I didn't order chicken. That might have been my mistake. The yucca fries were good. I've had better, but they were alright. And the ceviche was delicious, and generously portioned. I'd get it again. But the Jalea de Mariscos (lightly breaded, fried seafood) was awful. I seriously suspect they'd fried it earlier and reheated it in the microwave when I ordered- I have never had seafood that rubbery before. The poor shrimp were shrunken and chewy. The squid looked like rings of dried apples. So maybe just stick to the chicken. read more

Ever since it opened, I've made a mental note to check it out. It was worth the wait. Going in, you find a clean, modern interior with Latin music playing and TV's on the walls There's a counter to order from and a dining area where you can sit. Booth seating and round table seats are in the space. The storefront window allows one to people-watch as you sit and eat. The menu is pretty straight forward and looks appetizing because the specialty dishes are in Spanish. They've helped a bit by showing pictures of the dishes that are posted on the storefront window and inside on the counter area. I ordered the Tallarin Saltado De Pollo. I was gonna do takeout but changed my mind to dine in.I also got a tasty juice which I can't remember the name of, but was "grape-like", you could say. Anyway, the food came out hot and fresh. Literally steaming. Impressive Even more so was how it looked and tasted. "A juicy Chinese influenced Peruvian dish" as advertised was just that. Light yet filling,with a creamy spaghetti and large-sized cuts of red onions and red peppers. It was very tasty indeed. Overall I was very impressed with this place. Besides the Peruvian chicken, you can get stir-fry based carne and chicken dishes as well as ceviche. If it's anything like what I had, it's all good! Also: The 16 oz. Don Pollo's Charbroiled chicken is delicious. I have come to this location twice since they opened for carryout and I appreciate how fast their service is. I always get either the 1/4 or 1/2 white meat with two sides - rice and beans and plantains. I don't ever deviate from this order. Don Pollo is solid food for a fantastic price. It's truly a hidden gem! The chicken has flavor throughout, the sides are fantastic (yet the yucca!). They also give you a tonnnn of food for the price, you'll be eating delicious leftovers for dayss. They even are on ubereats and you can call in for pick up! The atmosphere inside isn't that nice - so I usually do pick up. They're super quick - a full dinner for 4 people will be done in 10 mins. Love this place! read more

Visited this location twice and ordered chicken with yuca/rice/cucumber salad and tres leches. The food was delicious the first time and on the second visit as well. Went in, ordered and the food was ready to go very little wait. Hot, juicy well seasoned chicken and the YUCA was so fresh! I go to this place about once a month on my lunch hour. I like the 1/4 chicken white meat with yuca and cucumber salad. Their yuca is fried perfectly crispy, not hard and dry like other places. For some reason the take-away menu doesn't list cucumber salad as a side item, but they do serve it and it's on the menu board at the store. read more

Rockville, MD Location: Okay so I have been here several times and the chicken is delicious and would rate it one of the best in the area. The chicken is hot N juicy and full of flavor. The plantains are sweet the Corn Pico is very good I would order it again. The fried rice I would not order it again it smelled funny and it taste funny I can't tell you what exactly that taste was because I can't put my finger on it. It's one that i don't usually taste in Latin fried rice. As for the customer service they are very vanilla they are not friendly but they are not nasty or mean. Absolutely horrible. I ordered what was supposed to be pan seared steak and sausage mixed with french fries and a mustard ketchup and Mayo sauce. This Don Pollo location was recently built in the Briggs Chaney Shopping plaza and my girlfriend and I thought we would give it a try, as we both love charbroiled chicken and never had Don Pollos before. I ordered a quarter chicken and got two sides (mash potatoes and white rice with black beans). She ordered a quarter chicken with veggies and fried rice (chaufa). The white rice and beans were the only thing good about my meal hence the rating of the review. The chicken was not fresh and was dried and overcooked to the texture of hard rubber. The fried rice was also good but a little salty and the veggies were bland. I will visit another well established Don Pollos for comparison but as for now we will not be dining there again. read more

I usually love Peruvian but this place is run by incompetent people my mother in law got a gift card from a co worker so I went with my father-in-law to pick up chicken from this place with the gift card. The first time I ended up paying for the chicken because the person at the register told us we needed the receipt to use the card. I came back and tried to use the card with the receipt and they told me the card still didn't work because it was purchased from another location but the gift card has the locations addressees on the card for the store in Briggs Chaney and the one in Glenmont they had us waiting calling the other store for a good thirty minutes. It will be the last time I go to any Don Pollo I'd rather drive farther and go to Sardis, Crispy and Juicy then deal with these idiots do yourself a favor and eat any other Peruvian chicken place besides this place it's not even that good compared to the other ones I mentioned earlier read more

The food was excellent. Everything was perfectly flavored and the roast chicken was significantly larger than we typically find, necessitating is actually taking home leftovers--which never happens. Highly recommend this place. I haven't tried the Sardi's in the area but Don Pollo is leagues better than the one in Philadelphia.
