I just wrote a Yelp review of Habit Burger in Rockville representing 2018 in alphabet series for H. Now, representing 2024 is the Gaithersburg location H is for Habit Burger. As I said in the Rockville location, Habit Burger started in Santa Barbara, California. I think it's on par with another Cali founded burger place, In-N-Out Burger. Actually, representing 2024 for the letter I will be In-N-Out in AZ, which will also get 5-stars. I think Habit is just as good and better than more expensive but also solid Shake Shack. Staff is always friendly when I've been to the Gaithersburg location. Burger & fries are excellent here. My girlfriend agrees it's an excellent burger choice when we've visited this & Bowie locations before. Definitely will continue to return to Habit. Just wish there was a location convenient to me in western Anne Arundel County. My closest is in Riverdale Park (still about 15 miles from home) in a newer area, but fairly deep inside the beltway & going through congested College Park and never been to that location, although been in that center twice. read more

This review is strictly off the food.* I've never actually eaten in the restaurant or even gone inside. I have done curbside. Their food tastes very plain. I've had a regular burger and I did not care for it. Their Oreo milkshake literally tasted like milk. The only thing that tastes good, was the onion rings, but you can't really mess up onion rings. If you are looking for a good deal on food, I would say go here. They usually have a deal on the app or if you sign up for emails. However, if you are looking for a good burger, I would not recommend this place. read more

It's annoying since it's difficult to get in contact for deliveries and if it's a pickup they just scramble around so you wait longer. 10.25.23 The Charburger and my fries/onion ring combo was ordinary and average. The only thing that stood out was the charred burger which made it crispy. The employee was friendly and greeted me upon taking my order at the register. After I received the buzzer notification, I went to the counter to pick up my order and she asked if I wanted ranch for my onion rings. Can't give 5 stars because I've always had it via take-out from MIL and it's never hot. This is not the restaurant's fault lol, so just remember it's the only reason I don't give em 5 stars. My husband and I were in the area. It smelled heavenly outside. I got the BBQ Char and he got the Portobello Char. Excellent food and so fresh. The sweet tea was perfect. Overall, the tables were clean, as well as the rest room. Our experience was was great, that we went back again the same day. Habit burger is working hard to keep customers safe. They have a staff member seating people at alternating tables, and it looks like each table is cleaned after everyone leaves. They have removed common items, and drink refills/napkins are available by request to the staff. They're operating with a friendly smile! I'm in the healthcare profession and very nervous when it comes to social distancing, but I felt very safe while dining in here. I ordered the Santa Barbara burger, and it was HUGE and delicious! The burgers here are very delicious - just the right amount of seasoning and sauce to make the perfect combo. They also have unique sides like garlic cauliflower which puts a nice spin on the typical French fries option (though they have those too). The inside is also quite nice if you dine in. The only complaint I have is that if you do not order ahead, it usually takes a long time. Every time I have been in here, there has only been one person working the register regardless of the amount of people - which can be frustrating. Perhaps the economic downturn or dealing with Ks all day have made these employees, and a manager in particular, provide less than stellar customer service. Let's start with the curbside service. If you can't bring an order out within 5 minutes of it being ready, don't offer curbside pick-up. It's really that simple. Continuing this trend, there seems to be a disconnect with online offers and what they will honor in the store. On more than one occasion, I have gone to the Habit with some sort of coupon from their mobile ordering service, and the brick and mortar portion of the business had no idea what they were looking at. On top of that, refusing to honor it. This is just a bad business practice. Now had the manager that was on duty had a decent attitude toward me as I displayed toward her, I would have just paid for another sandwich. But she clearly had an axe to grind with me. I have been frequenting this place for years and I've watched it steadily decline to where it is now - the gutter. Another case of good food, abhorrent service. If I knew I was going to pay that? Came here for lunch and so glad it opened a location in Gaithersburg! It has so much more variety than other burger joints, with chicken and tuna! Their burgers are char grilled, yet I've haven't tasted the char yet. Nonetheless, the burger tasted great with all the fixings. They also have a pickle bar and thankfully serve Coke products. They have fries, sweet potato fries and veggie tempura and other options besides French fries. Good hot tasty fries I've had today. Their salads are quite filling and a good alternative for those that are doing low carb or trying to be healthier. A lot more variety than your typical hamburger fast casual place. Now the parking is strange. Only has say 10 spaces out front and if it's full, you have to park in the strip mall lot (not too bad of a walk). read more

Honestly? I wasn't too impressed. I'd been hearing praises of this place for a long time. So I was actually quite disappointed to have a very average burger. We got two charburgers with cheese, fried string beans, fries, and two drinks. The best thing honestly was the fried string beans and there is something wrong when the veggie side is upstaging your main draw of a chargrilled burger. I mean the word 'burger' is in the name. I didn't find the meat to be particularly well seasoned and it was not juicy. It was actually greasy and not in a good Five Guys' way. So... what's up with the employee at this place? Do they not know common sense? No offense to anyone but jeez. Honestly this habit is eh. First of all, the women in the navy blue shirt with glasses had a automaton voice getting my order. Clearly she seem like she ran the place but I think not! I had a free charburger coupon hoping to get a free burger as well as another burger. However, when I got my order there was only one... I mean if I'm ordering one type of burger that wasn't even a basic charburger and I gave you a coupon. Shouldn't that been two different items? Didn't want to be that guy so I just left. What a waste of the coupon... it wasn't even free lol. I even asked to get the it with combo meal but she made my order separate... alrighty then. When she tried punching my coupon into the system. All I can say is wow! This place was so tasty and delicious, that I didn't even get a chance to take a picture before digging in. Before I start my review, I must say shoutout to the very Upbeat, helpful, and optimistic staff& high five for pushing out quality food! Most of the staff working here is young , and it says allot when teenagers are able to have such a fantastic work ethic, instead of the non-chalantness that can be found at some fast food joints where Teenagers work. So anyways, onto the review. I ended up ordering a Crispy Chicken Sandwich that was the bees knees! I ordered it with a side of sweet potato fries, the sandwich was fried to protection & the Sweet Potato fries had a nice sweet taste and the perfect crisp! There was a nice spicy sauce that was on the Sandwich that made you want to just keep taking endless bites. I must also say that the quality of the food was great! The tuna sandwich was good and so was the chocolate shake. The fries were not. They don't add any salt to them and they seemingly have no seasoning. I added salt from the packet but really that doesn't help. Then you just have clumps of salt sprinkled on the dry fries. This is kind of odd that the regular fries don't have much taste. As for customer service the women who took my order, Karla, was SUPER nice and professional. She was even telling people to have a great day on their way out. Rare at fast food places like such. I went at 1pm for lunch and there was a pretty long line. As for the burger itself, blah. It was only $4.40 so I can't be too mad. I got the charburger with just American cheese (they don't have cheddar), ketchup and mayo. It was mostly bread. It also took quite awhile to get my order but again they were busy. Just your typical burger restaurant, nothing too spectacular about the burgers here. They're still delicious but nothing too great compared to Shake Shack and In n Out. I got the charburger which is your regular burger but I added cheese and bacon for additional $$. Patty was flavorful but a tiny bit too salty. Their onion rings are good, fries were soggy (it may be because we did a take out order and ate them 10 min later). My friend got the Santa Fe Burger which comes with two patties, avocado and cheese. They offer your regular sodas and have three different teas made in house: Tropical, Citrus Green Tea, and a black tea. The teas were weak and lacked flavor. Habit Burger is more affordable compared to Five Guys but I would rather spend the extra bucks at Five Guys. read more

Exceeded all my expectations. Really didn't like the habit burger in Rockville. Based on that and the reviews I was prepared not to like this place but they gave us a free burger promo so I came. I'm glad I did. Service was very friendly and not fast but timely. The food was good not great. I like a five guys burger better, but we liked the sweet potato fries and the tempura green beans. The price is a bit high but worth it for the quality of the food. The highlights were the kids meals and the special fruit drinks. We especially like the peach nectar and ginger drink. The kids meals are enormous and yummy. Unlike most places, they are worth the $4.50. I'll come back to try the milkshakes and ice cream. read more

We come here after the gym sometimes. Everything has been great both times I ate there including the Santa Barbara Char ($.50 upcharge for chicken) and the Santa Barbara Cobb Salad. If you like avocado like me, then take note that when you see the term "Santa Barbara" on the menu, it means that the salad or sandwich has avocado and possibly bacon. Also, they grill the toast on the burgers and it really adds something nice. Last time I was there, I noticed that they put a hint of horseradish in the mayo as well.
