I consider myself to be a foodie but as all foodies know, sometimes basic and simple still makes the best meal. The service here is great. And I've only gotten the same perfect breakfast: THE PANCAKE COMBO. You can go wrong with two types of protein and two types of carbs!. For some reason this breakfast tastes extra yummy if you place the fried eggs on top of the pancakes, break the yokes and smother with syrup. I'm not a fan of the coffee here but that's just me. This was one of the best dining experiences I've had in a while! Adrian was a stellar server. He was attentive, asking how everything was, did I need a refill on my hot chocolate and handling my somewhat picky request for my poached eggs. He cleared my dirty plates as I used them without me having to ask him to do so. That alone impressed me, because most servers don't do that. The food was excellent also. I've been to tons of IHOP locations and this one is by the far the absolute WORST one I've been to. Came here for lunch with my kiddo about a week ago and he asked for a kids burger with an extra patty. They told me adding an extra patty was the same price as the entire kids meal that included a side AND drink. Told them that's absurd and never mind. The pancakes I got were great so no complaints there. Well today I get here and they take me to the back. Server comes and I let him know I wanted the BLUE raspberry drink they have. He repeated back just raspberry. So I said "yes the BLUE raspberry". Server comes back to the table with a RED drink. Tell him a third time I asked for blue. I ordered our food and requested for a small side of melted butter. The food comes out with a side of butter (not melted) so I again am having to ask for the right thing to be provided to me. I got the breakfast sampler and the eggs were absolutely horrendous. They were cold and the taste was sh*t. Normally I'm not one to complain about some eggs but those were foul. The plate came with bacon and sausage and the sausage was COLD. I truly debated saying take all of it back I want none of it with how awful it was and the lack of listening skills. The only reason I'm rating it a 3 is because as much as this location SUCKS the pancakes don't fail. The Music was upbeat, I was singing along with 80% of the songs, so credit to the IHOP DJ, lol! We each got the Rooty Tooty fresh and Fruity combos. Food was amazing. Biscuits and Gravy were on POINT. My wife says they were the best gluten free pancakes she's ever had, so that's a winner. My gluten cakes were amazing as well, lol. This may come as a surprise to some but I had two back to back above average experiences at the new IHOP in Goleta by the DMV and Costco. First visit a couple weeks ago my friend and I were both eyeing the samespecial, a BLT with choice of side salad, fries, or onion rings. I regret not getting pictures because the servong of onion rings was massive. Te BLT was the perfect size, bacon perfectly cooked and lettuce and tomato fresh. I gobbled it down and only had enough room for one onion ring. We could have shared the lunch and it would have been enough. The waiter offered us the Happy Hour price and that did add to a pleasant experience. The restaurant was clean, the service fast, the food fresh and tasty and a great price. My second visit was yesterday. You guessed it, a BLT! I hate enough points on my IHOP rewards app for a free sandwich but I had inadvertently messed up so was going to have to call Customer Service. Then Aaron, the manager, came over and GAVE me the lunch because he saw I had had the points. Who does that these days? Everyone is raising prices and price-gouging. I never expected to have such a great experience at IHOP, all the employees were welcoming and attentive and space was great. Came here with my boyfriend and our server Rogelio was amazing. Super nice and went above and beyond and was understanding and accommodating when I requested a couple customizations. Rogelio is one of the best servers I have ever had in a restaurant super friendly and did an amazing job at making sure everything was great and we had everything we needed. I usually don't like chain restaurants but I gotta admit that I really enjoy IHOP pancakes. I like a classic buttermilk stack with maple pecan syrup. I had a coupon for a free birthday stack of pancakes! I also ordered a side side of ham. A perfect breakfast!! Our granddaughters love the pancakes or French toast with Nutella ( they will bring a side of fruit on request) Staff attentive and if you request they do have a great in house salsa you can add to your eggs. We live in and this is the only IHOP we'll go to. The service is always great and they always go the extra mile. You'll notice this, if you pay attention. - Patty was our waitress today. She is gracious, speedy and goes above and beyond the call of duty. There were four of us at the table today and we had a lot of requests: butter, extra napkins, salsa, ketchup, water, peppers on the side, creamer... She didn't need to write anything down, and she got it right away for us. - Two of us ordered pancakes and she made sure the maple syrup was warm! We never needed to ask for coffee, we certainly had enough creamer and an array of sugars to choose from. Thank you Patty, you're a gem! read more

I recall this place was called the Fig Tree. In the center there is a huge fig tree which has survived for many years. It is now an IHPO. They put glass windows in the center of the restaurant so the tree is visible. However it seemed the tree was losing bark or twigs thus closing the outdoor patio. Such necessitated a longer wait. I got there at noon. There were many people arriving at the same time. Once seated we were promptly given menus. My 10 year old granddaughter received a kids menu and crayons. Very nice. She ordered pancakes as did her mom. I ordered a senior eggs with sausage/bacon and hash browns. We were served promptly after ordering. The food was fine. No real problems although I wish we could have used the patio. read more

Best place for Family Dining? Really? Well this is Santa Barbara, a drunken college town so yes! I don't think I've eaten at IHOP before but I was willing to try anything in order to find a place that could accommodate a larger group. The menu had various breakfast combinations so you just had to read through all the pages to find the combo that worked for you. The bummer was that no combos included toast, which you had to add as a side, but I'm sure you could sub-out hashbrows for them. Everything was pretty good, and the kids meals were a hit. The best item was the Egg White Vegetable Omelette (Made with egg whites, fresh spinach, onions, and Pepper Jack cheese, and topped with fresh, diced tomatoes and avocado). Comes with a side of seasonal mixed fruit. This was great!! Tip - You can ask for a side of salsa. Do it! Goes great with hashbrowns. - This is where Santa Barbara's Hispanic population eats. horrible horrible service i've been coming here forever and i will NEVER be here again. waiter locked me out of the restaurant and stared at me while entire waitstaff pointed at me and talked amongst themselves they waited five minutes to let me in. then when i get to the table the wait service was horrible. the food was disgusting (black curly hair in my food) the staff was so rude and barely apologized for locking me out and making me wait. they then rushed us to pay the bill and made the whole interaction so awkward and awful. i've been coming here for over 20 years (im a local) and i will never return it's just so sad to see how this place has gone downhill read more

I should have known better to not get my hopes up, but hey, this is Santa Barbara. I thought my dining experience would have been a BIT better than it was. My group arrived here around 2 PM. Now, this is a huge restaurant and was empty, except for a few other groups. We were seated in the very middle of the restaurant, right in front of the kitchen area (where the grill area is). I almost asked to be moved, but didn't. And, should have. Our unfriendly server took our food order, and things were running smoothly. UNTIL: an employee in the kitchen area (a few feet from our group, IF THAT) BEGAN SWEEPING. With a broom, sweeping ALL OVER and around the entire floor area (where they were standing. Oh, and WHERE ALL THE FOOD IS!) I threw up in my mouth a little bit. We got our food shortly thereafter, my group seemed to enjoy their food. I had 1/2 a Roasted Turkey sandwich, and ate a few bites of it until I found a hair in it. And, it wasn't mine. I won't be back. I wouldn't suggest it to you, either. read more

Although IHOP is part of a major chain, this Santa Barbara location really has the feel of a family run neighborhood spot. Built around a massive Morton Bay fig tree planted in the 1800s, the charming outdoor courtyard is a great place to eat during this Covid time when many of us don't want to be in an enclosed space. Manager Chris Archer has had the same friendly and hard-working crew for years: Rosie the host, Patty and Frankie the waiters and all the rest of the staff always make everyone feel welcome here. Of course the pancakes are great (they are the house of Pancakes :) But I think their French toast is the best in town. The burgers are also reliably good. I tried their new spicy beef bowl and loved the tender and deliciously spiced meat over a bed of rice with salsa and corn tortillas on the side. Comfort food at its best! read more

The waitress and waiters made sure the tables around us were good multiple times. A family member that I was with complained to the manager. Our first choice for breakfast had a two hour wait so we came to this IHOP. I had just drove 2 hours from Los Angeles and wasn't too happy to have breakfast at IHOP but I was proven wrong. The service was exceptional and the food was delicious. We had crepes, pancakes, vegetable omelets, turkey bacon, roasted potatoes, Orange juice, coffee, and so much more. IHOP is a great restaurant for groups of friends and family. This specific location however lacks the customer service and food quality over the other IHOP restaurant in Goleta. I've been to this location several times on state and the servers always tend to be rude and lack some knowledge about the food they serve. The food is okay, as it is typical chain restaurant quality, and never impresses me. The prices are great, especially for the pancakes and the all you can eat pancakes option. Most days they don't open up the outdoor patio, and now I know why...they definitely need to clean it up, as tables are dirty and old, the chairs are rusting. It just reminds me of a place they'd film a horror movie at. If you wanna eat at an IHOP, I'd definitely recommend eating at the one in Goleta off of Turnpike. Parking is also A LOT better at that IHOP :) read more

So we had arrived about 15 mins before our meal was ready . But do to the fact the meal ticket doesn't print out till 10 mins before pick up time (10:30) our meal pick up wasn't ready . They were really apologetic and we told them not worry not their fault we just arrived a little early . They said our meal would be out right away with them not being busy due to COVID . While we waited in our car they came and offered us complimentary coffee or even offered anything else that could make our meal better . We said no thank you once again not their fault .
