The restaurant is a bit small with about eight tables; however, it appeared that most folks there were picking up orders rather than dining in. The cashier and server (the same person) was very nice and had a lot of patience because it took me a while to finally decide what I wanted to eat. Although my meal and margarita were fine, I do not think that I would venture too far out of my way (more than 20+ minutes by car) to specifically dine here. The leche de Tigre had a perfect taste to it, not too spicy but it had a kick. My husband got the Seco de Nortena (or something like that) and enjoyed it. For dessert we got picarones and they were very good! Prices were also pretty good compared to most Peruvian places, but still kinda pricy. (I also saw some very happy-looking people with big smiles on their faces leaving with bags that I now realize must've contained some delicious and much-anticipated takeout!). Rare! It really added to the fun and special feeling here. I enjoyed learning more about Peru -- even when the subject matter was ... what some might call less than fun (war). The serious subjects are literally showcased in an artistic, attractive way. The bathrooms are clean, large, and accessible with all the amenities for which one would hope -- and the extra bonus of super-cool-looking tiles all around! I enjoyed the textures of the tiles and the contrasting colours of them converging at the corners of the room, as well .... Maybe it's not something everyone would consciously notice, but these details, I'm sure, do add to the experience and enhance it even when one is not inclined to pay attention to such things. There are positive, uplifting, empowering messages showcased throughout and the bowls on the shelves behind the counter are just stunningly, eye-poppingly beautiful!
