Lamps Plus is one of chain stores that specializes in one thing ... lamps of all kind. After an unsatisfactory visit to IKEA, I decided to stop by this location in Torrance to find floor lamps that fit my needs. [Parking]: Easy and free designated parking lot just for Lamps Plus. [Experience]: They have every lamps that you can possibly think of - table lamps, chandeliers, ceiling fans/lights, floor lamps, etc. The shop has an eye-popping selection of different lamps and I appreciate how I was able to actually touch and see lamps in person vs shopping lamps on the internet. [Ordering]: I ultimately saw one floor lamp (Barnes and Ivy Forrest Sequoia Tree 61" Wicker Shade Rustic Floor Lamp - $249.99) and two table lamps (360 Lighting Fraiser 23 1/2" High Tapered Faux Wood Modern Table Lamp - $54.99) that I really like. I ended up placing an online order because I was able to receive 10% off by joining Lamps Plus email list (check the website for the current email sign-up discount for new customers). Shipment was quick as I received the packages in approximately 2 days. [Conclusion]: If you are in a market for any stylish lamps, then Lamp Plus has an incredible selection. Their lamps are somewhat expensive, but you get what you pay for. P.S. - For light bulbs, I ended up buying them at Home Depots. read more

Went here looking for a new ceiling fan. Although we didn't find exactly what we wanted, there were MANY lighting options. Soooo many! Some nice table lamps which we may go back for in the future. read more

I have a home in the Mandeville Canyon, and needed solid concierge service, as we were replacing around 15 fixtures including chandeliers, room lights, vanities. etc. Ada was Amazing!! She and I spoke on a Monday, and by Thursday had everything picked out, ordered, and half the order was delivered that Friday. After sending Ada a video tour, her recommendations were spot on. They were either ones she picked, or I was able to use the Lamps Plus website to see "similar items" to help me make educated choices. Ada was communicative, and got me into a price point that was perfect for our budget. read more

I've been shopping at Lamps Plus for many years now and always have had a positive experience up until recently. I went there with intentions to buy a couple items, not one person came up to me nor could I find anybody on the floor to help, so I went to the front desk where there was one woman available. I showed her a picture of what I was looking for and asked if they had this wall sconce in stock. She replied no, and seemed uninterested to help me further so I chose to spend my money elsewhere. I will think twice about going back there. read more

The good: Heidi and some other girl helped me during one of my visits here. They were friendly and helpful and allowed me to freely roam the store on my own without being bothered. I got my island pendant, dining chandelier, and bathroom sconces from their online store. I had to come in person to return 2 of the items because it didn't fit my space. Restrooms are for employees only but they were kind enough to let me use it because my pregnant belly & small bladder just couldn't handle it any longer. Their online selection is massive. The bad: A worker there said there's a 10% charge for cut wires. I had two lamps so he said "10% + 10% for each lamp so that's 20%" and he proceeded to calculate it that way manually on an external calculator rather than do 10% of the total. The interesting: They also sell mirrors, side tables, fans and other home decor items (hence the "Plus"!). read more

Customer service is redefined at this store! Meneleck Krishnan goes over and above - and beyond - to partner with clients for a truly outstanding outcome. I bought a lamp from Lamps Plus maybe 7 years ago from a store in Las Vegas and just recently completely shattered the lamp shade. Living in LA now, this Lamps Plus location was able to pull up my nearly decade ago order and get a replacement lamp shade shipped to me within 2 days. Everything at Lamps Plus is higher end merchandise, and even though you're paying a premium for it, you get what you pay for when it comes to quality and service. read more

I've been shopping at the Lamps Plus on Hawthorn Blvd in Torrance for many years and have always had a positive experience. Today, I went there with another complex problem and the entire staff, especially Meneleck, went above and beyond to find a solution. Excellent customer service and professionalism. read more

Excellent service. Bambi was helpful and persistent. Approached my problem like a puzzle and used her brain in a manner that is sorely lacking these days. Mexcleck (sp?) joined the fun and ultimately figured out my lighting issue (where two hardwares stores, a contractor, and I had not). Refreshing effort. And pleasant the whole way through. Many thanks. read more

Hi, my name is HELEN and Ron. We went to Lamps R Us right at Hathorne and 190th St. today met this fabulous sales person named Bambi who took care of us. She showed us around gave us options and great pricing. I will make sure to stop by on my next rehab project thanks again. read more

I just left this store. For the last two years I wanted to see the inside. What a disappointment. Everything and I mean everything is over priced. Clearance items are over priced. Go to Home Depot, Ikea or Amazon instead. And their customer service is horrible. I came in, the first sales girl who had a long ponytail, ignored me. Didn't say hello. I pass another sales lady with bleach blond, over processed hair. Not one word to me as a customer. As I was making my way out the door, to my right, was a salesman. He wears glasses and has short brown hair. He just watched me. Not a greeting or a can I help you. Not until I'm two feet from leaving the front door, does this sales guy tell me to have a good day. Yeah right. He could have asked me if I found everything okay. He didn't. The fool Just watched me until I was about to leave. These people don't realize that there are too many places to go for lamps and furniture. And why the hell would I spend money at a place where I am not helped, just watched? This store sucks and I will NEVER go back. As human beings, time is the most precious thing we have. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME SHOPPING HERE. This store, this business, these awful employees at this store, are not worth wasting your time on! Just YUCK! read more

Lamps Plus - Do not shop here. Their customer service is awful. - Home Decor Near Me - Torrance, California

This lamp plus is probably ran by the most UNPROFESSIONAL staff I have ever encountered! Starting off with the manager BAMBI, extremely rude when I called to ask for an update on an order that was supposed to be received three weeks ago! 2 PARTS, only 1 came in after waiting 3 weeks when they said it'd take 3-5 business days, I've called multiple times and all they can say is " we will check on this order and call you back" I have yet to receive a call back after three phone calls. Manager BAMBI is extremely passive aggressive! If you don't like your job of customer service, DON'T SHOW UP! read more

I had ro drive all of the way to Torrance, as this is the closest store to my area. I have purchased all of my homes lighting needs at Lamps Plus stores. Had such a great experience at Lamps Plus today! Ada Solano helped us. She was so knowledgeable. Can't say enough nice things about her tbh. She greeted us at the door and asked what we were looking for and she showed us everything that would work well in our space. She helped us find 3 ceiling fans, a dining room light fixture, and a bunch of bathroom fixtures. Highly recommend read more

First I called the store and asked a few questions, and the person who answered had an attitude and hung up in my face. So I went on line and looked for different lighting and started a chat conversation, and they just kept responding with "Return items responses" This kind of customer service is terrible. The 800 number on their website, it doesn't connect the call. This is all signs to take my money elsewhere. read more

I've been here a couple times. Always good customer service. I recently made a purchase that I loved. They didn't have the chandelier I needed in stock but a young man placed the order for me online and I received the chandelier and light bulbs in just a couple days. Very nice selection of chandeliers & mirrors. They also have some nice home decor and the prices are about the same as everywhere else. read more

Located on the corner of Hawthorne and 190th in Torrance. There is only one way to enter and exit which is off 190th. Came here for light bulbs for our chandelier in the dining room since almost all places are mainly selling LEDs it getting tougher to find non LED bulbs. Luckily they had a few left here. The lady who helped me was great she was able to find what I was looking for with limited info since I only had the package of the bulbs which was from a few years ago so of course it was outdated. Overall had a good experience here. read more

I called and went to a couple of places for light bulbs for a vanity from Amazon. The lights were so bright. I called LAMPS PLUS and a woman named Armine Gezalyan. From the moment she answered, she was full of questions and answers for me. I drove there and we figured it out. Actually a lovely ending to my frustration of the correct lighting for makeup. What a helpful and caring and lovely Lady. Thank you so much! My dimmer is Perfect!!!!!! Happy everything for your future. Thanks, Terry Robbins read more

We were warmly greeted by Bamby as we entered the showroom. She went out her way to help us with an unusual request-an indoor sconce light with a motion detector. After showing us a variety of options, she explored their online inventory. Much to our surprise, Bamby found a suitable solution. It's being shipped FREE to our home. If you're looking for excellent service, Bamby proves that in-person service beats online options hands down! Cheers!!! read more

This review is specifically for the service we received from Bamby and Shirley. These ladies were patient, attentive and helped us choose a chandelier for our home. We didn't really have a direction or style we wanted and Bamby was truly helpful. We will shop here again and can't wait to receive what we ordered. read more

This rating is so high because one employee, Mencleck saved the day. I walked in with a broken shade from a vintage lamp and an oversized light bulb I had never seen before. I was about to go and look around for two ceiling fans, but was discouraged by the person who greeted me, who ushered me to the front counter for help. She let me know the store doesn't carry shades like the one I needed. I tried to explain I wanted to look around first in case I wanted to buy something. Instead, I decided to just see about the replacements I needed. Mencleck was so helpful! He heard me. Valued my patronage. He knew the exact name of the weird lightbulb I was looking for and helped an associate find one. Then, he went into the store room and came out a few minutes later with a vintage looking shade that would work perfectly. He said, 'oh, we have lots of one-offs from other lamps. I just had to find the right one.' He came up with a $10 price, and I was off. A happy customer. Had it been up to the person who greeted me, I would have assumed no one could help me, and just left. Thanks Mencleck! read more

Place is great with a large variety. I visited on 2/24 at approximately 5:30 pm. Sales associate 007796 was very helpful and courteous. She was a black woman and also a black young man was friendly and very helpful. I had a problem with another woman behind the register who appeared to be sick. I first approached the counter and she ignored me. She was writing some information on a form. I stood there for about 30 seconds until the black woman asked me how she can help me. I walked over to the first register and said I will help you because she seems to be busy. At this time the sick woman looked up and said, " Oh yeah." She didn't apologize. She was short in height with short hair. Poor customer service skills or doesn't care. read more

Not a lamp purchase, but an example of exceptional customer service. We have a lamp (not purchased from LP) that had its bulb socket wiring fry and needed to be replaced. The socket is silver colored to match the lamp itself. Guess what? Home Depot and Lowes only sell gold ones! I went into LP, was greeted by Bambi, who discovered that their spare parts also were only gold. She directed a service tech to "go in the back and find one" (which I'm pretty sure is code for "dissemble a for-sale lamp that DOES have a silver socket"), and gave it to me for no charge because I had to stand around for all of five minutes. THAT is how you manage a brand. read more

We were considering ordering a fan online from another retailer, but we're old school and wanted to see if we could see something we liked up close. This store is huge, and has a nice selection of fans. Dave approached us with a friendly smile, and was so eager to settle a difference of opinion between the hubby and I regarding different bulb colors for a fan that he got down on the floor in his back to screw a sample bulb into a different light fixture!! He also pulled up the fan we originally liked, and it was considerably more ornate than want we wanted. The fan we ended up with was the right size, the right decoration for our bedroom, and much less than we were expecting to pay! The icing on the cake though was Dave's customer service. You could tell he wasn't just looking to make a sale, but to deliver an experience whether we bought something or not. He even carried the fan out to our car! Thanks so much Dave! read more

Visited this store today to try and find new lamp shades for the two vintage lamps I just bought. We were paired with Mencleck to help us look at the different shades and they were extremely helpful and patient, as we were asking lots of questions and ultimately decided to come back with the lamps to see the shades available with them. I will definitely be returning to this location and would recommend asking for Mencleck if you need help! read more

I love shopping at this Lamps Plus location! Everyone is super friendly and helpful. So much design inspiration all throughout the store. Everyone who works behind the counter are super helpful when I need light bulbs or when I come in with a return. Recently, I had an interaction with the Manager, Randy Nelson who is a gem. He went over and above to resolve my shipping issue. I tell everyone I know to go to Lamps Plus for lighting and home accessories. read more

For years, I've known that Lamps Plus exists at this location. However, I never had a need to go until now. While remodeling my kitchen and dining area, I have been looking for lights and a ceiling fan. Came here with my mom and we were both overwhelmed. Lights, lights, and more lights!! There's small lights, big lights, floor and ceiling lamps, track and pendant lights, lamps and shades, wall sconces, chandeliers, ceiling fans, and even mirrors. Two downfalls... 1) Clearly, employees work on commission. They follow you around and comment on everything you look at. I don't like that. And I certainly don't feel obligated to buy anything so oh well... 2) Prices are ridiculously high. I saw several lights/lamps/ceiling fans that Lowe's carries. Prices at Lamps Plus were more than double the price at Lowe's. In this case, I don't know if the saying "you get what you pay for" applies. Needless to say, there is beautiful lighting and fixtures here for someone who doesn't mind paying ridiculously high prices. But, I won't be coming back. read more

While scouting out a couple of new ceiling fans, the frustration of not finding exactly what we wanted was becoming a nightmare. Driving north on Hawthorne Blvd I spotted Lamps Plus. Previously, I was told they did not carry the type of fans I was looking for, however, they were online at Lamps Plus so perhaps now they are also in the store. Meeting Devyn turned out to be the best part of my day ! She was the first person I saw when I walked in. Devyn is a decorator and she instantly knew what we wanted, needed and most importantly what would work in our home! Did I mention that Devyn is extremely efficient? Not only was she able to assist me in my choices, she was also assisting other customers at the same time on the other side of the store and none of us felt slighted! Devyn's expertise, efficiency and knowledge made for a quick decision on 2 beautiful ceiling fans. The added bonus is that Devyn is also a very nice person :) read more

I had an exceptional experience in purchasing my arch lamp from Bambi and with Randy when I had less 1 screw and 1 washer than in the diagram. Randy ordered another set and when those didn't match he asked me to bring it in and they were able to assemble it. They found where one of the screws was already installed and saw that it didn't need one of the washers. The outstanding part was that he followed up when he said he would and gave me a realistic timeline. Thank you again! read more
