I knoooowwwww that this is gonna sound crazy but I didn't have too many complaints here. I did read the reviews and I expected to call corporate once I left there. It was early on a weekday and it wasnt busy. It may have been a dozen customers in there at the time. I walked in and sat in the back by myself. Once they noticed my big frame, the lovely lady named Alexis took my order. My sweet Tea took 2 minutes to arrive. I ordered the Steak Omelette and 3 Original Buttermilk Pancakes with hot tea as well. It was freezing in there, I mean I forgot my stadium jacket kind of freezing. My food was made within 8 minutes which is excellent timing, but the steak was like eating dark brown rubber. I should have changes it to chicken or complained. I ate it. The pancakes were good. The place was really clean. My table was super wobbly. My bill was $17.10 and I gave her a nice tip. I was happy and I'm glad that I didnt experience what you other guys dealt with. As far as IHOPs go, this one is a great location. As a newer restaurant, the interiors are fresh and new and have a very clean and large open feel. The food is no different than any other IHOP, your standard fare that's consistent and reliable but far from anything to blow you away. But if you want a good staple consistent option for some fluffy pancakes, this is probably the best IHOP location I've been to read more

I am not going to repeat all that was written in most of the other reviews. Suffice to say they were being kind. Service: Bad. Had to clean the food from our seats. Food: Cold. The restaurant was empty. There were more employees than customers. The wait was endless. This IHOP cannot survive unless they recognize they have a problem. Literally the worst service I have had at a restaurant. It took 15 minutes for the waitress to come take our order, when the food came out 20 minutes later it was cold. It took another 20 minutes to get the waitress to even come get my card so we could pay to leave. Then next thing I see is my Credit card going into the back of the restaurant where there is no POS system. When I said I wasn't ok with my credit card going to the back they said "it's ok just check your bank statement" Lol like that means anything. Worst Ihop I have visited and most definitely regret even walking through the doors. I will make sure that every time someone talks about eating out, I will reference this experience! read more

Takeout order: I had to wait 20 minutes for two eggs, two sausages, and pancakes. And this was after I called 15 minutes ahead. The eggs were nasty and cold, and it had green stuff in it that I had to throw away. Also, there was a fruit fly on my eggs. The sausage was cold and hard and the pancakes did not taste fresh. I would not go here again, especially for takeout. The host and server were nice when I was greeted, but the food is very bad quality. read more

Food is consistent with IHOP's everywhere. The reason for the lower score is that the service here, Pre pandemic and during the pandemic, is the slowest you could imagine. The restaurant will be 1/3 full at best and the service is so slow. There's no reason to have to be in an ihop for 2 hours on a week night if you're not an employee. read more

We went there last night for dinner/breakfast food. We were finishing up at 10pm when the manager came over and said "We are closed." The waitress was loud and not professional. She slammed down our plates on the table. The entire staff is totally unaware if you need anything like water refills. The tables are dirty and the food is okay at best. Even though we live in Olney, we will travel to Rockville from now on. I hope they close this location down and put a restaurant more fitting for the Olney area. I would have given it zero stars if I could have. We have gone there several times to give it a chance and have been disappointed each time. Never had these issues in Rockville or Wheaton. read more

If you are Black DONT eat here! Super racist staff in the establishment. So I got there about 8:59am. Waited a few minutes to be seated. People were walking around like they didn't want to assist me. Mind you the place is completely DEAD. Finally someone seats me. The waitress with the glasses is already being super weird towards me. Asks me my drink. So I get a coffee and water. Well about 15 minutes past. Now 9:15am. I started gathering my laptop because I was going to leave because I felt unwanted . She finally pops out and brings me my beverages. A White group of two walks in they get red carpet treatment. Immediately seated and greeted. But mind you it's two people. I over hear their conversation and long behold they order the same beverages as me. I look up next thing you know in 10 SECONDS they already have their water and coffee. And now their putting in their order. I never got my order taken and at this point I'm over the place. If you are a person of color save your money or go to another location. Food is below buffet class and expensive! The chicken fried steak was a really low cut of meat, mashed potatoes tasted like instant just add water type. Fish and chips were at least better than fast food but as I say, very expensive. read more

As I suspected, this location just needed time to get into a groove. The staff is on point now and the food is good. The customer service is amazing. For these reasons, I am updated and improving my initial review. Also, the manger get's a gold star. read more

After a year being open, the new manager has made drastic improvements to the customer service by wait staff, and the restaurant is pretty clean. I have a meeting there once a week, and have noticed the improvements over time. I'd recommend trying them again now that they have stabilized. It's still IHOP food, but now it is better. read more

I usually get ok services at this location but today my God!!! That was the worst experience ever! First they were short staff, it's hard but you do the best you can and we told them it's ok we understand and willing to wait. He told us the wait was 30-45min. We wanted to sit outside, we actually came to that location because they have that option. The hostess said that he has to check with the manager, we told him to find out first because we don't want to wait and find out we can't sit outside. He asked, I hear the manager with my own ears said that it was ok for us to sit outside although the seats are available outside the wait is still the same. I said ok. They managed to give us utensils and menus, over an hour my 3y/o and my diabetic mom is getting hungry. I went to check to see if they forgot us, the host was surprise that no one came to serve us, he said he was going to look into it but he never came back. My son started to get agitated so my dad and my husband said lets just go get anything to eat. As we were leaving the host saw us and my husband told him no one came so he told us that he's not a server but he'll serve us, he didn't want us to leave after we waited for so long which I appreciated. He return to our table a moment later, Guess what? It seems like we were not forgotten. We were informed that the servers refused to serves us outside! He came back and told us that and he would try to serve us but he's not supposed to. So I told him we appreciate it but it's best that we leave. I understand when you're short staff it's hard to deal with disgruntled employees but the manager could have been decent and come to address us by stating it would be easier for us if you sit inside but nook they just completely ignored us as if we were not worth their time. My family was so excited to get and iHOP. We used to drive 20 minutes to have weekend breakfasts. However, this location is an incredible disappointment. The restaurant wasn't very busy. There were 9 tables and 3 waiters and a person with a white apron and a note pad in their pocket (this person would appear occasionally, but didn't appear to have anything to do). Our table had five meals, only two of which were correct when they were served. 1) the yogurt was forgotten for a make your own kid's pancake 2) the eggs for one of the orders was missing cheese (which we were charged for) 3) one of the meals came out 10-15 minutes after the others when most of the other people at the table had already finished eating. The omelete also mistakenly added jalepenos instead of habeneros, which is a very big difference in hotness. At this point, everyone else was done, so waiting for a new one wasn't worth the trouble 4) I also finished my soda halfway through the meal and asked for a refill, but it the waiter wasn't seen again until our check arrived. We then waited for about 20 minutes after the last person finished before the waiter picked up the check. We paid with a $50 gift card on a $60 tab. The gift cards were charged, but the credit card was charged the full amount. When it was pointed out to the waiter, he said that he had to wait for the manager to get back because the manager wasn't in the restaurant. We waited ANOTHER 20 minutes for a manager to walk back into the store from whatever errand he was running. During this time, we saw another frustrated gentleman at the table next to us standing with his check asking people if he could pay (he stood for at least 15 minutes). During the 20 minutes (or longer) that the manager was gone, there was also no one at the hostess stand. I saw another group waiting to be seated for quite a while before they finally just left. The manager did not apologize and stated he wasn't in the restaurant because he was checking the trash cans (we checked and there was just a dumpster with nothing around it. We were given coupons for 2 adult meals during a future visit, but we didn't choose to eat here to spend 2 hours to get a free meal, we wanted to enjoy a nice family dinner out. I am really hoping this iHOP can fix it's staff. I love the chain, but this location is beyond subpar. read more

Absolute terrible both omelettes we ordered were completely wrong we ordered spinach and mushroom omelette we received cheese spinach mushrooms ham Hollandaise sauce omelette when complaining they didn't really seem to care I ended up not eating because I didn't have time to wait for them to recook. Management didn't seem to be to concerned, we paid 30.00 at IHOP! And only one of us got to eat and it wasn't what he even ordered. Well, where to begin. Took my 86yo mother here today as she's been cooped up due to the weather. She was really looking forward to it as the IHOP in Rockville is a favorite of hers. I ordered the party melt,which is the main reason for even 2 stars,excellent due to IHOP way of making it with sourdough rye,2 slices american cheese(I'm not a fan of the traditional swiss), grilled onions and great burger patty. My mom was looking forward to the Turkey with gravy & a mashed potato side. 1st, mashed potatoes were served okain,no gravy,when I asked the waitress "that's how they come". First restaurant I've ever been in that that was the case. So I asked if she could get some gravy, after a few minutes she came back with 2 small serving cups OF BEEF GRAVY! I didn't say anything as my mom seemed ok with it, until she put it on the potatoes and tasted, remarking "it's ice cold" . I checked led both cups and both were cold, but the cup bottom was hot. Obviously nuked, for not long enough. Stirring made it room temp. So, now I can see my mom's not enjoying, the waitress brings the check. Instead of the 55+ price n the menu of $8.99 for the Turkey dinner, charged full amount of regular $11.99. I wait for waitress again, tell her, she goes to fox it, comes back dropping it a scooting quickly away. I see she on the check she only did a 55+ 10% discount,amounting to $1.19,not tge $3.00 actual mistake. Getting a bit pissed now, I go get a menu at the front register,take it to her, point out the right price of the dinner saying $1.19 is not $3.00. Again wait for her to correct it, our the food in 2 to go containers telling my mom, we can heat your gravy properly at home. I left a 10%tip, but was very close and probably should've left nothing. Normally I do 15-20%, but bad service deserves a reminder with a bad tip. read more

To start when you walk in the place the hostess is texting on her phone. The floors were dirty and sticky. Order a 2 egg breakfast combo expecting to receive the "free all you can eat pancakes with any combo". My meal came without the pancakes but when I asked the server said the 2 egg combo was excluded from the promotion. Another issue is my toast came to the table stone cold. Cold toast has been a recurring theme for me at this location. I think I'll forgo the convenience of this place and drive another 5 minutes for a better experience at the same prices. read more

I just ordered an omelette and it came with a large black hair on it. When I sent it back, it appeared the same omelette without the hair and warmed up came back. I had made a small cut with my fork and it was still there. The waitress lied and said it was a new omelette. Management needs to clamp down on these unsanitary and dishonest practices. read more

We had been following the discussion and mostly very negative comments on Next Door Olney. At least one other person besides me had expressed our concerns to the manager. Today a couple of people posted positive comments, so we decided to try it again. Our server Eric was friendly and helpful and extremely polite. He was constantly asking how things were and did we need anything. Our food came quickly and was good, although my toast was not very well buttered. However. I have found that most IHOPs are not good at buttering. It was neat and clean. Evidently management took our criticism to heart and acted on it. We will go back. read more

This is probably the worst Ihop I've eaten at. The eggs were disgusting the bacon seemed left over and soaking in grease for days, the sausage wasn't cooked well and pancakes were dry and cold. I just went to the restaurant and the door was locked with the lights off. The hours say they open at 0630, it was 0730. Very disappointed that I drove all the way there for them to be closed. Maybe try changing your hours on the door and the website if you plan to be closed. read more
