IHOP in Goleta is one of those go to spots when you are feeling nostalgic and just want some good old fashioned classics. Nothing fancy just solid comfort food that hits the spot every time. Pancakes come out fluffy portions are generous and you know exactly what you are getting. It is the kind of place you can roll into anytime and leave satisfied

"Poached egg" not your traditional eggs Benedict

Host was hesitant to seat us outside when the restaurant was empty. Food took longer than usual. My eggs Benedict was as far from eggs Benedict as it gets with a poor hollandaise and over cooked poached egg. My friend ordered a side of eggs and never received it. Overall poor food and lagging service.

The new location is great! I was worried it would be too small since their last location was fairly large, but it's a great size. We were a group of 4 and got seated right away on a Saturday morning. Our server, Brandon was friendly and would check on us constantly. If we asked him for something, he would bring it right away. Other staff members would also walk by and ask if we needed anything. All staff were extremely pleasant. The food was delicious. All 4 of us enjoyed our meal. I got the Classic breakfast burrito. It came with pancakes. Everything was so tasty. We had a great time. We will definitely be returning.

We had a great experience here, our waiter was Leo, & he went made us feel really comfortable & went above & beyond to help us. We wanted to know the brand of the veggie sausage, & the manager Miguel also weny out of his way to get that information. very professional & helpful. We will definitely come back. And to top it off, the food was amazing! Ambiance was nice & we just had a wonderful experience. its amazing how much nicer everything is with friendly employees.

Juan at IHOP included this note with our order. :)

On top of that, the ingredients were distributed completely unevenly between the two halves. I literally had to take both halves apart and redistribute everything myself just to make it edible. Nothing about this felt fresh. I also swapped the "house-made chips" for tater tots -- which turned out to be the exact Ore-Ida frozen tots you buy at the grocery store, and even worse... they were undercooked and mushy. I am willing to bet I just paid $16 for about $2.50 worth of ingredients. For $16, this was not just underwhelming -- it was bad, REAL BAD. Do NOT order this sandwich.

My partner and I have been regulars at…read moreTimbers Roadhouse for years, stopping by 4-5 times annually whenever we pass through Goleta. This visit was unfortunately our worst experience there by far. It was the first time we'd sat in the dining room instead of the bar. It was early - around 5:00. The happy hour buffalo chicken sliders and Brussels sprouts were good. However, things went downhill with our entrees. My tri-tip dinner (ordered medium rare) arrived as two thin slices of medium rare covering three slices of gray, well-done meat underneath. It was tough and tasted old - it seemed like the kitchen was trying to hide poor quality, overcooked meat. My partner's ribeye was cooked to the right temperature but extremely gristly - only about half of the twelve ounces was actually edible. When I sent my tri-tip back, our server (who was genuinely trying to help) returned to say they were out of tri-tip and a new one would take 45 minutes. By then my partner was halfway through his steak. I asked to just have the meat removed and I'd just eat my sides. Here's where it went from bad to worse: the manager (owner's daughter) charged us $7 each for the sides as "à la carte" items and argued when I explained I only ate them because that's all I had. She eventually offered 50% off the entrée but her confrontational attitude made things worse. The owner was more understanding when we escalated it to her, but the damage was done. Our server did her best in a tough situation - the issues were with the kitchen and management's handling of the problem. Really heartbroken about this experience at a place we've loved. We'll probably try again someday but will stick to burgers and salads at the bar.

With plenty of parking and plenty of patio and outdoor seating, we took a long time to go over their extensive menu. It's a pretty relaxed casual space. They provide counter service only. So order at the counter, pay, and they'll give you a number. They'll find you whether you're sitting inside or out. So many food options! And they sell so many wonderful refrigerated items beyond fresh seafood. So many pickle varieties! We finally settled on: * Ahi Poke Bowl $18.95 * Fried Soft Shell Crab Sandwich $18.95 - This was no joke of a soft shell crab sandwich. Loaded with coleslaw, butter lettuce, tomato, and pepperonicini, I love when you get a real sandwich that's just too big for your mouth. I did ask for a bit more jalapeño aioli as I like a wetter sandwich. It all sits nicely on a toasted brioche bun. * Spicy Salmon Poke Bowl $18.95 * Confit Tuna Melt $17.95 - This wasn't your average tuna melt with Fiscalini cheddar and Castelvetrao olive. This was pretty good. We enjoyed the food so much we returned the next day! * Spicy Salmon Poke Bowl $18.95 * New England Clam Chowder $6.95 cup - This was a pretty good tasting cup of chowder. * Crab Cake Sandwich $19.95 - This item was on the blackboard. It's a snow crab patty with pickled daikon and fire cracker aioli. It's normally served on a brioche bun, but I subbed with their sourdough instead. * Fish & Chips $19.95, with dirty fried +$3 - This fish is beyond huge! It's massive and definitely excellent for sharing! And it tastes great too! And it lays on a bed of dirty fries. Fish & Chips is the way to go here people! Overall, we had some great eats. I preferred their cooked options, but the poke bowls were popular with my family. They also had fresh uni available too both days we went.
