Review #952 2026-016 Food Order: Cinnamon Bun $1.00 Hot Dog Combo (2 hot dogs, fountain drink) $2.50 Non-Fat Frozen Vanilla Yogurt $1.00 Non-Fat Frozen Vanilla Yogurt Sundae $1.50 Swedish Meatballs Plate $5.00 Snacks Order: Vintersaga Collection (2 Gingerbread Trees, Assorted Pralines, Ginger Thins Cookies, Milk Chocolate with Gingerbread Crumbs); TooGoodToGo Surprise Bag: $5.99 ($29.00) Tip: Join the IKEA Family card; their loyalty membership that gives exclusive product discounts, special offers in the restaurant/cafe, free coffee/tea on weekdays, extended return policies (90 days or even 365 days in some regions), Småland playtime extension (if available), workshop invites, & other perks. I think my first IKEA visit was to the Burbank location in the late 1990s; that location has since relocated to a larger space in 02/2017. When I first moved out to the South Bay, I needed some furniture for our apartment & went to IKEA to pick-up some pieces. The Scandinavian store is known for their RTA (ready-to-assemble) furniture, affordable household goods, & Swedish meatballs for the cost-conscious or those with a tight budget. I believe they pioneered the flat-pack concept to minimize transportation costs, thus making their customers assemble the products themselves. They used to publish an annual catalog, primary marketing tool, that several hundred pages thick; the final print cease during the pandemic in 2020. The Carson location is a 3-level large warehouse with a labyrinth-like layout (feels like those mouse maze contraptions with a cheese prize at the end... LOL) that's starts with home living: living room, kitchen, dining, bedroom (3rd) to fixtures/accessories: home organization, bathroom, cookware & tableware, lighting, children's IKEA (2nd), & finally decor: home decor, rugs & flooring, faux & real plants, with Swedish bistro/food market (1st). The "As-Is" section is on the left before the check-outs with select items up to 80%; they're deeply discounted, often showroom displays, gently used, or discontinued, so inspection is crucial before purchase. As-Is are generally final sale & excluded from their standard return policy. Currently, the bistro is closed for remodel (pending inspection to open), & temporarily located in the 2nd floor. My oldest piece is a work desk that's 25 years old. Other furniture purchased: queen bed with storage, twin bunk bed, 5-piece dinner table with chairs, 2 2-drawer rolling storage carts, 3 drawer dresser (doubled as a baby changing table by adding a changing mat), children's table set with 2 chairs; accessories: 2 gaming chairs, child swivel chair, floor lamp, storage bins & containers, rugs, door mat, mugs, drawer/shelf liners, etc. I have yet to schedule delivery on our purchase because our purchases either fit in our car or we borrowed a friend's truck for the larger pieces like our L-shaped couch. Customer service is great when staff is around; they're friendly, helpful, & mostly knowledgeable (had some issues with a kitchen order & he didn't understand what we needed for our remodel). Sometimes after shopping, we would stop by the bistro for a treat or lunch. I love the Swedish meatballs plate with green beans, mashed potatoes, & lingonberries! It's good food & priced affordably... I liken their bistro to Costco Food Court. I missed those olden days with a free cone for your Yelp check-in. I was surprised that TooGoodToGo had an IKEA surprise bag. I had trouble finding the "main" pick-up counter, & was directed to the furniture pick-up by the cashier; the attendant was kind enough to escort me to counter (took a pic for TGTG patrons). I actually missed it because it was unmanned when I walked in. I wasn't able to find the Vintersaga snack prices in USD since these are seasonal goodies; found their €uro value: €24.97 (~$29). I paid $5.99 for a TGTG estimated value of $18.00, but received $29.00 worth of goodies. Yasss! I love these warm spiced cookies for the kids' snack & great for dipping in milk. The milk chocolate bar was tasty with cookie crumbs, but the gingerbread taste is mild. The pralines are a buttery & sweet chocolate with nutty, earthy hazelnut notes. If you're in need of furniture & handy with tools for DIY projects, IKEA is the place for you. And hungry after 3 floors of maze? Drop in the bistro for some eats & treats.

So for starters if you've never been here expect to be here a while. You'll start off on the top floor if you go about it the way I did and you'll walk your way down two floors walking through all the sections looking at things you weren't planning to buy when you got there But you'll probably end up getting one of the bags or one of the carts even if you didn't think you were going to. It's been over 10 years plus since I've been inside and I have to say I totally would get how somebody would constantly come back to look at what the new offerings are and see them a sample room in order to envision it for themselves. I like we're gonna leave you alone policy that the staff employees and let us know if you need help mentality which is my ideal way to buy stuff. Pencils and pieces of paper all over the place along with kiosks for you to look up items etcetera Great little idea A lot more stores should employ this concept. Once you make your way through sometimes you might get lost along the way but it is what it is when it comes to that. Went through self checkout but there are several staff members there in case you get stuck or you need help or to stop those from stealing. Plus you land in food court area Where you can try different types of carbonated beverages if you like plus they had some good deals on meals for the day that showed up in the kiosks and large signage throughout the store. There is food on the bottom floor as you're leaving similar to like a little grocery store in addition to tables where you can sit down and eat your meal that you might have bought like Swedish meatballs. Ran into somebody else and they told me the one in the valley is a little bigger and as it was you need a pit stop along the way in this one to take a break and catch a breath There should be food stations on different floors so you can take a snack like running a marathon. All in all decent pricing and of course the unique design and naming conventions for the products they sell is interesting.

Great selection. Good value. Very helpful employees. Awesome air conditioning for how hot it's been lately!

What a weird location. Nothing seemed to be in stock. The café was closed and the place was pretty much empty as far as customers. It was the most dismal IKEA I've ever been to. Didn't have anything I was looking for and not a staff member in site except for at checkout. Even their escalators were out of commission. Having just moved to Culver Burbank is a bit too far but it looks like I'll be making that truck regardless.

Great second experience here! We found birds of paradise plant we liked off the bat in the very beginning of our walk through ikea. We flagged that we liked it and planned to look for it later on in the plant section. Turns out it was sold out and this super nice worker helped us. He walked all the way across the store to find it with us and then offered us an excellent price for it. We also got floor mat. They've got a whole section for "as is" items apparently where you buy items as is, so they're either damaged or display models. There they ended up giving us an additional 35% off unbeknownst to us and when we checked out the plant went from $40 to $13! Yaaay!

As of May 1, 2025, this IKEA location in has finally stepped up its bistro game. Bringing in 3 types of chocolate cake slices and the rainbow cake slice that you'd find at other IKEAs as well as the pasta with meatballs. No real entrees other than the meatballs but that's alright. And everything is a served in paper boxes, some plastic clamshells, and bamboo cutlery. They've been making efforts for sure towards sustainability. Hope these extra treat items stay for the long term and that Smaland reopens soon.

Ikea has so many cute things & good ideas. Their displays are done very well & gives me ideas, as I am building a small ADU. I like how they have things organized & clearly priced. Their products seem to be of better quality than before. I'm glad they are conveniently located & have plenty of parking as well. Their snacks & food is pretty decent too. I usually get soft cone as I leave but this time, u refrained myself. Good place to walk around to get inspired to tidy up & decorate your own place.

The good: I love their kitchen section with cups and bowls. You could get a mug for 79 cents and a set of 3 pots for $10. It's so affordable and great for dorms or apartment folks who have limited space and budget. They had Christmas items on sale when I came today. Their frames and photo section is great and super adorable compared to similar items you could get elsewhere. My toddlers have fun playing in the kitchens in the display areas. I'd consider this a great date night location. The bad: This IKEA doesn't have a food court. They sell food downstairs by the check-out area but they don't have a dine-in cafeteria like others do. Their daycare area has been closed on all 3 of my visits. The interesting: The market hall is divided into 2 rather than 1 floor. The entrance into the show room requires going up two flights of outdoor escalators.

Ridiculously small cup for water. Do better IKEA!

When is the best time to go to Ikea? Because I went this past Sunday around noon time and there was a really long line. Is there a line at opening time?

On weekends get there about 20 minutes before opening as the line grows fast after they open the doors

Does anyone know if they put out the Christmas 2020 stuff yet?

    No, not yet

Is there a long line at the Carson location as well?

I went at 11am on Saturday and it took 35 min to get in. The line seems long but it goes fast.

Is the bedroom/closet area (Pax closets) showroom open?I went to the Costa Mesa location yesterday and they were closed because they are remodeling , therefore no one is allowed in that section.

Pax area is open. There is caution tape due to the remodel in some area but you can walk I to the department and a staff member greets you.

It's 06/21/2020, is the store open now?

Yes, they are! They are enforcing social distancing, though, so a mask is required & a limited amount of people are allowed, so the lines can be very long (I waited 55 min). Also, the showrooms are roped off. They are unusually low on product.

Is Ikea in-store shopping still close?

No it is now open with limited hours and guest

    Are u open now?

Yes they are, but you must be patient because you have to make long lines

Is this location finally open to come in? Don't want to pay for shipping when I live 10 minutes away.

Currently open for business please check hours

Hi, i just order a dresser in gray, is there any chance I could switch color in black?

Yes, receipt must be brought in. No receipt transactions are being handled at the time

Anyone know if they're open for curve side pick up?

Yes, curve side is available also known as click and collect

Is this Ikea (Carson, CA) Open for Store Pick Up?

No they are not. I was going to order some thing but it was directing me to South Coast and San Diego.

Is IKEA in Carson open for pick up how can I do that?

It's is no longer doing in store pick up. They will ship items out to you for a cost. I ordered a bookshelf; they charged 50 bucks to ship it. The bookself was 100 bucks. I canceled the order. I hope this helps.

    Play area for kids?

Yes they do. Located on the bottom floor near the elevator.

How many meatball are you supposed to get?

    500

One of my pieces to my king size bed frame broke i wonder if they can order pieces or is it a total lost?

Hi! If you know the name of your bed we can see if we carry the broken piece in our store. If we…

Can I bring my dog to this ikea?

Sorry but you can't .. we brought our dog once and we were told that bc they have the food section we couldn't .you might want to check if your dog is a service animal.

Does this IKEA location offer replacement parts? I tried to call 3 times to see if I can purchase some screws for the Hemnes drawer, but there was no answer. Now it appears that the number to call them is shut down for the day. It's only 4:45 pm.

If you go to the returns/exchanges you will see bins by the wall w/ free screws, connectors and other spare parts you might need. Free of charge. If you can't find what you're looking for grab a number & when you get called you let them know what…

Warranty Experience with Chef's Toys and Mulberry Technology…read moreInitial Purchase and Expectations In 2023, we invested a total of $26,472.61, which included taxes and two warranty insurance plans, for a 3-door KINTORA refrigerator and a 2-door KINTORA freezer. Our initial experience was smooth and hassle-free, largely thanks to our salesperson, Estaban Aguirre. Unfortunately, we later discovered that Estaban was no longer with the company. The Issue Arises On March 6, 2026, the hinge of our 3-door KINTORA refrigerator broke, rendering the refrigerator unusable. Since we had purchased a warranty, we immediately reached out to Estaban for assistance, only to learn from Raul Flores that Estaban was no longer employed with Chef's Toys. Raul provided us with contact information for Mulberry Technology, who was supposed to handle our warranty claims. Challenges with the Warranty Process This marked the beginning of a frustrating ordeal. It quickly became apparent that Chef's Toys was not well-acquainted with Mulberry Technology. Raul initially gave us an incorrect contact number for starting our claim. He directed us to Joshua Wohl at Mulberry, who, while not involved in claims processing, was helpful enough to connect us with the appropriate department--after we had already experienced several unhelpful responses from Raul. After sending our purchase order to Karime, our contact at Mulberry, we learned that Chef's Toys had never registered our protection plan with Mulberry or transferred the necessary funds for our warranty. We attempted to follow up with Raul but received no response until we escalated our concerns to Chef's Toys' corporate office. Unfortunately, reaching out to their main line at 714-662-2433 during business hours of M-F between 9am-5pm only led to a voicemail, and our emails through their website also went unanswered. This is TERRIBLE! Resolution and Lingering Frustrations Eventually, Raul from Chef's Toys responded and offered a courtesy repair for our refrigerator door but informed us that our remaining warranty coverage would not be honored. This was frustrating, as we had already paid for the warranty. During this period, on March 25, the Health Department visited and deducted points from our inspection due to the non-functional equipment. We promptly notified Raul about the urgency, as another inspection was scheduled for April 6. Fortunately, the Health Department accepted our communication with Raul and a photo of the completed repair as proof. The entire process--from the breakdown on March 6 to the repair on April 6--took a full month. This delay was disappointing, especially given that waiting for a part should not have justified such a lengthy timeline; someone could have delivered the part to expedite the repair.

I love to cook & I see all the possibilities of the items to make life easier or more efficient here. My santoku is starting to become dull & needs sharpening. There so many "toys" I wanted to buy but I must resist the urge to amass more "clutter" (that's what Hubby calls it, but he reaps the benefit when he eats what I cook). I still need a dumpling rolling pin, but they only have standard types at this location. Aisles are fairly spacious & inventory appears well stocked, neatly arranged & sorted. Prices are fair & marked accordingly. It has its own designated free parking lot. Good shopping trip, met our goals.

At first, her communication style may come across as direct or a bit blunt, especially since English isn't either of our first languages. However, once you get to know her, you'll quickly realize she's incredibly kind, knowledgeable, generous, and genuinely wants what's best for her customers. She has a very caring heart. Her husband also came by to help lead parts of the project, and having both of them in our home was genuinely reassuring. They made us feel comfortable and safe throughout the renovation. The crew was extremely considerate of our home. They carefully covered all of our furniture, protected the floors with coverings and towels, and kept everything as clean as possible during construction. On top of that, they were impressively efficient and highly skilled. They completed our entire kitchen renovation in less than a week. Communication was another highlight. They were always quick to respond, whether by email or text message, and kept us informed throughout the process. Overall, we're extremely happy with the entire experience. The renovation was smooth from start to finish. We definitely plan to contact them again when we're ready to renovate our bathroom. To be honest, this place is a spot that I want to gatekeep from others! Thank you, May and your team, for making what could have been a stressful project such an enjoyable and seamless experience!

We got quotes from three other places, and they gave us the lowest price. Usually, other companies charge a fee for every single hole they drill in the sink and charge for each cabinet handle individually, but they did all of it with no extra labor costs. We also had our baseboards done here, and we are so happy with the results. If we had known they did vinyl flooring, we would have done that with M&M too. I highly recommend them. The installers are all highly experienced masters.

More than five stars!…read more Succinctly, we met with three or four companies to get an estimate all of whom were pleasant but, somehow, did not seem as though they were listening to what we wanted. It was different with Ammar of Kitchen Cabinet Express, Inc. After a brief introduction and a short discussion of our intentions, he got right to the point, walking with my wife, measuring and making notes and asking questions. What resulted was a reasonable estimate for the work to be done and a plan and drawings that exactly reflected our wishes. The deadline for completion was originally set for the middle of March 2026 but was completed two weeks early. Members of Ammar's team and contractors were professional, conscientious, and hard working. They showed up on time, accomplished what was scheduled for each day. As work progressed, we desired some minor changes which Ammar and his team were very flexible and responsive in accomplishing professionally and quickly. At every point - daily work and especially at the conclusion - the site was cleaned up immaculately and all detritus was hauled away instantly. Also, a great deal of care was taken to mask, cover, and protect the house, furniture, and existing fixtures from the dust and soiling that was occasioned by the remodeling work! This review is being written a month after completion as we wanted to take our time to let the "newness" wear off and appraise the overall experience. After this time for evaluation, we find the craftsmanship flawless, the cabinets and showers and baths installed beautifully and -- overall -- the incorporation into our existing home has greatly upgraded the whole affair. All in all, the results exceeded our expectations! We highly recommend Ammar and his team and, once settled, we will be having him back to take care of additional projects we'd like to accomplish.

KCE was recommended to us by a friend and I am SO glad we chose to work with them for our remodel!…read moreMy husband and I bought a house and the master bed/bath needed major work. We spoke with other contractors, but nobody had a vision for our space like Ammar did. He suggested designs, gave different options, and answered all of our questions along the way. We ended up having Ammar and team replace our roof and floor throughout the house as well. They offer a digital rendering of your space during the design presentation which absolutely helped us visualize the remodel. They also offer financing which was fantastic! The work is all so beautiful, I can't believe it's the same house. We will absolutely be working with them again in the future to renovate our kitchen!

Buckle up for a gushingly good review:…read more If, like me, you are remodeling your guest bathroom and have spent hours and hours and days and days searching for a vanity and sink without breaking the bank, YOU HAVE TO COME TO BUILDERS SURPLUS! I just walked out of the showroom and I am on Cloud Nine. SO relieved the search is over. I spent over an hour, looking up and down aisles and doubling back to look again and asking a bazillion questions. Multiple times an employee gently asked if I needed help and gladly stayed to answer my questions or moved on if not. Omar was trapped behind a workstation so couldn't escape me, but he answered every question with a smile, and Josh was beyond helpful with walking back n forth to ascertain the drawer pull sizes I wanted and giving me the estimate. To sum it up, Builders Surplus has an amazing number of choices on display (both bath and kitchen), reasonable pricing, and a very a personable and professional sales staff. If you are even remotely near here (I drove an hour and a half), shop here!

I purchased these…read moretwo recliner couches about a year ago, and we started to notice peeling around the recliner edges we didn't worry because because I thought we purchased damage warranty unit it got worse and worse around the arms and the recliner edges and headdress . I reached out to the furniture company because the peeling got way worse and I was unable to locate the receipt. I was told by store manager not only that I didn't purchase warranty but that it was nothing they could do. I thought for-sure we had warranty . I found my receipt and there was no warranty applied and yes I aways purchase warranty smh. I ask if it was anything they could do since the couch was just a year old he said sorry but you shit out of luck...well thats how it came across to my ears Lol. The purchase of the couches was close to $2000. Ending if you are ok with the most cheapest furniture from Urban living don't make my mistake...just make sure you purchase warranty because it wont last past six mouth to a year if your lucky and they take zero accountability for selling rotten furniture. believe me when I say cheap as hell and you know what cheap as hell looks like then thats it. Sorry but I am so very disappointed because My Mom and very best friend purchased living room and dining room furniture from them just after my purchase. I would have thought they would given me some consideration smh. rating my experience would be a zero if zero was included in the scale.
