This review is based on cleanliness, and organization. It is a smaller branch. They usually have what I'm looking for, however they need to stock more inventory. They're either short on items, or not enough. They only have a couple of selections for their items. Overall I haven't had any other major complaints at this location based on service. They are usually friendly. My only concern is that they need more staff here. The cashier is usually wandering around or nowhere to be found. Sometimes no one is at the front minding the store, and you're there standing in line waiting for them to come out of the woodwork. There's always only 1 cashier and MAYBE one person on the floor stocking up.

Clean well organized store with a great discount section that prevents food waste. Really friendly, quick service and wide selection of items for various household and stationary needs.

i've been to this daiso only two times but both have been pretty good experiences. the last time i came i bought two little piggy banks that were less than $4 each! there's tons of affordable items in daiso from stationary stuff to cooking supplies. i mainly came here to see if they had any miffy things in stock but there weren't any. they did have some good sanrio and bt21 items. this daiso is located in a pretty spacious plaza so there is tons of parking around. the inside is big and as any other daiso store. i'd say most of the items won't exceed over $10 which is really good for the quality. the customer service was good, i was welcomed when i came inside the store. there's not a lot of people usually. it's very clean inside the stores and everything is stocked up

Daiso is the Japanese "Dollar Tree / 99 Cent Only Store" equivalent but with much higher quality items and unique inventory. You'll often find great gift items with low costs and high perceived value here. It's a great place to shop. In Japan, there's Daiso's there, so in fact if you visited Japan and were obligated to bring back souvenir gifts to friends and family, you might be wise to not buy them anything in Japan and then when you come back, just shop here and fulfill your social obligations conveniently here :) ...it's basically the same stuff from Japan, imported here to America anyway.

Items purchase at Daiso: binder (background), hedgehog decoration tape, uniball jetstream and index stickers.

Daiso is the place where you go in wanting one thing, and then go home with 10-20 things. It happens all the time. I have been coming to marukai (now called Daiso) for years now. You can find the cutest school supplies, kitchen, bed and bath and gift supplies. Its all $1.50 (some items will be more). The store itself is very clean and well stocked, you can easily find things that you need. I usually go here for school supplies like highlighters, notebooks, pens, pencils and post it notes although every now and then i find cute stationary. I also get plates and cups, stuff for the kitchen, and gift supplies (cards, gift bags, and wrapping paper). They also The cashiers are very nice. However, They do charge 20 cents a bag so please bring your own. Overall, i highly encourage everyone to come here at least once, I guarentee there is something here that you need and its very affordable.

Most items are $1.50 each! Daiso is like a 99 Cents Only Store or a Dollar Tree... except that this store has merchandise from Japan! I like these inexpensive shops. I usually can find something cute (like hair accessories, stationary, socks, etc.) for my nieces and something useful like household goods for my mom and sisters back home in Hawaii. The shelves here are well stocked as compared with the Koreatown location. This Torrance location also seems to be tidier and have wider aisles. There was only one cashier, but she was efficient and friendly! I liked the free parking and quality Japanese goods! I sure am looking forward to returning! Note: remember to bring your own shopping bag or purchase one there!

Artificial grass from Daiso. 10 out of 10!

I bought these artificial grass patches at Daiso. It came up to $20 to fill the nook which could be slightly expensive for a litterbox mat, but it is totally worth it. Cats even use it for scratch board sometimes but it's very sturdy so I don't need to worry. It holds the litter 98% so there is very little crumb on the outside floor.

I remember this location from back in the day was a movie theatre and then in the most recent years, a LA Fitness. I used to go to the gym here often and so it felt a little nostalgic walking in remembering when the gym got renovated. Now at Last Chance, it's been transformed into more of a giant warehouse of random things. Gone is the fresh paint and shiny gym mirrors and instead it's replaced with tables filled with random stuff. It is more like a giant garage sale and the whole place had a noticeable odor. The overall atmosphere also felt a bit uncomfortable for me personally due to the security presence. This spot wasn't the right fit for me, but for others they may have a different experience.

Review #877 2025-050…read more The Last Chance Store is a discount retailer that sells overstocked, returned, & discontinued merchandise from major retailers in bulk at deep discounts. If you enjoy spending time treasure-hunting to find bargains or the potential for designer/brand names, then this is the place to be. They acquire truckloads of goods from major retailers, including overstock, returns, & discontinued items, which may be opened, missing parts, &/or broken. You buy at your own risk because all sales are final, no exchanges or returns. Due to the ever changing inventory, each week is a unique opportunity to find deals with the best selections on Fridays... home goods, school supplies, electronics, clothing, books, etc. It's first-come, first-serve, & no holds bar in snagging that treasure. There's no rhyme or reason in the organization (it's severely lacking), so what you find one day in the bins may be totally different on the next (week) visit. Closed on Thursdays to restock, the items are supposedly all 1 price based on the shopping day with Friday being the most expensive, & Wednesday as the least expensive because it's the last day from the previous Thursday's inventory. Prices have gone up since opening 3 years ago except for Wednesday; starting at $10 (Saturday), $7, $5, $3, $2, $1 (Wednesday). 2025 Prices: Friday: $12 Saturday: $10 Sunday: $8 Monday: $6 Tuesday: $4 Wednesday: $1 I've been here a couple of times towards the end of the sales, & not everything is sold according to the sale day (e.g. Pokémon trading cards were stocked in the "VIP Section" were priced $10 instead of $1 on Wednesday). Items along the store's perimeter are also priced differently & usually higher than Friday's no matter the day of week. I've purchased some school supplies, hand soap, & other home essentials for $1 & $2. My husband has found name brand protein & granola bars, though I would be wary of edible items since it's unknown how they were stored. Luckily, my Wednesday visits weren't crazy crowded like the early days. Is the hype/hysteria over for bargain hunting? IDK ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ There's no customer service on the floor during my visits, other than a cashier by the exit. Can't say she was friendly, just rang up my items & handed me the receipt. I don't recall if there are shopping bags for purchase if you forgot to bring your own. It's not my thing. I may stop by every now & then, but I don't always leave with a purchase. Last Chance Store is aptly named for the treasure-hunting lovers... good luck!

Household goods, kitchenware, arts and crafts, school supplies, party supplies, hardware supplies, tools, food and snacks, cleaning products, etc. Although they have tons of items, there's a few things they need to correct here. Items that are not tagged can be tricky. The cashier can charge you at any price on the spot and you wouldn't know unless you ask. What looks like a dollar can be more. Inflation and tariffs are definitely hurting the pocket. You also can't go back inside once you've paid. If you bought something already and checked out, you can't go back inside unless you leave your items up front. Maybe they've had issues with theft before or miscommunications with items. The cashier was friendly however, she was nice about it. Just strange practices but I get it, it's a small business and people probably steal here. EDIT: Came back here again shortly after. Cashier Julie was not nice and needs to be more friendly. Different cashier than the first one. She's a F!l!p!no lady. Kind of snooty and arrogant. Didn't smile nor said hello. When I spoke to her in Tagalog, she acted like she didn't hear me and responded back in English. The other guys that stock here are nice however. We needed an empty box to put all our stuff in but he took it from us to bring it up to the front before we can use it. This small store is a bit strict.

Review #866 2025-038…read more I first discovered Grocery Outlet about a decade ago in Fresno, & was attracted to the unusual finds at a "grocery store," such as an Olaf bike helmet, Curious George: Discovery Beach Game, etc. The first S. Bay store opened 6 years ago in Redondo Beach, just before COVID-19; it's a bit out of way to shop there. And about a year ago, they took over the former Big Lots location in Lomita. What is Grocery Outlet? They're a discount grocery chain that sells name brand groceries & fresh produce for 40% - 70% less than conventional grocery stores. How? By buying overstocked, seasonal, closeout, & discontinued items from various suppliers. This "opportunistic buying" allows them to acquire items at significant discounts, which are passed on to us. My 14 YO daughter's swim team does this away meet "gift" (junk) exchange where they create a goody bag filled with their fav snacks & drinks. They're kids so it's obviously junk foods & sodas, except for the handful who treat each meet with consideration of this bag o' treats may hinder their performance. I'm grateful for the less expensive options at Grocery Outlet. Since I don't agree with their choices, I started creating my own carbo-load sustenance (fresh fruits, granola bars, nuts, etc.) on competition days. Grocery Outlet offer pretty great deals on fresh fruits, I especially loved the 2-lb. strawberry pack that my husband got recently... so fresh, juicy, & sweet! I got some red cherries (at $2.99/lb.) that were sweet too! Not all produce offer better quality & prices, I'd say it's more like 50-50. Another recent find was A-Sha Spicy Seaweed (only 99¢) & Keroppi Mandarin Noodles with Silly Spicy Sauce (60% discount). Store hours are 7:00 AM - 10:00 PM daily, just a couple hours shorter than the traditional stores. Wide aisles are well-stocked & organized, but you may not always find the same products at your next shopping trip due to opportunistic buying, & what may be priced that day may be priced differently the next day (e.g. Quaker Chewy Limited Edition Valentine Minis: Chocolate Chip with Sprinkles was 99¢, & 2 days later it was $3.99). Also, it's important to check the expiration dates for those too-good-to-be-true deals, they usually have a short expiration dates or are already expired. Yikes! There's usually only 1 register opened even when there's a line, I wish they would opened another register, but the cashiers are typically quick that sometimes I have to load my own bags. Sign up for the WOW! Crowd with your mobile number to enter sweepstakes, track savings, & purchase history. Download the app to see what's in store, get access to insider events, & digital offers, including a $5 off $25 coupon at registration.
