It was OK! It's a simple menu. I realize with these places that the spice is a dry rub. The dry rub options would make it a 3 for me as it is just too much seasoning. Without the seasoning, it is a great chicken tender piece. It's two big pieces, the fries are crispy and the bread/pickles adds a nice touch! Overall, I had a great experience at Dave's Hot Chicken. Originally, I wanted to check out another restaurant for a quick breakfast, but that restaurant was packed. Since I was down for breakfast or non-breakfast food, I decided to check out Dave's Hot Chicken which was in the same shopping center because it was pretty empty (probably bc it was 10:30/11 am). Upon entering the restaurant, I was quickly greeted by two delightful crew members. The guy taking my order was very patient with me because I needed some time to review the extensive menu. For my dining pleasure, I went with the slider combo, which has two chicken sliders with french fries for about 14 bucks without tip. I'll admit that I was slightly disappointed that the combo did not include a drink. But, it is what it is. I thought my sliders were very delicious and thickly packed. For my next visit, I have to remember to request my food without pickles. Not only are there several pickles on the sandwich, the restaurant also serves 3-4 pickles on the side. I guess you are supposed to combine pickles with hot chicken. I thought the portions were pretty generous for the price tag. I appreciated that the food was prepared to order and came out piping hot. I think my wait time was about 5-6 minutes; however, the restaurant was pretty empty so there might be longer wait times depending on the number of customers. Generally speaking, I thought the restaurant was pretty clean, and I really liked the "trippy" artwork on the ceiling and walls of the establishment. All in all, I am more than happy to return in the future to try more things from the menu. Well, actually, I guess chicken tenders are pretty much the only thing major item on the menu. Pro: big parking lot, online ordering, delivery app, clean interior. Con: wait time. Wanted to try this restaurant for a while and finally had the chance today. I ordered the 2 tenders with fries and the 2 sliders with fries online. Parking lot is big so no issue finding a parking space. When I arrived it was at the exact estimated time for pick up but it was so busy that my food wasn't ready so I had to wait a bit. The atmosphere was nice and had good music playing in the background. I notice other people waiting and door dash driver waiting also. The food overall was good but nothing exceptional. Sliders: 4/5 the chicken in the sandwich is not as big compared to chick fila but it's def healthier tasting and has a better crunch. I got hot for the spice level after reading reviews and people saying the medium was lacking but the hot was not! It was a good amount of spice. This is my 2nd visit to a Dave's and the experience was similar both times. First off, the food tastes great. A couple sliders and fries with a 20oz beverage fills you up. The chicken is crispy on the edges and juicy inside and for me the medium sauce hits the spot with a lot of flavor and a good mild heat. The downside and the reason for the ding on the stars... #1 is the speed of delivery. On a Sunday night I walked in the door and directly to the counter with no line and my receipt says I ordered at 8:37 with my food given to me at 8:52 (though it says 8:47 on the box). There was very little action in the dine in area and about 6 orders ahead of me from various online platforms. 15 mins is not fast food or even fast casual... previous experience was also about 15 mins to get food. This is not a place to go if you are in a rush. #2 is that they ask you if you want sauce or ketchup but then they are stingy with what they give. 3 ketchup packs don't cut it and if you ask for more it's like you are putting them out. At $19 for a meal Just put some napkins and ketchup in the bag and know you are going to have better customer satisfaction rather than annoyance. Total cost was $19.04 for #2 meal with cheese added to the sandwiches and a bottle of soda I'll also 2nd the person who said the music was loud at this location too in the dining area The food Is good but not sure the wait is worth the hassle. read more

Dave's is my new fav fast food American version of chicken. Very flavorful. I recently tried it in MN and got hooked. I was excited to find out that there is Dave's in MD. We also tried the cauli version. Thus is prob the BEST fried cauli you will ever find!! If you like Red rooster, this is similar but I think Dave's is more flavorful, has more kick. For one thing, I'm a little upset that it took so long for me to try this place. They were trending all over Tik Tok with people raving over the chicken and various customizations. So of course I had to try. You mean that levels of spice actually match the description? The medium is actually a medium? I've been waiting for this. The chicken is always perfectly cooked, juicy, and hot. The buns are soft and complement the meal just the way they're supposed to. I enjoy slaw and pickles, and that you can easily remove them while ordering via app. The fries are...inconsistent. Sometimes they're crunchy and flavorful and exactly what you want. Other times they're a sloppy mess that could be turned into a frittata the next day. The cauliflower bites...wow oh wow oh wow! Much better than expected, and taste great with Dave's sauce. I could eat them every day. The staff is friendly, the establishment is clean, and service is fairly quick. We had an incredible experience today for lunch. The restaurant was spotless, customer service incredible and food hot and delicious. I had 2 tenders and Mac and cheese and my husband had mini sliders and Mac and cheese. Food was fresh, flavorful and well seasoned. We both had medium spice level and it was perfection. The only downsides to Dave's hot chicken is the wait is long if you order dine in and the food gives me heart burn lol Otherwise I think it's a great chicken joint to add to the chicken sandwich economy around here. Some days I prefer basic chix sandwiches (chick fil a) some days prefer Nashville style (hangry joes) when I want something seasoned over the top, I come here. I like how everything is seasoned like crazy (it's called flavor yall) the fries are seasoned as well which makes them great on their own without the sauce. It was a cute little place to get a quick bite to eat, fountain soda drinks (the best), and the French Fries were FANTASTIC!! The best item on the menu. I would go back for the fries - they are well seasoned. What I did not like - the cashier somewhat handling food while handling dirty money - at least put some plastic gloves on EVEN WHILE packing up the food. The tables are wiped with a wet-nap (instead of disinfectant), and a chef was in the kitchen area playing in his hair & messing with his facial hair. Went for the first time the other day & it was not busy at all around 2pm. Had a 6-minute wait after ordering. The only issue that was the music was so loud I could barely hear the guy taking my order. I had got the mild 2 tenders which was sweet but spicy. The guy at the front did help and was such a sweetheart, he was very informative about what sauces they have. I wish they could let you dry the flavors ahead of ordering to know which one is better or even a wet sauce instead of all of it being a dry rub. I must say the fries were perfectly crunchy & had a seasoning on them - they are a must with the Daves sauce YUM. I personally didn't like flavor of the chicken and would much rather go to CFA for my chicken. They were even heavy handed on the spices they put on the fries.
