I stopped by this Chick-fil-A while on a week-long business trip to Columbia, Maryland. I came…read morehere for a quick meal to-go, for dinner. After parking my car, I found the premises to be clean, well maintained, and pleasant. As I approached the building, I could see that the drive-thru was busy, but it seemed to be operating efficiently. Shortly after entering, I could also see that there were several customers here inside enjoying their meal. It was clean and well maintained inside as well. I was immediately greeted by one of the Chick-fil-A employees while I entered. As I approached the counter, I was once again greeted by a different Chick-fil-A employee who was working the register. His name was Douglas. While I was placing my order, I noticed something neat that he was wearing and I complimented him on it. We then engaged in a little small talk, and we had a pleasant conversation. So, I don't know how other folks feel, but from my experience I've noticed that most of the employees at every Chick-fil-A have a higher level of professionalism and friendliness than is typical at most other fast food restaurants. I have also found that they provide good old-fashioned face-to-face customer service, instead of just adding a bunch of stupid (impersonal) kiosks like several other fast-food establishments have recently done. These are just two of the reasons that Chick-fil-A will continue to be a successful business. Several other fast food establishments have just not mastered customer service the way that Chick-fil-A has, in my opinion. Employees like Douglas are one of the main reasons I keep coming back. He was awesome. Finally, I've always enjoyed the food at Chick-fil-A, and this location was no different. Not only is the chicken really delicious, but I'm also happy that Chick-fil-A is willing to let me have a bunch of sauces to go along with my meal without being annoying by charging me extra for them (like McDonald's typically does). I highly recommend this business because they provide excellent food in a pleasant environment while having professional and friendly employees. That's a well-earned five-star rating from my perspective.

They had a smaller competitor at Solaire Social that sadly closed but this place has remained superior. I do wish they kept their plant based crab sandwich on the menu permanently as that is our favorite. Service, value, and quality has remained great as the menu has improved and locations have expanded across the entire Northeast Corridor from DC to Boston.

Representing 2025 in alphabet series, W is for Wingstop in Beltsville. I visited this location…read moretwice, once in October 2025 & then again in April 2026. After my Thursday, October 16, 2025 visit, I did the survey from the email, and unfortunately, I had a number of complaints. The next evening while in a movie, I had a missed call & voicemail. It was the manager of the Beltsville location, who apologized saying he wanted to make things right. I called him, and we had a nice conversation. He said come back to my Beltsville location anytime for a free meal. I said it might be a while before I'm back over there as I'm not in Beltsville too often. Considering the manager called and invited me in for free wings to make up for the shortcomings in October, I felt it was unfair to give them a 2-star review, and needed to judge them again when I would visit at some point in the future. The future was longer in time than I had even thought as it was about 6 months later when I finally redeemed my free wings. Tuesday, April 21, 2026 and how it compared with October 2025 visit: I did think they were a lot better overall, but a couple of areas where they didn't improve, but definitely more good than bad. Before I went over there, I called the manager earlier in the day, and he didn't remember our conversation about the free wings from October, but he said he would take my word for it. I said it's probable I'll be over there either that day (Tuesday) or Thursday that week. He said to come on in and ask for me to put in the free wings. The main gist of my complaints was that the staff in October 2025 were unfriendly. They were nicer in April 2026. I think I also remember music being loud in October, which I didn't notice in April. One of the issues, which was not addressed was lack of trash can in the restaurant. I mentioned that to them. The manager said we tell people to throw in the trash just outside of the restaurant, or we just take trash people leave behind back. I didn't love that, but it was something. Like October, the wings were great. I think they had also gotten the # of wings incorrect in October; it was supposed to be 7 & 3, and they did 5 & 5. I didn't say anything as I had limited time, but I did mention it in the survey. In October, I had put my order in online while I was at Panera walking distance to here. In April, I ordered at the counter since I had to speak with the manager to get the free wings. Overall, April was far better than October. Not sure when I'd be back at the Beltsville location. I live a lot closer to the Laurel one, so more probable I'd end up there. But I will keep this location in mind for the nice manager, better service in April, & great wings.

I've had three 3-stars here: Burger King, Bob Evan's, & Catherine's, 3 mixed bag reviews. This will mark my only truly negative Yelp review here (except China Express got 2-stars mainly because I consider it to be subpar Chinese food). My girlfriend & I were pissed at Charleys yesterday. My girlfriend & I have visited multiple times & been a few times on my own. We used to think this was a good option. We even had eaten here 2 weeks earlier on Sunday, July 26. We had a 25% off deal we were going to use on Sunday, August 10. We had a noon movie and arrived at opening time of 11 AM. First of all when we walked in, it was extremely hot in there. I know they just opened, but they should've gotten the A/C going as soon as the 1st person walked in to prep. I mentioned it to the cashier, and she said it'll cool off, but not in a reassuring way. Before we put the 25% discount in, the subtotal was $17.77 for the large chicken cheesesteak sub combo we would've split, over $18 with the tax. I said the menu shows it's $15.77. She rudely said it's the tax. I said no it's the menu shows $15.77 pointing at the menu. I said you aren't honoring the price listed on the menu, and we are walking out. We had the 25% off, but it's the principle of them not honoring the listed price on the menu. So, we ended up going to Shake Shack by AMC Columbia before our movie as we had a free chicken sandwich deal there, which was delicious. So, it'll be a long time before I'll consider going back to Charleys here in Anne Arundel County. Maybe I'll consider at Columbia Mall before or after a movie in the future or other location, but I don't generally like going to places that are near my home as I like going to places that aren't near my home like Shake Shack or Bibibop at Columbia Mall. But this is a situation where I might actually more consider a different Charleys location as I'm boycotting my local location for the timebeing. They lost potentially $100+ in future business from me; perhaps after enough time has passed a year or two, I'll maybe consider giving my Maryland City location another chance. Further, Howard County got the tax dollar from me on Sunday over my own AA County as a result of Charleys rude cashier.

BurgerFi -- Silver Spring, MD…read more My chicken sliders were so fresh and HOT, which is always a win. The onion rings, however, were the real stars of the show. They were freaking delicious and absolutely HUGE!!! I'm pretty sure one of them could have fit around a tree. I couldn't finish a single ring, let alone the entire boat they came in. The regular fries? Meh. But the sweet potato waffle fries were excellent and definitely the better choice. They also have beer available if you like to wash your burger down with some suds. I went in a different direction and tried the special Orange Creamsicle milkshake. I loved the idea of it, but sadly there wasn't much actual orange flavor happening. I'd probably go with a standard chocolate, strawberry, or vanilla next time. Service was friendly and efficient, and the restaurant itself was perfectly fine. Nothing fancy. it has that Smashburger/Shake Shack kind of vibe. Overall, a solid casual burger stop. And those onion rings? Order them. Just be prepared to feed the leftovers to your entire table.

I was excited to visit BurgerFi in Silver Spring on Friday, September 18, for National Cheeseburger…read moreDay. I'm a longtime BurgerFi fan--I love the burgers, and the chicken tenders are good too--so the buy-one-get-one-for-$1 deal seemed like the perfect opportunity to treat myself. I ordered two burgers around 8:45 p.m. and got home about 9:05. When I started eating the first burger, I encountered what appeared to be gristle or tough pieces in the meat and had to spit out four pieces. I also noticed that the patties seemed thinner than I remembered, which made me wonder if the product had changed. The second burger was even more disappointing. It had been stored properly, but after warming it for 30 seconds in the microwave just to take the chill off, it was extremely dry. I called the restaurant and spoke with Josiah, who told me to bring the burger and my receipt back. I did exactly that. When I arrived, I explained the situation to the assistant manager and asked if I could get chicken tenders instead of another burger because, after that experience, I didn't want another burger. Instead, I was initially told they would make me another cheeseburger. After I said I didn't want one and that I would reach out to corporate, the district manager was contacted and ultimately approved the chicken tenders. I appreciated getting the replacement, but I had to specifically ask for a sauce. What bothered me most, though, was the hassle. I paid for two burgers. When I brought the quality issue to their attention, I was told they would only replace one product. This was a quality issue--not an attempt to get a free meal. Yet I felt questioned and made to feel as though I was trying to get over on the restaurant. I came back in good faith because I was a loyal customer and chose BurgerFi over plenty of other burger options in the area. I shouldn't have had to feel like I was inconveniencing the restaurant by bringing a legitimate quality concern to its attention. I gave BurgerFi an opportunity to address my concerns directly, but seven days later, I'm still bothered by how the situation was handled. I even tried to find a customer-service number today so I could follow up, but couldn't find one. It's been a week, and I'm still bothered by the experience. BurgerFi has my attention now--but for all the wrong reasons. When I bring a quality issue to your attention, I should feel heard and respected--not suspected. Unfortunately, this experience has made me question whether I want to spend my money at BurgerFi again.
