Pretty decent experience overall. I will be honest and say that I only stopped by Charley's because I was in the mall's food court, and the options were kind of limited for my tastes. Personally, I would not go out of my way for a Charley's sub, but it was fine for being the moment. I went with the California Ranch sub medium/regular combo meal, which was about 9 bucks. Overall, I thought the sandwich was pretty good and the portion sizes of the sandwich and fries were generous. I have to admit that I tried the sandwich because of the free sample, so free samples work. ;) The service was pretty fast; I think that I waited for about 5 minutes from ordering to getting my food. I ordered the Philly chicken cheese steak with fries combo. The price was quite reasonable. Service was quick and efficient. The chicken was cooked tender and juicy. The cheese and the spices were flavored into the chicken in the right proportion. Yummy. And the flavorful fries topped off an amazing meal. Would recommend coming here again. read more

For my first time coming to Wheaton Plaza, Charley's Grilled Subs was a hit! Located in the food court on the top floor, Charley's is a restaurant to go for fast food to hold you over while you shop throughout the building. I simply ordered the BBQ Cheesesteak with an order of their new Lemonade. As it turns out, I probably should have gotten fries, being that I was hungrier than I imagined. The BBQ was laid on the sandwich without overdoing it, while the Lemonade was good. Not great, but good for the quick meal. I'm not sure how many times I'll be coming back to Wheaton Plaza in the future, but I'll keep Charley's in mind for the mid-shop lunch. read more

Gregory O. is right, this is the star of the Wheaton Plaza food court. Lofty words, but it's the truth. You don't always know what you're going to get from a lesser known sub shop at the food court. However, you would be doing yourself a disservice if you opted for chain fast food over this. I'm never eating here again. After shopping i was hungry therefore i decided go eat some chicken phily sandwiches. I left my express shoping bag in front of the cash register, while getting my order. Then I come Back asking for my bag and the guy who took our order said he didnt see anything. Shortly my girlfriend comes back and asks the same guy and another guy in the food line responds "he took the bag". How come he know I took the bag when I didn't ask him or even saw me ? A little customer service goes a long way. Last week I went to the mall and decided to get some food after work. IT was probably 6:30 or 7pm, so still plenty of time before the store was going to close. I ordered my sub, and proceeded down the line. A minimum of seven people were working behind the counter (that I could see) yet 2 or 3 were just standing there doing nothing. Then I noticed there were no trays available for the customers -so I asked one of the workers standing there doing nothing if he had any. He literally just looked at me with the most jacked up expression on his face (like how dare I speak to him) and didn't say a word. I asked him again - then another worker looked at me with a similarly bad expression and said "we don't have any." There was no one in the mall - yet they didn't have any trays? Its not exactly an easy task to carry a sandwich, fries, a drink, ketchup, and utensils to a table without a tray. And not a single one of the employees even seemed to care at all. Ordinarily I wouldn't post a bad review simply because they were out of trays - but the way I was treated, like I was scum and attempting to speak to the queen, was pretty horrible. To top it all off, my sandwich was completely done and in my hands before they even began cooking the fries. I don't think it would have been too much trouble to drop the fries in the fryer before my sandwich was finished - but no effort whatsoever was made to help out a paying customer. I love this place. His was my first time eating here and I loved it. The food was amazing. The service was fast. The customer service was good. Besides the one guy at he end rushing me to put the condiments on my sandwich before I could get out what I wanted and didn't want. The only thing I didn't like was the lemonade I had with the enormous fruit chunks. But that's on my I guess. read more

I always order the chicken California combo when I eat Charley's and it is very delicious but the combo lacks the fries. I pay extra for fries and a drink but only get like 7 fries.. this needs to be fixed. read more

The food here at Charley's Grilled Subs is cooked with care in front of you and the cashier had a pleasant demeanor. My spouse chose the philly deluxe sandwich (which he found tasty) with dr pepper while I selected a delectable tasting smokehouse bacon bbq sandwich with rootbeer and bacon cheesefries. I became full from eating just the sandwich and was only able to consume a few bites of the fries. Naturally, I gave the fries to my husband to finish off. read more
