempting, but I didn't get any. The Hello Kitty items were calling, but I escaped quickly! I also like to look at the red tag items... they have marked down prices. There was nothing I really needed... thank goodness! We'll probably be back!

Being the Hello Kitty fan that I am, I can definitely appreciate the larger space that offers more selection of goodies. They've got storage containers, totes, plushies, keychains and blind boxes. Aside from Hello Kitty, they've got plenty of other pop culture merch featuring Super Mario, BT21, Disney and more. Make sure to sign up for Miniso Rewards to get some extra perks too!

I attribute it to this being a super busy and popular mall and this location being strangely narrow and smaller, with a bottleneck in the middle. Because of the size, there's a bit more of a limited of selection. Instead of a rack and a display shelf like other locations, there's only a rack for Chiikawa goods, but it is what it is. Small section of Halloween goods, much smaller selection of skincare, Sanrio goods, etc. Again, smaller store means less variety and less goods, but the store does what it needs to if you're trying to buy something you can find at all the other locations or you need to grab a gift in a pinch and want to build your Miniso points. But this mall has so many blind box slop shops and actual good anime licensed merch stores, so this Miniso just pales in comparison price-wise. It's a busy store that gets crowded. Workers were chatting amongst themselves about Chiikawa and anime so at least they're not larpers, hopefully.
