Been here many times before & the service is always friendly. You can't really complain about the quality of the food either cause it's mainly a breakfast menu! Who f-cks up breakfast?! If a cook can't make a decent breakfast plate then IHOP got problems! The only thing I dislike is the location. I signed up for the Pancake Revolutions rewards program on 11/14 and received two vouchers for a free Fresh and Frooty Rooty Tooty stack at the nearest IHOP which the IHOP website determined was in Milpitas, CA: one for signing up and the other for my birthday reward. The IHOP staff and servers were unprofessional and condescending the minute I started to explain that I wanted to redeem my free stack reward. Initially the IHOP employee at the front check-in wanted to turn me away because I didn't have a printed copy and had shown him the email on my iPhone. My server seated me and gave me the manager's card with the IHOP location's gmail address so I could forward the email directly to the store's printer. She kindly printed it out for me and left it on my table as I placed my order. Once she returned with my order, she barely spoke another word to me and did not check in to see if everything was fine as IHOP servers typically do. I guess she wrongly assumed that I wasn't planning to tip on the full price of the pancakes, there was no need to act hospitable or perform basic serving duties like checking in with her customer. While I was eating at the table closest to the check-in stand, I could hear my server and the IHOP employee loudly discussing my order with perceptible scorn and actually overheard them say "So she basically is getting this for free? She's not paying anything?" This was disheartening and frankly offensive to hear. I am not a freeloader, I do not dine and dash. I politely informed them from the very start that I wanted to redeem my sign-up reward. Frankly it is rude and poor business practice to have these types of conversations about customers within earshot of said customers. If IHOP servers at the East Calaveras location have a problem with offering free pancake stacks, then they should take it up with corporate because it is IHOP that offers this reward. Her shift ended before I had finished and she left without saying a word or inquiring if I needed anything. Had she done so, I would've asked her to break a larger bill so that I could leave her a proper tip. Alas, she didn't ask. After I finished, I walked up to the check-out and inquired if I needed to pay the tax on my free stack. I was rather coldly told no (again why the attitude if the Pancake Revolution rewards is a a known program IHOP offers to its customers?). Based on my treatment and the bizarre attitude of my server and all the other waitstaff (except the runners, they were nice and professional), I left. I still had my birthday reward (which just expired 11/28) but was so dissatisfied by my first visit that I chose not to redeem my reward lest I have to return to that same IHOP location and be subjected to similar treatment. Because of the Pancake Revolution rules, I could have only redeemed my free birthday stack at the location that I had entered was my preferred location (only because the website showed that it was the closest one). Please note: I did not redeem my free birthday reward because I did not wish to return to the East Calaveras-Milpitas IHOP because of how the waitstaff there treated me during my first and only visit to the 3294 location. I will be contacting IHOP Guest Relations as I would like to speak with someone at IHOP corporate as well as posting this Yelp review of the IHOP East Calaveras, Milpitas location so that other IHOP patrons will be warned to avoid this location at all costs. read more

Service is very slow. Waitress took our drink order and returned in about 5 minutes. It took another 10 minutes for her to return and take our food order. The main area we were in only had 2 tables of folks who were already eating their food. It then took 20 mins for our 2 kid order of pancakes, my wife's salad and pancakes and my sandwich. From the delivery of the food until I got up to finally ask for the check we we're basically ignored. No refills on drinks. Food was fine, but service was poor and that was with a hostess and what appeared to be 2 servers working the 3 tables. There was a crowd nears the restrooms but they appeared to be a club meeting or some gathering and were there when we arrived and left. I've passed this IHOP a bunch of times but never stopped by for a bite until recently. I flew back to San Jose for Thanksgiving and was craving a Colorado Omelette. My brother came with me and we wanted to try this IHOP location. The parking lot was somewhat small and crowded when we went (probably 11am). We had to wait about 15 minutes before being seated. I ordered the Colorado Omelette ($11.39) while my brother ordered the Sausages & Egg Combo (I think $7.49). He also ordered the pumpkin pancakes in addition to his Sausages & Egg Combo. It was probably a few minutes before our food came out all at once. My Colorado Omelette was good and just how I remembered it at other IHOP locations. The buttermilk pancakes were alright but I still finished them even though I was full from the Colorado Omelette. Our waiter was nice and checked on us every now and then. The interior was pretty clean and it felt like one of those places you could eat and not be bothered by anybody. lol read more

Living only a couple miles from this IHOP and having a four year old son who'll eat there six ways to Sunday, we go at least once a month. The line can get long on weekend mornings or holidays, so we tend to go in the evening. I think I've only had breakfasts there, so this review is for one type of meal only. That said, their breakfasts are cooked perfectly and exactly the way I ask for. The service is almost always perfect, even to special requests. We'll keep going back, probably forever! read more

We walked in at 2:15 and ordered at 2:20. It's currently 2:48 and we are still waiting for our meals. My party of 4 has sat here and watched other people eat their whole meals. Regardless of how well everything tastes, it's still an unreasonable amount of time to wait. The waitress brought out our drinks and hasn't checked on us or told us the reason for the delay once. Went in for a quick breakfast and should've left at the first red flag.. our table had a few ants . Asked to move and had to wait for 3 different staff members to even acknowledge that we just wanted to fix it . But instead we were just looked at as if we were the problem. Maybe it was the manager who came to look over at us but she didn't even come to the table either to see what the issue was or even apologize. We were given another table and this one still had syrup droppings on the table. So I cleaned it off myself since My son was hungry & we still decided to order. Foos came a little at a time and we never received the order for regular French toast until we finally stood up to pay and leave they brought the plate out , most likely so they could still charge us . Of course we were still charged for the plate that came out 30 mins after all the other plates . And this entire time we were never asked if we needed anything else or checked on. There was lots of staff so I know it wasn't short staffed and they were just getting just as we were leaving So I think we were given the low customer service because we simply asked the ants be cleaned off our table . On a slow Monday mid morning Terrible customer service dispute having plenty of staff. And busser in the am shift did not clean tables off properly. Won't come back unfortunately. This place is clean. The coffee is fresh. The staff is courteous and dressed nice. The food even came out in a timely fashion. My only gripe is the omelet called Big Steak Omelet. The meat looks more like hamburger meat but worse. In addition it has a ton of fat tissue. I do not recommend this omelet. Everything else in the omelet tasted good. It was 40 minutes till close. My friend whos mom just passed wanted waffles. So I said lets call IHOP and order for pick up. We were only a couple exits up the freeway in Fremont. We tried calling IHOP and they would not answer the phone. We let it ring for ever each time. We knew they would be closing within a half hour by now so we raced over. Upon arrival there was someone there picking up a to go order. Mind you it is now 20 minutes till close. I told the girl I would like to order and she said we are closed. I said well what about the time? She said well let me ask the kitchen. We could hear her talking in spanish and then she told us no. I was fuming. They could have made our order and had it to us and then closed before closing time but they had probably been slow all evening and had done their side work and wanted to leave early. It took 30 mins after the pick up ready time and our food was cold meaning it was left at the host /pick up table for that long. Ihop has to be my favorite breakfast food chain. The customer service is great and do a fantastic job in making sure you have everything you need to enjoy your breakfast. The menu is basic and is exactly what cheap breakfast food should be like. The turkey and avocado bennie was delicious. The toast had a sweet buttery taste to it and it took much willpower to not eat all 1,000 calories of this gluttinous glory. If you come to this location do not get Linh as a server. I requested French Vanilla or hazelnut creamer as I always have when I come to IHOP, Linh told me they have NEVER had anything other than Half and Half or Milk. I was just here two weeks ago and was given French vanilla creamer. I asked if French vanilla was discontinued or if they had just ran out today. Linh then proceeded to yell at me saying "We never have any vanilla" rather then go back and forth with Linh I asked for a manager which was a Mexican man in a hoodie, jeans, and no name tag. This man had a clear English barrier and didn't understand our request fully but was able to communicate that they no longer have flavored creamers but they only have half and half. Linh was very unprofessional, rude, and no longer wanted to help our table after we requested a manager. Since they only had a few waiters he had no choice. Went here as per daughter's request. They had the unlimited pancake promo and that got us wanting to try it. Personally I was expecting fluffy and bigger pancakes as shown in the commercials but then again they say everything is 10% bigger in tv ... Including pancakes- lol, right?!?! So she got the basic order or 2 eggs, 2 bacons and hash browns with her pancakes, while I settled for just the pancakes. I wasn't satisfied with the pancakes (which is ironic for it is suppose to take pride in its pancakes at it name depicts). I didn't even finish my own stacks and let my daughter finish it all ( as she did share her hash browns and bacon with moi). I did like the boysenberry syrup compared to the other flavored syrups they have ( other choices were the regular maple, strawberry, blueberry and strawberry). The kiddo liked the blueberry better. +0.5. However, she finished all the pancakes with a squirt of ketchup... Hey, she has a more complex taste buds and I love and encourage her for it. The service was great as our server was really nice. +1 The place was clean inside so that's +0.5. Add some maple syrup on top of your sausages and biscuits, and ketchup on your hash brown with maple syrup.... You are in heaven... Staff is quick and gets your order properly as they should. Managed to also order a side of small peach pancake with two small scoops of ice cream, great finisher to an already amazing meal. The pancake was so soft and perfect, literally almost brought a tear in my eye thinking about how perfectly soft they made the pancake. As a traveler, It's just so hard to find an iHop that does it right... funny part was that I wasn't really even that hungry walking in.... but the food was so good I had to make damn sure to enjoy every bite. If you're looking for a nice IHOP that feels a bit more like the South than it does in the hustle and bustle of the Silicon Valley, this is where you go. Milpitas is far from my favorite city. Everywhere smells like trash, terrible roads and even more terrible drivers (especially in Milpitas Square), and tech campus after tech campus, you start to feel the drabness of a 90's Silicon Valley that's trying to keep up with the newer, hip companies in the city. Instead, you're left with a rather boring town with stone-colored industrial buildings block after block. Within that is an IHOP. Now, what makes this IHOP special is by and far its hospitality. The servers would do everything to make sure your pancakes or omelettes meet expectations, and are willing to take it back to the kitchen and even check up on you to make everything okay. The people who dine at this restaurant are typically nice. There's no regard for social standing or any political agenda; everyone's here just to grab a nice breakfast. After being in the city so long, this is the sort of place that's really nice to go to and grab a nice coffee and some hearty breakfast items.
