Came here to get some last minute weekly only deals
    L C.

Went here in the morning to get some last minute digital weekly Ralphs club deals that were set to expire Today. Walked through the door and noticed how unfriendly most of the staff was. All they did was stare and side eye me. No "good morning." No smiles. Nothing!!!! When I got to frozen food section, I asked one of the workers about frozen dinners. She gave me aisle number. Well, she was helpful. Nothing bad to say about her. The store had everything in stock that I wanted. Plus they were restocking. So it was a good day to go for fresh new stock as well. Went to check out. I was greeted by Norma J (cashier name on receipt). She was friendly. Held small talk with me. Wished me a good day. Great experience. She must love her job. If the rest of the staff weren't so dry, I would've given this store a 5 star rating

It's just so expensive. I'm so sad food prices and grocery products continue to rise.

Somewhere in between the Korean Friendship Bell and Korea Town in Los Angeles, but not exactly right next to either. My goal was to go check out Erewhon and all the smoothies and artisanal popcorn that celebrities and food influencers rave about online, but the Torrance H-Mart was an interesting destination in itself. I had to really restrain myself from buying everything that I wanted. I ultimately bought: 1. The Hojicha Tea Black Chocolate from Japan (the brand is Meiji) 2. The Green KitKats (Extra Matcha Tea Chocolate from Japan). 3. The Hanyul Hand Cream (I bought three - Chrysanthemum, Artemisia, and Ja Cho). They smell amazing and keep my hands moisturized. Southern California is so dry compared to Northern California. Ja Cho is Lithospermum Erythrorhizon root extract. 4. The Innisfree Green Tea face mask. 5. The Esfolio Volcanic Ash face mask. It's perfect for dry skin, and creates a healty glow. I asked the lady working there if the Volcanic Ash was from Jeju Island. She had no idea. I bought it anyway because it sounded interesting. 6. The Innisfree Volcanic Clay Mask. I know for a fact that this clay is sourced from Jeju Island, and I've been buying this product for years. Cleans up the sporadic acne flare up fast! It's perfect for combination skin without drying skin too much. They have vegan jerky, Sriracha mayo, and Kimchee Ketchup. I can buy that at any H-Mart, I think, so I didn't buy any of that. I wanted to explore so much more, but so much to do and so little time.

Wow!!! Recently came here because my friends took me and I was super happy to finally shop here!!!…read moreThis is apparently the largest Japanese market in Gardena (and all of California). It's a very big store that somehow doesn't look as big from the outside, but there are so many things to highlight from here. We were in a city nearby but decided to stop by here because my friends wanted to buy some ingredients. This store was a delight for me as it was so big!!! My favorite section was the many Japanese merchandise of clothes, plushes, and desserts!!! It was super tempting to not buy something haha and I ended up grabbing the box of iconic mango ice cream popsicles!!! It was super yummy and was to my full liking. We ate it straight from the box because we didn't want it to melt in the car ride home. It was super refreshing and delicious. Other highlights was the hot foods bar and lots of Japanese beauty products.

They have a lot of premade food options. Some are decently priced and some are on the pricier side…read more If you go at 7pm or latter they do mark down the sushi and other premade food by 20% off. The thing that's good about going to Tokyo central for premade sushi is that they make all their sushi fresh daily and what's not sold is marked down and got rid of before next day compared to other markets where they sell their sushi that's like 2-4 days old. They went viral for awhile for having a hot food bar, which looked like a buffet but in reality you grab what you want but it's $15.99 a pound. The pound adds up really quick and you end with paying like $30. The food isn't that great in the hot food bar in my option so I'd skip it. The market itself is very pricey it's not a cheap market. So if your planning on buying grocery your gonna pay high prices. I'd go here for a quick sushi roll or some mochi they sell a bag from Japan for $3.99 with red bean that's pretty good. One of my favorite food item is the umami chicken karage with rice that's pre packaged and if you can snag it while it's still hot that great. Its usually on a separate table on in the refrigerated section, It's the one with some teriyaki sauce over it, not the regular one. As you exit you can grab utensils, napkins, wasabi. ginger, soy sauce. Parking is a hit and miss, it's a popular market if you go there at lunch time it's packed or weekends. Personally I drop by to get a quick bite, sushi roll or chicken karage . They do have a food court that has a Japanese bakery, takoyaki , a katsu place. Upstairs they have a sushi bar which is unique I havnt tried it but seems a bit pricey but looks like quality. Looking for something Japanese in food wise, this would be one of the places to go to look for it. I don't know why it seems like every Asian market I've been to is so cramped and hardly any space when trying to get around with a cart. It's the same here.t

I mention the idea to the workers every time I check out and they always remark that they wish it was possible too. It is possible. They just need to do it.

Today I went in and tried to get a middle cut tri tip plate. They had a piece of meat that was on the end and have been sitting there for a while. I said I didn't want the in peace and wanted the more juicier piece from the center. Ask for the manager and the manager didn't want to do it either. So we decided to skip lunch altogether at this place. No one might think well that's their policy. But I've got in there several times and there will be several pieces cut and that's what it's designed for. They have display window and they even ask you what chicken would you like. Every time we come in here it really looks like they don't love their job. They are not friendly but the food is okay. I've decided just to stop coming to this store altogether. The deli's friendly where you can get sliced meats but the meat department they always seem to be unfriendly, this smoke shop they definitely don't have customer service in mind. I don't go to a place to get perfect service. But it does seem that this place is starting to slip with how they treat a customer who wants to spend money.
