Such a fun place to grab a bit of decor, baking supplies, and pretty much any decor to spruce up your home along with other really unique and fun stuff. As you enter it can be a bit overwhelming with all the stuff they have. It's so great that you can get some sales as well and even up ti 90% off on certain things that are not in season anymore. I've scored some great spring plates and Tupperware along with decor and little stuff that I've been able to gift as well and arts and crafts for my little. The quality of the items depends what you get have always been sturdy and last a while which is great and again reasonable prices. The cashiers have always been helpful and nice and get you in and out fast. There is always tons of parking that's connected with Walmart and Amazon store. Can't wait to shop again! I still think this store has overpriced items, just like Michael's. However, I do like that they have so many options and items to choose from. They have all your crafting needs! The staff is also very friendly. I did find what I wanted but didn't buy it because it was cheaper on Amazon. That's their big competitor unfortunately. I still love the brick and mortar stores though, where you can touch and feel the products in person. I hope they stay in business. I do only come here maybe once or twice in a year or so. Great products for home and crafts! I shop here very occasionally for project based purchases. Ie. making bridal shower keepsakes, wedding keepsakes, and framing completed jigsaw puzzles and more. Have also shopped here when I received a gift card for Christmas. Speaking of seasons, they have plenty of items for the various seasons and holidays. On a side note, it is a bummer that retailer Jo-Ann went out of biz by May of 2025. Glad to have HL at two South Bay locations currently. Another Elite yelper may have mentioned how the store layout is arranged by department category and is not numbered. Customer service is hit or miss. Most of the time, I have been on my own depending on which department. On the sales floor no one has approached me to offer assistance. The employees at the framing section have been helpful and efficient. Cashiers have been nice for the most part but their supervisors or leads did not give that same courteous vibe. This is one of the few places that still carries materials such as fabrics for making dresses or any other items that you want to sew together. They have a wide variety of hobbies and decorations for your home. Prices are great. Keep in mind, this store is a Christian company so the store is closed on Sundays. During Christmas, this place is packed with customers and will often run out of decoration supplies for your Christmas decorating needs, so go early in the season. Lines will be especially long during that time of year, even on the weekdays. You must have patience while standing in line. The wait can be a bit long. read more

Negative Review I've now had two separate experiences at Hobby Lobby where the employees were extremely rude and unwelcoming during the last 30 minutes before closing. It honestly feels like you're being harassed for simply still being in the store when there's time left before closing. Both times, the employees made it very obvious that they wanted customers out, rather than simply allowing people to finish shopping until the posted closing time. There's a huge difference between politely letting customers know the store will be closing soon and repeatedly making them feel rushed or unwelcome. After experiencing this twice, it's really disappointing. If the store closes at a certain time, customers should be able to shop until that time without being treated like an inconvenience. The attitude from the employees during those final 30 minutes was enough to make me reconsider shopping here altogether. read more

Hobby Lobby actually is a great place for "Cheap Frames" meaning lower quality, doable but affordable photo/art frames. You can find similar on Amazon with "Free Shipping" potentially, but so often they come damaged or by nature of the lower quality they're misaligned or blemished because they're the mass produced "Made Overseas" type that are imported. I've had problems with Amazon. Here, you can inspect the items in person and take them home perfectly. I found frames in the $3-5 range similar if not better than what's sold on Amazon, here at Hobby Lobby. I think my instincts will have me check Hobby Lobby first and then do a price comparison, even willing to pay more at Hobby Lobby because when you order from Amazon online, you never know what you'll actually receive in quality. Here you can inspect the product, feel the weight, see the materials, etc. Generally, Hobby Lobby is good, except for on SUNDAYS... like Chick-Fil-A is, for religious reasons, respectfully. I'm sure if we had more time we could easily spend over an hour just shopping for room decor. I was disappointed by their promotion in store. I saw a bunch of promotional signs for 50% off but the item we purchased from that section (right next to the sign!) did not qualify and it took them so long to figure it out at the register. Hobby Lobby is worth paying a visit to if you are into arts & crafts on any level whatsoever. As you walk through the front doors you're met with an abundance of knick-knacks, keepsakes, trinkets, ornament, figures, and home display pieces. I walked through an endless floor space filled with treats for the eyes while music played overhead to set the atmosphere. I saw a lot of sales specials, especially on seasonal items. And there is a whole bunch of seasonal stuff to glance over. It was very busy but the lines through checkout moved fairly quickly all things considered. I found the staff friendly and warm (I don't mean to the touch). Located across the street from Del Amo Mall and there's plenty of parking in front and to the side. read more

Okay, The first thing about this store that you need to know is that it is massive. It is a very-very large store that has all kinds of stuff. It is truly filled to the brim with stuff you may never expect. When most of us hear the term hobby we think about things such as model airplanes, model cars, sewing supplies, and maybe even some art supplies. Yes, this store has all of that sort of stuff, but they have so much more. They have a large sewing section, with tons of material, threads, and all of that kind of stuff. They have a large art selection with paints, canvases, brushes, easels, you name it. They also have a section for the model enthusiast. They have frames, clothing, and just about everything else you can imagine for the hobby or the art enthusiast; they really have a lot of stuff. But, even more than all that, they have so many other items that you would never expect to find. What this store reminds me of is a massive gift shop, where you can find that item that you never knew you needed or that perfect something for that someone you have no idea what kind of gift to give. Where the Streets Have No Name...is a song I sang on my very first visit to Ireland. I arrived in Dublin enthusiastic about renting a car and simply driving myself to the B&B. I quickly figured out that street signs were optional - and that trip was way before navigation so I drove around for an hour plus (probably closer to 2 hours) asking every 3rd Irish local for directions. It took me about 20 times asking to train my ear to understand their beautiful Irish accent and when I did, it was as if I'd found the gold at the end of the rainbow. Enter Hobby Lobby and all that street sign anxiety rushed through me again - I couldn't find any aisle numbers or signs indicating what each area included. Absent was a store directory or any available clerk to guide me...and I could not help but notice there were only 2 checkstands open each with 30 people deep. Not entirely sure how it happened but somehow my brain guided me to the northwest corner of the store and BINGO I entered the exact aisle that contained the bottle cutter I was looking for. Sixth sense? Maybe. Whatever it was, I'm grateful because this place is jam packed with crafting supplies all neatly arranged and fully stocked. Still don't understand why there are no aisle signs but there were plenty of sale signs! Equally confusing was the lack of checkstand help. I honed in on at least 2 senior level leaders who could have jumped in to manage the growing queues - easy to spot these 2 as they would respond when there was a question at a checkstand. In any case, I found what I needed and the wait was painless so there's that. Order for store pick up isn't offered so ordering online with a delivery charge or a visit to the store are the only options right now. For myself my Hobby Lobby experience was just ok. I have to say they have an abundance of items to choose from and their Christmas items were 60% off. What a sale! Many many people in the store (some with masks others were not) not a deal breaker by any means but then you have the ones with no masks and coughing up a lung. Please ruse ones...wear a mask, it is the holiday season have some common courtesy please. There are a few employees walking around and flagging them down can be a bit challenging but that's understandable because they are working. Hello Hobby Lobby! I have heard so much about you. As an aspiring crafter and planner girl I used to frequent Michael's pre-pandemic days. I was really excited to see Hobby Lobby open in the old Toys R' Us space because I've seen them mentioned in many YouTube videos and IG posts. I definitely picked the wrong day and time to make my first visit - Saturday afternoon pre-Holidays. The place was extremely crowded. The store itself is HUGE and there are aisles and aisles of merchandise that you really don't need and it was quite overwhelming. There was a 50% off sale on certain items which was nice but I had to walk down every aisle looking for things because they weren't clearly labeled. Sadly they did not carry the work of an artist who has a contract with them and is apparently featured in other Hobby Lobby stores. There were parts of the store blocked off with empty shelves so hopefully they're restocking Christmas decor because I found the amount of Christmas items lacking in such a huge store. The people I encountered working the floor were all nice and helpful and despite the long checkout lines it went by quickly and the cashiers appeared to be very efficient. Maybe they're reading the Yelp reviews and making the proper changes. I don't know if I would choose this store over the other crafts stores but maybe I'll return one weekday morning when it's less crowded read more

We went to the store to buy shadow box for our special piece of cloth that had an original hand message with signature by legendary Japanese chef NOBU to frame in. It was a surprise birthday gift for our friend who became a dreamed chef recently. We believed that it'd worth to wait for 5 days to pick up...but everything turned out to be nightmare by extremely rude and arrogant store manager Cassandra. When we went to the store on our way to friend's party(it was 2 days after store pick up date) we saw only empty shadow box on the floor without chef coat inside, no covering, no touch up frame work but just our name on it. We asked a framer where our coat was but framer told us that he didn't know this order. And he needs a lot of time to do this job and asked us to come back another day. So, we asked him to call a manager. We waited for 15 minutes until manager, Cassandra showed up. The first word she said was "Okay! unfortunately I don't know anything about that!" then "I don't know who took this order but I can't help you to finish our job before your party, you have to wait 2 or 3 hours more" Maybe you can go to Michael and they can probably do faster". She's never said any polite words like " I wish I could do..." or "Is there anything I can help you with?", even "Sorry" word until I mentioned! Her voice was loud and high with power like hysterical teacher was talking and she blamed this case on her associates. She was kept telling us she didn't know about this. She didn't even care that she made a big moment with her voice at store. I think Hobby Lobby assigned definitely wrong person as a manager. My husband and I both working in service industry over 20 years and she was the worst manager we ever met. I hope this post will encourage someone who are victims like us. We'll report her attitude to head office,too as well as other social media. Additionaly, she was VERY KINDLY told us as below... We don't have to do the job for you if you are not satisfied with our service! Our framers were not trained well that's why work is slow, our store was just opened two month ago and we don't have not enough associates, some of them didn't do the way I taught, you better to go to another store! Buyer be ware !! I purchased a gift way in advance for my Sister's birthday, and it was over 90 days by the time I saw her to give her the gift. My Sister didn't want the item, so I tried to return it today. Mind you, this was NOT a seasonal item, it was a decorative shelf. The sales person / cashier told me they had a very strict 90 day policy !!!! I have my receipt, so I asked what if I didn't have my receipt, could I get store credit? "Yes" she said. This doesn't make sense to me. So, I asked for the manager on duty today 5/22/23 @ 5:30 pm. There hasn't been one time that I've visited the store where the employees were in a good mood or helpful. They all seem to be annoyed that they work there. I always brushed it off and thought maybe they're just having a bad day but when I stopped by to pick up some cloth today I couldn't believe how annoyed the employees were. I found some cloth online but I wanted to go into the store to see it in real life. When I got there I asked one of the employees at that section if she knew where it was. I pulled out my phone with the item and it's SKU code. She looked at my phone for a minute and then said "how am I supposed to know where that is it's just a white thing." First the suggest I just look at all their white cloth and pick something else which I didn't mind doing but the way she said it was extremely mean. She ended called over another employee who knew exactly where it was and was able to show it to me. I picked up the material I wanted and went over to the counter to have them cut the exact yards I needed. The other employee who ended up cutting it for me did not seem happy at all. I wanted to know if they took Apple Pay so I asked her and she looked at me with an angry face and said no. In a tone that was kind of like why would I even be asking this question. I'm not exactly sure why they're always in a bad mood. This hasn't been my first experience at the store where the employees have been unhappy. But if you are in need of some supplies, I would suggest going to be hobby lobby in Lawndale instead. They're nicer there. read more
