Aww, this store and all Amazon Fresh stores are closing due to their Corporate transition to focus on grocery delivery service. They were only in Torrance since the fall of 2024. My experiences here have been mostly good. It was nice that they had inexpensive hot pizza slices and whole pies to go. Sometimes they had fantastic pastries that were clearanced out for being a day old. Service was mostly kind at check out and at the aisles. At the food bar, the clerks were a bit too chatty with each other. It seems grocery store tenants don't stay very long at the Hawthorne Blvd location. My first visit to this store was on the day of their Grand Opening. On Oct. 24, 2024, was their official Grand Opening which included a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and giveaways. When I arrived, the line was wrapped around to the side of the building. I was too late to get a Gift Card, but I got a nice Canvas Tote Bag. I have been greeted every time I enter the store. They hand out flyers to help you shop deals. There are some electronic carts which are pretty neat and handy. You can scan your items as you place them in your cart. It keeps a running tally which is helpful to me. If you want to use a regular cart, they have those available also. Since they've been open, I have been in this store a few times. The store carries a nice variety of groceries in nice tidy aisles. However, the store does have a good number of employees gathering items for customer pickups. They tend to fill up the aisles. If you are an Amazon Prime Member, you can find and receive discounts on your purchases via the app. You can buy whole pizzas or by the slice, food from the hot food bar, salad bar, Sushi, or sandwiches from the deli. If you have children, near the entrance there is a stand with fruit for them to take one. I have done a few Amazon returns here. There's usually not much of a line. After processing your return, you can scan the QR Codes for savings (coupons) which are added to your Amazon account for shopping in the store. I only spent about 10 minutes in this store since I had an appointment at the Imaging Center next door. My husband returned something to Amazon at their customer service desk and I was curious since I've never been in Amazon Fresh. As I entered, I was greeted by an employee who offered to explain how to use their shopping carts. I told him I was just browsing since I had an appointment soon. I walked around and looked for a couple items that I would have purchased if I found them. Unfortunately, I didn't find either of them in their respective aisles. I did see a selection of haggan- daz Ice cream that I would have picked up. The store wasn't very crowded mid day on a Friday. Some of the shelves were being stocked, and employees (other than the guy next to the carts) didn't really engage with customers. I don't know how to describe it, but it had a strange vibe the day I was in. Although there was colorful signage, the store felt impersonal. Saw this while going to Starbird and decided to come in to check it out. It's a large supermarket with lots of stuff at pretty good prices. I accidentally chose this location for a return. I only came in to drop off my return. From what I saw, the store was very nice and clean. All the items on the shelf were faced like someone with OCD was in charge of stocking the shelf. It had a weird vibe to it though, the people in there seem very monotonous and robotic. I'm pretty sure I'll update this review and it will lean towards the positive, but for now? Mm mm (that means no). This was my first time at an Amazon Fresh so I was very interested in getting a first hand look at what I had only read about for a couple of years now. The visit started well enough. I was greeted by a very friendly staff member who explained the shopping and check out process to me before I continued. Excellent. The store is immaculate. Very nice. Everything is well displayed and easy to find. The organization will be pleasing to anyone who favors coordinated colors, shapes and like items to like items. Various workers, straightening, stocking, preparing and doing what they do. I can't wait to try one of the technology enhanced shopping carts. Now then. I'm walking through and getting the layout of the land. I like it. At some point in my travels I noticed someone is matching my cadence so I naturally glance to my side as one is want to do when one senses another being is in sync with one's space. I slow a bit so the guy ends up in front of me and note the words on the back of his shirt. Something to the effect of "loss prevention." Okay, that's cool they make this known and in plain sight. Cool for me that is until after turning a corner, I note the guy is there beside me again. Not once or twice but a third time. Alright, let's dance a little bit. Mind you, about right now the pleasant experience has left the building. I make my way past the bakery area, checking out fresh delicious looking treats as I go until I'm at the far end from the entrance side. I turn around and what do you know, there is Mr Loss standing parallel to me back at the front entrance side and looking randomly in directions as he stands there. Admiring the atmosphere maybe. Alright, let's see what happens if I walk straight to him. I do and he's still standing there looking at nothing in particular. Within a couple of feet from him before I turn the corner, he looks at me (I've been looking directly at him with each step). I make eye contact with him and give him a friendly hello gesture nod with my head. He doesn't return the acknowledgement and looks away. I keep walking. Out I'm out of here. read more

Regular shopping carts outside, carts with computers for those with Amazon accounts on the inside. Someone is there is explain if needed. 3 scanning areas on the cart as well as a scale to weigh produce. You can bring your own bags to buy from there. As you pick up things, you scan them and place them in your bags. Just like Whole Foods, there is a salad bar, hot service meal bar, pizza and deli are. Amazon pick up/return station too. The store to beautiful, fully stocked and employees around to help when needed. No. Amazon members can shop here and cash payments are also accepted. For me, the prices aren't the cheapest so it's the convenience that you are paying for. Terrible customer service, three different employees gave me three different answers on how to get assistance with an item that wouldn't scan properly with their cart. The last employee we interacted with was extremely unprofessional and went and started talking trash to another employee. Sadly a quick trip to the grocery market turned into speaking with the manager about a terrible experience. The 10$ coupon she offered for our troubles is laughable, denied it and walked out. 18 months after this location opened all Amazon Fresh stores are closing. Been here off and on in that time but prices were not as good as Aldi and the store always seemed to have inventory issues with popular items. The checkout experience was problematic and could be complicated as well if you just want to pay cash or credit. Now everything is being wholesaled out but beware the prices are constantly fluctuating and can be misleading. An example is 3 lb bag of grapes being priced at $2.48 but at check out it's $2.48 a pound and the soon to be unemployed workers won't adjust the price so didn't buy. Amazon Fresh had its grand opening yesterday so decided to come check it out on my day off. Arrived at around 9:30 Friday morning and it was not crowded at all. We were enthusiastically greeted at the door ready to answer any questions. Since this was my first time at an Amazon Fresh the greeter gave me walk through of how everything works. I chose the dash cart (I think that's what it's called) where I can just walk through at the end of my shopping trip and everything is automatically charged to my CC on file with Amazon The store is very clean, bright and spacious and there are a lot of staff if you have any questions. I did have a question about purchasing the fruits that are sold per pound. The first girl I asked didn't know so she asked someone else we also didn't know. I understand they're newly opened and I appreciate that they immediately went to find someone who may know the answer. During this time I was able to figure it out on my own. Go to the scale. Put in item number, weigh, out comes out sticker price, scan in cart and put in cart. The screen on the cart handle immediately tells you how much it is and will add up your total. You changed your mind about an item? No problem. Take it out of your cart and the screen subtracts it from your list. Now regarding the prices. Yes there are a lot of 365 brands and the prices overall are higher than other supermarkets. Did I aim for the prime never deals and door buster deals? Of course. All in all it was a good experience and majority of the staff who met were friendly and greeted us with a smile and "Good morning ". Check out was easy peasy. Came to drop my return items here in the afternoon for the first time. Not much shoppers and parking was almost empty. I didn't use the digital Amazon shopping cart because I wasn't going to shop for groceries that day but I went to check every row of the supermarket to see how it's different from the ordinary supermarket like Ralph's or VONS. I know this is a futile review as this place is going away, but I tried this place for the first time about a year ago and I got it. The place is super convenient, especially if you are a Prime member, but they had a great selection of products at very reasonable prices. Especially for their own Amazon branded products. This place occupied a very unique niche, sort of in-between a Walmart grocery store and a Whole Foods. They carried some of the products that both had and was priced reasonably. They had a salad bar, freshly made sushi (saw it being made there by a Japanese guy!), Siggis yogurt (my fav), etc. The staff were always super friendly. This place will be sorely missed. read more

It's not busy and there are so many ways to checkout (self, register, dash cart) so no long lines and there are good deals every week. It's very clean , lots of room to peruse and some great deals on items . Generally much lower prices than big chains ! I like that they will vary their price and actually bring it down when they get wholesale deals I.e. they might bring the sourdough back down to $4.29 if it was at $4.79 last week. But today this girl with braids, decided my package is too big, kept looking in the back, and my big box and decided well "we dont accept this" and told me to go drop it off at UPS. Mind you I have already returned ups boxes here and also in Amazon Go stores just fine. I was willing to carry the box for her as well. And without hesitation I said okay and left. I was going to buy my groceries here but decided to just leave because I didn't wanna carry around a box while shopping. We were excited to see this Amazon Fresh location open after many delays during COVID. The store is beautifully organized and has a modern, fun vibe. Things are easy to find and there are many helpful attendants available to guide you in using the high tech carts. I love this store for the convenience and selection. Basically it's a Vons rebranded as Amazon Fresh. They redid the interior and the layout is very basic and straightforward. What I do really like is that the prices are pretty low and this area does need a grocery. They had a few neat products but it's not a super gimmicky place. There wasn't much customer service on the aisles, but see that would probably bring up prices. We can still go seven minutes south for Whole Foods after all. read more

Prices are just ok. There are items I would definitely buy elsewhere due to price or quality. Big issue right now is waiting to get my receipt at self checkout. I've gone to two locations asking for a manager to be called as the employee does not know how to load paper. Still NO manager after 10 minutes! I just spent $170 here for the first and last time. Only took a manager 20 minutes. Going on 30 minutes and still no receipt. Between the manager's snappy response and excuses, never again. Back to Sprouts 4 sure. I was pleasantly surprised to see the store crowded. Weekly specials were well stocked. Employees were helpful in looking for items not on the shelf and checking the back. Customers seemed pleased with pricing and choice. I picked up the Amazon semi sweet chocolate morsels which were on sale for $1.76 but the store also offered Guittards at $6.99. Very cool place. Modern, organized, and newly renovated inside. Carts are amazing to roll around. Amazon Fresh grocery store is similar to Whole Foods type grocery stores. Decent, fresh, and lots of organic options inside. You can find good bakery selections, household goods, beverages, produce, snacks, and more. My favorite area includes the salad bar $8.99 per pound foods. Lots of fresh package salads available and there's a pizza counter for discounted pizza options too. Donuts and pastries are also within reach. You can find a whole roasted chicken for $5.99 each. Box of pastries around $5. Not bad. Looking good. Self checkout is perfect for Amazon Prime customers who scan their info. Easy checkout. Huge public parking lot. Staffs are resourceful and well trained. They really represent Amazon Fresh here. Fruits and vegetables are all very fresh for sure. If you like Whole Foods, this is a competitor. Must love that it's located in a safe walkable neighborhood. No long lines or long wait times on weekdays before rush hours. Good place to check out or bring foods back to your hotel room. This place has good deals, but make sure the food isn't expired. We found 5 boxes of Dave's Killer snack bars that were expired months ago lmao! Also, the workers need more training in customer service. Y'all don't smile or make anyone feel welcome...this ain't the warehouse lol. The ambiance is just off, and they are always restocking no matter what time of day, which blocks some aisles (and the aisles ain't that big to begin with).
