Super sad that Seoul Soondae is gone when it happened but I must say King Pollo is poppin'. It's always so hard to decide what to order because everything looks so good and enticing. I typically get the Peruvian chicken meal (1/4 and comes with 2 sides) and the chicken has always been so juicy and flavorful. The servers/workers are super nice...sometimes I struggle with ordering because there can be a language barrier but they are so sweet and patient and really makes you feel at ease with the entire process. The portions are HUGE and I typically have to split it into two meals. They also have, PUPUSAS!!!! They are so good. SO CHEESY. You must try it at least once. They also have horchata and tamarind (and more) if you want to grab a fountain drink and it comes in this HUGE cup. This place is the place to go if you want your savory fix.

I hate to write this, but I have to give fair warning to all those whom look like myself. If you're African American, don't waste your time going to this restaurant. I had two employees who weren't doing anything walk past me, and ignore my questions. It wasn't a "Language barrier" either. Because they spoke very good English. They were more concerned about catering to their OWN KIND, who wasn't even in line, I was the ONLY person in line with my daughter. As we were inquiring about their soups, the lady behind the counter, walked right past me, TWICE! While the man at the register, ignored me too, as I tried to ask him as well about the soups. Then, as I asked, "Is their anyone actually working that's willing to answer my questions, and take my daughter and I order?" the guy at the register stated, "Just hold up!!!!" But their was absolutely ZERO people at the counter besides my daughter and I. Not to mention, that I bypassed several other Peruvian places to come to this one. I took a picture, to show that no one was still at the counter. Just zoom in.

Hmm... contrary to some of the other reviews here, I had a very pleasant experience here and found the space to be very clean and inviting, for small or large groups. Came with my two kids and another adult and we were able to quickly ordered. We decided to try the 1/4 chicken with two sides (uh hello HUGE PORTIONS for the sides), the horchata drink (always yummy), Lomo saltado and cheese and chicken pupusas. Everything is made in house and from scratch and we enjoyed the sauces, and flavors on the chicken. I find the prices to be pretty reasonable too so if you are tired from H Mart shopping and want to get some lunch, this is a great option!

I recently tried King Pollo Peruvian chicken and I was actually surprised , the food taste good, the chicken was well done seasoned and the delivery was on time and the customer service was great. Their green sauce actually has a nice little kick to it. which I love. I don't understand these other places that charge you extra for the sauce knowing that you're looking for the heat and theirs is not hot and you're paying extra for the same bland-tasting sauce. Thank you King Pollo, please teach the others how to make the green sauce.

Was in the mood for Peruvian chicken and according to google maps this place was 10 mins away. Ordered carry out ahead of time at the silver spring location. The strip mall is at a very busy intersection. The area is not the nicest right off Veirs Mill Road. The chicken and sides were very tasty. Staff was friendly. Not crazy about the yellow sauce, I've definitely had better. But overall good food at a decent price.

Chicken soup was huge. A quart of soup and two pieces of chicken (that's a thigh!) for under $10.

Do you have those days? The days that call for a big bowl of soup, days that cry out for a plate of rice and beans, or days that call out for a platter overflowing with what makes comfort food so perfectly comforting? (Salt, fats, and carbs in case you had doubt. Go ahead, think of the food that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy. I'll bet it has at least two of the three.) King Pollo right next to the Korean Korner, is here to help, and will even let you stay somewhat healthy if you insist. This is a standard Peruvian chicken place. Order by the quarter, half, or whole. They have 14 options for sides from salads to starches, and garnishes galore. Three soup options and a few pricier platters are also available, and they have two coolers brimming with beverages. Order from the steam table and you will have your food in moments. The chicken is piled high and ready to go. Order a platter or a pupasa and be prepared to wait a few minutes, as they will be busy cooking your food to order. It will be worth the wait, and will most likely be enough to make a second meal, so I suggest that you take your drink and wait patiently. They will call the name of your dish when it is ready. Most meals will cost right around $10, and could easily be shared or stretched to two meals. I'm a fan of their chicken soup, which contained a leg and a thigh and a large portion of somewhat bland broth. Their chicken is also delicious. The only thing I might not order again is their chicharrones, which spent a few seconds too long in the deep fryer. So when those days pop up and you need to find an overly large portion of something tasty, king Pollo is ready to help you find your comfort zone.

Yo forget the Peruvian chicken- it's alright (better than crisp and juicy imo but you're down the street from el pollo rico) but where it's at is the lomo saltado and that pupusa is pretty legit. The lomo was so affordable and made on the spot right when you order. Seasoned perfectly with plenty of beef for about 11 bucks, plenty of rice and fries - what's not to love?? And if you do order the chicken, they give you all the aji armarillo and spicy green sauce you want, which wins points in my book (slather your papas fritas in it!) it's not as pungent as EPR's but it hits the spot. Horachata and tamarindo on tap too- wish it was chicha as well but I'm down with it.

Chicken is crispy. Compared to El Pollo Rico, the chicken doesn't dry out much, but also isn't as rich in flavor as Pollo Rico. However, they're chicken is 7/10 rating and isn't bad. It's crunchy. Sides are BETTER than El Pollo Rico. They're fresh, and not all soggy. Fried are actually crisp and crunchy. Plantains are also crunchy but not as sweet (Pollo Rico uses honey). They also offer many different sides like pasta, mixed veggies, and other things. Variety is great. They offer more than the traditional Chicken and sides. They also offer a salad, subs, and pupusas. Menu is wide and nice. Prices are a bit cheaper than Pollo Rico. Which is a steal. Overall, I'd recommend this place for people to try out versus Pollo Rico. I love Pollo Rico and have had it for years, however their inconsistencies (with quality of food and amount of sides) vary which is really frustrating. Recommended. They have a complimentary widescreen TV for your pleasure and free wifi as well.

I eat at King Pollo often, I have only tried the charbroiled chicken and sides. It's very good and I visit there probably once week!

I was there around 3 pm. It was not busy as it was post lunch hour. I ordered quarter dark chicken with side of fried rice and yuka fries. The chicken was so tender and flavorful. Fall off the bones and very delicious. I loved the nicely roasted chicken skin as well. Fried rice was good. I have had better fried rice at other places. Yuka fried with their green spicy sauce went really well. Nice and crispy. Ambiance is alright. It's a self serve place like most of the other Peruvian restaurants. Plenty of parking space.

I recently placed a family order at your restaurant, and when I was ready to pay, I was informed that there would be a $3 additional charge if I chose to pay with a credit card. I was told that if I paid in cash, I would only be charged the regular price. When I asked the cashier about this policy, she stated that the new owner had implemented this charge. I believe this kind of fee is unfair and deceptive. Customers should be clearly informed before ordering that there will be an extra charge for using a card, and this fee should be prominently displayed--if it's allowed at all. This practice feels like an attempt to squeeze extra money from customers without transparency. It comes across as dishonest and exploitative. I urge you to look into this location and ensure that all charges are properly disclosed and fair. Adding surprise fees at the register does not reflect well on your brand and damages customer trust. I would appreciate a response explaining whether this is an official company policy or a local decision, and what steps will be taken to address it.
