More than five stars! Succinctly, we met with three or four companies to get an estimate all of whom were pleasant but, somehow, did not seem as though they were listening to what we wanted. It was different with Ammar of Kitchen Cabinet Express, Inc. After a brief introduction and a short discussion of our intentions, he got right to the point, walking with my wife, measuring and making notes and asking questions. What resulted was a reasonable estimate for the work to be done and a plan and drawings that exactly reflected our wishes. The deadline for completion was originally set for the middle of March 2026 but was completed two weeks early. Members of Ammar's team and contractors were professional, conscientious, and hard working. They showed up on time, accomplished what was scheduled for each day. As work progressed, we desired some minor changes which Ammar and his team were very flexible and responsive in accomplishing professionally and quickly. At every point - daily work and especially at the conclusion - the site was cleaned up immaculately and all detritus was hauled away instantly. Also, a great deal of care was taken to mask, cover, and protect the house, furniture, and existing fixtures from the dust and soiling that was occasioned by the remodeling work! This review is being written a month after completion as we wanted to take our time to let the "newness" wear off and appraise the overall experience. After this time for evaluation, we find the craftsmanship flawless, the cabinets and showers and baths installed beautifully and -- overall -- the incorporation into our existing home has greatly upgraded the whole affair. All in all, the results exceeded our expectations! We had kitchen cabinets express remodel our kitchen 8 years ago. The new kitchen design was great! Very functional- good flow. The quality is good enough for the cabinets. The finish isn't durable- it scratches easily. They installed cheapo hardware- didn't give us a choice. We've had quality issues with plumbing (dishwasher wasn't hooked up correctly and that caused expensive problems later), the under cabinet lighting started falling from the cabinets (it looks like they glued it in), and flickers a lot (which is really annoying). The tile backsplash and floor were done really poorly- lippage issues! They didn't level the floor first. Cheap edging on backsplash tile (didn't use liner pieces). Sloppy paint job. These are all minor complaints. For the price, they did an average job. The kitchen is 100× better than before!!! I don't regret hiring them, but when it came time for renovations and remodeling at our new house, I went with a different company. Again, the quality was okay for the price (which was pretty good). The two best things about Kitchen Cabinets Express were the price and the design of our remodeled kitchen. read more

Five years ago, a leak in our kid's upstairs bathroom, due to some poor tile work done by the previous owners of our home, rendered that bathroom unusable. Now our kids have a new, stylish, water-tight bathroom that my wife and I are jealous of, thanks to KCE. We interviewed many construction companies and contractors prior to meeting with Ammar, and they were either inexpensive but very hands off, letting us make all the design decisions, or were astronomically expensive because of their design services. We were pleasantly surprised when we spoke to Ammar. He gave us a straightforward ballpark figure before even coming to see the project. During the design consultation, Ammar had great ideas for the space, but was not fixated on them, and was open to hearing our ideas as well. The pricing was very reasonable, and the timetable and terms were laid out clearly in the contract. KCE's subcontractors (Salvio and others) were professional, respectful of our home, showed up nearly every day they were supposed to, and took responsibility for any issues that came up. They kept to the six-week estimate for completion of the project. There are always hiccups with a remodel, and our hiccup was that when installing the niche for soap/shampoo, they drilled right through the wall to the other side. At the end of the project, they took an extra day to repair, texturize, and paint that wall, as well as fix any aesthetic loose ends at no extra cost. We got a quote based on Yelp reviews, but we contracted KCE due to Ammar's knowledge and background. His quote was a bit higher than others but all his projects looked pristine and chic which was due to his design background. We could have contracted the cheaper option but our kitchen would not have the flow and function that it now has. My family and I are beyond happy with the work and result. The project was estimated at 5-7 weeks long, and they finished at 6.5 weeks. The contractor, Oscar, and team are very hardworking and very professional. They cleaned up as best they could every night before leaving and were extremely respectful of our property. The cabinet and flooring people also did an amazing job. Another MVP was Brittney, a designer at KCE. I am forever grateful for her because during our initial consultations, my husband and I were set on the trendy blue island with white cabinets, but she showed us different color options that blew us away!Thank you, Brittney!! Communication with Ammar and team was easy and they kept us informed of next steps as the project progressed. We did have a structural issue during the demo phase which cost a bit more than the initial quote but some sort of hiccup was anticipated on our part as our home was built in 1957 and no one truly knows what's under these walls until you take things apart. We had a great experience with Kitchen Cabinets Express! After getting a couple of quotes from other contractors, we decided to get a quote for KCE. The owner Ammar quickly responded, came out for measurements, and set up a meeting for us to go over the design. The day we were scheduled to meet to go over the design, we had a totally different direction we wanted to go with our remodel. Although Ammar had already designed what we wanted, he was very understanding and had no problem going back to the drawing board for our new design and we ended up going with them. Out of all the housing projects we have done, this was one of the smoothest and less stressful projects we have experienced. Ultimately, like everyone else adding reviews for Ammar and team, you will LOVE your bathroom or kitchen. They do such wonderful work. I am obsessed with my bathroom. They are very trustworthy in terms of quality work and price. I waited almost a year to post this to be sure there were no wierd hidden quality issues. That said, will the ride be smooth? Probably not. Could communication be better, absolutely (multiple communication issues we had to chase down and resolve). Is it all worth it in the end, yes, I would definately use them again. The quality of the work is really amazing. They will fix issues that pop up without haggling or giving you a hard time. And from my experience all construction is a little bumpy. THE JOB: demo adjacent closet area, expand bathroom, create new bathroom floor plan with seperate bath/shower area. It was a gut job. - CRAFTMANSHIP: OUTSTANDING. I never had to be concerned that they were taking short cuts. Even other small contractors that came in were complimentary about the precision of the tiling and angle in the shower floor. Tile work is immaculate. There were some things I wasn't initially happy with, they came in and fixed it, no problem. I can't express enough how solid their work is. - PRICE: 5 of 5. Got multiple bids, this was down the middle, but when you factor in craftsmanship, they are a great deal in my opinion. - COMMUNICATION/timeline: 3 out of 5, here's where they could improve. They get frustrated with too many questions and aren't super proactive about communicating. There were days no one was there, especially towards the end as they start to deprioritize your project and go all in on new projects. They take on many projects at once. Ammar was out of town for a descent portion of my project so this also didn't help. I wasn't in a huge rush, but they did extend the project by 3 weeks which was a hassle given it was my main bathroom, and only shower. - CLEANLINESS: 2.5 of 5, I kept finding candy wrappers, drink cups, cigarette butts in the yard, and general trash sitting around. I know construction is messy, but at some points they gave up cleaning other than a cursory sweep. My biggest gripe is that they didn't handle trash well. At one point the just dumped all the demo materials on my front lawn over night. These things never really improved. I had to push them and ask them to clear large piles of trash from my porch in the last few days. Again, love my bathroom and would recommend them to anyone and without qualms. She suggested changes that other contractors were not really willing to do because of the work involved. They also had a cabinet vendor that could do white oak and slim shaker cabinets. Such a fantastic experience. From start to finish, Ammar and his team were excellent. Showed up when they were supposed to, finished on time, no surprise change orders or price increases. My wife is thrilled with the final result. Some quick details. We did a complete kitchen remodel. We had the original kitchen from 1972. It was completely gutted. The ceiling was raised, the paninsula pushed out, appliances moved and a 173lb shaw sink installed. Nothing about this job was typical or easy. We got to meet about 8 members of the team and they were all real pros. Not a bad apple in the bunch. Half way through the job, we had a small change that my wife wanted, which snowballed into getting new floors throughout the entire first floor. Ammar was a great sport about shifting from the original plan. The floors were installed in just a few days along with new baseboards, then back to work on the kitchen. He's extremely responsive, respectful, offers his professional opinion when needed also while still respecting your opinion. He's also insanely patient. I wouldn't be surprised if he needed a couple drinks after dealing with me lol We were stuck in permit hell with the county for my property but his guys still did work where they could and kept busy. It's been about EIGHT years since I wrote my last review and I realize I never provided the updates I originally intended. Well, long story short, Ammar and KCE started work on our master bathroom on a timeline that was very accommodating to our unique situation that year. When his team started work, we had the stress of a newborn in the house, but they were so awesome, friendly, and professional that we felt confident in everything they were doing so that we could focus on our new baby. They were very close to finishing on schedule and kept to the original budget. Overbudget and over-timeline is always a stereotypical (but legitimate) concern with contractor work, but we didn't have any of those concerns with KCE. It's been about 7 years since KCE redid the master bathroom, and it still looks great! We've never had any problems with any of the work. In fact, a couple of years after the install, we had an attic inspection and thought something looked a little off with an exhaust pipe, and Ammar sent out someone to take a look and confirm that everything was fine. Excellent customer service, long after the project was done! After years of use, we're so happy with some of the design choices that Ammar recommended for us that we didn't envision at the time. If anyone actually read through both of these reviews and was wondering why I even bothered to finally update 8 years later, it's because we are now considering starting a new remodeling project and our first thought was to reach out to Ammar and KCE again! read more

KCE was an absolute pleasure to work with in our condo (yes, condo!) kitchen remodel. Here are some highlights: -Preconstruction. Scheduling an appointment was very easy. Mr. Buck came out to our unit, instantly understood what we wanted to do, and set up the next steps. Unlike some other contractors that INSIST you have to buy all the material yourself, KCE has a showroom with clear examples of what they can provide. By the time we were ready to pick materials, Mr. Buck had drawn up 3D renderings to show us what the kitchen would look like. After we selected the materials, Mr. Buck updated the renderings to show us what it would look like with the materials we picked. That is a huge plus. -Cost / Scheduling. As mentioned, they coordinate so all material is delivered and installed effectively, which was huge for us. Maria did a great job of being available when we had questions and helping schedule multiple different installers. Not to mention, they were more cost effective than other contractors who said we had to buy the material ourselves on top of the cost they provided. -Finished product. It was invaluable to have a contractor who understood our goals, and communicated it to the team to show the vision, and was up for a bit of a challenge. We ran into some difficulties throughout it, like any project, and each time they went above and beyond and were so thorough in solving all the problems and making sure we were totally happy with the results. I am doing a kitchen, 2 bathroom, and one powder room, plus a garden window replacement "new construction" remodel, and reached out to 11 contractors and GCs for proposals and quotes. I reached out to KCE, and got an appointment for their contractor, Bashar to come out and take measurements and provide us with a design and pricing / proposal. Bashar was very personable, polite, and helped us with the measurements, and got everything he needed and made an appointment for me to go see him that weekend, at their showroom in Buena Park, which was 30 minutes away from me (long drive). I would have preferred not going that route, but learned that was the best way of doing this, since being on site would be most helpful in making the best decisions. I got there at 10am and left at 1:30pm. He was very thorough with the cabinet design and the presentation process. I was very impressed so far, compared to everyone else at this point. Bashar provided a proposal, cabinet and bathroom designs. There was a small mistake made with the kitchen but that was fixed (measurement was read incorrectly). Bashar spent a good amount of time matching up our materials and that was very helpful. I was ready to sign up and stop the proposal process with everyone else right there if their price was in line with what I was looking for. But they were much higher, but in line with 2 of the other 10 GCs I spoke with, so not out of the ordinary. Bashar even went to the extent of calling the owner, Amar to come in and see what they could do, and he was able to bring the price down even more to earn my business. But in the end, I decided to go with somone else. Overall, I think if you are looking to do a remodel, they should definitely be in your top 5 list, if anything top 3. They were in my top 3, and the reason I didn't go with them, was because the GC I chose was closer to me, and I was able to get custom cabinets at the price of prefab which no one else was able to do. And the price of the GC I was going with, with the extras was less than them, but this wasn't the main factor. Otherwise, I'd likely use them because of all their attributes. I recommend them for anyone looking to do a remodel and looking to get a proposal and quote for their project. They know the business well, and can be of great help in the process. read more

We could not have asked for better results then what KCE delivered, we want to thank you Ammar and his office staffs and contractors who made it all happened with a friendly and professional attitude. Maria was very on point at making sure contractors showed up to do the work and follow up with any issues. Buck was awesome to work with, he didn't make a fuss every time we asked him to change up the CAD design. Sal, the supervisor on the project was easy to work with and really knows how to run his crew albeit I would have like to see him on site a bit more frequent. Rudy, the electrician did a professional job at running all of our lighting and electrical work, he is such a perfectionist and pays attention to details. Carlos the plumber knows his stuff and also a perfectionist, made our re-pipe and sewer line run much better then before. With any contract work, it's never smooth sailing but we had little hiccups here and there. However, Ammar was always willing to listen and made it clear to us that at the end of the day, he wanted us to be happy with the results. We had started with just the kitchen and as time went on, we added various change orders and ended up redoing our entire first floor using KCE. Ammar didn't give us a hard time with the new changes but was very accommodating and competitive with pricing as he handled it with professionalism. One thing that gave us confidence in KCE was when Ammar took us on a tour of two properties that were finishing up on their remodeling with very similar design as ours, this reaffirmed us that they knew what they are doing and we can see actual results vs photos. It's a different feeling seeing the finish work in action then on pictures. We are glad we went with KCE and would/have recommend Ammar and his crew to anyone who is looking to do a remodel. I interviewed four contractors before I decided to use KCE. What really tipped the scales for me was the quick response from the owner, Ammar upon my request for a quote and his attention to detail on his first walk-thru of my home. My original intent was to have the kitchen and one and a half bathrooms remodeled, and one floor level replaced by tile. I signed the contract early August and the job was to start in a month, and ended up starting almost two weeks early, which was a pleasant surprise. Though they told me the job would take about 3 months, due to Covid and the holidays, I presumed and was prepared for it to take longer. To my surprise, the job was happening rapidly and smoothly. So much so, I decided about halfway through, that I would remodel the entire townhome at the same time. Partly because, I could not image going through a second demolition if I didn't have to (messy.....obviously) Also, I knew I had a quality team working for me and wanted to take advantage of the situation. And thirdly, it was more cost effective. Upon requesting the complete home be renovated, Ammar's team didn't miss a beat. Tile throughout two floors, 3 bathrooms , two fireplaces, gutted kitchen (including removal of a wall and new footprint) wet bar, recessed lighting.......was done in 4 months! Obviously, issues arose during the construction, it's expected when you're dealing with demolition, electricians, cabinet makes, glass installers, plumbers, tile layers.....to name a few. What I really appreciated was, if I could not get satisfactory answers or results from the particular worker on the job, I knew Ammar was just a phone call away. And if by chance he did not pick up the phone, which was rare, I could expect a phone call from him within 30 minutes tops. This itself was priceless. I would have no hesitation (if I had anything else to do) to invite KCE back to my property. P.S. Maria, the receptionist ( the lifeline to the company) was phenomenal. Awesome shop, loved the sales people who spent an hour with me designing cabinets. Some of the more cost effective designs had a multi month lead time but that was ok for me. Their high end stuff prominently displayed in their showroom looks amazing for those on a wider budget than me. Ask for Buck when you come. read more
