I have never been this disappointed in Target, a store I've long chosen over Walmart, but that loyalty is officially on life support. Over Christmas, I purchased several $100 gift cards at the 2130 Pacific Coast Hwy location, totaling about $500, plus activation fees. Turns out every single card had been tampered with. None of the recipients could use them. Let that sink in: Target sold me compromised gift cards and then completely washed their hands of the problem. Target, the retailer who sold me the cards, takes zero responsibility. That's their official stance. No ownership. No accountability. No concern. Way to stand behind your product. When I called the store, I was told I had to come back to that exact location and speak with "Asset Protection." This store is out of my way, but I went anyway, because I foolishly thought someone there might actually help. Instead, I got Osvaldo, who offered this brilliant insight: "Target doesn't take responsibility. Call the number on the back of the card, good luck." That was it. That was the help. I went out of my way for that? I asked a few follow-up questions, none of which he could answer. The entire interaction was awkward, pointless, and a complete waste of my time. I also called Target's theft hotline, only to get the exact same script. No solutions. No escalation. No empathy. Just pass-the-buck customer service at its finest. So now I'm out hundreds of dollars, hours of my time, and any remaining goodwill I had toward Target. I'm left frustrated, angry, and honestly shocked at how poorly this was handled. This is a hidden gem location. It is small in size, so the inventory is limited based on store size and is not a "Greatland" However, if you come here, due to the limitations, it's not crowded and is the perfect location to conduct your returns without long lines to wait in. Also, if you can pick up items here ordering online, this is an easy spot. The staff was friendly and parking was easy. The only downside is that it's not robust in scope of inventory for in store retail shopping compared to most Target stores read more

Review #836 2025-008 I didn't shop at Target until I moved to the South Bay in the late 1990s; my 1st visit was at the Gardena location. I love my regular Target is in Torrance, next to Del Amo Fashion Center, & the worst one I've been to was the Carson store that's next to IKEA (refer to Review #s: 34 & 97). I'm happy for this location because I infrequently shop & dine around this area. This spot has been sitting empty for years after a series of failed supermarket attempts with Buy Low Market as the last tenant. I'm fairly certain this Target is here to stay. This store feels smaller than my go-to, & the layout takes some getting use to. I came in to buy a couple of gift cards, but took some time to walk the perimeter. I saw some cute themed clothing: Eevee Pokémon mint color sweatshirt (for kids; I would get it if there's adult sizing), Hello Kitty tee "Do What Makes Your Heart Shine" (too bad my daughter is now wearing juniors or small in women's), Pikachu baseball pjs (gotta "catch" this for my son's next birthday). It's barely after new year, & already seasonal Valentine's items are taking up an aisle. The store is new, or maybe it's the morning... shelves were well-stocked & organized. After a quick 10-min. walk with some snaps, I grabbed 2 birthday-themed gift cards for checkout. It was just past 9:00 AM, I wouldn't expect the store to be busy & I guess the cashier felt the same way. She was on her smartphone but immediately put it away when I walked up. I wanted to use my gift card to pay for these 2 cards but that's not allowed. (+_+) I'm still spending it here to give a gift to 2 recipients (customers) to shop here. Aaaugh! I'm assuming Lomita should have my typical shopping list items when I need to shop here. "Expect More, Pay Less" but maybe a little less expectations here because this Target is a smidgen smaller. read more

Purchased expired gallon of milk. This store is close to my house but because they do not carry most everything I purchase at a full size Target, I don't shop here. When this store first opened I thought it would be convenient. Check the dates on grocery store items. Pet food is limited, still have to go to a full size Target for petfood and snack items. For me, personally, this target is the same as no Target in my area. Cannot comment on staff, self check used. 3 star review because I based on inventory. May be great for someone else. Had nothing I needed more than twice. read more

The good: I got Valentine's day crafts here and sale cosmetic items (chapstick and shower steamers). They had cute seasonal items and I enjoyed perusing their discount bin section in the front where there are cheap items for $1-5. There was plenty of parking. They have a large self checkout area. The bad: This is a very small Target similar to the one in Rolling Hills area by Peninsula HS. They're both on the small side and have fewer toys, clothes, and shoes. The interesting: The Starbucks was on the left of the store rather than the right (where it often is in other Targets). I don't see their mascot dog, Bullseye, featured as much as I used to. read more

We are all used to the big box store Targets. This newly opened location is the smaller format neighborhood store. But it has all of the basics, and then some. The staff appear to be mostly new hires. (They're still exhibiting the behaviors they acquired in training.) They were all very helpful. The building underwent major renovation to meet Target's requirements, so it is like new. The property management company also revamped the shopping center's parking lot surface and lot lighting, as well. I do not live in Lomita; I live in an adjacent city. I travel along the PCH corridor regularly. This is the nicest addition to retail in this area in a long time. read more

So happy to have a Target close to home just a few minutes away, it's great but dangerous at the same time ha.. I recently went to return something that was gifted to me and didn't have a receipt and they didn't ask any questions and was able to show my ID and I got store credit. Appreciated this cause some stores give you such a hard time for small things like this. They were nice and was able to browse around. It is a smaller Target but has the essentials you would pick up. The clothing selection is small but I get it, they have essentials. The pantry stuff has a good selection as well as their frozen area. It's very vibrant and love the feel of it. There is tons of parking as well so that's not a problem. Their bathrooms are very clean as well. Love that we have one so close cause I would usually have to go to the one 12 min from me so welcome to the neighborhood. read more

I chose 3 stars because the toilet needed to be scrubbed and ran out of toilet paper. I despise nasty restrooms!!! I alerted a sales associate (who was understanding and responsive) about the toilet dilemma. Otherwise, the main shopping area was orderly and neat. I found what I needed. This Target is where Albertsons used to be before it closed and became something else that then became something else. I've lost track. I needed just three items to make sandwiches so I decided to walk here across the parking lot after my Zumba class It's new and it's sparkly clean. I love that the staff is still young and happy. They're not jaded yet. My friend said it's smaller than most Targets and I can understand why but I didn't have time to roam around. I found the Kings Hawaiian bread after a nice employee directed me in the right direction. It's not in the bread aisle btw. I head to the checkout with my three items and the self checkout is closed and there is only one cashier with a huge line. This is where the one star is docked. No one bothered to open the self check out of open another register. Luckily the cashier let us know we can check out at guest services. No one moved in the line so I headed over. The girl at guest services was super nice and I was able to check out in less than five minutes. I would return if I'm in the area but I hope they open the self check out if they see a lot of customers read more

This seems to be your basic target but slightly smaller than the normal big targets but they seem to have everything from food clothes toys some TVs and electronics. They even have a Starbucks everything is new and clean. The staff seems really nice. This is a really cool location for me because it's close to my house. I would definitely be shopping here again for my needs at target can supply. As always, target has really good deals and prices on things. read more

Don't even have a sign stating no pets, and I've came in here with my dog 5 times already nobody said nothing but the super tiny security guard saying they don't allow pets but he's a liar bc I saw a lady walk in with a little dog on a leash. I LOVE this target. It's very small but has all the essential items. Almost every single employee is nice and welcoming. The store is always spotless and I actually appreciate the self check out. I literally can't recall a time I've ever had to stand in a line for more than 30 seconds. I'm in and out in minutes. read more

This store is made with such a deep dip to enter parking lot. My brand new cars bumper got scraped getting out of the driveway when leaving the exit closest to main door. Why build a brand new store and not fix your parking exist driveway so peoples cars don't get damaged. Shame, target fix your exist, never seen such a high slope down from any parking lot exit. Our Hisense 55" stopped working so we came in to purchase a 65" Samsung TV. Unfortunately it was a returned item. Had scratches and scuff marks on the back plus finger prints on the screen. Returned electronics should not for any reason be sold as New or should not be sold in stores at all specially at Retail cost. My 1st impression was, some jackass replaced this busted old TV with a New one and returned it back to the store. I'm surprised the store doesn't have quality control. Customer service was great though No complaints on that department everyone was very helpful. read more

If the sign says "Buy 3-Get 1 Free", I as a consumer expect to be able to "Buy 3. & Get 1 Free. However, I was charged for all 4. This store is not for seniors without internet. We saw one price posted, we were told we could not get that price because we are not in some type of online circle, even tho we have a Target credit card. "Buy 3-get 1 free" is misleading information when it is not "TRUE" unless you are in some type of top secret circle. Tricks are for kids. Deception is the type of foolishness that drove SEARS and KMART out of business. It's sad to see Target heading down that slippery slope. Photos attached. read more

Visited around 11am on a Friday. Passed 5 employees and everyone avoided eye contact and did not offer any help. They do not carry and children's medicine so that makes no sense. Lastly they had no cashiers and self checkout only. So if you want to pay cash you are SOL. read more

This location unfortunately has zero customer service. You would think management would be on top of it and be a bit welcoming, but they seem more complacent than the employees. I recently had to revisit the store to get a refund for an item I did not purchase -- was greeted with attitude, then had to wait for the security to double check the cameras that I was not lying (mind you this was a $10 item, on a $350+ purchase receipt), then was refused to have the credit go back on my Target card and had to get an in-store merch card instead after asking for a regular refund -- all for something that was their fault, without a single apology. I get that this makes me sound slightly entitled, but the part that upset me the most was the frowning faces and the nasty attitude. read more

My CVS transferred to this new target, and I am well pleased with the customer service. The pharmacy did well in taking care of my prescriptions and even helped me on adding and managing my family members on my app. They teach me how to make it easy for me to pick up my prescriptions. They are approachable and calm and jolly too. I hope they stay longer in this store. I was well taken care and feel important as their customer. Hello - I ordered drive up yesterday and I would never recommend it at this location. I picked 2 impossible ground packets and when I received them, they were gray and had slits so big in them. Now I know when you're having someone else pick the food out, there is inherent risk but how could you not notice that the color was gray and there were huge slits in both of them. I don't know about the inside of the store but I think i'll pass. Train your employees better. read more

this is my second time shopping at this target and it will be my last I went on the first day of opening. I understand it was the first day so I expected it to be busy when I walked in. There were several associates standing by the front door, not one of them greeted me, they were all talking to each other I gave them the benefit of the doubt and I came back to Shop again. The cashiers were very rude and unhelpful. One cashier had a long line while another cashier stood there with her line opened but did not call a single customer over just stood there. They have very poor customer service skills. I will be calling corporate. it does not feel like a welcoming environment.
