This location is toward the far end of the strip mall. You order at the counter, and the cashier helped make suggestions on what to order. She even gave us a free container of mixed veggies! The portions were huge and everything was delicious. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and tender, fries were crispy, mashed potatoes creamy, veggies crisp but flavorful, and the salad was crispy. There is limited seating inside but plenty of space for the family. We order 2 quarter chicken white meat meals with two sides each for three of us and had leftovers to spare. The fries were okay as well, have had better. The meal comes with 2 large sauces (mild yellow and spicy green sauce). Overall the service was good, I ordered over the phone and picked up in person within 15-20 min. Compared to other locations in Wheaton where they have an array of Peruvian restaurants, this location is okay. I do like the fact that they offer fried rice. I ordered pickup on the phone and Dina took my order. i ordered my usual delicious complete chicken, plantains, cole slaw, and fries. i felt rather rushed off the phone and tried to tell her that i wanted white meat not dark before she hung up on me. Unfortunately, i didnt have time to call back to check. However, I did question how sanitary their plastic utensils were. In this time of COVID-19, they left all their utensils out for customers to choose from and take. I love Don Pollo period. I like all their locations. Never disappointed. The only thing is I noticed that they have different sides from some of the other locations. Bethesda and Gaithersburg are the best. Both have extra side options. Otherwise everything else is consistent, especially their chicken which is the most important part! The portions are good. The restaurant is very clean and tidy with a renovated/newer feel. We ordered to go, both with 1/4 white and 2 sides. It's a very affordable place for lunch or dinner! We paid around $17 for 2 meals. Food is okay to sometimes fresh and good. However, I experienced customer service to be rude and disrespectful. Having been there three times, the first time, I asked the cashier about available sides. She never looked at me, pointed to sign on the wall and said "they're all there." The cashier standing beside her sniggled and also offered no assistance. I went there last week and again the cashier did ask "can I help you?" but never looked at me during the entire transaction.
