We came in at about 7:30pm on a Sunday. The restaurant was not very crowded and we waited about 10 minutes to be seated. Once we were seated we waited for about 30 minutes and nobody came to ask us what we wanted to drink. We then got up and left and while walking out we told the hostess what happened and she just said wow ok but didn't apologize. I found the food quality on par with other IHOP restaurants I have visited. Went on a Sunday morning around 9:15 AM and was seated immediately and order taken promptly. The wait staff was "swarming" around all the tables and the restaurant was pretty much full. Not sure how long the restaurant has been open, but prior reviews noted the restaurant was fairly new. The service in Olney is some of the best I've had. Waitstaff are fast, friendly and usually have a smile. If a customer is cranky, they deal with it quickly. Alexis is fantastic. During very busy times, there can be a wait for a table. Considering that a lot of their customers are elderly, or have tables with children, they have their work cut out. All that being said, the food is usually average or slightly above average. Portions are generous. It's what you would expect for a chain restaurant. read more

Horrible. Location is disgusting, and staff has no regard for their jobs. Found ketchup smears under the table, trash on the floor, and floaties in the water. Not to mention rude service and wrong orders. Worst IHOP. I was so excited that an ihop near me opened until I went 3 times and all 3 times the experience was awful. I rather go out of the way to the location on Tech road where I know my food will be made correctly, and portions will be correctly sized and not smaller, and the service will be a lot better and not served by a bunch of rude kids that don't know what they are doing. read more

I usually go to the IHOP at Tech rd and the service and manager is always great, but today we thought to try the new IHOP in olney. What a mistake, the service started out ok but when they brought our food not one , two but three things were wrong. We were asking the waitress about all her mistakes she made and before we finished she said let me get the manager and we said we did not ask for the manager but she didn't even care, so the manager came over and he asked what was wrong and we told him and he said I we'll talk to her and he left . We were not trying to get anything for free we just wanted our food to be right. So we asked for the check and the lady brought it to us and she said the manager (Chris) gave you $3.99 off your check. Well when you ask for your sandwich bread to be toasted it should be, when you order hot food they should be hot and when you put your order in you should get everything at once not 10 minuets later for the rest of your order. I think they need a new and a good manager to make it in olney. Good luck! Went there this morning for Breakfast. We wanted to try the newer Olney location on our way to Howard County. It was bright and clean, at least. We were seated, and after we decided what to order, the wait staff seemed more interested in chatting with each other rather than waiting on customers. An experienced waitress stepped up and took our order, all the while she tried to get the waitress whose section we were in to do her job. The experienced waitress brought our food and beverages, gave us our check, and the only thing our "real" waitress did was to bring us water when we asked. We had to flag her down to bring it. Clearly, they need to hire people who want to work and do their jobs, then train their new hires better. I also sensed our "real "waitress was discriminating against us and did not want to wait on us since we were mildly dressed differently for a gathering of the Native American Nations. The food was pretty good but overall not worth it. I had asked if the home fries had salt (I can't have salt) and I was told that they were not salted. When I tasted them, they were clearly brined, so they were inedible and had to be trashed.So I paid over $10 for some eggs and two pancakes. McDonald's would have been better and cheaper. The staff does not know anything about the food they serve to help the customers. A very mediocre experience. We won't be back. I've read other reviews, and it's clear that the management of this IHOP does not care about what happens either, as I see no responses. read more

Uh. I only ate ihop today and haven't eaten or drank anything since and I have severe diarrhea. I had the southwest Scrabble(I think it's called? It's the eggs with salsa and avocado and a side of potatoes and peppers) and a glass of water. My bf ate some of my food and seemed fine. He didn't drink any water, but I did. Maybe the worst service I have ever had. And it wasn't just our waitress it was the whole staff and 100% the manager. Food was wrong. Waited over an hour to get eggs toast oatmeal and hash browns. We had to ask three separate people to clear our table. Manager was rude and unresponsive. Tables were dirty throughout the place. This place will ruin your day. Not really sure why I even wasted my time at this location. My daughter wanted to go somewhere and this seemed like a reasonable choice. To name a few things, the floors in the entire restaurant were like an ice skating rink, the bathroom smelled terrible, even though it was "just cleaned", and it was so bad that people actually left the restaurant after they were seated. Service was understandably mediocre and food came slow and was not filling(was good though). Took 20 mins to get seated and the table and seats were wet. We had to ask them for napkins to personally (us, the customers) dry our table. I know that everyone is a new at their job but isn't wiping tables dry and not letting your customers dry it themselves common sense? This message is pertaining strictly to the brand new Olney, MD location that you recently opened. As a Olney resident, and seeing that we have nothing in the area like an IHOP, my husband and I were super excited to go there once it opened. I could not have been more disappointed. Not only as I always offered a free birthday meal via mail (I have been being sent these for the past 20 years it seems like) and not only was it not honored, but then they messed up my order entirely. They brought my messed up meal at the same time as my husband's, and because I did not want my husband's food getting cold, I told him to go ahead and eat. Needless to say, my meal wasn't even brought back to the table corrected until my husband was finished with his. So at this point, I'm terribly upset as this IS my birthday breakfast after all. The only time that day i had to myself, and my husband had to make me feel special, so I told the waitress that I no longer wished to have the meal at all as my husband was already done with his. So after waiting for 20 mins for her to figure out what to do, the manager comes over and offers a 10% discount on a meal that THEY messed up, that I didn't even touch. I couldn't believe my eyes. So naturally I said something. The manager not only had a huge attitude while dealing with me, but acted as if I was inconveniencing her, and then made me wait another 15 minutes for the corrected bill. Needless to say, I will not be stopping her at this message. I will be posting this story on ever outlet that will take it. I have visited this IHOP now three times since it has opened. This first time the server was pretty rude and extremely slow. She really showed she didn't want to be working that day. Second time we arrived an hour and a half prior to closing. When we walked to the doors they locked the first set of doors and completely ignored we were standing outside. I decided to call to find out if there was an error and they person whom answered said she did not know why they closed earlier. This last visit same thing had to wait a while before be attended. The server was very sick in coughing while taking out Oder, but the only one working really hard. The place is messy and trash all over the floor and not say how the bathroom looks. I think the staff definitely needs more training because people will stop coming. It's a great location but the staff needs lots of more help and making the place more pleasant. read more
