This review is based on cleanliness, and organization. It is a smaller branch. They usually have what I'm looking for, however they need to stock more inventory. They're either short on items, or not enough. They only have a couple of selections for their items. Overall I haven't had any other major complaints at this location based on service. They are usually friendly. My only concern is that they need more staff here. The cashier is usually wandering around or nowhere to be found. Sometimes no one is at the front minding the store, and you're there standing in line waiting for them to come out of the woodwork. There's always only 1 cashier and MAYBE one person on the floor stocking up.

Clean well organized store with a great discount section that prevents food waste. Really friendly, quick service and wide selection of items for various household and stationary needs.

i've been to this daiso only two times but both have been pretty good experiences. the last time i came i bought two little piggy banks that were less than $4 each! there's tons of affordable items in daiso from stationary stuff to cooking supplies. i mainly came here to see if they had any miffy things in stock but there weren't any. they did have some good sanrio and bt21 items. this daiso is located in a pretty spacious plaza so there is tons of parking around. the inside is big and as any other daiso store. i'd say most of the items won't exceed over $10 which is really good for the quality. the customer service was good, i was welcomed when i came inside the store. there's not a lot of people usually. it's very clean inside the stores and everything is stocked up

Daiso is the Japanese "Dollar Tree / 99 Cent Only Store" equivalent but with much higher quality items and unique inventory. You'll often find great gift items with low costs and high perceived value here. It's a great place to shop. In Japan, there's Daiso's there, so in fact if you visited Japan and were obligated to bring back souvenir gifts to friends and family, you might be wise to not buy them anything in Japan and then when you come back, just shop here and fulfill your social obligations conveniently here :) ...it's basically the same stuff from Japan, imported here to America anyway.

Daiso is the place where you go in wanting one thing, and then go home with 10-20 things. It happens all the time. I have been coming to marukai (now called Daiso) for years now. You can find the cutest school supplies, kitchen, bed and bath and gift supplies. Its all $1.50 (some items will be more). The store itself is very clean and well stocked, you can easily find things that you need. I usually go here for school supplies like highlighters, notebooks, pens, pencils and post it notes although every now and then i find cute stationary. I also get plates and cups, stuff for the kitchen, and gift supplies (cards, gift bags, and wrapping paper). They also The cashiers are very nice. However, They do charge 20 cents a bag so please bring your own. Overall, i highly encourage everyone to come here at least once, I guarentee there is something here that you need and its very affordable.

Most items are $1.50 each! Daiso is like a 99 Cents Only Store or a Dollar Tree... except that this store has merchandise from Japan! I like these inexpensive shops. I usually can find something cute (like hair accessories, stationary, socks, etc.) for my nieces and something useful like household goods for my mom and sisters back home in Hawaii. The shelves here are well stocked as compared with the Koreatown location. This Torrance location also seems to be tidier and have wider aisles. There was only one cashier, but she was efficient and friendly! I liked the free parking and quality Japanese goods! I sure am looking forward to returning! Note: remember to bring your own shopping bag or purchase one there!

Artificial grass from Daiso. 10 out of 10!

I bought these artificial grass patches at Daiso. It came up to $20 to fill the nook which could be slightly expensive for a litterbox mat, but it is totally worth it. Cats even use it for scratch board sometimes but it's very sturdy so I don't need to worry. It holds the litter 98% so there is very little crumb on the outside floor.

They have 2 entrances, one in the front and one in the back. It can get overwhelming with the cramped aisles and so many people, especially around the weekends and holidays. To anyone who has anxiety or claustrophobia, do not go here on the holidays. But if you come in on a weekday evening or morning, you'll find that it's calmer. They also tend to stock their shipments around those days so you get first dibs on what's fresh at the store. And if you like hello kitty, Disney or other collectables. My pro-tip is to check the trash bins, baskets, and cabinets because sometimes, you'll find a hidden stash of items. One time, I opened a cabinet to find a hello kitty holiday mixing bowl. I ran to the register, past a group customers who did a double take and said "Where did she get that mixing bowl??" Now unfortunately, the only thing I dislike about this location is one of the shift leads or managers. Idk her name. She talks bad about the customers in front of other customers. The person she was speaking poorly of is, in my case, my mom! This happened around Summer of 2025. Now when my mom and I get in line, we always pay separately. We each buy our own items. So when they call us to a register we take turns on who goes first: sometimes it's me, sometimes it's her. It depends on who has the least items. It just so happens this time it was me and that I picked to go to the register with the manager or shift lead - what ever she was. She says hi and I say hello. She offers the store card. I say no thank you. Then she speaks into her microphone thing - "yah that lady that went to your register. Yah, she doesn't like me, she always lets someone else go in front of her so she doesn't go up to me. Can you believe that? I know." I turned to the register she was speaking of, and lo and behold, it was my mom. I try my best to keep a blank face as she's processing my transaction. Then I smile at her (which was very difficult to do). and say "have a great day." Then I go to my mom's register and say "HI MOM I'm done." Then when she was done we both walk back past her. The shift lead was shocked. And I turned and gave her a wonderful look that say a bunch of colorful things. Moral of the story: don't bad mouth other customers. wait until the break room or when you go home. I spoke to my mom afterwards and she said she has no clue who she even is.

As far as the lines they a few people in line but you didn't have to wait so long they had all the cashiers open so it had a great flow. [Review #799] 2023-087…read more TJ Maxx is located in the heart of Peninsula Shopping Center. Although I've heard of them, I don't recall shopping at the stores. They are the flagship chain of TJX Companies; strangely, they operate as sister stores with Marshalls, which I do frequent, & both chains generally stock similar items (men's, women's, & children's apparel, shoes, & accessories; bath & beauty products; jewelry & other accessories; housewares, kitchen & home products) of those found at major department store except theirs is generally discounted. I don't believe the Rolling Hills Estates location is a higher volume store; those store may have a high-end designer department called The Runway. And it's also unexpected to find a discount department store in the affluent hills. During this school year (2023 - 2024), my son's Cantonese class has doubled the students so I've been hanging out with other parents shootin' the breeze, takin' a coffee/tea break, walking (to get some exercise in), & window shopping (sometimes actually buying stuff). The store opens pretty early, at 9:30 AM, for a Saturday morning so we usually have it pretty much to ourselves when we're browsing here. Their inventory is comparable to Marshalls, & I've gotten some great deals. What's impressive about this location is their luxury inventory... some unexpected finds include: Mackage (I knew it was a thing but haven't heard of them & needed to look them up; they're a Canadian prestigious luxury outwear clothing brand), Fendi, TOTEME (Stockholm-based label exploring the appeal of the modern uniform with meticulous craftsmanship, methodic repetition, & distinct design cues). They even carry one of my fav brands: Life is Good; an American apparel & accessories lifestyle brand known for its optimistic t-shirts that often feature Jake, a smiling stick figure. I love their pjs... so comfy & cozy. The store is organized & well-stocked, probably because we're here first thing in the morning. Can't imagine what it would be like mid-day since there's only a skeleton crew in the mornings, I'm sure they'll increase the staff during the busier shopping hours. My friend found a couple pairs of designed shades in the locked display case, & it took awhile to find someone, then another staff member to open the case. While she was mulling over which to purchase, both were great deals, I/she felt rushed into making a decision. And for security purposes (understandably), she couldn't hold onto them & he brought her glasses to the cashier even though the registers are the next row over. The staff is friendly & welcoming on our Saturday mornings, & any purchases are processed quickly. If you're looking for mark-downed name brands, you can try your luck at TJ Maxx, but it might take some time to find that treasure. Happy hunting!
