Our drinks took forever Our food took forever…read more After we ordered, the waitress came back to say one of the dinners wasn't available. Then she left without taken a new order. The food was mediocre, the drinks were watery, the portions were quite small. Apparently they don't understand what happy hour is. They took a couple dollars off the price and gave you 1/2 the amount. I asked for tartar sauce. They gave me 1000 Island dressing. I asked again and got some other kind of salad dressing. So, either both waiters didn't know what tartar sauce is or the restaurant doesnt serve fish and chips without tartar sauce. There also was no lemon. The bill took about 1/2 hour. Really suggest you avoid this place It was nice atmosphere until some entertainment started setting up and then we couldn't hear. They were playing, just setting up and made an insane amount of noise

The Hideout has been around for years, so if you know, you know! The prices are pricing, and y'all know I love a good deal. Karaoke is five nights a week--every night except Tuesday and Thursday--and happy hour is Monday through Friday from 3-7 p.m., with discounted wings, sliders and drinks. And for my sugar babies looking for their next piece of sugar, you might want to check them out too. You know they got moniesssss out Howard County! "The Hideout" is a fitting name for an establishment that's ducked off on a line of small stores. I…read moreinstantly noted that this place was a daily local favorite and most patrons were interacting with a high level of familiarity. The energy level is high, with pool tables through out and sports talk in abundance ( definitely a great environment to watch a game !! ) I sat at the bar area and was greeted with respect and professionalism. The bartenders here are awesome and they come with wicked pours.... Yes !!! Drinks here are absolutely on point and not for the faint of heart. Now what floored me, was how good the chicken tenders were ( which is the dish I opted for ) I'm talking best ever tenders talk for sure... not too greasy, but crispy, tender with the perfect sauce. And the fries were seasoned to perfection ( like... really good ! ) I'm already planning a cool Football Sunday outing during the season here... See you soon Hideout !!! FYI: the 5-stars are very fitting when you compare this spot to others in the same category ( cool, down to earth, lively with a lot of moving pieces and lit !! )

I decided to give Mad Cow another try. I first visited when they opened and ordered the jerk tacos…read more(not sure if that's even on the menu anymore). Back then, I thought it was just okay. Today, I gave them another shot because Uber Eats was offering a buy one, get one free deal on the jerk chicken meal. I chose rice & peas with plantain for my sides. The chicken was cooked on the grill--which I love--because it really brings out the flavor in jerk chicken. I also requested my jerk sauce on the side since I prefer a dry rub style over a saucy one. The only drawback was the small bone pieces in the chicken and rice. That's something to be cautious about, especially if a child is eating the meal. The plantains were also inconsistent--some pieces were hard, while others were mushy. On the bright side, the coco bread was perfect and the Jamaican rum cake was phenomenal. Whoever baked that cake clearly took their time soaking it in rum. It reminded me of the way my grandmother used to make it--absolutely delicious. I would definitely order the rum cake again.

Usually with brunch we would do the bottomless mimosas and all but because I was driving I decided not to participate in that. And usually I would get chicken and waffles but I was in the mood for a burger. So I thought because their name is "Mad Cow" the burger would be the bomb...but nope it was not good at all. So I prefer a beef burger cooked medium with blue cheese, mayo, lettuce, tomato, and onions. When I burger got tot the table it was dry as a board. No blue cheese that I paid extra for and the burger was not cooked correctly it was cooked well done. Smdh. So the waiter brought me my blue cheese apologized about it and also gave me a mayo bottle. Even with the burger still was not good and the patty was so thick with no flavor not even salt and pepper was in it!! I tried their punch drink which was really good but for $15 a pop in a regular water glass was ridiculous. Make sure you don't get too tipsy as they already have like a 20% gratuity added on each of our checks no matter how small or big your group is which again is ridiculous! Will I come back...maybe only because I would like to try some Jamaican food they offer. But for brunch...it's a no for me!

Most everyone seemed to know each other and Eric the bartender definitely knew everyone, including the folks picking up orders to go. The modest crowd included a large contingent there to watch the Commanders lose yet again. You'll get checked out (especially if your hair is disheveled and you are wearing bike duds), no big deal. Eric, a UMD student, is there to greet you, initiate conversation, and check up on your order ("It's on its way"), the patrons at the bar are thoroughly engaged, it's why they are there. I was even offered a ride home, it was freezing and someone had a pickup truck. The beer selection is way above average (they had my beloved amber) and the food is very competent, kielbasa, pierogies, and fried onions. A pleasant time was had by all, it was fun to have experienced it. Worth an 18-mile bike ride. Again, local is the point, you will meet the neighborhood in this remote part of the DMV. Good food and beer are a bonus.
